**** UPDATE******* This place is a regular for us before OPAS or a TAMU sporting event. Sushi Masa is as good today as it was when we first came here. We Used to see the manager a lot more often but things seem good from my perspective. The food was fresh, the salads were excellent and the sushi and sashimi were tasty. We discovered the shaggy dog roll. Out of this world. A little spicy, a little crisp. ***old review*** Ok I fell down on the job. Usually I have pictures of every course and we ll articulated descriptions of each thing we eat. After all it was all you can eat sushi so expectations were low. However, we were amazed at each and every dish. It was so good I forgot to do the review. On my next visit I will revise this review and provide much better information. In short we recommend the mango wrapped tuna, the eel unagi and everything else was also exceptional. The rice was fresh, not hard or stale or vinegar tasting like some sushi restaurants. This place is a category killer when you are in the Bryan/College Station area. If you get here and can t find my review just ask for Kimberly as your culinary escort. She has amazing descriptions and suggestions and she did not miss on one recommendation. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We finished with the green tea and chocolate ice cream with tempura bananas.

Review Title: A Flawed Gem Our dining experience at Sushi Masa - College Station was initially a delightful affair, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by our bartender, John. His upbeat demeanor, extensive knowledge of the menu, and ability to craft truly unique cocktails were a highlight of our evening. The sushi and other dishes we ordered were equally impressive, showcasing a harmonious blend of flavors and fresh ingredients. Unfortunately, the evening took a sharp downturn with the arrival of the manager, Billy. While she did not directly interact with us, her overt discomfort with Johns energetic and engaging personality was palpable. Her seemingly disapproving glances and muttered comments, such as her remark, I hope somebody is paying for that, created an atmosphere of tension that significantly diminished our enjoyment of the evening. It is a shame that such a negative encounter marred what had otherwise been a memorable dining experience. While we appreciate the efforts of John and the kitchen staff, we cannot overlook the detrimental impact of the managers behavior. It is our hope that the restaurant will take steps to address this issue and ensure that future guests are not subjected to such a disappointing experience

Im on a carnivore diet. They have all you can eat sushi, sashimi, etc for $33. I probably ate 4 lbs of amazing quality sashimi: scallops, salmon, smoked salmon, yellowtail, clam, & steak. The quality was very surprising. I can drive to college station, pay for a hotel, and eat sushi at masa all for less than sushi costs me in Austin. Dietary restrictions: Meat only

Our waiter, Cully ( like Sully but with a C ), was absolutely delightful! 10/10 service; he was patient and helpful with our numerous questions. The restaurant was lovely; the decor surprised us, and it was really pleasant! We got the sushi buffet for dinner; they have a crazy large list of options, so I imagine it would be a good fit for everybody! Overall, I recommend :)

Service was great. The selection of the all you can eat sucks!! It tasted good, but they definitely gave you less choices during lunch. And they will charge you extra for every little thing!! If you dont eat the rice they charge you, if you dont finish everything you ordered they charge you!! All the sushi has lots of fillers like cream cheese and rice. A trick to fill you up faster. They use to have better choices of soups, sushi, sashimi, appetizers, desserts, and other food items. They took half the menu choices away for lunch!! Definitely not worth the $20 for an all you can eat!! Very disappointed!!

This is my go to place when I m in College Station and it hits every time! Like seriously, all you can eat for $32.00!!! The food is great and the service is fast. My only complaint is that the food comes out too fast and as soon as I start eating one thing my next order is staring me down . I could sit here all day and eat if they allowed. What s even better is during my last visit, I brought my 11yr with me from Dallas and he is also sold. Now I know that this is truly a family friendly place and when the entire family visits CS with me, we have a place where we all can have what we like. I ll definitely be back soon!

We visited tonight for dinner and the sushi was good but not great. It is about as you would expect for all you can eat sushi. We had to send some tuna back because it smelled not fresh. But they happily remade it and were very prompt. In fact the food comes out so fast its like their sushi chefs are telepathic when you order. Our waitstaff and the food runners are all A+. The restaurant atmosphere is also tasteful and nicely decorated but the bathrooms were smelly and dirty. Also the all you can eat sushi including one alcoholic drink is a great deal.

