Great little restaurant with flavor and charm! This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it! Met the owner who shared how creating this restaurant was his Dream. Glad to help other people follow their dreams and enjoy the tasty results! Sept 2024 UPDATE: Weve eaten here a million times now and the food is always hot, fresh and amazing! Theyre only doing takeout - but everything has always still been hot when we settle down at home. DELICIOUS!!! Oh- and if you need GLUTEN FREE: just tell them and theyll change their recipe to not use soy sauce (which makes the flavor even better!)

***Jhol Momo and Sadheko Momo*** I wish I could give zero stars for this food. I was craving momos, so I decided to give Yak N Yeti a try through Uber Eats. The moment we opened the packaging, a stale smell hit us, but I decided to try them anyway. The taste was pathetic and stale absolutely disgusting. I have never had such terrible momos in my life. I immediately had stomach pain and vomited after an hour. It felt like I paid $35 to make myself sick. I would not recommend this to anyone. If you still want to give it a chance, do so at your own risk.

If you like Indian food, the Nepalese cuisine here is absolutely NEXT level. Top marks so far go to: Sadheko Momo Nepalese Khana Set (awesome sample of the Nepalese food, ask for lamb or chicken) Chicken shahi korma (this dish will steal your heart) Bread basket (this is 100% worth breaking your diet plans!) Mango lassi (delicious cold smoothie type drink, helps with spice or is a perfect liquid dessert) We were incredibly fortunate to have a dine-in experience on 7/13, but YNY has had a hard time finding servers, so they are often staff-limited to carry-out only. You will miss out on the kind service, relaxed atmosphere, and food presentation if ordering out. If you re in a very small group, knock on the door during business hours and ask politely if you can dine-in. There s a chance they ll set up a table just for you if they re not too busy. Overall, a fantastic find if you re in the Cedar Park or NW Austin area. Highly recommend.

OMG! I don t have words to express how delightful the food at Yak N & Yeti is for our body and soul. Anything you ask for is simply superb! We absolutely love the spicy momos theres no place better in all of Austin, probably the entire country, or maybe even the world! While the spicy momos are a favorite, the spiciest sadenko momos are an absolute standout. And dont get me started on the cashew curry Shahi Korma its simply heavenly. This restaurant is a gem, and every dish is a culinary masterpiece. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchair

Had an exceptional experience. The dumplings, including sadheko momo, jhol momo, and steam momo, were simply outstanding and brought back nostalgic memories of authentic Nepali cuisine, reminiscent of Kathmandu. The chowmein and other dishes were equally delicious. This place truly captures the essence of Nepali flavors. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend Yak N Yeti to anyone seeking genuine Nepali food. 5/5!

I have eaten in this restaurant a few times and had many Uber deliveries as well. The quality of the food is outstanding. The owners and staff are incredibly warm & welcoming, laid-back, and genuine. A taste of real Nepal. And there is not a lot of really high-quality Indian/Nepalese food in the Cedar Park area in my opinion. You can always find some thing for a quick curry fix, but nothing compares to the quality of the food here. The flavors are extremely authentic and they use high-quality ingredients. The portions are fair and as is often the case with this food, you fill up faster than you think you might. I have probably tried half the dishes on the menu, and every single one was perfectly done in my opinion. Overall, while more expensive than other Indian restaurants in the area, the food is so incredibly delicious and fresh that I am prepared to pay more for the consistent quality and authenticity.

Disappointed with the Lamb Biriyani to-go at $17. The meat and the rice was not cooked together. There was significant imbalance in taste and the blend wasn t working well. Not happy with the quantity too, esp the lamb chunks were very minimal. They did provide the take away within 5 mins which is the only good thing.

Thali seems a bit expensive based on what is given. (No roti or dessert or raita, just rice, dal and 2 cups of curry )- very tasty but leaving hungry :)

I had the Butter chicken and they seriously lacked on the chicken, but not sauce . My son had another chicken dish and it had 9 small pieces of meat in the ton of sauce. My husband had lamb kebabs. It was so dry that took the massive amount of sauce to dunk the meat. The fried rice was OK. My MIL had the boneless chicken biryani, which was an up charge for boneless. She had 3 small pieces of meat! BTW, we were served on disposable paper plates, plastic ware and plastic cup! There are plenty of other restaurants to go to. This one is not it.

This is a great place to taste Nepali Food. For appetizer, we had Momo Chaat & Gobi Machurian. Momo chaat was out of the world. Gobi Manchurian was nice too. For main course, we had Sadheko Momo, Chilly Momo & Biriyani. Sadheko Momo & Chilly Momo were just very very delicious . Would love to have these anytime again. For desserts, we had Gulab Jamun & Rasamalai. They give 3 Gulab jamun and the cost was not high. Overall, would highly recommend this restaurant . Staff were super friendly.

1st time trying & got FOOD POISONING. 90 mins after eating my food something was off . It didn t taste exactly fresh either. Then for the next 3 hours I was sicker than I can remember of all my life. I felt like arriving there 30 mins before closing meant they were pulling unsafe strings to finish my food. All chairs were stacked on tables, smelled like Pinesol. But the fact that I got food poisoning was so sad, i felt like death. I really wanted to like this place trying it the first time. I paid $27 to vomit profusely instead. Horrible experience.

