Ive never tasted a seaweed salad this fresh! Its even more delicious than what youd find in high-end Japanese restaurants. The flavors are vibrant, and the texture is perfectly crunchy. If I m paying $22 for a LARGE, I expect the portions to match what I m paying all my hard earned money for. I could literally count the amount of salmon I had in my bowl, 5 TINY pieces of Salmon and questionable pieces of scallop! They filled my bowl with a little rice and a ton of greens. I won t be returning to below 40 again. This was a joke and a waste of my money and time. Terrible experience!

I wanted something quick and fast before running errands. My husband and I shared a large bowl of poke. We were given 2 bowls of miso soup even though we only ordered one. Usually poke places are self serve and more like a fast food joint, but the service was excellent!! Even better, food was good. I will definitely be back!

The result from this place is always the same... -Received very little fish, when fish is supposed to be the main star of the meal (even with the large size, I measured it out to be about half a tablespoon of very small cubed fish pieces. -Too much rice and salad. There should be a nice balance between the fish, the greens/rice, and toppings -Missing toppings and sauce. Have had this happen on more than one ocassion, especially with the build your own bowl. The fish should be dressed with some sauce, instead, below 40 puts very light helpings of sauce only over the rice. Not a huge deal breaker, but what you end up with is flavorful rice and not much sauce flavor on the fish and greens as a result. The expensive price for basically a rice/salad bowl with a sprinkle of fish and toppings makes this a place I will no longer give my patronage to.

This was my wifes and my first time trying Poke Bowls! They were delicious. The owner took us in, showed us around, and helped us to order. And it was also the best Miso soup Ive had in my life! Went here for the first time with my wife and newborn. We were for a good poke place and I think we found our spot! Right away when you enter you re greeted with great service. The lady who helped was super kind and helpful when ordering and even was thoughtful in showing us the best seating for having a newborn with us. This is my favorite poke restaurant in Carrollton, and I have been coming here ever since I moved to Dallas in 2020. The staff here is super friendly and always provides a very warm welcome when coming into the restaurant. Their poke bowls are amazing and I always order the B40 Island bowl. The restaurant is large and cozy. I had the recommended poke bowl. After paying, the staff brought me a bowl of miso soup. It didn t take long time before she returned with my poke bowl. The portion was generous, with plenty of salad piled on the top. I was surprised to find at the bottom a thin layer of sticky rice. All in all it was a good meal and very filling.

The poké is very delicious and fresh at Below 40, and the people are really nice. I ordered a make my own poké, with half lettuce and half brown rice, picked specific toppings, and added on avocado to it. I also had jasmine milk tea, yum! I used to love coming here for years (since 2016), but I guess since the pandemic they must have changed their portion sizes. The fish used to be large almost one inch cube pieces, but now the pieces are sooo small, like I had to dig to find them, and its not even a decent amount of fish. The bowl was basically 90% rice. For $14, its crazy. Its a shame. The older lady is really nice and I understand theyre trying to continue making a profit with inflation, but its absolutely insane what you get for the price.

When it finally got here 90% of it was rice and only a very conservative single portion of salmon. I didnt spend 20 bucks just for rice... The best thing about this experience is the wonder older woman who took our order at the front. She was so sweet and patient for it to be our first time coming. I love poke. I have been to several in Dallas. We came to get two bowls to-go for dinner since we were in the area and I should have known as soon as I walked in something would be off. I personally have never been to a poke place that did not make the bowl in front of you. There was a counter and a wall that blocked the view of the bowl making process. The prices are good for the area $14 for a large bowl and it comes with 2 scoops of protein, only 1 sauce (I had to ask if I could have 2 kinds, which she did do for me), only 2 sides and then toppings. Since they dont make the bowl in sight, I didnt see it until I got home. The lady did give us some free house miso, and that is the best thing that I had. The bowl that was $14 was about half full (picture shown), the fish did not taste fresh, the rice tasted old like it wasnt fresh either and the whole bowl was so dry. I had to rummage in my condiment drawer to see what I could add to salvage the bowl. The spicy tuna is not in cubes like the salmon, but how crab meat is in a California roll. And to top it all off we both had tummy issues that night and the next morning. I do not recommend and if it wasnt for the sweet older lady, this would have been a 0 star experience.

