Beautiful restaurant, but poorly maintained with unenthusiastic service and mediocre food. I had the quatro hermanos and it was just okay. The tamale, cheese enchilada, and beef taco were decent. I was excited for the smoked brisket flauta and it was burned with hardly any meat in it. My husband had the milanesa y mole and it was not good at all. It was burned and flavorless. I also judge the rice and beans because I think they give a good baseline. The rice was very over cooked and the beans were not flavorful. The longer I sat there, the more things I noticed were not clean. There were flies about while we were eating and the bathrooms were disgusting. There were Windex bottles with dirty rags in random spots around the restaurant, such as being next what would be nice decor. I m not a picky person at all and I wanted to like this place. Kinda bummed out. Spent $65 for two combo plates, 1 beer, and 1 iced tea.

I read that these were the best fajitas in Conroe so I thought I would try them. I ordered beef fajitas. They were very tough and had no seasoning whatsoever. I had a hard time even eating one. I was charged for the more expensive fajitas even though I just ordered the regular beef fajitas. If these were the more expensive ones, they were definitely not worth the money. I will not be returning. Very overpriced and tasteless:-( Save your money and find a better restaurant. Update: I am very familiar with what fajitas are. However, the menu lists brisket fajitas as well as flame grilled fajitas. I ordered the flame grilled and was charged for the brisket, but my receipt said steak fajitas, which I dont believe are on the menu. My review was my honest opinion and as I said, they were tough and tasteless. I wish I was able to say they were good, but that wasnt my experience. Maybe it was an off day. FINAL UPDATE: I received a very nice email from whom I assume is the restaurant owner or manager. They encouraged us to come try their food again on the house. I told them I was not looking for a free meal just giving my honest review. However, we were running errands a couple of days ago and decided to stop by and take them up on their offer. I will have to say the fajitas were very good this time. They were nothing like they were the first time we came. They were very tender and tasted completely different. We also ordered a couple of appetizers since we didnt want to leave without actually purchasing something ourselves. Neither of us were crazy about the appetizers, but I am giving them a couple more stars because the fajitas are something I might return for.

My husband heard about this place from several of his customers. He said we had to try it, so we did. We drove over an hour to get here and were highly disappointed. The service was terrible; we waited nearly 25 minutes to be greeted by a bartender. The bartender that was in the well kept playing with her hair, never washing her hands (hair should be pulled back when serving food or drinks!) We ordered the beef fajitas, and after waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes, they arrived. The bartender was extremely apologetic, but who cares, I wanted my food. When the fajitas arrived, they were flavorless and rubbery. The Goldrita was underwhelming and full of sour mix. Overall, an awful experience!! We will never be back. Do better Camilas Tex Mex. The service and food are completely unacceptable!

I have to say Im very disappointed in this place. We came here for my husbands birthday. Service was very slow. We didnt get napkins or silverware for our appetizers. We didnt get them until we asked for them after our food (main course) arrived. Then my daughter found a very long hair in her food. We paid almost $50 for fajitas for 2 and they only gave us 2 corn tortillas each. When we asked for extra we had to pay for them. I will say the corn bones and the scorpion queso was very good.

Pretty good queso and chips. The salsa was actually really good too however I got the enchiladas and I did not like the dark maroon sauce that it had on it. I mean it wasn t bad it just wasn t what I ve been used to before however, I m all for trying new things. It was also half-price margaritas and these were their larges so definitely recommend getting one of their margaritas during happy hour.

Highly unimpressed. The brisket fajitas were so fatty we couldnt eat half of them. The scorpion tails were undercooked. The charro beans tasted like they had been in the fridge for several days, corn tortillas were soured smelling, and there were Flys buzzing around our table. We were excited to come here, but unfortunately we wont be coming back. Our waitress was nice, but the food didnt taste fresh and just wasnt flavorful at all, the prices are way too high for this quality of food.