First, we came on a weekday, wait time was quick and less than 15 minutes to be seated. The atmosphere is beautiful and the decor suits the restaurant very well. Second, the quality of food was great! Very fresh, well seasoned and sushi was very good! I chose the all you can eat option and there were a LOT of options to choose from. For an all you can sushi place, I was surprised to see how fresh the food was. Finally, service was very sub-par. The waiter rarely checked on our table besides placing orders for the all you can eat menu. Never did they come by and refill our drinks. We had to say something and ask for refills. In addition, the table was FULL of empty plates and not once did he stopped and cleared our table. He walked by our tables numerous times and didn t bother acknowledging the overflowing table of empty plates. A busser saw our table and took the initiative and took our plates. Kudos to them for that above and beyond customer service. Overall, I would come back to this place for the food and atmosphere but the server definitely needs to be retrained on proper steps of service. Food was delicious. My husband and I shared a beef teriyaki box with spicy shrimp scampi appetizer. The gyoza was superb, usually places really miss that. The beef was fantastic. The sushi was alright. Our appetizer didnt come out till like 10 min after we were done eating, we never saw our server the whole time and noone else came up to us despite there being twice as many employees as customers that morning. When he finally came back he was very apologetic. Nice, but it would have been good to know there may have been a problem sooner or even get our drinks filled. The restraunt looked very clean, but my side of the table got something sticky on my arm.

Wasnt very busy, three out of the four orders were wrong and nobody caught them. The portions were plenty but the proportions were wildly off. For example, standard roll with a whole quarter of a large avocado. The protein portions were standard, veg was off. Some of the roll diameters were huge. Its not only sushi here, but also hibachi and other dishes. But the all you can eat sushi is the best deal in my opinion. Its a great price for all you can eat! 10/10 definitely recommend! Sushi masa is a cozy and comfortable place to eat. The atmosphere is cute which has the Japanese theme. Recommend for nice dinner with your significant other. I was extremely disappointed coming here. I was rushed to make my orders for the all you can eat sushi, and one of the runners began slamming dishes on my table and yelling like a petulant child. The manager on duty, as well as the server, didnt know the menu, which led to my girlfriend getting the wrong sushi. It was a horrible experience. We went with a party of 10 for iftar on a friday night. We were a bit concerned with serving speed, as it was friday and busierthan usual, but the kitchen staff were very successful and fast. We all ordered all you can eat, and we had almost no problems with any of our orders. Aside from some soups and 3 sushi orders being late, which is to be expected with such a large party, everything was perfect. Special thanks to our server, William. He took excellent care of us for 2 hours straight. Congratulations to the managers for hiring such talented chefs and waiters, and for running such a fine establishment. They use tilapia and call it red snapper. Edit: they responded saying they only use quality ingredients.. I know this is a lie especially when I saw the tilapia PACKAGING thawing behind the sushi bar. REAL red snapper also has an entirely different texture and it is insulting to think they can pass off bottom feeding cheap fish for snapper. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! **I guarantee the only confusion is them not being able to tell the difference between izumidai (tilapia) and madai (red snapper)**

I got the All You Can Eat buffet. At the end I noticed they charged me for a ton of stuff (Scallops, Fried Cheese Cake, Fried Oreos). I d been to the restaurant once before for dinner, and the deserts were included in the All You Can Eat. Apparently for lunch, it s different. The menu is two sides, and only one side is included under All You Can Eat. The other side has price tags. I assumed those were the prices if you DIDNT buy the All You Can Eat. This was supported by my prior experience eating desert for free under the All You Can Eat. I told the waiter about the issue, and he told the manager. The manager dryly said So you want me to take off the charge because you misread the menu? I maintain that I did NOT misread the menu - the literal content of the menu, combined with my past experience at this restaurant, led me to believe the All You Can Eat covered both sides of the menu - so the most I would accept is that I misunderstood the menu - and even then, the deal doesn t say this side only or anything like it. Anyway, I more or less gave up right then and there, but after she walked away, our waiter said the owner was getting involved. The manager brought me an amended receipt with the deserts taken off, but not the scallops. The manager chastised me a little further, like I was trying to swindle free food or something. Shoutout to our waiter Emmanuel for being cool about it. The Gyoza was bomb, too. Probably not coming back though.