We went to the Below 30 Poke in Plano and got the same thing we get in Carrollton. BYOB and kids chicken bowl without the sweet sauce. I didn t get a miso. My BYOB tasted the same but my kid s chicken bowl wasn t the same and nowhere near as good as the one at the Carrollton location. Very ok poke. Probably the worst poke I ve had in DFW. Fish was not very fresh. Pineapple was straight out of a can. Every other poke I ve had in DFW has coughed up for fresh pineapple and better quality fish. Ahi Poke bowl in Arlington actually flies in fresh fish from Hawaii daily. Also very small servings compared to other offerings. Also slightly more expensive than the rest of the area. Complimentary miso soup and cucumber/citrus water is a nice touch though, but the poke bowls have much to improve upon. Best poke in Carrollton probably. But if you want really good poke, go to Ahi Poke bowl in Arlington.

I will not be ordering from here again. When my $22 order arrived, it was missing all of the protein except a tiny amount of spicy tuna shoved to the side, missing red snapper protein, missing all the crab meat (which they charged me extra for when I asked to include extra crab, and although I was charged for the extra, no crab meat was in order at all), missing the garlic crunch, hardly any of the toppings I asked for, and an overabundance of the base greens. They basically sent me a $22 plastic bin full of greens. I dont think Ive ever had an order from any restaurant missing more items -- I would have been less annoyed if my order never arrived.

The bowl was just ok. I liked the variety of proteins. I did half rice/salad and there was way too much salad. The ingredient mix was already small and just got lost 8n all that salad. They were just ok. There are a few other spots a little better, but not in the area.

This place was actually one of my go-to poke spots through Summer, but something happened throughout the months up till now thats making me think otherwise. My recent orders have been less than satisfactory, mainly with the servings of fish and toppings. Hell, even the sauce. My usual is brown rice with spicy tuna and salmon, and I basically paid 15$ for a bowl of rice. Whatevers happening, I hope you fix it somehow and some way. For the foreseeable future though, I wont be coming back here anymore. Id rather get my moneys worth eating sushi than this.

The salmon and tuna poke bowl I ordered was so delicious!! The lovely woman at the register was very kind and brought my order out within ten minutes. Also, the interior design at this restaurant is beautiful (so many plants and amazing lighting). I will definitely be coming back for sushi and poke again soon!

Ive been to tons of poke places and I have NEVER had an experience like this. My bowl had a live maggot and it made me lose my appetite. I couldnt eat it. I was so disgusted that I didnt even bother to argue with the owner. Ill be taking my business elsewhere. Please be weary of eating here because you may get sick. To the owner of this establishment, you MUST be checking your food and make sure you provide FRESH meats and vegetables because this service is unacceptable.

First time trying this place and ordered it through a delivery service. Packaging was nicely done and wrapped up tight. Ordered the miso soup and make your own poke bowl. Flavors were great. Only reason I m giving 2 stars is because there was hardly any salmon in my order and the bowl was mostly filled with rice. Huge disappointment. Will be trying a different poke place in the future.

I ordered a to go build your own. It was very fresh and deliciously presented as well tasting which prepared fairly quickly. They also gave me a complimentary miso soup which was also pretty good. Considering most places dont always do well with miso soups unless its a higher end restaurant.

1 star because I got my money back. THEY DONT WEIGH FISH PORTIONS!! If I had a shellfish allergy shrimp I DIDNT ask for would have gotten me sick. Cashier could not refund my money, said I had to wait 2hrs for owners to return. When I said I will no longer do business here again all of a sudden they are right here. When I left from picking up food they were in the back...funny. I have never been to a restaurant where they dont weigh protein portions.

I really like poke and below 40 does some of the best in town. They give you miso soup at the beginning and I always put a little sriracha sauce in it to add a little spice to it. I normally get the spicy tuna and maybe crab in the bowl and it is always fresh. Ultimately, I could probably eat poke every day and will definitely be coming back.