I ve came before to this restaurant but today was horrible. I spent $23 dollars for a margarita and only took two sips. I mentioned to the waitress Julissa the margarita tasted nothing like lime and her response was that s a Rita. I ve had plenty Rita s before and this was by far the worst because it was just off. I proceeded to ask for my ticket and she brought it and I paid. After I paid she asked if I would be willing to come back so she could make a new one. Im writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent visit to Camila s. While the food was enjoyable, the overall experience was completely ruined by a disruptive group of patrons. Its unfortunate that the management seemed to have no issue with their behavior, which included extremely loud and boisterous conversations, excessive noise and yelling, inappropriate language all before noon on a Sunday morning. This made it impossible for other patrons, including myself, to enjoy our meal. It was disappointing to see so many patrons leave before they were even seated. Our waitress apologized profusely and it was no fault of hers. I believe its the responsibility of a restaurant management to ensure that all patrons have a positive dining experience. Allowing such disruptive behavior to continue is a major oversight and has left me feeling dissatisfied with my visit. I hope that management will take steps to address this issue in the future.

This is a review of the service and nothing else. Why nothing else we waited for a table for awhile. We finally got seated. There was a large table that was getting all the attention and it was very loud. Once we got seated, we got menus. Most places ask for your drink order upon being seated. We were not asked. We got annoyed with the loud environment at 11:30 am on a Sunday. Once we looked at the prices ($30) for faijitas for one we decided to just leave. We saw other reviews after we left. Once we were seated, we waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were here. When we finally ordered, it took another 45 minutes for our food, and it was just luke warm! The servers were not friendly, and didnt come back to check on us or ask how our food was. The only positive to our experience was that the food was good. Went yesterday night with a group of 8 and everything was amazing! The wall decor is so beautiful and adds some spice to the place. The food was amazing as well! I had El Vaquero and just for 1 was enough for 2 people! Definitely worth the price. Our waitress Carol was very attentive and overall incredible. Kept our drinks filled all night and stayed checking in. If you re looking for a new Tex mex restaurant definitely give camilas a go.

We had high hopes for this place due to the high review rate and everything looked really yummy online. The restaurant itself is very pretty as well but the food is ultimately why I am giving a poor review. I had the Baja tacos and the tortillas de harina were terrible and cold. We ordered the kids soft taco for our daughter and received only cheese on the taco it was supposed to come with ground beef. We usually aren t picky eaters but we just couldn t finish our food, which was really disheartening. The service was okay. The drinks and empanadas were pretty decent!

Very nice place. Clean, open, nice atmosphere. Love the music. The service was a little slow but not too bad. The drinks are good. I ordered the Rolling Dirty and it looked delicious on the plate but man, it was SALTY. I couldnt finish it, it was so salty. The crazy thing is my wife is always on me about my salt use. I like salt but this was over the top. I will say that the empanadas appetizer was quite good. Not salty like my entree. Will probably give it another shot, but wont order the Rolling Dirty.

FANTASTIC! We were hesitant to try a new Mexican restaurant because we have our tried and true favorites. However, this one was so convenient that we decided to give it a try. We have definitely found a new favorite place and a favorite server!! The atmosphere is wonderful Not too loud and very comfortable in the booths. The margaritas and food were absolutely fantastic and the portions were huge. In addition to that one of the best parts was our waitress Tambra. We had a lot of requests because I have a special needs daughter, and she accommodated each one with a smile. She was efficient and great at making us feel welcome. The food is okay but this place was dirty. They brought out my drink and the glass is clearly dirty. The booth wasn t even cleaned, and every single plate they brought was dirty, at that point I didn t even say anything cus I realized everything they re going to bring me is going to be dirty. The table top was dirty. If you are someone who can t overlook stuff like this I wouldn t come here. It is not enjoyable to eat somewhere when everywhere you look there is something dirty. Disappointing. When this place first opened, it was amazing! We were blown away by everything, but we have noticed over the past several visits that it has went downhill fast. The food is still very good, but the service is lacking. The servers seem like they really hate being there. You have to ask them more than once for the same thing. Today, they were out of the Texas smoked cheese, which is the best thing on the menu and the reason we went today. I normally wouldnt take the time to post a review if the food is good and the service is mediocre, but in this case I had to because I remember when this place was easily one of the best restaurants in the area. What happened? My guess is either the management treats their employees badly, or they treat them too well because the servers are obviously unhappy, unenthusiastic, and indifferent when it comes to providing a positive experience. Normally, after three bad experiences, I wont go back, but because I think this place has so much potential, Im going to try one more time, but if it turns out four bad experiences in a row is the outcome, we wont be back, I dont care how good the food is. Do better. This place can be so amazing, but the customers have to feel wanted and not made to feel like theyre a burden when they walk through the door.

