We actually love this place and go often but I have to at least share a small detail that could have gone better. We ordered appetizers, wine, bottle of soke and then we shared a main meal of the Ribeye and spent over $130. All perfect. My wife ordered soda water and when I got the bill, the cost for soda water, off the bar-gun was $3.95. I asked the waitress and with a rare smirk, she said that was the cost because they had to use CO2 to make that water and thats not free. I was just taken aback and asked her did it really cost that much money to make free water into fizzy water and she said yes and that was the charge. We will think again before coming back here again as something very simple can cost you way more than $3.95 and she could have easily taken the cost off and made a great night for us even better. Please check your receipts before paying is the best advice I can give and for sure, ask if fizzy water is going to cost you half as much as a full glass of wine. JP

Well, that was unbelievable. 7 pm Me and my family party of 4 , 2 adults and 2 kids came in we were very happy to go there cuz we love sushi and have been in the area. We were sat down immediately, but for whole 15 min, we were never offered no drinks no nothing. The waitress knew !! We where there!! We made eye contact! People from table next to use were done payed the check she came to take it and once again we made eye contact and then new couple sat near us and immediately the waitress came and asked them what they wanted to drink, after few moments she brought them their drinks. I made eye contact and she turned her back away again. 15 min nothing. Unfortunately we just got up and left. We talked to the hostess and let them know but they just said oh sorry TAKARA - DO BETTER !!Really disappointing

We have been coming here for almost 10 years. In the past few years the food has definitely gone downhill. Food used to be consistently great, now it is occasionally good. Sorry to say we wont be giving it another chance after our food today. Service had always been consistently great.

One word! Delicious! I gave 3 starts for atmosphere. They had an outdoor eating patio but they don t serve to that area. That was a bit disappointing. On a nice breezy day. The food was delicious and so was the service. I ll be back again soon their Mardi Gra sushi was the bomb!

My favorite sushi spot in cedar park. I ve been going for 9 years for my birthday. The service is great the atmosphere is wonderful and the food is amazing. I always get the lemon zest roll and blue fin feast and love the 7 spice calamari.

**Takara - Cedar Park: A Hidden Gem for Sushi Lovers** Last night, we finally made it to Takara in Cedar Park, even though weve lived here for a while. Our visit started with gyoza, which were so delicious that we almost ordered another round but decided to save room for more. For the main course, I had the Red Devil Roll, while my partner opted for the Hottie Kimono Roll. Both were exceptional! I usually drive 20 minutes to my favorite sushi spot, but its great to know theres a local place that s just as delicious. The customer service at Takara was good and the dark, cozy ambiance made for a perfect dining experience. Well definitely be back!

We made reservations for a 5pm dinner on a Friday. Glad we did. If we had been here just 10 mins later we would have likely missed the beginning of the movie. Anna was our server, she was excellent and quick to answer my questions about my dietary dairy issues. We have been coming here for years but somehow I have missed doing a review for them. We highly recommend this place. But know, if you need to make reservations, be sure to call the day before at a minimum because same day reservations are not accepted.

Got take out last night and all the rolls had been smashed down from the lid so the rolls toppings were all stuck and falling apart upon grabbing them. The imperial crab roll was suppose to have soft shell crab but had only imitation crab. Waste of $100. I know I shouldnt expect much from take out sushi but this was really not it. Used to come eat here often but quality went down drastically.

We went on Saturday night to meet up with another set of friends. Everything was going fine until one of the servers started vacuuming her section. I ve seen servers in other restaurants sweep, and I get it. You have closing work to do. But to vacuum when you have guests two tables over is ridiculous. It was such a turn off. And the fact that we still had 30 minutes before they closed, we felt so unwelcome, like they couldn t wait for us to leave. Which is probably accurate. But your guests should never even have to consider that might be. She also brought us our check 45 minutes before closing without even asking us if we needed anything else. We were definitely being rushed out. This is one of the only good sushi restaurants in Cedar Park. And now, unfortunately, I will have to reconsider going there again.

From entry, it looks like an upscale restaurant. The service was decent, the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The food on the other hand was lacking. Im not sure why, but there were glass noodles inside the egg rolls, giving them a slimy and unappetizing texture. The prices were high, and cutting the filler for egg rolls with noodles was kind of a in the face.

I wish I can write a good review for this place. The food was good, to be honest! But the server girl! Omg! So rude and unhappy! When my friend was looking at the menu to trying to decide what she is going to get, the server rolled her eyes!! And also they had a happy hour when we were there, but she did not tell us!! Charged a 14$ for a glass of wine( almost half glass) This is ridiculous! After all of this, they have added 19$ tip for each check. Food was good but we will not go back to this place again for sure!

