I had the Seared Mexican Spced Salmon. It was excellent. Probably could have be pulled 30 seconds to 1 minute earlier, but really good. Service was on point. The atmosphere was exactly what you would hope for when trying someplace new. I would say its very different inside than most places. You should try it and see what you think

Not much attention when you dine alone. I like the place, okay. All their enchiladas are served with salsa roja. Wanted chicken with cream sauce. Ok. Covered with a nice cream and little green sauce. But the chicken is dry, made with red sauce. Tastes okay, but was chewy! Rice tastes ok, but spongy, like cheap rice. Beans, ok. Chips/salsa were great! Small queso is big and tastes great! Decent house margarita. Think they charged me $2 more than the menu.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant!! The food is excellent. Love the queso, fajitas and homemade tortillas. I live in McKinney and well worth the drive to Colleyville. Only compliant is the drinks on happy hour can vary in price depending on your server. The price on your website should be the price.

This restaurant is not a chain like Over The Border..the Z Top Shelf margarita is the bomb! No mixers..Queso Blanco my gosh, order the small! Great flavors and mixture of cheeses. The chimichangas..damn fine, went for combo of steak and chipotle chicken the bar is amazing, I lost count but looks like 35 high quality seats on 3 sides. 5 tv s to enjoy. Tried Zafiros for lunch. We were one of two tables in the entire restaurant. The atmosphere is great, with very nice comfortable chairs and booths. The pricing is reasonable. The food was just ok. I had the chicken fajita chimichanga. The chimichanga was tasty, although not exactly what I expected I enjoyed it. I wouldn t get excited to order it again but it was good. The rice was good as well but those refried beans are the absolute worst refried beans I ve ever tasted. They taste like they came out of a can and they tried to had some spices to give them some flavor. I m not sure what those spices were, I just couldn t place it, but they did not work. Our waitress said she hears that often but they are getting black beans soon so maybe they will be better. The service today was lacking a bit. It was very slow, especially for only having two tables. When we finished our meal I was sitting there looking around for our waitress as I hadn t seen her in a while. She never came back to check if the food was good or if we needed refills. We needed to leave to get to an appointment and needed the server to come by, but she was sitting at a table talking with another worker and when that worker stood up he could see me looking around and I think he told her I was looking around for her because she popped right up and came over to the table. I know it s somewhat difficult to time tables when the restaurant is slow so it didn t bother us all too much. Overall, I m not impressed by this restaurant but I will give it another try. Maybe dinner would be a better option.

I came in five minutes before closing and Brandon assured me that there would be no problem serving me. He sat me at a booth next to the bar where I was able to catch that Argentina and Columbian match. Which by the way was the proper way to decompress after celebrating Bastille Day all afternoon. Before I knew it there was a bowl of roasted salsa and chips on the table that prepped my palate for the food to come. I ordered the Carne Asada Clasico where the perfectly prepared skirt steak sat on a layer of tomatillo salsa and was accompanied with refried beans and Mexican rice. I was so impressed with the meal that I told Brandon that I would be coming in the next night and he suggested that I should try the flank steak. So the next night I was ready to settle for a plain ole margarita when I was asked if I had ever had a cucumber and jalapeno margarita. Well it doesnt take much to twist my arm and she had me at jalapeno. If you like complex flavors you should try one. Tasted so good my tongue slapped my brain! So I ordered the flank steak which I was told it was the owners mothers secret recipe. The marinade had a very pleasing flavor and the steak was grilled to perfection. The fresh Mexican corn and smashed potatoes with cheese were delicious as well. I seriously cannot recall enjoying a better meal. B O O M ! I just dropped the Mike!

