The food is great but joining the waitlist is a joke! they don t actually put you on the waitlist until you check in at the door. You might as well just show up and get on the waitlist in person. So, why have a join waitlist button?????? Tried having a discussion about this with the two hostesses and it was futile. Plus they were rude about it. Then 3 tables sat empty and dirty for about 20 minutes while we waited for a table. I joined the waitlist at 5:26 pm and finally got a table after talking to the manager at 6:45pm. Ughhh so frustrating.

Really good place to stop and eat period our server was fantastic. She was very profreshnal and expedient and taking care of us period my husband got enchiladas with red sauce and I got the flouters. Chicken flatos period everything came out hot and delicious. I think the sauce on enchiladas was probably a little too spicy for me and even my husband which likes spicy food period I didnt really care for the chili conqueso, but my husband seemed to like it very much period overall, really great. Highly recommend period

I am deducting a star because every time we go, our cups are dirty: there s stuff floating in the water, or we can see things in the inside of the glasses that we can scratch off with our straw. Asking for a new cup of water can get you an equally dirty cup. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly. They just need to hire a better dishwasher.

I don t usually do reviews on places that don t answer and judging from other reviews this one doesn t. We picked a bad time to try out this Chuy s. All the A&M students first weekend back. The place was busy and noisy. We sat down in the bar and should have stayed there because it was quieter. Our table was ready soon and we were seated next to a rather large family with routy kids and loud adults. Our server was good and quick. Food came fairly soon and was not bad. Had better from other Chuy s. We finally could take the kids no longer and ended our meal early. The server apologized and seemed sympathetic. We will go back and give them another chance. Not a good experience. Not sure what the manager did. He was visible but didn t seem to have a function.

2022:The lady at the door guided and sat us on a table in between the only two tables that were occupied in the room. We asked for a table on the other side and was denied. Is that even a thing here?? or for that matter in any restaurant open to public? She gave some random reasons. Later, the waitress moved us to a better table(I gave the waitress 20%+ tip and five stars). Only 1 star for the restaurant for hiring nasty gal at the front. Modified 8/5/24: Food is good as always. Its just the occasional nasty employees that taint one of my favorite texmex in town. So I change my review to 4stars instead 1.

Walked in and smelt like mold in the whole restaurant. The air conditioner was dripping on us so we had to move tables just for the other one to drip on us as well..they didn t refill our chips and we had to ask. The food took forever to come out and once it did, it was cold. The food wasn t enjoyable since it was cold and tasted like it was sitting out for a while. On top of that our waitress was high, and we told him we needed to leave because we had to get back in time for work so we asked for our checks early and then he proceeded to take about 10 minutes to get our checks to us, charge our cards and finally give it back to us.

Came here June 12th at 6pm. My friend has food sensitivity s and to be safe always orders kids meals at restaurants including this one in the past. She tried to order one today and the waiter rudely told her she can t order what she wanted and we asked for an alternative way to order and still refused. On top of that the waiter had a rude attitude after that. I m very disappointed I don t think this is a reflecting of the restaurant just the waiter itself, she needs to be trained that people don t just order kids meals to be cheap and that there are real medical reasons behind it, we even offered to pay more for the kids meal. She did not end up ordering any food that day. Very inappropriate behavior on the waiters behalf. - waiters name was Leah.

Blackberry margarita is delicious and food is decent. But service here is less than stellar. Was seated in a high traffic area of the main dining room and it took the server more than 15 minutes to bring out water/chips and initially greet us. In fact, we were gathering our menus to move ourselves to the bar, thinking maybe we were just overlooked (no biggie), as the server finally approached our table to greet us. I ordered a margarita and when it arrived, I took a few sips and passed it across the table for my daughter to taste. Out of mid-air, the manager appeared, and without a hello or anything required to see my daughters ID. I informed the manager that this was my daughter (knowing she was of age anyway and it didnt matter). Manager told me it didnt matter to TABC and they could lose their liquor license for her tasting the margarita. After researching on my own after dinner, I realize thats false information. The manager left after being appeased by my daughters valid ID. We sat there a few minutes and then I requested to speak with her again as I began to process the events tgat just unfolded. I couldnt believe we sat for 15 minutes without even a water to drink, but my daughter takes one sip from a marg and someone magically appears within SECONDS (it was startling!) to interrogate us. Of course the manager didnt listen to my concerns at all and gave excuses for her poor management skills in how shes handling this situation- showing 0 customer service skills. This is our last trip to this location. We will take our business down the road to businesses that care about their guests and listen to them in order to meet their needs; not make excuses in order to validate their lackluster behavior.

Consistently getting items wrong or forgotten about. Today was the last straw after having to wait 45 minutes for my drink (what we came there for). They had lost my ticket. Now, the waiters and waitresses there are indeed trying their best. But they are spread way too thin. Regardless, it affects the service and experience. It sounds like a management and staffing issue. On that note, the manager refused to come out to speak to anyone or even apologize about the situation. Why would anyone want to eat somewhere where the management doesnt care if the experience was good or not?

Overcrowded. My Chicken Fajita salad wasnt good. Seems like there was a whole head of Lettuce, half of a diced tomato. 3-4 half strips of chicken.. they forgot to bring my salad dressing. My daughters steak on her panchos was cold.. as long as we waited for our food.. this was a disappointment to receive cold steak. My frozen margarita was watered down.. it too took a while to get to me, by the time I received it you could tell it had been prepared & sitting for a while before making it to me. Our waitor was polite.. very busy.. to be expected due to the Overcrowd.

