I came twice to this restaurant only because of food, so a big shout out to the cooker, other than that service is terrible from from waitress, atmosphere is fun with all the details but theyre all old and dirty there is dust everywhere you look, I went eat outside the first time and there was flys everywhere and they dont seem to do anything to try to scare them (theres devices that do that) tables are all scratch, cups are all and broken its just an old, dirty, broken, unorganized, no good customer service, but fun to look at with with food place. If it wasnt for the cooker, this place would be terrible.

Loved it, Loved it, Loved it! What great atmosphere, service, drinks and food! Everything was amazing! The Tropical vibe just made me smile. We ordered the chicken quesadillas and they had such wonderful flavor. Yes they have some amazing looking seafood on the menu but the quesadillas are the best we ve had in Galveston. I plan on the seafood next time we re in Galveston. Fun place to eat. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Went to Huli Huli Hut, in Galveston ordered fish and shrimp platter $26, I RECEIVED 1 PEICE OF FISH 4 SHRIMP then ordered snowcrab clusters $30 for 2, added sausage and 2 eggs. Well I received 2 tiny snowcrab clusters, NO EGGS, NO SAUSAGE THAT I PAID FOR. MY BILL WAS A FEW DOLLARS FROM $70 BUCKS. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They didnt give me a receipt for some odd reason, but I paid with my debit card and have records.

We have been wanting to try this place, as many people have told us it was a must try. Tonight was not good. The music was so loud that you could not hear the person next to you. We sat at our table waiting for a server for 15 minutes to order drinks, when my husband went to the hosts stand to ask who was assigned to our table. Our server had been standing at the hosts stand talking the whole time! The food was just ok, nothing that is worth trying again. In the end, our server continued to walk by our table multiple times without even glancing in our direction. Then, he would go to a corner and text on his phone. Then, he would go behind the bar and talk with all the employees over there. He went from him texting on his phone, socializing at the bar, and not checking on us until we tracked him down. It made for a not-so-pleasant dinner. To make matters worse, we had guests with us. Im not sure we will return.

Maybe its a post Cat 1 storm, but we got sat in pretty short order which was probably the only positive experience we had. 1. Waitress was too busy, no name, no waters, all upon request. 2. 1.5 hours into waiting, we had only received half our app order, with excuses following such as other big parties are tying up the kitchen. 3. At this time, which was around 9pm, we advised we were leaving. The manager was immediately defensive, advised either we pay for the few drinks we had or they would call the police. [Yes, we had children with us] Overall, could be someone on a bad day, trying to recover from the hurricane, or just understaffed. But we should have been informed that they knew orders would take >2 hours and not take the stance we are the absurd ones for not wanting to wait any longer for first rounds. Yes, we paid for the drinks, but we will never recommend this establishment.

The Redfish we brought in was amazing and everything was pretty great. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 was they considered us a big party we had 6 people So they automatically charged 20% gratuity and I believe since the waiter knew that he failed to refill drinks and get us our final checks because he wasnt working for a tip the service was lacking 7-15-24 I changed this to 5 stars, because we have been there at least 3 more times since the first one and they are actually super! Caught a blacktip shark and some gafftopsail catfish and they fixed them up great and it was amazing!

My mother and my aunt happened upon Galveston by chance and we had to eat at the Huli Huli Hut. It was so freaking awesome! The crab tasted so good and the lobster was also just as good! I had a crab and shrimp. Boil with potatoes and corn on the cob.!!! Yeah I am that s when you get that fresh gulf seafood with some creole kick! Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely was wheelchair accessible for me :) I wheel myself in a manual wheelchair. No ramps or threshold. And my chair is 36 inches wide and fit fine through the doors.

I cant review the food as I was never served therefore was unable to order anything. Besides the fact that Google said not busy there was only outside seating which is sticky picnic tables. Placed an order over the phone, was told it would be ready. Then was asked to supply My Card information, I said no. Was told okay pay $15.16 when u get here food will be ready. She never placed the order. Allegedly you have to prepay for ur order. She couldnt even say that much. Ranch was too runny with no flavor, wings were moist and not traditional in any light. Was helped by 1 waitress immediately upon entering, about 10mins later was approached by another worker who passed by me several times,then finally asking if I needed help. Communication is key. I came in with my other 3 siblings. When we first got there it was fine. Our server Donna was obviously irritated just by our presence and I understand the frustration being a server myself, but her behavior was unacceptable. My brother simply asked her for a Dr. Pepper and she walked off mumbling under her breath. So disappointed in the the food and drink. It was a night out for myself. Not to much I rode the ferry a few times. Decided on this place because I wanted some seafood. The drink Tito s Punch wasn t good. It tasted watered down, you couldn t taste the alcohol or what ever movers were in there. I just let it sit in the table. The hot and spicy peel shrimp taste like water and butter. I got butter garlic and mild seasoning. There was no garlic flavor and there was no seasoning. I had to ask for seasoning, there wasn t a pinch of it anywhere. The potato that was in the bowl had no specs on it. I would have been more pissed had I gotten the bowled seafood I really wanted, I just noticed there were no smells coming from the kitchen so I was worried. I was going to start there then get the boiled crawfish, crab and more shrimp. The prices are ridiculous for non seasoned food. I just can t, I washed my money. I did t want to leave a tip but it s wasn t the waitress s fault. She knew I didn t like it when she asked, because my face gave it away. I was trying to keep it together. Ok... This is now my favorite spot on the island! We just moved here and was told to try Huli Huli Hut and I am beyond glad they did! The food was AMAZING! The wait staff was awesome and its such a neat hole in the wall sort of atmosphere. I mean that in a good way! Not to mention, the prices are great. That whole plater pictured here was on $24.99. Thats 2 pounds of crawfish, 2 crab, shrimp, corn, potato, etc... You just cant beat it! Busy Happy Hour scene. We ate outside and was served quickly. Friendly and good service. I tried some different food items such as: the stuffed jalapenos with a chipotole sauce ( good), the chicken strips (thin and dry).. did not care for even on the happy hour menu. Pass on the ranch it seems cheaply made. Burger was great! Hell fries looked good, yet when we received them from the kitchen the cheese sauce was cold and somewhat seperated, so had them returned. We were looking for good fish and chips, so a friend suggested Huli Huli Hut. The place has a really laid-back, beachy/island vibe. Our appetizer was the fried trio: calamari-mushrooms-jalapeños. The mushrooms and jalapeños were delicious, but sadly, the calamari was overcooked and rubbery. The remoulade sauce, marinara, and ranch that came with them were nice. I ordered the fish and chips [what I really came for], and my wife had the fish and shrimp. The fish and chips LOOKED fantastic, and the portion appeared generous. Unfortunately, there were issues. Although the pollock was cooked perfectly, the batter was thicker than the actual fish. The batter, while slightly over brown on the outside, was doughy like a pancake on the inside. My wifes fish and shrimp were tasty, but some of the coating on both revealed what appeared to be the real issue: I believe the fryer oil was too hot, causing the coating to taste burnt. The chips [French fries] were tasty but obviously food-service products not fresh made. On another positive note, the slaw was crunchy and well balanced.

