My (Pakistani) husband and I came here for dinner and enjoyed it. Personally, I absolutely LOVED the food. We had the dosa chaat, palak (saag) paneer, garlic and butter naan, goat korma, and rasmali for dessert. My husband wasn t too impressed with the food. He said it was just okay, nothing special. I personally LOVED everything and thought it was delicious. Service was good and servers were friendly. My only con is that the food is objectively extremely over priced. The goat korma was $20 and had barely any meat in it, it was mostly bones. The two tiny milk curd patties in the rasmalai for $7 was kinda crazy. Our food also came out a bit cold.

Food was so good but the service sucked, we got sat took 10 minutes for someone to approach our table. Someone else brought our food and our server name came again. She stoped by once and never again. I really do like the food but the service is just bad. We hate to be those people but we to ask a different person to get us our server.

The manager was extremely rude and made it clear they dont value their customers. He initially promised us a table in 15 minutes but then refused to seat us and claimed he never made such a promise. After waiting and being misled, we had to go to another restaurant. It was one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had, and if I could, Id give it a negative rating.

This is such an amazing place. If I had to complain, it would be to have longer hours. I diffantly will be coming back. We order the mango chicken curry garlic nanny and extra rice. I wish I could give it more stars because the flavors are amazing, but there is always a lot of grit in the food, I assume it is because they arent washing the vegetables enough because it feels like when you eat mushrooms that havent been cleaned enough, but I cant be totally sure what it is. There are also only ever a couple pieces of meat in the biryani and for that price it should be so much more. Also the prices are a bit over what they should be even in todays economy. Also, often the plates are dirty with black residue (I think they should bring them clean to you when you sit down, and after you order, this may be because they sit out), and recently I opened the silverware cloth napkin and there were tons of black pieces wrapped up in the napkin with the silverware; I dont know what they were, but it was not clean. Also the texture of the chicken while fully cooked doesnt always taste/feel great. Being the only full Indian restaurant in Corpus Christi, I think they might be kind of taking advantage of that by pricing items too high. We would eat there many times per month if the prices werent so high, but because they are, we only maybe go there once every couple of months or so.

We ordered Samosa Chat, Rotis, dhal tadka, Kaju masala and mango lassi. All the dishes were excellent and good quantity. Note that a bowl of rice is complimentary if you order dhal or any subji. The ambience if also very good. If you happen to visit Corpus Christi, this is the place to go for your Indian food. All the best to the team at Persi s.

Excellent food and service. The lamb vindaloo had a dominant clove flavor composed of a mix of 60/40 lamb to potatoes but really good, the samosa pastry was hot and delicious. Indian spicy was just right. Parking: Parking off the road and not busy when visited.

There can be no comparison! This is by far the best Indian food I ve had. Perfectly flavored! Chicken tender and NO grisly portions. If I m not careful, I ll be back daily and go broke. I was so glad to hear of a new Indian place in Corpus Christi so we tried it shortly after they opened. Pros: Samosas were fresh and the sauces were great. The employees were friendly. My husband asked if he could get the mango curry with lamb and the chef agreed to make a special order for him, which was very nice. Cons: I ordered a MILD Tikka Masala and I could barely eat it. My nose was running and my ears were on fire. I understand Indian food can be spicy, but when they let you chose your spicy level, I expect mild to be mild. I have had many tikka masalas from different restaurants and I have never had one so spicy. Im not sure if the waiter and I had a miscommunication or thats just how it comes. It didnt help that we had to practically beg to get waters refilled. Secondly, they charged us for another persons ticket, which was near $90 and ours was $50. They gave us back the difference in cash, which was fine, but its something to beware of: make sure you ask the total before they take your card, because they have handheld machines to process your payment. Overall: I had really high hopes and Im glad theres another Indian restaurant in town, but I am afraid to return due to the sheer level of spice they use in their food. If you like spicy - youll love it here!

I placed an order to-go through the Persis Indian Grill website today and as I went to pick up my order, after driving 20 min from home, I left empty-handed and deeply upset. I was told they did not receive my order, which had been placed an hour before, while I received text messages that my order was ready for pick up. Very disappointed and hungry now. Stay away from this place.

Good for Corpus. Its great when we are craving Indian food, and unfortunately there arent many options in the area... My only complaint is the lack thereof meat in the biryani... every time we order this, which is most of the time since its my husbands favorite, I kid you not there is only 4-5 small little chunks of meat. For the price that we pay, I dont want to have less than 10% of it meat then the majority is all rice. A bit unfair in my opinion. My favorite is the Chicken Korma, the flavors are good. We always get the Vegetable Samosas and these are a staple, theyre perfect almost every single time we order them. We only tried the Vindaloo one time, but I remember it being good. If Mango Lassi is on the menu, then there is a chance we are ordering it.