The owner Joe Murphy is a real standup guy and truly cares about each and everyone of his guests and seems to be a kind man to work for as well. My server Brandon was very hospitable and knowledgeable. We never waited for anything unless we told him we wanted to. The kitchen manager was also very accommodating and you can tell he really loves his job! I had the snapper which was cooked to perfection and that lemon sauce on top was absolutely amazing. I had a hard time stopping my wife from using it all, dipping her shrimp in it. She had the surf and turf and I must say the steak here is marinated and seasoned perfectly. I ll have to come back and try the fajitas that being said. Very much enjoyed our raspberry margaritas and I was happy to see they had a bottle of Caymus available to our delight. The flan was absolutely the right way to cap off such a wonderful meal at a lovely restaurant. I left some photos and videos of our experience. Great date night! We went here last night for a duo birthday celebration with a group of about 10. Everyone really enjoyed their food and margaritas! We went at 5pm so it was pretty quiet and easy to hear everyone which was really nice. They have a great patio area that we are looking forward to checking out once it cools down some. I d give Zafiros 10 stars if I could. They made vast improvements to the food quality and price and NOW, the FOOD is amazing: a chef change, different options on the menu and lower prices. My son recommended this restaurant several times so we decided to visit. Approximately half full about 7:30 pm. Very attentive service throughout the meal. Meal was the triple enchilada plate with one each of shrimp, chicken, and beef enchilada, rice and beans. Ordered a side of street corn which was delicious. The chips and warm salsa were delightful. Drinks were well made. Perfect place for date night. Look forward to our next visit.

Saw this restaurant multiple times while working across the street. Looked so good. Always wanted to try it. Finally went in today with my family it was surprisingly almost empty considering it s cinco de mayo. After we were seated no one greeted us. Again confusing because there were VERY few tables being serviced. About 10 min in the hostess came by with water and chips and said she is not the server but was just getting things started for us and someone would come by. Another 10 min goes by and still no one even glanced our way so we decided to just leave. Sad I didn t get to try anything and that no one came by to even tell us there may be a delay. I m assuming they re short staffed or just inattentive because at the time it was low volume. I m saying this as someone who was a server for years. Sure way to lose a guest/customer. We went to Mexican Sugar and the service was top tier. Specifically Elizabeth. She s awesome.

In an area chock full of Mexican places, it s really hard to stand out. It was my first time here, so I only had one entree to sample. The interior is nice, but a little sparse. There is ample outdoor seating, but I tend to focus on the food and drink. I sat at the bar. The service was attentive enough. I got the house margarita and carne asada Classico. The house marg was actually quite good. The asada was a little overcooked. No pink in the meat compared to the pics posted on google. The bartender said it was a new chef and was a little apologetic. Overall, it wasn t a bad experience by any means, but with an extremely competitive cuisine, I didn t see anything to elevate them above everyone else. They need something unique as a hook to drive patrons there. The beef fajitas at La Hacienda or the Vallarta Del Mar at Rio Mambo are a reason I go to those places. Zafiros needs a similar dish, or at least point new customers to it if they already have a signature dish.