We LOVE Camillas. It is by far or favorite Mexican in Conroe. I love the La Bamba tacos my husband always gets the fajitas, but we really like the charro beans, they have a nice smoky flavor. Tonight our server Makayla was the best! Very attentive and helpful.

I ordered a to go order for lunch at around 11:20am and received a text saying it would be ready at 11:57. I went to pick up my order a little past noon and was told they were still working on my order. Received another text at 12:06pm saying new pick up time at 12:14pm like ok fine. Did not receive my order until 12:20 or so. I open my food and everything was cold and the meat was not cooked all the way through. It s pathetic that I waited so long for COLD mediocre food. Shame on you for packing this food and delivering it to a customer with a smile saying sorry for the wait. Enjoy. I looked around and it was not busy at all so I can t imagine the service and quality of food on a busy night.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Camilas Tex-Mexi-Que in Conroe, Texas, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the restaurants promising reputation, my visit was marred by a series of disappointments that began the moment we were seated. Upon arrival, we faced an unusually long wait time just to receive water and chips. This delay set the tone for the rest of the evening. When our food finally arrived, it was a significant letdown. I ordered the flautas, which were disappointingly sparse on meat and overwhelmingly filled with cheese. Another member of our party ordered the Houston hamburger, which was dry and unappetizing. After returning the first burger, the replacement arrived with wax paper or sort of plastic inside, which the manager nonchalantly attributed to the cheese. Although she attempted to rectify the situation by remaking the burger, by that point, our hunger had turned into frustration. The service, while well-intentioned, was overwhelmed and inefficient. Our waitress, though polite, seemed stretched thin, possibly even assisting in the kitchen, as we did not see her for extended periods. This resulted in repeated requests for basic items such as water, drinks, refills, chips, salsa, and paper towels. The final straw was the prolonged wait for our bill, which took an additional 15 minutes. Given the positive reviews I had heard about Camilas Tex-Mexi-Que, I was hopeful for a pleasant dining experience. However, the issues we encountered poor food quality, inadequate service, and managerial indifference were inexcusable, especially on a relatively quiet evening. I would strongly recommend that the management invest in comprehensive training for both their waitstaff and managers to ensure a higher standard of customer service. While I understand that every establishment can have an off day, the extent of the shortcomings we experienced suggests a need for significant improvement. In summary, my first visit to Camilas Tex-Mexi-Que was regrettably disappointing. I hope that future patrons have a better experience, but based on my visit, I cannot recommend this restaurant at this time.

Amazing bartender, restaurant was beautifully decorated, but everything from the salsa and queso to the entrees was so bland and unseasoned, it was rough. When the fajitas came out you couldn t even smell them. A tale tell sign for us, was to see that all Hispanic patrons ordered drinks (which were tasty), but no food at all.

The bad first : the service was slow.... Like, 10 min just for drink order. There were 3 tables (not large) sat. Our server was nice, but she seemed irritated due to lack of communication on her being sat, I assume. Another coue came in after us and ended up leaving because of their server (same as ours) did not show after 10+ min. Only negative about my food, is that my beans were cold when they came out and it took a bit for our server to get my dipping sauce on the side. Other than that, everything was good. The good: The food was good! My son enjoyed the Birria Burger and my bf loved his tacos. I had flautas and they were good. Nothing too exciting about them, but good nonetheless. I will give this place another chance. It was a holiday today, so I can understand being shorstaffed. However, communication is key.

