This was our first time at Toasted Yolk and I think it may be our new favorite spot. The menu options are great and the food tastes even better. But honestly, our server Lindsay made the whole experience. She was fun, engaging and educated us on the menu.

This was our first time there and they gave us free donuts for that! The wait staff was amazing and gave us plenty of options for us to choose from the menu. They have generous portions and we even ordered an extra to go order of the fried banana peppers to go for our 3-hour trip back home and they were still scrumptious when we got home!

Went to take my mom out to eat this morning, and the whole time we felt pressured by our waitress when we got there, keep in mind this was our first time here, and we ordered and as soon as we got our meal they gave us our receipt, my mom s friend wanted to take food to go, and a couple minutes later the front lady told us we have a couple of minutes to leave because they have a party coming in soon, heard alot of good stuff from this place but I definitely won t be coming back here.

Came in for a quick fresh hot breakfast That didnt happen. They only thing I got that was hot was my hot tea with honey. Had to ask 2 time for the honey. Grit so cold the butter I put in then didnt even melt. Gravy and sausage patties at room temp. Super disappointed in this. Loved this place the first time I visited.

Ate here for breakfast and the food was tasty. Felt the portions were a bit small for the price other than the pancakes which were large and fluffy. I dislike the prices of sides vs ideal if it was discounted if just added on to a dish. The waitress implied that sausage was included with the pancakes but did not disclose that it was really a side $4.59 for 2 small sausage patties was a bit ridiculous. All in all we split 2 adult meals and 2 sides across 1 adult and 3 kiddos. It was good, the prices made it less positive or memorable.

This was our 3rd time here and I doubt we ll be back. The food has been ok at best, but the service experience today was the rudest I ve ever seen (not our waiter). We were out celebrating my mother-in-law s birthday and had been sitting talking for a few minutes after our check was paid and a hostess came up to us and asked us how much longer we were going to be there because she wanted to be able to give a time frame for a wait to waiting customers. As many times as I have dined out in my lifetime, I have never had this happen. Ever. It is completely rude to essentially run out customers that have already spent good money. If this is their common practice then they should really consider their approach to customer service, because no matter how much you assure someone you aren t rushing them or trying to be rude, that is what you are doing.

Updated review: Just ate here on Sunday during Texas A&Ms Family Weekend following a church service we attended. Our future son-in-law got us on the wait list, so the wait was not too bad, though the place was packed, as usual. Service was very good, as always. The food was okay, but not as good as it has been in the past, particularly the hash brown casserole. My wife and I had two different dishes, but both had the casserole as a side. It was total mush and we really should have returned it. Looking back on my picture from a year ago it was totally different. Something was definitely off during this latest visit. Still a great place to eat, but his experience was off a bit. Original review a year ago (5-star): In town for an Aggie event as well as our daughters birthday. First time eating at The Toasted Yolk, but not the last. Had excellent service and all the food was outstanding. Enjoyed it and recommended to all!

Everything I had and that my friends had today was so very good. Our waitress was great, the manager checked on us several times and the chef who perfected the CFS brought us our plated then checked to see how we liked it. This place is really cool and has a great variety of foods. Ill definitely be back!! Oh, and the Churro Donuts??? To die for!! Love their music selection - from the 70s and 80s. I have been visiting toasted yolk the last month every Saturday or Sunday . It has become my favorite breakfast spot to take my son. I asked for my eggs over hard which I always do they came out dry and brown .. I sent it back due to the eggs being my favorite part of the meal the manager proceeds to tell me if I don t want them to look liked that the. Get the over medium but it will be runny .. I have been coming Here for a minute now so I know that s not true it s been well done eggs. But still yellow and beautiful the owner acting as if she annoyed with having to take the eggs back it left a bad taste in my mouth and I won t be back .. 4/23/24 (since you want to be nice nasty ) The owner whoever you may be is very condescending.. I worked in food business and I work in dental where we makes sure customers/patients is happy at the end of the day it don t matter if your busy . Im paying for something I should enjoy it . So for you to state that actually pissed me off . I know how I liked my eggs cooked and it came out wonderful the past visits .. own your mistake don t try to play like I just causing trouble I notice that how you respond yo all of your reviews nice/nasty . Talk to your team about verbiage because again a team member told me you say over medium hard . Now you have a good day

Today, we were celebrating our son getting his Aggie ring. We were able to get on the waitlist online, and we waited for no more than 4 or 5 minutes. Ani was our waitress, and she was, by far, one of the kindest, most attentive person who we have had the pleasure of interacting with for quite some time. She took note that our son was on the phone with his grandmother, and came back after he was finished. She congratulated him on his ring, and then proceeded to make sure that we had all of our questions answered. She made some great recommendations. She was attentive, but still gave us plenty of time to chat with our son. She is what made this experience five stars. The food was great, but the service surpassed our expectations.Ani will leave a lasting impression on you, so please ask to get into her section. Its worth it.