Chuy s has always been a go to choice for me and my family for as long as I can remember, but not anymore thanks to the manager Ryan who likes to wear Hawaiian shirts to work. First of all, our server came to our table a total of 3 times during our 50 minute long stay. Then when we go to pay, we use a MANAGER ISSUED GIFT CARD that was given to us and Ryan begins to tell us that the card has no balance. We go back and forth explaining why we got the gift card and who we got it from, and he then goes on to tell us we were lying and that managers have no way of issuing gift cards to customers . Instead of understanding our explanation, Mr. Hawaiian shirt Ryan tells us we can pay the bill in full and walks away mumbling under his breath (I hope he doesn t do that at home with his wife). Anyways, Ryan needs to learn some professionalism on how to handle these things and how to dress for work.

Delicious TexMex at decent prices. It is more of a local college student haunt than just local families. If it s your first time, ask to sample the many sauces and they will bring you a large platter with them all to sample! Boom Boom sauce is my favorite. The jalapeno ranch is also amazing! They have curbside pick up. Service is fine. I always enjoy my food and have leftovers to take home! Parking: Lots of parking is available. Since it is by the mall, if their lot is full, park by BJs or closer to the mall.

Prompt to be seated and waited on. Ordered fajita beef Tacos Al Carbon and they were served with almost done strips of beef, none of which was edible. Man oh man, how I absolutely LOVE that this restaurant has been giving smaller amounts of chips to carry out. Today we got home and we DIDNT even have a quarter of the bag. This is pathetic as they continue to raise the cost of the exact SAME food, yet give you less of it. By the time I took a handful of chips, then my wife, all that was left were a couple chips and crumbs. Chuys, please do not be so greedy when we, the consumers, pay for your food. Give us what we pay for! If you guys and every other restaurant want to keep jacking up your prices for the SAME food, then at least give bigger portions. Oh, and do not miss the Creamy Jalapeño with your chips. I put it in and on everything Chuys serves. Wish I had their chips and Creamy Jalapeño right now, come to think about it. Creamy jalapeño is The Best! I started going to Chuy s in the 80s, not long after they opened. Been to many locations in at least two States. It is comfort Tex-Mex, and never disappoints. While you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, my go-to favorites are the Panchos (I get fajita chicken), or the Chicka-chicka boom-boom. Their seasonal offerings are worthy, and hatch green chili season is my favorite. The margaritas are delicious, too, with the summertime Watermelon one with a Tajin rim being muy deliciosa!

We had the beef fajitas and ckn quesadillas. I added the boom boom sauce to add to my beef fajitas and it took it to a whole new level of flavor, which I highly recommend. Chuys is always a great value for the money, and I highly recommend.

Wide body tacos go burrrrrrrrr. For a chain, always solid Tex-Mex. It s hard not to fill up on chips and salsa before the entree. Super kid friendly. Call ahead to check wait based on party size.

I called to place a to go order and I don t eat beef so I wanted the kids tacos to be with fajita chicken. Why do I have to pay extra because I don t eat beef I think that s really stupid and why do I have to pay for chips and salsa when it comes with chips and salsa, just because I m getting it to go. It s giving y all are money hungry and I d rather take my coins some place else. Ridiculous -0/10

Chuys pretty much never disappoints. The staff are upbeat and helpful. Our waiter, Caleb, did a great job of listening to us and predicting our needs and requests before we asked! The food was the right temp, fresh out of the kitchen. Great flavors and options! Its a loud spot, so not the best place for intimate gatherings or chats. But over all, great place we hit frequently- whether dine in or curbside. Dietary restrictions: My daughter is GF and loves the Baja shrimp tacos (grilled) on corn tortillas. Perfect, tasty option!

I love love love the chips and queso! I was not a fan of the sauce on my enchiladas and my waitress brought me another option sauce. The drink I had was very delicious. Ill try the establishment again, but will most definitely ask questions about the sauce!

Usually I love Chuys, its a beautiful atmosphere and great for the family. However, our service was terrible. Our waiter Shiloh barely came to our table and was rude when he eventually did. When he finally gave us our food it was cold! Im not one to make a fuss but when you go out you expect good customer service, and Shiloh did not deliver..

I came to pick up my order that I ordered through DoorDash and Chuy s told me a dasher already picked it up. Chuy s manager considered the order fulfilled and blamed DoorDash for the mistake. Since it was supposedly not the restaurant s fault, they wouldn t make my order even after checking my receipt. Chuy s manager asked me to contact DoorDash for a reorder. DoorDash said they tried to call but Chuy s didn t pick up. I asked Chuy s they said no one called. A simple situation is an absolute mess. We re late. We don t have time to order from somewhere else. I asked DoorDash to call again and the restaurant placed DoorDash on hold. Regardless of who made this mistake, which I still don t understand, Chuy s chose to do business with DoorDash - a paying customer shouldn t be caught in the crossfire. I don t want to hear a manager go on and on and on complaining about DoorDash as the reason for not helping me. Just help. And don t do business with DoorDash if you find it s making you lose money and fighting with them is worth more than servicing your customers. And after all that, they remade the WRONG order for me.