The food was absolutely incredible. We got butter chicken, naan, mango lassi, and samosas. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Staff were polite and friendly, and the decor was beautiful! I highly recommend. My new favorite spot! Parking: Okay amount of parking. There were only 3 other cars in the lot so it wasnt an issue. Wheelchair accessibility: Small ramp leading to door, tables have ample space for wheelchair accessibility.

The flavour on the chattinadu chicken was pretty authentic. I asked for the hottest level, it was a bit spicy. When I was asked how the spice level was, I said good but could have been more. The waitress let me know that you can request Indian hot! Im getting that next time for sure. I need to try more dishes before giving 5 stars, it was good and just a few dishes wont do. Take some friends so you can share and try more flavours.

I have been here twice and it s always great. The menu is very extensive, and the food is always fresh and delicious. I love the garlic naan bread and the butter chicken. Our server, Meg, also recommended a mushroom appetizer that was very good. The service is also outstanding. Meg does an amazing job answering all our questions and is always so kind. Update: Second visit yesterday and service was lacking, food was just okay and the use of a digital payment system at the table annoys me big time!!! Having servers hovering over you while you pay isn t appropriate for a restaurant with any class! Took friends and they weren t impressed by the whole experience. Didn t help that we had a table of four, screaming and misbehaved kids, kicking booth seats and banging on dishes with oblivious parents!!! Won t return. This place is absolutely amazing if you havent been you should definitely go! Me and my husband have been 3 times so far. I promise you will not regret it and it will become a regular spot. We always try something different when we go and nothing absolutely nothing has tasted anything less than terrific. We will be going back again and again. Weve been for lunch and dinner. All the chicken dishes are amazing but dont be afraid to try the lamb because its all delicious as well. The lamb and chicken dishes are so tender. I ordered lamb biryani and mushroom pepper fry. The mushroom pepper was okay, but the lamb biryani they charged me $20 for wasnt worth it. They served normal rice instead of basmati rice, and there was just a layer of lamb gravy at the bottom. The rice on top didnt have any spices except chili and salt. It didnt taste like biryani at all.

I visited this place with my Indian friends. They r vegetarian and I m totally non veg. We were nt able to find any good place which had both sides.. And luckily we choose this place and omg we were delighted to eat their vegetarian and chicken entrees.. we ordered chicken karahi, and chicken tikka masala and veggie Manchurian and cauliflower Manchurian. I love this place so much. The food is top teir. A friend wanted to go and I was instantly hooked the moment we walked in and smelled the spieces. I just went today for my birthday as well. Theres so many options and I want to make my way through the menu. I do have to pace myself because Ive had a gastric sleeve procedure so I cant eat the whole plate but leftovers are so good the next day. I just wish my stomach could still handle the spicier options. They have a mild, medium, and hot. I tried my friends dish wish was the medium and that is the type of heat flavor I like but I gotta take it easy on the spice. I dont think they have music playing which I prefer because I like to be able to hear my conversation. Honestly if I could eat there more often I would. The flavors are so good, portions are decent, and I love the relaxed atmosphere. Cant recommend this place enough.

he restaurant has beautiful ambience but the team needs to work on their services. We were seated down at 9pm and were told to place the entire order in 15 minutes even the restaurant closes at 10pm. We asked the server to give us few minutes to check the menu as we just sat down. She comes back to our table in 5 minutes and asks us to quickly place the order. She was insisting on placing order and reminding us over again about them closing at 10. The food was so tasteless and was not even served hot. Upon paying we found out theres a 3% credit card charge fee, which we asked them as to y and ofc no reply. Also, no where its mentioned about the 3% credit card charge fee was mentioned. Overall it was not welcoming service and ofc not going back. Wouldnt even want to give one star but we have to.

The service at this restaurant was disappointing. Despite a confirmed reservation by the manager himself over the phone, we were denied entry at 9:25 PM, leading us to opt for Dominos pizza instead. The next day, we returned for lunch, eager to try the reputed Indian cuisine. After a 30-minute wait, we finally got a table, only to encounter further delays as a staff member initially refused to seat us, despite our table being ready. Following a verbal dispute, we were finally seated, but encountered more issues when placing our order, as the same staff member restricted certain dishes due to closing time. Our patience wore thin, prompting us to request a different server. Fortunately, the manager intervened, helping us place our order and even offering complimentary food to appease our frustration. While I would recommend this restaurant for its food, its evident that the staff and manager could benefit from learning better manners, particularly in their treatment of Indian customers.