I have been traveling lately and have tried numerous restaurants for breakfast & lunch. I couldnt help think how none of these popular establishments even remotely compared to the quality and professionalism of The Toasted Yolk! NONE were close in terms of quality, service, friendliness or professionalism. The more places I tried the more I became convinced that the team at the College Station Toasted Yolk are the best! The Toasted Yolk remains my go to place for breakfast, where the managers, wait staff and kitchen staff are simply the very best! My previous review from 2023 still stands: Outstanding staff, good food, and fast service. From the front hostesses to amazing wait staff to friendly floor & kitchen managers, everyone is professional and congenial. Food orders come out quickly, and are always delicious. My go to is a three egg white omelette with grits, but to be honest, everything on the menu is delicious. Thanks Toasted Yolk for truly being The Best of the Brazos!

I really liked our server, Tyler, but as with a lot of bustling breakfast joints, service is great as long as nothing goes wrong, and despite some quirky requests (that I m used to other servers forgetting), Tyler pulled everything off without a hitch. Loved Tyler, but the food is where the Yolk fell very short today. My benedict was fine, even if the poached eggs were clear-watery-runny. I get my daily probiotics, and what can I say? I m a risk taker. My partner, however, ordered pancakes because he had some dental work done last week and is trying to stick to softer foods. I will just say, unless you are starving and in need of large quantities of food above all else OR you like the kind of powdery soft, box-mix pancakes that stick to the roof of your mouth, don t order them. You could get almost anything else and probably be better off than you would ordering these. They will make you question the kitchen, which hopefully was just off today because of the inclement weather we are expecting. Parking: You re competing with a few other restaurants at different times of the day for parking. We were here early enough that we found a spot right away.

I will say I had my 2 year old daughter with me and she was a little hangry so she cried for maybe 5 minutes at the most when her and I were approached by an older very bitter woman telling me that I need to take her outside because she s disturbing everyone and I m the reason she acts the way she does and just a very unhappy woman, that was dealt with (we made a big scene, I was uncomfortable, other customers were uncomfortable) whatever. But it seemed she was a regular and I was upset with the manager for allowing that to happen and didn t even apologize just because I m not as recognized as she is. I guess if it s your first time there you won t be treated as kindly. Kid-friendliness: Not at all

Edit: Something has changed about this location (new management maybe?) and I would recommend other options such as Snooze. Theres been a few issues but most recently we were served undercooked eggs and told by both a server and manager that over easy was supposed to have runny/unset egg white. That is both wrong and a poor excuse, and the over medium eggs that were brought back had an off flavor like if the eggs were old. Original: Came for the grand opening and everything was great! Fast and friendly service despite the crowd. My eggs benedict The Arnold were perfectly done, and the hash brown casserole really exceeded expectations. The churro donuts are very sweet but a nice treat for the sweet tooth. The Wheatwhich is a huge portion size but really good if you like breakfast sandwiches! I recommend getting fruit on the side to cut through the richness. Would come again!

What prompted this review was today while eating they took the time to mop the bar area - mild inconvenience for me as it delayed my pay but honestly? Thats a positive. Ive heard so many horror stories about restaurants failing to maintain a clean place. Im glad Toasted Yolk not only serves great food but endeavors to make sure the environment is clean so I know all Im eating there is what I ordered. So yeah, 5 stars, highly recommend!

Pleasant folks. The wait was about 20 minutes at Saturday lunch. The waitress was prompt and the food came much more quickly than we anticipated. Generous portions, tasty and the price isnt too bad for nowadays. Relatively easy to get to off the road, plenty of parking but plenty crowded. A little loud and echoey... I guess that aint bad if thats the only gripe I can come up with!

Awesome place to eat breakfast or brunch! The atmosphere was great with a mixed crowd as far as age is concerned. The service was amazing and the food come out fast considering the crowd and the amount of people eating. There is a wait line and would recommend getting there early or checking in there not on the app as the wait time was shorter when we got there as apposed checking in online. This was our first time here at College station location and definitely not our last. Had a good variety of food and they were not shy on the amount you get served. You will take a to go box home or you will leave hurting Lol.This is a must try! Parking: Plenty of parking no need to worry. Wheelchair accessibility: They do have a ramp on the side for easy access.

We came in town for the Auburn and Texas A&M game. We were in the mood for breakfast and wanted to try something new. Food was delicious. We had the chicken biscuit with poached egg and country gravy and English muffin with cajun turkey, bacon and avocado. Hash brown casserole was so yummy and fruit cup was a nice addition. We sat at the bar and Dylan took great care of us. Food came out quickly and their strawberry orange mimosa was refreshing. I definitely recommend this place and will return when we come in town for another game.

The egg was very undercooked so they covered it with more sauce to hide it. Both of our meals were unediable and made us feel sick. The staff ended up taking off half of one of the meals, at my kitchen we take off the whole mean beacuse it wasnt made right. Been there 4 times now and will never be going back after dealing with the managers who brushed it off like it was nothing.