The bad 1st.. The service was terrible. Slow, not attentive, and no clue who was our waitress. Food was good when it came out hot (had to ask for them to bring us hot rice and beans that was cold!) Corn tortillas were over cooked, crispy, and falling apart. Our queso was barley warm, we still had unmelted cheese in it. This was a spot that I saw videos for that I have been waiting to come check out. Sadly think the kitchen cooks were way off on our visit and the presentation that brought us just lacking / wasn t there. We went with dishes that gave us an assortment of selections to try a little bit of everything. However: Both of our sizzling plates were not sizzling. So much so that the plate itself wasn t hot, and the meat was luke warm at best. (It wasn t busy, so not sure if it sat to long, or if this is the normal) The food was hit or miss with really no in-between. So going to focus on what really stood out should you visit. Now the star of the show was the Carnitas! Holly cow, I normally don t like carnitas. But Camila s does this right! Talk about flavor! This is a must get. The runner up would be the Chicken Fajitas. They were just as good as what we would pick up from the Mexican Meat Market. Lastly the sausage was delicious as another item to the must order and try. Mentions: The Ribs and Wings would be the last items to mention. They had a great flavor, grilled, Smokiness, etc. Tips: Don t order the flour tortillas, that is unless you love an HEB equivalent of a Tortilla. Our server was wonderful and informative assisting us on what to order. We felt a lot of what was occurring wasn t on her performance but more the cooks. While that s all the positive notes. The Negatives: The floor was VERY slippery! How no one has slipped and fallen is beyond me. We saw at least 3 different people almost slip and fall. Along with ourselves. The Filet on a skewer was cold. As were the fajitas on a sizzling plate. (Not sizzling, no smoke, etc.) Hope this helps you to hopefully have a better experience than we did and order with an informed decision. Until next time.

In concept this place is really cool, modern mexican vibe. Beautiful location and large menu with every classic Tex-Mex dish. The service was not offensive by any means, just inexistent. Waitress was sitting in the booth in front of us chatting with a co-worker. Ordered an appetizer. It never came out after telling 2 different servers, and we were charged for it on our bill. After being informed, they fixed it with no problem, just a careless mistake at the end of the day. It could definitely be one of the best mexican spots in conroe, it Just needs a little work.

I really wanted to like this place, but there was nothing to like. It took our server 10 minutes to come to the table to greet us; that should have been the first sign. The food is below average. Guacamole is not fresh, tortillas are cold and store-bought, chicken has no flavor, rice and beans bland. Service was terrible. The food is also sorely overpriced; for $50, the fajitas better sizzle, and the food better be homemade. Go to Pappasitos and pay less for better quality. Good luck to Camilas, but we wont be back.

Tried this out on the recommendation of a friend of mine. Our server, Melody, was incredibly friendly and attentive. All of the staff we interacted with were great. Camilas blew me away with how good the food was. I ordered the Houston Burger, and it was easily one of the best burgers Ive ever had in my entire life. The fries were super crispy and tasty; I tried a piece of my friends fajita platter which was also delicious. If I could give the food a 6/5 I would. The price for the portion size was super reasonable. I will definitely be back!

I would highly recommend this place if you love amazing Tex Mex 2 months ago. I have been here several times and the amazing food totally made up for the absolutely terrible service. Since we started coming here we notice the servers like standing around the bar area or near the hostess station chatting it up. All the while it seems to take forever to get served and one time even sobered up it was taking so long to get the check. However, now the food quality is starting to decline rapidly. This will be the last time I will go there, at least for a while, with hopes their quality of service improves. They were pretty good at one point, but the best thing I had brought to me today was my coke. At least it wasn t flat.

6/9/2024 We went back today and the food and the wait staff were great! This was our sixth time here! First 4 times great food and service was excellent!. Last time we were here the service was not great and the food was not as good as before. We decided to try again today after church, the restaurant was mostly empty but had a 15 minute wait because they didn t have enough staff. First red flag. Service was good however the food was not so good. The salsas use to be excellent, today they had no flavor and seemed watered down. I ordered cheese enchiladas - thinking how could you mess up cheeses enchiladas. They came out with this brown bitter sauce called Colorado sauce, it s nasty. So after we are done eating I ask for the manager -a 18 ish year old girl comes to the table, I tell her the sauce in the enchiladas is bitter and horrible tasting! We also told her the salsas were not near as good as when they first opened! She said sorry. Unless things change, this restaurant will not make it!

My wife and I decided to try this spot because we had no idea what tex-mexi-que meant, lol. They essentially have a mexican twist of sorts on Texas Barbeque. The food options look and sound great, but the taste was underwhelming. I would say that the food is not worth the price. However, the service was great, and everyone was kind and friendly. There are plenty of options that we didnt try, so I would not actively dissuade people from giving it a shot. Although, personally, I do not see myself going again anytime soon.