We went on a Friday night with advance reservation. Everyone was friendly. Waited about 20minutes for our table. Service was slow from the bar, but the margarita flight kept us smiling and were delicious. We were not in any hurry, so we had plenty of time. The food was DELICIOSO! We had queso blanca with ground beef added. For entrees, we had shrimp enchilada (my friend who doesnt particularly care for shrimp RAVED about this enchilada). I had Tequila Lime Pescado...HIGHLY recommended. And dessert was regular flan. Mmm mmm mmmmm.. Everything needed just a pinch of salt added. Not a quiet dinner spot. We enjoyed every minute. Ive driven by here at night many times and its been packed! I was driving by on my day off during lunch and decided to stop in and try it out. I got the house margarita on the rocks and it was very fresh and tasty! I ordered the combo plate that had a taco, an enchilada and a tamale with rice and beans. Portion was pretty good for the price and it was all very good! The chips and salsa they brought out was very good as well, smoky and spicy tasting. Had a great dinner tonight on Valentine s Day, which was also our first visit. Wonderful food and outstanding hospitality. The manager came to inform us they were out of the snapper I had ordered, but they d gladly comp me with an upgrade to a Valentine s special dinner plate of a filet or the Sea Bass. If you find yourself heading across the NE Tarrant corridor like we did the other day STOP at Zafiros!! We were just trying to wait out traffic and WOW what a margarita blessing this was?! I went to this place for Sunday Brunch and I was definitely not disappointed. The restaurant has a nice upscale but comfortable feel to it. James was our server, he is also a chef and was quick to help us with the menu. They seem to have it going on here, not a place to go if you are in a rush though. Wow. I have never been completely ignored before in restaurant. Well this place is absolutely horrible. We were greeted by the hostess who escorted us to a booth which was not cleared and she offered another booth by the bar. Over 10 mins passed and nobody came to get our drink orders. (Mind you the restaurant was maybe 30% full). I waved down 3 different servers, 2 ignored us and one who said they will be right with us. 15 mins have passed by now so we got up and left. The worst thing is that the owner of the restaurant was sitting at the table across from us. Maybe if he spent more time paying attention to his restaurant instead of partying and drinking with his friends the service would be decent. He only approached us when we walked out the door. He offered to buy us dinner, but dude you literally watched your staff ignore us for 15 mins and did absolutely nothing. It s sad because we live in Colleyville. If I could give zero stars I would. This place is rude and disrespectful. Don t reward jerks when they display this blatantly disrespectful service. So we went to Gloria s and the food and service was fantastic.

Sad it took us so long to try it, but thrilled that we finally did! Lovely atmosphere and absolutely delicious food! Queso was spot on! Hubby loved his plentiful chicken fajitas grilled to perfection and delicious fresh tortillas. I had the Tacos al Carbon and wow loved the beef that had a sweet (but not too sweet) flavor. Mexican corn and Pappas were mmmmmmm!!!! Ask for Katrina when you go! She was delightful in helpings us to navigate the menu! We were already talking about going back halfway through our meal! Eek! Oh, and the bar area looked like a perfect place to meet a friend for a drink!

This restaurant is a real gem!! We had an excellent experience with the food and service. My husband and I each had fajitas (beef and chicken). The food was prepared to perfection and came out quickly. Our server was extremely professional and a lot of fun too. We had an opportunity to visit with the owner, Joe,(always a treat to meet the folks behind the scenes). It was great to hear the story of how the restaurant came to be named and see the photos on the wall. We will definitely go back and take others with us!!

We dined here yesterday at first the server was a bit scattered I ordered Rose Sparkling wine she brought over Presseco and after when I said told her this is not I ordered she brought me the right wine. I ordered Fish Tacos I was waiting for my Rice and Beans they never came , when she came I asked where s my Rice and Beans? She said they were out of them but never bothered to say anything. We spent $328.98 including the wine that she brought which I never ordered. I do not recommend this place service was horrible considering the price. Owner was nice, Server Jazmin was confused when we would order something.

Hostess was warm and inviting. Savanna was our server. She made great drink recommendations. She was prompt and polite. She described the special so well that s what we ordered! We had the daiquiri which is fresh lime juice, agave and a block of ice. Spicy mango ceviche and the ribeye with lime butter served over decadent mashed potatoes and a side of yummy grilled street corn. Manager came and checked on us as well. Well done, like always!!!

I went here for the first time and the server was friendly from start to beginning. The atmosphere was laid back and with nice music playing in the background. I ordered the salsa trio and was great. For the entrée I ordered the fajita combo. Those were by far some of the best fajitas I tasted in a long time! They were flavorful, juicy and tender! I absolutely recommend the fajitas. I will definitely be going there again and again.

I ve been to some fancy places before and greatly enjoyed the service and food but I m sad to say this is NOT one of them. Salsa is bland and chips are cheap and if you want one of their other salsas then it will cost you $6 for their Salsa Trio . The margaritas are a bit over priced and weren t very good. The sirloin steak fajitas were subpar to say the least. Thought I would treat my dad to a nice Mexican restaurant that we hadn t been to before and was very disappointed that I chose this restaurant.

