We ordered 4 different rolls and 3 of them tasted the exact same. The octopus was fishy. Elevator music was so aggravating and loud. The place also strangely smelled like pizza. After our meal the waiter cleaned the table and we waited about 20 minutes or so for the check. They had including our table only one other table with people, so no reason to be so slow. The waiters just stood up talking acting like they don t see people waiting. For the price it was very disappointing. We won t be visiting again, too many better options.

a real asian here. For this area in Texas, have to say... i wasnt sure what to think even though it looks enticing everytime i drive by... the flavors were really really good. i didnt even need to add anything sauce or extra anything to it, even i normally do. yes, the other review that says its the same ingredients over and over is somewhat true, but there are some good ones if you read close enough. i got the tiger roll and spicy tuna, though i think it was just the tuna... nonetheless, it was delicious! there were minor issues with technical things that had no reflection on the food or service. despite a loud woman who came in and got everything roud up, this is a place that i would definitely visit again!

The food was presented beautifully, and it tasted amazing. Definitely will come back soon! Dietary restrictions: I asked to add cream cheese to my yesterday roll (which was delicious). The waiter informed me that you can add or remove any ingredient from the roll.

Its 5 PM, I am coming by after work, the sign says open but there is no one inside. I waited about 10 minutes by the hostess station, and I dont really mind waiting to be seated or for food, but they came out and told me they were too busy and wouldnt serve me. Theres no one in the restaurant, so maybe theres online orders? But Ive never been turned away from an empty restaurant like this.

Dissappointed with our visit. Average quality sushi with poor service. They did not notify us that auto gratuity was applied to our bill. We have never been somewhere that counts young kids towards the auto gratuity. The soda was low on syrup and they just told us thats how it was supposed to taste. We wont be back.

Its the third time Ive been there when the sushi chef will not lift his head to look at me or any one else. I sat at the sushi bar right in front of him and he ignored me, and he was not busy making orders. That behavior is very unwelcoming, I will not go back there to eat again.

I was very disappointed with my dinner. I have been looking for Sukiyaki. This came out in a bowl full of broth with maybe four slices of beef, no mushrooms tons of green bell pepper, a few onionand some tofu. This was not your traditional sukiyaki. I cant eat green bell peppers, so I had to pick them all out, the menu didnt say that it had green bell peppers in it, traditional Sukiyaki does not. A questioned the waitress about it and she asked the owner who told me that was traditional sukiyaki. I beg to differ since my mom was born in Tokyo and Ive been to Japan 14 times, I know Sukiyaki, and this was not it. The beef was overcooked, very tough. While holding it with your Chopstick you could not bite into it you basically had to grab it with your fingers and pull to get a bite. I also had a few pieces of nigiri, the eel was great, the Maguro was very small, the tamago was good.

Steamed rice was hard as rocks. Ordered Karaage bento box and this was the first I tried Karaage that was white meat. It s usually thighs for more flavor but not this place. Dinner portion on poke bowl was not much difference than lunch portion just more sides. Dissatisfied. Server was also not friendly and didn t refill my drink. Was not my first time here but definitely my last.

Ordered the following to go: chicken fried rice, fried calamari, caterpillar roll, California roll, sushi appetizer. Was a little over 50$ and was extremely disappointed. I think many of the high ratings come from people who havent really been outside the Brazos Valley Bubble or havent gone to other places. The fried calamari was extremely bland, it didnt even taste like it had salt. The portion was really small. For about 10$, I expected more than exactly 10 pieces. It appears that they probably count exactly how many pieces each order gets, which means its 1$/piece, which is insane considering it was so under flavored. They are definitely penny pinching. The fried rice was average. The menu: the menu is huge but most of the actual roles have the same ingredients over and over again or when they finally have a different ingredient, its mixed with something like jalapeno. The variety is actually lacking for the quantity of sushi rolls they have. Its just most of the same ingredients over and over again with a different add on here and there. The sushi: the fish tasted old and fishy for most of the pieces (except the California roll, but its hard to mess that one up). I get CStat is fairly inland, but Ive tasted better sushi elsewhere (Naked Fish, etc are some places that come to mind). We shouldve just stopped inside HEB and gotten fried rice from the freezer isle and the sushi from HEBs Sushiya. It wouldve certainly been cheaper and it wouldve been the same quality.