We eat out a lot (which may not be budget friendly or healthy, but we love to try different foods and restaurants!) College Station in general is not known for good food. Normally, the food there is subpar. Sushimasa has blown up this realty. It is one of my top restaurants to go to. Food is fresh. The seafood soup has actual medium-sized scallops!! The unique salmon skin salad is delicious (if u r into cucumbers)! For those that don t eat raw fish, they also have teriyaki beef and chicken. These are very small portions, so order a few orders together initially to start. We had a party of 6 and were seated in a nice booth. Atmosphere is very tranquil and pretty. For a reasonable price ($33/person), we ordered all-u-can-eat. It comes with an alcoholic drink or refillable soda, 2 pages of items to order from, and delicious desserts. For dessert, we ordered the the fried cheese cake, green matcha / strawberry ice creams, and fried bananas. Highly recommended.

Came here for the first time with my wife and friends for lunch. Whether you can eat a lot or not, doing the all-you-can lunch or dinner buffets isa must. The lunch is $21 and the dinner is $33. They serve different things. We got the lunch because at the time, we didnt know they served the all-you-eat dinner all day. It is not like a buffet setup, but more like an all-you-can order type style. It was definitely worth it and I definitely at for 3-4 people so I made my money back. The all-you-eat lunch special also comes with refillable soft drinks or tea while dinner is the same or your first free alcoholic beverage. We ordered so much different types of sushi that I dont remember all the names of each one. They do have a large selection. Although I came from a place like Hawaii, fresh fish will never be an option here in Texas, buuuuut considering that, this place actually did really well in serving delicious sushi that was very flavorful. They also had some sushi that are off the menu so if youre interested, just ask. It might cost an additional $1-$2 more for it. I ordered soft shelled crabs which are one of my favorites. The unagi (eel) and inari (bean curd) are favorites as well. Our waiter, John was amazing and friendly. He walked us through everything and answered all our questions and went the extra mile in researching some of the questions he couldnt answer on his own. Parking is large and theres a lot of tables to dine at. The ambience is cozy and nice with fake cherry blossom trees. Overall, so far, the best affordable AND deliciously combined places here in the BCS for sure.

Awesome staff, food and service. FINALLY a Sushi Buffet has come to town! It has been over 48 hours and I am not sick. I will definitely be going back again with my wife and kids. $22 is a great lunch buffet deal. That includes a drink and ice cream.

First time at Sushi Masa, we had a party of three. We arrived around 6:30pm on Friday, March 1, 2024. We did not wait long to be seated, less than 15 minutes. The food is very good! We love having Dillon as our server. The all you can eat option, is price exceptionally well, with your drink included. Will definitely come back again!

I visited this restaurant for the first time with a party of 8 and a few first timers,and I can t wait to go back! I had the All-You-Can-Eat to try as much as possible and you bet every plate was clean. Everyone was impressed at not only how much I was eating but the presentation of the food which kept surprising me with every time.Everything was delicious! I had the Merlot wine Bubba Gump Roll, 225 Roll, 1-10 Roll, Miso Soup, Calamari, Pineapple Fried Rice,Fried Oreos Tempura Cheesecake and I still had room for more. My husband came here today for the all you can eat sushi lunch special. The price is very fair for the amount of rolls and other items that were offered. This was the perfect opportunity for me to try rolls I have never had before. I only ate 2 rolls but both were good and I had a miso soup, fried rice, broccoli and shrimp tempura and a drink. My husband on the other hand had 4 or 5 rolls with tempura and other items. The service was also amazing and our waitress made sure we were always taken care of.
