Candice, Christiane and Laurie handled my rather contentious divorce that had a lot of unusual circumstances to be navigated. They did a fantastic job of keeping on top of everything from our side (including me, when I needed to provide paperwork or information). They dealt with a difficult other party with professionalism. Candice is fantastic about guiding you through the process whether youre at the crying, ranting, angry or just worn out stage, all of which most people are during a divorce, I know I was! I was kept updated every step of the way - something that was really important to me since this was my first time dealing with a court system. Ultimately, I came out of the experience with a considerably better result that I could have ever hoped for. I never want to go through a divorce again - but if I do, I would have zero hesitation in using their services again or recommending them to others.

Deyerle Silva Smith, my attorney Laura Grumbine, and her team were exceptional throughout the very difficult process of divorce. I felt supported, prepared, and protected during the postnuptial review process, then the agonizing decision to file, during mediations and hearings. Laura consistently validated my experience and also tempered my expectations with what was probable. Laura Grumbine is the most professional person that I ve ever met. She is as cool as a cucumber before a judge. I ve never seen her stumble over a word. When representing me, she was always prepared, always conveyed my wishes, and I never felt disappointed by something she did. She was a brilliant and effective negotiator. My experience with my divorce was not that bad. It was not a typical divorce. It was very amicable. But I am the exception to the rule. I am certain if you are going through a divorce process it will not be as friendly as mine. Laura Grumbine (my attorney) and Kate Koscheski (Paralegal) made this life event as smooth as possible. Kate regularly updated me with the status of my case and made requests of any documents needed. She also was there to remind me if I forgot (which happens too often) or ommited anything. Divorce is never an easy process for anyone. Laura made sure I stayed focused and helped me achieve a settlement outcome that I was pleased with. I ve worked with Mr. Silva for about two years now due to ongoing and ever-changing unfortunate conflict, and his associate Ms. Lewis for one year. Mr. Silva is the third attorney I ve worked with. He and Ms. Lewis are the only attorneys I ve met that put mine and my kids needs over their wallets, and they ve been like that from the beginning. Additionally, he and his firm care about what is best for the children more than any other firm I ve dealt with. They are honest, know the law better than anyone else, and will not let your emotions rule your decision-making. He and his firm are trustworthy and true advocates for peaceful resolution. Most firms will let you do whatever you want knowing the courts will never rule in your favor due to how Texas Family Code is written and drag out conflict as long as possible to rake in revenue; Mr. Silva and his associates are not that firm. They are the absolute best.