We went here for the first time. It was a late lunch, so it wasnt very busy. The service was great. We got shrimp and veggie tempura as an appetizer. It was good. I did find out that I am not a fan of eggplant tempura. The tempura sweet potato needed a little more cooking time. We got three rolls and a beef teriyaki bento box. One of the rolls was a Daniel roll, and it was really good. We really enjoyed everything, and are looking forward to our next visit. They do need to change their music. The elevator music was hard to sit through for a whole meal.

This is just my experience so dont come for me lol: I wish I could post the video here of the sticky floors but literally every step I took my flip flops stuck hard to the floor because of how unclean they were. They employees all have miserable looks on their faces and after seeing how harshly the owner/manager was speaking to them I could see why. I just dont recommend for those reasons.

This place is amazing. I was never a big fan of Japanese food because it didnt have any spice to it. Come to find out, that was just my half-Japanese ex-wife who thought pepper was too spicy, and never put any seasoning in the Japanese food shed make. This restaurant seasons PERFECTLY, and made me realize just what I was missing. I tried it after the divorce just to see what its SUPPOSED to taste like, and this place did it PERFECTLY. Def worth 5 stars. And I NEVER give 5 stars. Im one of those ppl who believe theres no such thing as a 5 star rating, because nobodys perfect. These guys are perfect.

Kamei Sushi & Grill is fantastic! Tucked into the shopping center, and just around the corner from H E B, this little gem is a keeper. The chef runs a tight ship, and her fish is a better quality than I have seen or tasted in larger, fancier establishments. She makes exquisite dishes and is the only one behind the sushi bar. The dishes that come from her kitchen are equally as perfect. Visit Kamei when you want true Japanese fare, not just a chain sushi restaurant. Enjoy!

I love eating here and I go here at least twice sometimes three times. My only issue is the consistency. Sometimes the portion size is generous and sometimes it s smaller and this time it was rolled differently. When I asked about it today the lady who rung me up about it her response was Well it doesn t matter. which is really kind of rude. Actually it does matter since I m spending my money here. May be a while before I return since she was kinda rude about it.

We used to go here quite often, but the quality has declined dramatically! I understand that due to covid businesss have trouble surviving, which is why we wanted to support the local economy. Besides the poor quality and portion size, we got charged $5 extra for salad and soup that used to come with it complimentary. After asking, why the extra charge, we were told to take it or leave.

Ordered the Chicken fried rice and as soon as I opened it I noticed a caricaturally large amount of onions. There were so many I decided to count the amount of onions compared to chicken. There was 20 small pieces of chicken compared to 72 onions. I think maybe they thought I ordered the Onion fried rice. That s the only thing I can think of

This is my boyfriend and I s favorite sushi place in Bryan/College Station! We eat here for most of our dates, always getting delicious sushi rolls that are reasonably priced. Usually paired with edamame, fried rice, and some good wine. The staff is always so polite and the atmosphere is always very pleasing (never too crowded or loud). Perfect place for lunch or dinner if craving good food!

Our waitress was super funny and sweet, wish I knew what her name was. The spicy garlic edamame was lit, my miso was delicious, and all the rolls and pieces we tried were superb. My fiance said his udon was really good as well. The sake wasnt great but we ordered the cheapest one so next time well get a better one. Definitely worth the price and will be choosing Kamei as our sushi place in the future.

Probably the best sushi I have ever had. Decently priced lunch menu. Great dining experience. I love to take my wife here for special occasions Not much on the menu except sushi so make sure you like that before you go here. Wait staff is the friendliest no matter who we get. One of my favorite places in college station. I love the sushi, soup, and salad. Amazing prices all around and the dressing for the salad is so delicious. I don t think I ve had a bad thing here. Whether you get it to go or eat it there it s all good. On top of that the service is also excellent.

From a purely sushi standpoint it is standard, straightforward and well done. It is not Uni, Nobu or Uchi but it is very clean and fresh. Owner is almost always present and very friendly. I believe it is the best sushi in College Station.