Placed an online order on the restaurant website and paid for it, when we were 45 mins out of CorpusChristi. Reached the restaurant after an hour. Yet they claimed they did not get the order. The staff was laughing and saying that we got the order but it got cancelled due to not being paid. After some time they say, the order is paid for hence it is not canceled. Then they ask us to wait for another 35 minutes. Finally, after a 50 min wait were handed over the food. When asked for raita, we were suggested to buy yogurt from Walmart and mix it with rice and eat. The front staff are pathetic. No customer service for take-out orders I guess. The food on the other hand is fantastic. The baby corn was perfect. The bhindi and chicken do pyaza were perfect. The naans were well baked. The mango lassi was sour. Kudos to the chef for that. Will recommend the food. But not sure will recommend it for takeout. As they dont want you taking out anything.

This is a hidden gem in Corpus Christi. Having never tried Indian cuisine, I was excited for this date night. The atmosphere is casual and inviting with beautiful colors throughout. The staff was so attentive and very kind. Everyone was helpful in explaining dishes and helping us choose our meal. Then the food came .it was an explosion of flavor. The heat was a range from mild to make you sweat, but full of flavor. We chose a chicken, goat and lamb dish. Neither disappointed. Rounded the meal off with fragrant jasmine basmati rice and garlic naan and a Taj Mahal beer. Definitely a wonderful experience.

Visited persis grill and bar with a group of 11 friends on our trip to Corpus Christi from Dallas during memorial long weekend. Our very first impression with manager Jay is terrible. He was rude and unhelpful and the food was mediocre at best. Denied our preferred seating place even when the full place is empty but offered it to Americans who arrived right about our food arrived. When questioned about this racial discrimination, we arent even answered in a polite way and were even asked to leave if dissatisfied. I still couldnt understand why a restaurant will deny turning air conditioning on when its 95F outside but still charge inflated prices. Food is utterly awful, despite multiple requests for preferred spice levels, our requests were just being acknowledged but not put into actions. One of my friend had dosa peice in a biryani, cant imagine how could this happen. The most disappointing part is that we were asked to sit separately. I hope restaurant management see this review and take appropriate actions to better serve their customers in future. I wouldnt recommend Persis to anyone unless they change the manager or change his attitude, maintain equality, serve food based on customer preference and work on communication skills to convey politely on how to deny a request.

When my friends and I entered the restaurant, I asked the manager to seat us in a cooler area, despite the restaurant being empty at the time. He placed us near the bar where the AC wasnt working and it was uncomfortably hot under a vent. I recently dined at Persis and while the food was okay, I had an issue with the billing. An automatic gratuity was added to my bill without clear communication, and I only realized this after leaving an additional tip. When I revisited the same restaurant and asked the staff, I was shocked to learn that both the gratuity and cash tips go to the owner, not the servers. Food - we ordered three things - tomato soup - the soup was stale with croutons that were awful. Three kinds of Nan - all were burnt, cheese butter masala- the gravy had a weird texture- utter disaster. The spice level was medium just like I asked for, the chickeen was moist and tender, lot of places the chicken comes out dry. My wife got a bowl of chicken lentil soup that was very tasty. The food honestly is in my top 2-3 best Indian food restaurants and I m speaking from traveling to different parts of Austin, Lubbock, Houston and now corpus. Very good food. Now the service comparing it to overall it feels a bit subpar. The staff there s plenty but their body language and physical presence is very distant and not responsive. It feels more like they just want to drive the price of physical sale up and that s it. No follow up service, they made a few mistakes with items and weren t communicating with the other servers. I know it s a bunch of college students and they re probably all doing some form of higher education but basic manners and hospitality should be worked on. That carriers over anywhere.

I ve ordered carryout/delivery several times since they opened but I had my very first dine in experience on what happened to be their 1 yr anniversary. I was greeted by several employees immediately upon entering and was seated immediately. First things first, it s beautiful in there! The lighting and decorations really set the mood. I ordered mango chicken and garlic naan which was DELICIOUS. The spice was just right and the service was enough for me to eat twice. I m a light eater but you ll easily have at least a little bit left over. I was given a complimentary dessert which I believe was the rice kheer. I asked the waitress to surprise me. It was tasty!