We had the 5 lb crawfish with corn and potatoes. We loved iit!!!! Great quality and great price. We have checked out several different places in Galveston for their crawfish offerings and this is the best one in my opinion. We have also tried the various types of crab here, appetizers, boudin and I really couldnt find anything I didnt like in the menu. Fantastic cooking!!! The atmosphere was very unique. It reminds me of a dive tiki bar, but fantastic, nevertheless. I may have had the best catfish of my life, and the service was outstanding. Clarissa was our food server, and she was amazingly kind in attendant. As a tourist to stumble, upon a place, like this is rather unique. This certainly adds to the mystique and the wonder that is Galveston Island on the Strand

You will absolutely not believe how gigantic the catfish filets are. The breading on them was great, the fish was cooked perfectly, good tartar sauce, just a great meal. Youll probably want to share it, though, because its the size of your head.

We were seated, and waited over 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we were there. By that time, we were ready to order food and drinks. Ordered food, and a beer, beer never came so I had to flag down the waitress and ask. Finally got a beer. Food came pretty quick, and wasn t bad at all. The place is not the cleanest, and service definitely needs improvement. There were some type of nats or something doing around.

Overpriced, mediocre food served in a filthy restaurant. When we sat down I didnt realize how dirty the place was, over the course of our meal I realized that everywhere I looked there was dirt, dust, and disrepair. The calamari was burnt to a rubber texture, the drinks were all booze and no flavor, and our meals were meh at best. Our server was decent, thats about all that was positive. This place needs a deep clean and a line cook training class asap.

Took myself and 4 teenage boys from il there after a fishing trip with outcast charter. They prepared our fish for us and we had a sampler platter with 4 family sides. It was delicious and our service was great. The atmosphere at this restaurant was very nice. Cant wait to go again.

The last time I was here, had snow crab and shrimp... Very good. We sat at the bar and service was excellent. Tonight, we sat at the tables. We had fish tacos and shrimp kisses and food was wonderful. Service was good, esp considering it was a packed night. I heard a band on the back, playing covers of the GooGoo Dolls and some other music from the 1990s-2000s era. Great atmosphere. Great all around vibe. We ate until we couldnt eat anymore. I cant recommend this place enough. Great food, great prices, great atmosphere, wonderful service. If youre in Galveston and want to avoid the standard fare and mediocre chains, come here. You wont be disappointed.

I ve found a new crawfish/seafood home! The chefs at Huli are magicians who somehow made the perfect Louisiana style crawfish. What s perfect? Not too salty, spicy or garlicky, yet somehow blended perfectly in just the right amounts. Crawfish are scarce these days, yet Huli somehow managed to serve up a good combination of some jumbos with some normal sized and a few small ones. Just how I like them! Treat yourself to some great crawfish at Huli! Parking: Parking can be difficult. We got lucky with a spot right in front!

First and last time in history . Never again will I set foot in this establishment again. The food was okay. The atmosphere was as expected. Let me tell you about the service. Carla the bartender/manger is the rudest individual I have ever encountered. It was a little too cool for our outdoor seating area, so we moved to the bar area. Carla the bar tender refused to acknowledge us at all. She was extremely rude the entire time we sat at the bar. I didn t realize it until I asked for a frozen margarita. She bucked her eyes and told me I d have to order it from our original waitress. After she (Carla) made the margarita, she passed us up with my drink in her hand and sat it at the end of the bar for our waitress to serve us AT THE BAR! Rude is an understatement. SMH . Please go to Flippers instead. The customer service and food is much better.

I came to Huli Huli Hut hungry after a 21 mile bike ride and left satisfied Po Boy (Blackened Shrimp with Spici fries) | 8/10 I wanted a poboy, and boi... did they deliver. Its simple. Its delicious. It was greatly complemented with floppy bread. The reason I said that that bread complemented it is because it made it easy to wrap around all the shrimp. The spicy fries were good too! Regarding Service, its a little bit slow - but you have to remember that youre on island time. Ambience is great. Its loud, colorful, and transports you into a Hawaiian hut. Funny enough, theyre playing Shark Tank while I was in there props to your team, Huli Huli Hut, that was educationally on-brand. In Galveston, you dont have as much of an abundance of restaurants as Houston... BUT there are still some great spots. Id say Huli Huli is one of them
