Great museum with a variety of exhibits from different Asian cultures. They have a kids space upstairs for origami and dress up.They also offer classes from making dumplings to painting fox masks. I would buy tickets in advance on their website because they fill up super fast but they are a lot of fun. I have been to some of the holiday festivals they offer as well. They bring in local vendors from the area while putting on shows for the festival.

We recently went for Free Museum Day on the 19th. They had Susheria outside selling amazing smelling dishes. Inside we were greeted by the front desk directing us to several areas. She let us know there were several activities scattered around the building upstairs and downstairs. We got to see multiple areas of Asian culture from Thailand to the Philippines to China. I included tons of pictures so you could enjoy the many dolls and paintings along with statues. Very worth the check out.

This is such a neat and personable experience. Richard was at the front and explained the area well, he later met us in the musuem and started explaining things and giving us a small tour. He was very informative and even told us about events they had going on later in the year. I wanted to learn about Japanese art styles but I got so much more out of the musuem! Its not just art its also history! The clay doll room was one of my favorites, hearing stories about them and how they are made was very interesting. We spent about an hour here. Very neat experience.

We were disappointed that the museum was not fully operational. The second floor was not opened bc it had been damaged by harvey. There was no family activities for kids. There was not much to see just artifacts randomly placed on the first floor. We were a bit annoyed that we still had to pay an entrance fee. Save your time and money go to the Selena museum instead.

I would recommend it to anyone who would enjoy learning about the many different types of Asians that help make up our community. I have learned a lot.

Made the trip to Corpus with specific intentions on visiting this museum. We noted that it wasnt open until 11, so decided to hit a Thrift shop to pass some time. We arrived back at the Asian Culture Museum around 11:20 to find it closed! How disappointing. I see at least one other traveler had a similar experience. What a waste to have these wonderful cultural exhibits and not be professional enough to have them open during the posted hours of operation. Maybe they should take the hours off the website and just say call to see if were open. At least then people wouldnt have an expectation that they would actually be open. Very professional operation.

This stop waa actually planned on our trip. We looked up hours of operation amd every thing just to get there and find it closed. After leaving disappointed we spoke to some locals and surrounding businesses who informed us that they do not follow any schedule and open and close when they choose if they open at all. This is just bad business practice

Commonly referred to as the hidden Gem of Corpus, the Texas State Museum of Asian cultures has several interesting exhibits. You can take a self guided tour of the facility and ask the museum manager questions if you have them. They also have a nice giftshop with lots of great items for sale. It is definitely a TO SEE place while in Corpus. If you dont want to feel rushed or crowded, I highly recommend taking this relaxing tour. And, if you purchase several items, you can ask the manager if a multi-item discount is available:-)