Visited for a Saturday lunch with family and was impressed by the wonderful ambiance and top-notch service. This upscale spot is perfect for both dates and family gatherings. Kudos to our server, Anna, who was outstanding and attentive. We indulged in the jalapeno bomb, which was a standout. Also enjoyed specialty rolls like the mardi gras, the trio, and dragon fire - all of which were delightful. The hot sake added a perfect touch. No reservation needed, especially for Luncj. Takara is a solid, consistent sushi restaurant near our house. Tonight my husband and I sat at the bar and shared the Hottie Kimono Roll (I forgot to take a pic!) and some nigiri. The roll is a specialty and is the highlight of their rolls. The nigiri is ok depending on what you order. Our favorite is the Fatty Tuna and the Yellow Tail is a close second. I suggest coming during Happy Hour during the week as opposed to a weekend end as we spent $107 on the roll, 12 pcs of nigiri and a glass of wine.

The sushi was very plain and basic - especially for the price. Also, very long wait time after we ordered. It should not have taken 56 minutes for that disappointing dish. I ordered what the chef felt inspired to make me - basic and boring. The cuts were too chunky and bearly manageable with the chopsticks. Not impressed. I will not be returning.

The food was great. We were a large group (7), and they dont take reservations. We waited in the entry which the sun was blasting in on. And there are only like two, maybe three chairs so our group was sort of in the way of the door .Then we were seated at a table that was by a window that had no shade. So part of our group was blinded by the sun. The drinks took a while to be served. A solution for both these is one take reservations for large groups and two invest in some sunblocking window shades.

I ordered some basic rolls for my kids. After only few minutes, the server brought the roll on our table. It did not look fresh, and I addressed that its not fresh, was that sitting in the back kitchen before? Server was not happy because of my complain. (Server is Asian old lady) At the end, she added 20% of gratuity automatically. At the time, I paid what she wanted me to pay, but when I think about sushi, I felt like I got robbed with not fresh sushi and my money. She did not deserve 20% of tip out of my pocket. So greedy. So sad for my very first experience with Takara was 0/100.

The waitress also got my order wrong so I had to order extra to get what I wanted. I also adjusted the forced gratuity for my ticket on a party of 5 to reflect a fairer tip for the service. This place was GREAT! The server was so nice and sweet, the menu was awesome, the bathrooms were clean, and the restaurant itself was beautiful inside. I loved it very much. It was rather pricey, with my total being ~75 for 3 people, but the food was so worth it. Would definitely recommend the strawberry and green tea mochis! So delicious. Overcharged. Server was extremely rude and began yelling. Refused to acknowledge the unethical way they rang up our meals. Portion sizes were same for sides as for combos, but they charged separately to charge more. Charged gratuity for 4 adults and one child. Rushed to order. Why would a hibachi charge gratuity for seats they are going to fill shoulder to shoulder anyway? The server only refills drinks. Not even a full service establishment to charge gratuity. Horrible ethics. Horrible customer service.

I love eating by myself and this place was accommodating and kind. They served the food quickly. They even provided a Gluten-free menu. I had miso soup, hot green tea, and miso salmon. Top-notch. Delicious. Amazing. Filling. With a side of kim chi. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free menu. Parking: Busy time of night. There is a movie theater and other busy businesses around the restaurant.

What we reserved: A quiet spot at Takara for a business dinner. What we got: A small table directly in front of the sushi bar with a lot of foot traffic on all sides of us. The cool air blowing on us and our food from the ceiling vent above us was a special touch. Also, our waitress understood very little English which made things especially difficult. We finally gave up and pointed to what we wanted. I am giving Takara one star. The sushi was good but the service needs improvement and the overall ambience needs a lot of work.

Risotto appetizer was devine, enough for 3 people. We had several of the specialty rolls. We had to ask about cold sake, and they have a good selection. Service was so slow, only one person for a large section and it wasnt that busy when we got there. Decor is very elegant and pleasing. Great pre-hockey game venue. Kid-friendliness: Several families with children were there.

Huge sushi menu with some good alternatives for people who dont eat sushi. The two rolls I had were pretty good and the orange chicken (Chinese food dish) was fantastic. The margarita was great too! The only negative was the service and it wasnt even that bad - the waitress was super friendly but service was slow. It just took her a while to circle back around to check with us every time, but nothing so egregious that Im knocking off a bunch of stars for it. Parking at this place is absolutely miserable (not their fault), but once youre inside its very pretty and atmospheric. Probably good for a date night!

This is a fairly nice suburban sushi place. They are a little understaffed but who isnt these days. One bartender and two waiters for probably 40 tables during holiday season. Bar seating is very limited despite not having enough tables and they seem to have plenty of bar space to add more chairs. There were what looked like two hostesses but were probably in high school and looked like they were unsure of why they were there and what they were supposed to be doing. Communication on whether we could sit at the bar or table took close to 10 minutes to figure out. Food was average to good, beer was cold, sake was hot. Its on the ragged edge of suburbia this is probably as good as it gets for sushi in this part of the world. I would not drive an hour to eat here again but its probably pretty good if you live in the area and you have an overpriced babysitter waiting for you at home.