It is great! However, the handicapped accessible parking, isnt. There is not enough and one of the spots is accessible only to the stairs. People consistently park in the spot which is the ramp spot. I understand this, because they need the parking too (they too have handicapped tag). Parking: 1 accessible space is inadequate. People park in adjacent spot which isnt a parking place. It designates the ramp. This is obvious that accessible parking is inadequate. Wheelchair accessibility: Very poor. This is not the restaurants fault. It is poor parking lot designation.

First and foremost, The Toasted was decent. It s not quite as good as the second option (snooze) across the street, but if snooze is too busy it s a great second option. Prices are a bit high and the atmosphere was nice. My only issue was the owner. The owner kept going on and on about how great the food was but it seemed pretty average. He kept coming over and talking to me and my date but there s a point where it becomes too often and actually ruined our date. Plus, we saw him digging in his nose at one point which was absolutely disgusting. This is why I m giving 2*s. An owner should not be doing that, at least not in front of his customers.

Very mediocre restaurant. I dont believe they even use real eggs! Also the owner seems very inept at his job. Ive heard that no one wants to work here because of how terrible the management is. There are far superior breakfast diners to patronize; Snooze, The Kettle, Another Broken Egg, etc. You are better off supporting those establishments than this swill. Look up how the owner treats his employees and youll be disgusted. Do not come here!

We ate here a couple of weeks back for brunch on a Sunday, we got there at 1015 am snagged one of last tables. This place got crowded fast and there was a line when we left. Our server was very nice and the atmosphere was lively. The food I thought was just ok. I had an omelet which was just mediocre, nothing special. It comes with a hash brown casserole which didnt taste bad but seemed more like potatoes au gratin than a breakfast side. The biscuit that came with it was unremarkable. The others at my table seemed to like everything well enough, its just that nothing really stood out. Im not trying to bash this place at all and Im definitely gonna come back and try something different, you get a pretty good amount of food for the price.

The business owner at this establishment lacks the community and his very own employees. Employees are having to put up with him lowering their very own pay for an inconvenience he has within himself. He withholds pay from management who have turned his business around for the better. And has ignored any consequence he comes across with any employee. It s seems unfair for these people who work very hard just to get mistreated and bashed by there own boss. The community needs to come together and know the truth behind this business.

Went in with my family to eat breakfast because we were invited in by the owner, he was a let down on all his statements about the food being great. He didn t even want to make 1 exception for exchange or offer a discount for a party of 4 who all found the food to be old, unsatisfactory, and were lied to. The food even made our stomachs hurt and we had nothing else that day! I guess he s not interested in our business given his attitude and the rant he went on while we were dining in! Our waitress was lovely and not at fault and says this is his true character and she s used to seeing him do the same to many others! Please give your business somewhere else! UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE: To anyone reading this, no one is smearing anything, I m being 100% truthful and just wanted to share my honest experience which is MY RIGHT TO DO SO. It s not my fault that your own staff disclose information of your attitude to us which I already observed firsthand. No matter how hard we try we can t please anyone what a load of baloney, I didn t see half an attempt of you trying to please YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS! Last time I checked, the entire 237k+ residents of brazos county didn t find your food to be satisfactory, and it seems like 7+ more people agree with my review! You need serious help and an attitude check. I encourage you to speak more kindly to paying customers and do something about these issues when they first happen instead of talking down on people and maybe these reviews won t happen as often!

I would give 0 stars if I could, but it s not possible. Me and my family of 4 were hoping to eat some delicious homemade breakfast but that was not the case. For starters, the OWNER came outside the establishment and insisted TWICE we come in near closing time, we were already walking back to our car to go to ihop. He bragged about the food being the best and portion sizes being big, none of which were true. When asked to exchanged a side of potatoes for some bacon because we were highly unsatisfied with the food tasting bland and old the owner went on a rant and gave us attitude about how it costs him more money to make two strips of bacon than exchange a side of potatoes when he was the one in the first place insisting on staying for the good food . The price of 2 strips of bacon wholesale compared to potatoes and cheese is negligible when it comes to keeping customers happy and fixing our experience being extremely unsatisfactory. The food was unflavorful, old, and overpriced for what it s worth. In all seriousness fast food breakfast tastes better than this. Please listen to the other one star reviews and avoid this place! UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE: To the public reading this review: I have been nothing but 100% honest. The owner is trying to save face by throwing another untrue tantrum, and responding rudely to a tax paying citizen & paying customer. Newsflash owner: just because one small survey of handful of people say you re the best in town doesn t mean that the other 237,000+ other residents of Brazos county can genuinely find YOUR FOOD SUCKS! I would ve considered deleting the review with an appropriate response & action from the owner, but given his rant he went on again, I rest my case.
