This was my second visit. First I tried the Wednesday special and it was fantastic. I returned today to try the catfish 6 piece. Everything was delicious fried just right. The French fries were fresh, crispy yet tender inside. The cole slaw was just the way I like it, not too sweet. The tea was grown folks tea not something made for teenagers. Even the cornbread was perfect. The service was outstanding. Every table was full and all patrons were smiling.

I called to place a large order and had questions. The person on the phone was kind of rude and short with me and directed me to look online and call back, but finally answered my questions and took the order (if I didnt need the food for an event I would have hung up). The catfish strips tasted like basa or swai fish, even though I was told it was American catfish. It was seasoned well and the order was received in the time frame promised.

Man I waited 30 min for my fish salad. 1st the gave me all spinach no lettuce it s supposed to be a mix. Second the fish bites was fried to hard so there was no fish in them it was hard batter the salad was decent by itself. My catfish filets were over cooked no fish just crust the fries was over cooked an hard the koolaid was good I spent $35 an I could have went to McDonald s. It s not hard to fry fish not sure how this place has so many stars the women at the front was in they phone ignored me when I walked in I would never recommend or come if the food was free

I ordered the 6 pcs Shrimp basket. Everything was over cooked except for the Okra which cost an extra dollar. The fries was burnt to a crisp. The Shrimp was over cooked rubber in texture. Then had the nerve to show me the plate like they was gonnarebook, after clearly saying no refund or exchanges. This was a total waste of my $14.06. I probable would recommend this place to anyone or be back.

Very rarely do I give Google reviews I had to give at least 1 Star to post, but please count this as 0 stars. I was waiting at the counter for my order when the cook came out from the kitchen with three orders just as the cashier went into the kitchen. The cook bagged up an order and set down another 2 orders on the counter - one with my name written on top of the box. Then, the cook proceed to go outside to hand off the bagged meal to a customer waiting outside while my food sat out on the counter getting cold. (Mind you, the reason I d been waiting at the counter is because the food took longer to prepare than quoted by the cashier, and my daughter who doesn t like seafood had an order waiting at another restaurant.) After waiting at the counter for a while, I tried to politely get the cashier s attention back in the kitchen - Excuse me, ma am. Ma am. - to make sure I wasn t grabbing someone else s food, but she didn t respond. Just as I was about to reach and grab my order the cook came back inside. She got an attitude with me. I explained that I was trying to check to see if it was for Leah. She said No, it s not. (Mind you - I see my name.) Before she left to go outside, she never tried to even ask my name when I was standing right there at the counter in front of her waiting patiently. Yet after she left and came back - right after I told her my name, she yells it out loud like I m not already standing right there in front of her. Then, as I looked down at the napkins on the counter to grab one, she grabs all of them before I can get any. I ordered the Friday special (with the intent to return to try the fish and shrimp combo). However, the food was an appetizer portion, and it was luke warm - at best. The hush puppies were very good, but small like the fish portions. I didn t even get my koolaid, because I was in a hurry and left to get my daughter s food. You can t pay me go back there to try the fish and shrimp combo. (Reposting on Nextdoor to warn as many people as possible to avoid this place!)

First visit, spent $17 on a 2 piece fish w/ 3 shrimp, hush puppies and slaw. + an additional fry. (meal was $14 w/o extra fry) Staff was pretty nice, I can tell shes use to unruly customers by how she interacted with me. The restaurant was clean but I wasnt too impressed by the food. You have the option of light, heavy or medium seasoning. Shrimp was delicious, but the fish was thin, not fried enough and fries didnt look like the photos. It was $2 for the lil cup of jalapeño pickle mix, I have never seen a seafood spot charge for that lol. The meal wasnt seasoned well, I chose medium, overall, wasnt too filling either.

We visited this spot for dinner, and we were impressed. The food is cooked to order ( be prepared to wait...but 10-15 mins is not bad). We had a 3pc catfish basket & it came with fries and coleslaw. The fish was cooked perfectly, but next time I will say light on the seasoning. My husband had the 4pcs shrimp & 4pc oysters with onions rings & okra (subs)... he said it was perfect. Compared to another fish /chicken restaurant in Cedar Hill, Royal was more affordable and tasted better. We wil definitely return.

