We stopped in after our mud run. Was a relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff. The Meat Wagon food truck has some pretty tasty food, a friendly smile and a whitty sense of humor! Next time i am in the area I will be stopping in!

Such a fun little bar!! Always have a great time here, and the bartenders do a great job taking care of a whole bar with just 2 of them. Bad reviews have to be from jerks, causing trouble. Tanya and Mickey are amazing.

Bartenders are rude and i was happy to be there up until it was multiple times. No wonder most of the time this place is empty i hear. Its location is kinda cool but not in exchange for a poor waitstaff. Btw i am a 20% tipper irregardless but learned my lesson twice here and wont be back.

I went there for the 1st time alone on a Saturday evening,Curious and thirsty. I was pleasantly surprised. I went directly to the bar had a seat and ordered a draft. Visiting from Washington i was happy with their prices. Half way into my beer someone noticed i was curiously looking around. Had a great conversation the bartender intoduced herself followed by a couple regulars. Went back yesterday for their catfish dinner with 2 of my Grandkids. Food was excellent, my 8 yr old had more fish and shrimp than me. Theres a gator and many turtles in the back pond. A gentleman quickly introduced himself and gave us an educated rundown. What a great place. I will definately be going back as i am moving to Conroe.....thanks

I went on Sunday. Enjoyed seeing all the HD motorcycles in front. There was a very good blues/RnR band playing. I really enjoyed their music. The place was fairly crowded and you had to wait in line to get a drink, but the music made the wait worth it. Beer was good and cold. I really enjoyed the place.

I come here all the time but will absolutely never be back again because of a bartender named Carly. We brought my niece here a week after her 21st birthday to celebrate. My niece is trans. Carly wouldn t allow her to drink or accept her ID because it has her LEGAL name on it and it doesn t match how she looks!!!! She even told us we were full of shit I will never be back. My mom even got married at this bar and all the other bartenders and owner are amazing. But because of this one bartender we will NEVER be back.

Backwoods! Not happy with your bar! The bikers that come into your bar are all packing! The atmosphere is way to serious! Your not a family bar! One of the bikers came up to my husband and asked where he is from! And not on a conversation basis level! It was just my husband and I enjoying dinner after a hard weeks work! But no! We ended up leaving do to all the biker hostility and drama! What a disappointment!

Very impressed with this place. I went for a dear friend s memorial on a Sunday afternoon. The bar is on a large piece of land with beautiful trees and wooded scenery. It s not too far off the freeway, but I felt miles away from the busy hustle of the city. Great service, big indoor AC cooled space with pool tables, covered outdoor open areas with bench seating, live band, delicious food and beautifully made drinks serious, the Bloody Mary is a meal inside a drink Fantastic! They have a fun bar with beer, liquor and wine. The waitstaff was on their A game the whole time and prices were great. They have a food truck right off the patio of one of the covered sections. The food was fantastic! I sampled a friend s catfish and I ordered the fried okra with ranch for dipping. Both were very tasty! I had food envy on the plate next to me. The guy had a Texas Cheese Steak with fries. It looked good and he said it was better than it looked. If I wasn t so full from my Bloody Mary meal and okra, I might have ordered something else from the food truck. I would like to go back now that I know what to expect. Highly recommend! I came to this bar and was forced by a biker gang to tip $200 on a $4 tab and then I was told to leave immediately. I was later beaten to a pulp by these same bikers at Golden Retriever bar off 1488. After $65,0000 of dental work and facial reconstruction I returned a year and a half later only to be confronted by the same man/biker gang. I refuse to let these degenerates ruin our beautiful city of Conroe. Do not support these thugs and if anything happens to me or my family after posting this I pray Conroe PD prosecutes the men responsible for the heinous acts they promised to commit if I or my family spoke out against them.

It is only getting better. I have been coming to Backwoods Saloon for many years and it only gets better. There are more areas for comfortable outdoor seating and a place for a food truck. When I was there a few of days ago it was Meat Wagon. Excellent bar food! I suggest putting Backwoods Saloon on your list of stops!