We spotted Zafiro s on our way home and decided to try it. We enjoyed a delicious and healthy meal, with some wonderful Sangria. The salmon was seared and seasoned perfectly, so it was juicy without adding sauce to it. The salad dressing that I ordered on the side, was so delicious. I ended up using it. We went to Zafiros with two other couples for a date night. It was the first time for all of us. We chose to sit outside on their lovely back patio. It is a touch small, but very comfortable, clean and laid out well. The area is surrounded by beautiful trees so you feel tucked back in nature and not in a concrete jungle. We ordered Queso Blanco and Guacamole Fresco as appetizers. The queso was flavorful and the right touch of cheesy, not too gooey or thick. The guacamole was embellished with what looked like beautiful thin red radishes, some sprouts and a drizzle of olive oil. I was hesitant to try it, because I thought perhaps the guacamole itself had been spruced up with extra goodies as well, but it was not. It was thick and creamy with excellent texture and tasted wonderful. Our entire group ordered fajitas. My husband and I split a single order of regular chicken fajitas. It came with 4 tortillas and was plenty to share. You can purchase extras for your order, like specialty meats etc. to bump up the dining experience, but we stuck with the basic grilled chicken. The meat came out sizzling on a bed of grilled onions and bell peppers. It was laid out beautifully and thinly sliced into bite sized medallions. It was not overly seasoned or distinctly flavorful. Basically grilled. It was quite tender and you could taste the gentle charring from the heat of the grill. The meat and veggies rolled up into the thin tortilla with all the toppings blended nicely. Accompanying sides included the usual dollops of cheese, sour cream, guacamole, rice and beans. Nothing fancy but every bit tasty. Each of us also enjoyed a margarita. I ordered the frozen sangria swirl. It was delightful. Not overly sweet. A nice, balanced blend of the frozen alcohol with a touch of sweet from the sangria. One couple in our party who ordered steak fajitas commented that they were flavorful, but the meat was a touch chewy. However, another couple ordered the Ribeye steak option and said theirs was very tender. I will say that I agree with other comments here regarding the small chip bowl size. We were given 3 bowls for the table of 6 but they were each about the size of a 10-12 ounce soup bowl. The waiter was good about refilling when we asked, but with the appetizers we ordered it would have been nice to have an additional bowl or two. Also, the margaritas were fairly small. They tasted great but were only about 8-10 ounces each. Just a heads up for you to be prepared as you may end up ordering TWO drinks each. They are rather delightful. I recommend checking out Zafiros for yourselves. Let s give Colleyville all the business we can! We will definitely be back to enjoy the lovely porch and delicious food - AND we will bring more friends to share the entire experience with.

My wife and I tried Zafiros for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint! She tried the Tequila Lime Pescado and loved it, I had the chefs special (fajitas made with chicken, beef short ribs and wagyu sausage). Both were very, very good. Ivy was our waitress and the service was fantastic from beginning to end. It is a little pricey, but the food is so flavorful that one taste and you know its worth it. The menu is very eclectic and its not the same old Tex-Mex you find on every block, on every street here. Were definitely coming back.

Ive been seeing a lot of comment about Zafiros on a Colleyville Food facebook page. Id like to give our experience as - Less than Stellar. It appears that it is more of a watering hole for cronies than a restaurant. The foods quality wasnt worth the prices charged but the bar was full, late afternoon, with lots of people who appeared to know each other. We may try it again, but it will be awhile.

I enjoyed Zafiros quite a bit. The service and staff were all great. Chips, salsa and guac were good. My steak was cooked and seasoned well, with really nice side of elote and potatoes. My wifes vegetarian enchiladas were better than most. Drinks were well crafted. I love it when casual restaurants have high standards. Its not as common as it should be. This place got everything right in an easy, casual environment.
