Been here more than once, the food and service are pretty much always good. The place has a lot of tchotchke items all over the place and could use a real deep cleaning and dusting. I get that its a greasy spoon but I dont actually want it to be greasy. It seems like it would be extremely time-consuming to do a good job of cleaning this place on a regular basis with all of the mementos all over the place but maybe closing once a month for a deep clean would not be the worst idea.

On the search for the best turkey and dressing plates in Corpus Christi. And this was good. Id come back to get it again. I called in the order over the phone to go. The staff over the phone and who helped me over the counter were very friendly and professional. The turkey, for the most part, was juicy but could have been a little more tender. The cornbread dressing and mashed potatoes were good/mid tier. The green beans could have used some salt. Overall, the whole thing could have used a little salt and pepper. But overall, not bad at all. Plus side they also gave me a side chicken noddle soup, which was really good and a small strawberry cake for dessert. Overall, Id rate this dish an 8.5 out of 10. My only complaint would be that I would have liked a dinner roll. The price was very reasonable for all the food that was included. Just a little over $13! As far as the atmosphere of the restaurant, its a cute little retro diner that needs a little renovation but charming.

Our experience was mostly great, just a couple of items of concern: husband said the mens bathroom was a mess and had a bit of a delay getting our server to check us out, but other than that! The ladies room was clean, the restaurant was clean, food was hot and fresh-phenomenal eggs benedict, service was great otherwise!

It was my first time at the diner today, Decided to meet up with friends there that came down to visit from Washington, the service was good in the beginning, but after we paid the staff told us to hurry up and leave because there was a lot of people waiting to be seated. We were not made aware in the beginning that we can only be there for certain time. As we were walking out the staff yelled out that s them that made yall wait in front of other paying customers. It was embarrassing, We were paying customers and did not appreciate how we were treated when they could have kindly made us aware in the beginning.

It looks cool in there with all the memorabilia. The booth there isnt enough space to sit across from another person ur feet are on top of each other. We sat down It took a while before anyone gave us any menus finally we got some and drinks. The waitress takes our order and we wait and wait she comes back and asks us if she took or order we say yes and we continue to wait. She comes back and goes over our order again we confirm and she tells us she never put it in she threw away the slip. So we just left. I was kinda disappointed because I really wanted to try the ham.

Prices Chef is a true hidden gem, offering a delightful blend of nostalgic diner charm and mouthwatering comfort food that keeps me coming back for more. From the moment you step inside, youre transported back in time to a bygone era of classic diners and hearty meals. Lets talk about the food its simply incredible. The chicken and waffles are a standout dish, with crispy, golden-brown chicken paired perfectly with fluffy waffles and drizzled in sweet maple syrup. Each bite is a symphony of flavors and textures that leaves me craving more every time. And lets not forget about the biscuits theyre a true testament to Southern comfort food at its finest. Light, fluffy, and buttery, they practically melt in your mouth and are the perfect accompaniment to any meal. But its not just the food that makes Prices Chef special its the old-school diner atmosphere and friendly service that truly make it a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The retro decor, cozy booths, and friendly staff create a welcoming ambiance that feels like home from the moment you walk in. In conclusion, if youre in search of delicious comfort food served with a side of nostalgia, look no further than Prices Chef. Whether youre craving classic diner fare like chicken and waffles or simply looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a hearty meal, Prices Chef is sure to hit the spot. I cant recommend it highly enough!

A very friendly and relaxing atmosphere the moment I walked in. The chatter and not so bright lights were very calming. I came with my family and we were seated immediately. The server then took our drinks and later came back for the rest of the order. It was a 10 minute wait until we got our food. We went in for breakfast and ordered the prices breakfast with hash browns + biscuit, the all meat omelette with hash browns + biscuit, the Texas waffle and the eggs Benedict with sourdough toast. The hash browns were not seasoned but this worked very well as they balanced themselves with the other dishes. The all meat omelette was full of beacon, sausage and ham. It was not too much and tasted great. The eggs Benedict was by far the best, the creamy hollandaise sauce went really well with the eggs and bacon. The Texas waffle was really cute and tasted like buttery perfection (might have needed a bit more sugar.) The prices breakfast was well balanced, tasty and filling. The waiter was so nice and took our order very patiently. She also kept topping off our coffee immediately. Prices chef is a well established diner with a beautiful history and tasty food. If Im ever in town again, Im going to Prices first. Parking: There are a couple parking spots right off the road down the diner in front of this blue building. It might be hard to find spots at some times.