I have been craving fried catfish almost every Friday. Shopped around, visit a few and will never go back! Not the case Here! Here make me remember home, Lake Charles Louisiana. I had heard many great reviews and have passed this location several times, so we decided to give it a try! The service was great, and food was served fast. Well, we got home and took out the fish to see brown grease. It was so much that I had to dab my fish several times to get it out/off... and it tasted like grease. I asked for fried hard, but it wasnt...it was very mushy and had a strong fishy taste. My fries were not fresh at all. They were lukewarm, and my parents only lived 5 minutes from the location. Sadly, this was a one and done experience for me. In response to the owner: I thank the owner for replying, however, I did not purchase food on 4/14 or 4/15, this is just when I had time to review. I purchased food from here 4/1/23 with MY card in MY name above and my mother was with me. Those pictures are of your food I purchased on that date. Secondly, I was not going to call or repack our food to return it once I had arrived to my familys home, unless something was missing, and even then, I would have called to inform you, but not driven back. GREAT customer service is to ensure food is cooked satisfactorily at all times, meaning food is fresh, not oil soaked, and cooked to order. I am sure this was just a one-off experience I had. I applaud any business owner, as having a business is not for the faint of heart. Yes, reviews drive business and I give HONEST reviews to every restaurant establishment I patronize. Take the review as a note to ensure you are providing a topnotch food experience each and every time.

Royal Fried Seafood and Grill is now my go to for catfish. I phoned in my order, the lady taking my order was very nice and made sure she took down my order correctly. I ordered a 12 pc whole fillets it came with a side of fries, hushpuppies and coleslaw, that I added fried okra and fried pickles. She told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived my order was ready to do. But what I really appreciated is how they packed my food so that the sides were separate from the catfish. The nice lady, without asking me, took the time to open each container to show me the food and make sure my order was correct. There was a gentleman at the counter as well who also wanted to make sure everything was the way I wanted. Excellent customer service! Now to the food! Everything was fresh!!! The coating on the catfish was nice and crispy and the inside was moist and tender. Just delicious!! All the sides were perfect as well with very generous portion sizes. When I picked up my order, I told them this was my first time there. They said it wont be my last and they are right about that!!!

I ordered the grilled royal plate. My daughter got a 2 peice fillet with coleslaw and fried okra. All of the food was good! The cook of the fried fish was better than the grilled fish and scallops. My scallops were cold in the middle. My fish was really fishy. It couldve used some lemon juice to cut that frozen fish taste. But that FRIED FISH..PERFECTION! Seasoned and fried beautifully. My veggies were cooked really well. I dont even EAT coleslaw but I will be back for theres. It was DELICIOUS. We also got a key lime pie which was grainy the filling wasnt smooth like you expect keylime pie to be and the slice was Super tiny that we got. They did have bigger slices. This place is right around the corner from my house. Ive passed it many times but, today I decided to stop by. I got there early before they opened so, I waited about 25 minutes. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and friendly. THAT IS THE ONLY POSITIVE THING I CAN SAY! The fish was good BUT, when they say STRIPS...Thats EXACTLY WHAT THEY MEAN! I also ordered oysters. I think they took one whole oyster and split it into 6 pcs. They were SO SMALL. They gave me one thing of tartar sauce which was the equivalent of one package of ketchup. First time and was very pleased. Shrimp were excellent. I like my oysters small and light but these were perfect for my wife. So we each get exactly what we want and they let her try the seasoning to pick one. We need these small businesses and the focused service. Oh yes her favorite food is pretty much whole fried catfish. Already planning my next meal.

I went in on a Friday and got their special, which was great for the price, there was no line and the wait was only 15 mins! The owner even came in and introduced himself and offered my daughter and I a drink while we waited :-) The food was hot and fresh, and the fish and fries were perfectly seasoned!

Wes, the owner needs to do better with his customer service...you call in an order and have to wait over 30 minutes for whatever you order. Half the time the people who cook the food including the owner like to hang out at the local corner store WITH the aprons on that they cook in. The people he hires have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS whatsoever. I handed the cashier my money and he counted my change by laying each dollar on the counter for me to pick up. As mentioned this place has potential but the customer service is HORRIBLE