Great food. We had the sadheko vegetarian momos and the paneer chilly. Momos have a vegetarian filling, with a spicy ginger garlic rub. It is spicy and stay away if you hate ginger garlic or the heat. Paneer chilly was also great and sweet-ish. Ask for their hot sauce, stuff is a bomb and it was not included, so you have to do the extra effort of asking. They have only take out though. Vegetarian options: Paneer chilly, momos, Malai kofta, dal

Hi, all. Oh, maaaan. This place is a gem! I cant add many more superlatives beyond what most of the other reviewers said here. I had the Momo Chat: Vegetable, Yak & Yeti Mixed Grill, and one other dish, name Ive forgotten. Excellent food. Everything was very fresh. Flavor bombs in every bite, etc. :-) Basmati rice cooked perfectly. This is my new favorite restaurant. And Suhdeep (sp??) was the nicest guy. He brought my order out to the car. Very courteous and so pleased that I was a first-time customer. You call me if you have questions., he said too when I didnt know what to order next time. You could tell that he loves what hes doing; his food was indicative of that as well. Theyve been open about a year now and I hope that everyone gives them a try and that we keep this restaurant with us in Cedar Park for a long time! Thanks for listening (reading). :-)

The jumbo tandoori shrimp, samosas and chicken momos were awesome! You owe it to yourself to give this Nepalese/Indian cuisine a try! This is a family operation. Got the Butter Chicken, Kheer (rice pudding), and Mango Lassi drink. The butter chicken came with rice, and both were good, but the butter chicken was especially good. I have not tried the kheer yet, but the mango lassi was also very good; very pleasing to a mango-lover palate. The portions were good and I had leftovers (a common thing for me), so its likely a good portion for someone who eats a bit more. I will definitely come here again & recommend to people. 10/10 on this meal Dietary restrictions: Lots of Vegetarian, Gluten Free, and Vegan options to choose from.

Food was amazing!! It took forever to come out though and we were the only people there when we arrived. A bunch of people came to pick up orders they had called in and all of them had to wait an extra 15-20 minutes each in the restaurant on top of their 30-45 minute given time before they were ready. Very very good food but until they hire more help I would find somewhere else.

Our go to place for Indian style momos and chinese. The Sadheko and Jhol momo are our favourites. I also love their chicken fried rice. Reminds me of street food in India. Priced reasonable. ~$10 for each dish. Dinner for 2 is around $30.

I ordered a take out. The staff looked kind and nice. Chicken 65 was not really Indian style. It was bland and spiceless. But butter chicken was really really tasty although I did notice lot of oil on the dish.

It has to be hands down one of the best Indian/Nepalese restaurants in Austin. Its been consistently delicious. Weve ordered the chicken curry (bone-in) medium spice, chicken Tikka mild, okra, yellow dhal.

I picked Malai Kofta from Yak & Yeti. I asked the owner how much quantity will come and he said 16 Oz. I picked up few other curries from Tarka Indian at Lakeline which sells 10 Oz curry officially. When I came home, to my surprise both Yak & Yeti and Tarka were using the same container. I transferred the curry from Yak & Yeti to Tarka container and it has exact same quantity as Tarka. So the restaurants are lying are at our face saying that these are 16 Oz curry selling 10 Oz curry for $15.

Ordered online 2 chicken briyani last Friday as my regular place was closed so thought to give it try. Briyani here was NOT good at all, chewy chicken, dry rice, not properly mixed.. I even gave feedback same day via order help and was suppose to get reply but nothing. Wont recommend.

Wow. I used to go to a Yak n Yeti in Denver that ever since moving here Ive missed. When i saw the name popup in UberEats I thought that cant be right. But it was -- so i tried it. I dont know if they are in any way associated with the restaurant I loved but my order was as wonderful as I remember. I cant wait to visit and see if the actual restaurant lives up to what i received! June 2022 - I have to concur with other reviews in the level of salt in the dishes. Borderline inedible. Not quite as good as it has been in the past.

Ordered a day early for a special lunch with friends culturally familiar with Indian food. The food was a hit...not a bad bite in any of the dishes I ordered. Everything was delicious (5 main dishes + sides)I ordered online the day they were closed and the owner called me immediately to make sure I wasnt ordering for that day. It was a large order and I had scheduled pickup for 15 minutes after they opened. When I picked it up I realized that the chef/owner had to come in extra early just to create this enormous lunch and have it fresh and ready on time. My favorites were the butter chicken, palak paneer, and vindaloo. Entres arent large but the quality of ingredients was apparent to us. Service was amazing and warm, great food! Glad to have found this little gem of a restaurant.

This is my favorite Indian/Nepalese restaurant in the area for butter chicken dishes. Having tried about two dozen, couldn t find anything else close. Extremely quick and friendly staff. Family owned. Would recommend. Have ordered from them over 100 times since 2019. Gluten allergy friendly menu (if you re into that sorta thing). Can t fathom why they don t have a solid 5-star rating.