Miss Norma Ramirez, I deeply apologize for the misunderstanding, I m the waitress you mentioned in your review. At that moment I had an issue with members of the staff about an order I had placed for my customers (which part was also eggs Benedict), I assume that s why there s was a misunderstanding, I found myself extremely frustrated and said the word stupid a couple times. This was not in any shape or form directed to you, but instead it was expressed about the whole situation I was experiencing. I try my best to give the best service I can. Good service does not only depend on one person, it s a team effort. I appreciates all our customers, I treat everyone with respect because everyone deserves respect. Please accept my apology and trust my sincere words. I hope you can come visit again soon. I care. Thank you!

Seems most places here in texas have trouble cooking the perfect poached egg though. The service was very good. I did go on a Sunday and there was about a 20 minute wait. Seems like that is the normal for brunch in the area though as well.

First off, I must say that our waiter, Alex, was amazing and deserves a raise. It has been a while since my family and I have had a server who was so attentive, easy-going, and made us feel comfortable. We had never been to this restaurant before and wanted to try a new place. My family and I wanted to sit at the diner bar so that my kids could experience such a nostalgic atmosphere. The portions were decent for the price, and the biscuits were homemade and delicious. It was 10:45 AM, and their lunch special was meatloaf, which my wife really wanted to try. However, it wasnt available until 11 AM. Thankfully, Alex was able to accommodate her and provide her with the meatloaf plate. Just so he doesnt get in any trouble, the plate was served past 11, which was fine with us. Now, let me tell you about the meatloaf. It was the best meatloaf we had ever tasted. We were stuffed with our food selection and probably needed a tow truck to lift us out of our seats. We will definitely be going back to try the mac and cheese at the suggestion of Alex.

Don t waste your time and money on this place. Wife, daughter and I were looking forward to it based on reviews. People were friendly and placed looked like it had been there forever. With anticipation we waited for our meal. Wife and I both ordered the eggs Benedict, daughter ordered a French dip. We also ordered a short stack to share. The pancakes came out first, way ahead of the meals. That was disappointing. At first bite I was immediately worried about what was to come. I could taste the dirty grill, I took one more bite just to be sure, after all it was the only thing on the table. Yeah the second bite was no better and my last bite of it, my family agreed. Next came our orders, they looked nothing like the pictures. The eggs were cooked hard, the small dab of sauce tasted like garlic and was disgusting. My first thought on taking a bite was something is spoiled, tasted rotten. It also had that bad grill flavor extending to the half cooked hash browns. My daughters French dip was advertised to come on fresh baked bread (it did not, came on a previous frozen Texas toast) We each had one or two bites of the pancakes, we each had two or 3 bites of our meals. The waitress never checked on us. I got her attention and asked for the check. At this point she noticed we had not eaten our meals and asked the problem. We explained that the food was inedible and that I could taste the dirty grill in everything. Her response was to tell me they ve been very busy and when that busy they don t have time to clean the grill ..yeah she actually said that. I just wanted to pay my bill and get out of there. She brought the check, full price for meals that were not eaten with no apologies only excuses. We paid the bill and I left a $5 tip which was more than deserved. You couldn t drag me back to this place if they were paying me to eat there. If I could give less than one star I would, more like negative 5star. -5star rating I was actually worried for a couple of hours that we were going to be sick from just the few bites we ate.

It finally cooled off toward the end of our visit. I ordered the Spanish omelet and a cinnamon roll. The omelet was awesome and full of flavor. But. The. Cinnamon roll. It was like heaven in my mouth hole. I could have gotten only that and coffee, and I would have been so happy! My husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (added bacon) with onion rings and said it was the best one hed ever eaten. Plus it was giant! He also got a small cup of vegetable soup that was fantastic and tasted like home made. Everything was just great and I will definitely be returning to try more items.

I had the chicken and waffles, and my server suggested and asked if I wanted a little bit of Honey to go with that along with the syrup, she said that she really likes it with honey, I said yes and she brought out a little ramekin of honey, and it was really fabulous. I appreciated her recommendation. And she brought out two pieces of bread pudding for us on the house, just because. Now that I know about this establishment, Im going to be back quite a bit Parking: Street parking but its free Kid-friendliness: Kids will like the atmosphere and food Wheelchair accessibility: They are accommodating

Tried a new place this weekend and it was so disappointing. The food was not good at all and I paid about $17 with tip for one meal. I could ve made it at home however service was great. The restaurant is so old the seats are torn and very uncomfortable. I wish I would have not gone there and saved my money total disappointment

Not from Tx, From Massachusetts. I visit CC a few times a year for work purposes. Almost every time I am here I visit price s chef , typically for a late breakfast. The service is always outstanding. Especially the other day with Lauren. She was very attentive and have a wonderful personality a smile every time. Good vibes!! Food was on point, always is . (I get the same order every time lol) plain omelette xtra peppers , hash-browns and toast! I m a plain jane. But this place deserves this review. Great atmosphere, family friendly. And the prices/cost are still pre covid!!! Never seen that anywhere!!! Amazing!!!

We found this amazing gem of a restaurant over the weekend and actually ate there both mornings. Our waitresses, Meghan (Saturday) and Lauren (Sunday) were outstanding. The vibe is a cafe from the 50 s with booths and barstools at the counter with 80s pop music playing in the background. The food was some of the best breakfast we have had in years. The Texas Waffle was perfection and the pancakes were even better. The service was fast, the restaurant clean. Loved it!

Ordered meatloaf , mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and fried okra. My meal must have been ready , but held until other food was ready , because it was cold. I had to send it back. It was hot when it came back . The meatloaf was just ok , not much flavor and very firm, I prefer a little more seasoned and not just thick hamburger. The gravy was hot but congealed before I finished eating . The okra tasted ok , but it was not crisp at all ,not even the first time it came out , so it was nothing to do with being reheated , and it was never even warm ,so not reheated. Next time, I will order something else. Parking: There are a few places on the street , but since you are close to other restaurants, if you go during a busy time , you may have a walk , if you can find a place on side streets. Oh, and they close at 2 pm for lunch.

We had breakfast at Pices Chef and I am already bragging about it, to all my coworkers and friends. The staff at this restaurant is super friendly and professional. The food is excellent! I had an omelet with a homemade biscuit, and my husband had the migas. I would like to thank the owner for the box of meats for our 4 pups that were patiently waiting for us in the car!

My first time trying this Corpus Christi landmark restaurant. It has been here since the 1940s. It feels like an old diner with 50 memorabilia covering the walls. The age of this place is obvious and it can use new booths, a little work on the AC but the food is priced at a great price. The server was very friendly and great attitude. The place was really busy for breakfast. It is a narrow space so it fills up fast. There might be a wait. I had the pork chop with eggs. Be sure to try the biscuits and gravy or pancakes. The hash browns are okay but would not be my first choice. Feel confident in a good meal at a fair price. The restrooms are old but clean. Parking can be a little difficult so park on the side.

Little spot with good food and even better service. Pretty busy for a small little restaurant but we only ended up waiting about 10 mins for a table. No biggie. It was home style breakfast. Eggs bacon pancakes biscuits the usual. The guys got chicken fried steak and eggs. They were very happy they did. The pancakes were not super thick and doughy which is one of the things that will definitely bring us back! Prices were reasonable.
