Summary: an extremely congested restaurant space, with rushed/turse staff, producing an impressive amount of quality food. Details: 1. SPACE. this space is a challenge for sure. I havent seen a single lunch in the 20+ times Ive been here that they are not MAXED OUT on lobby space. This produces a frustrated and difficult guest experience. Not the staffs fault. But the staff isnt doing anything to help it either. The dining room hosts are very pushy and even raising their voices at guests who are leaving their bag or a stroller even slightly in a walkway (even saw one person asked to move a wheelchair once... reasonable accomodation?). 2. STAFF. Ive been running restaurants for 12 years, and finding people who care about hospitality is the largest challenge of my role. Especially once a restaurant passes 5 or 6 million annually in sales, its a challenge. I get it. But challenges dont mean we accept the defeat, we just have to be more diligent to lead by example of what we expect to the staff we have. Theres rare eye contact here, theres no elevated tone of voice, and no personal connection. Worse is the overall communication. During our last visit, a staff member even picked up my child in a high chair to move us to another table without asking if that was okay. He didnt accost my family and i dont mean to make it dound that way. However, body language is clear when I have to take my childs high chair with them in it back from a member of staff who never asked if I was comfortable with them moving my kid. 3. ATMOSPHERE. The staff seems stressed with the rushed pace and im impressed for sure with the quality of food they put out despite that. Im not returning to the location for personal concerns with the staff, but the food is still phenomenal. A+ to kitchen crew! Kid-friendliness: Nothing to do for kids and they are really treated as more of an inconvenience than part of your group. Constantly making people move peoples high chairs and strollers etc. Wheelchair accessibility: Almost none. Youre asked to move your wheelchair to specific areas, but they are not reserved so you just wait on others to move.

Ordered the chicken salad sandwich on the croissant, and barely even got any chicken salad with it. It was delicious as always, but the amount of what I received was disappointing. It was definitely lacking. Usually you should be able to see the chicken salad on the sandwich when you cut it in half. This was all lettuce and tomato, with a thin sliver of chicken salad.

Overcharging BEWARE What freaking place sells you a salad and charges you for the ranch that goes on it separately ? McAlisters has never charged me for the salad as a side before, the sandwich is over $12+ and has always came with a side but not here, we were charged $3 dollars plus a $.99 for the ranch and $.99 for some honey mustard, we visit McAlisters many times before, order the exact same thing and always pay with a $20 bill and get some change but not here. Asked the guy that brought the food to the table and he told us that the salad isnt a free side, this was no special salad just the basic stuff that apparently doesnt even come with ranch

UPDATE-(9-26-23) I contacted the GM at McAlisters to see why I had not heard anything about what Corporate had found (since they took found multiple pieces of carrot cake with the same mysterious creatures or bits of something in the cake. He responded that he never heard anything back. I then asked, Well are you still serving the carrot cake?. He replied Yes. I then said Well arent you the least but concerned as to what all of those mysterious unidentified round worm like substances were/are?. He said Nope, you can call Corporate if you want. Well Thats what they (both managers) told me they did 3 weeks ago!! Plus they supposedly sent all of the cake samples to the Corporate office... Judging by the response I received from this review from the corporate office, it is apparent that the manager and general manager did not notify the corporate office at all that there were worm like substances in their food and that they continue to sell it. So due to their lack of concern of an identified mysterious bits of something that looks like worms in their carrot cake, needless to say, I would not recommend going there and I definitely will not be coming back, and I would highly recommend that the health department steps in and takes a look at their practices because theyre lack of concern for worm-like substances. They were found in numerous pieces of the carrot. Cake is very disturbing to me. They need to get their act together or better get the health department needs to step in! _________________________________ 9-4-23 I placed an order for delivery, which included a piece of carrot cake. I found round slivers of something baked inside the cake. I contacted the restaurant and spoke to the floor manager and later the general manager. They checked other pieces of cake still on their store and found the same thing. They had no explanation as to what it was. It was multi colored and firm but could easily be torn apart. It was NOT carrots, or coconut or zucchini. I investigated and after reading the list of ingredients could NOT figure out what it was. I can tell you it did look like worms and the texture and round shape and coloring was that of worms. They apologized and sent a coupon for 2 meals free. The district manager explain that they did not make the cake that it was made from another restaurant and then sent to a central facility and then brought into their restaurant. I will note that some people on Facebook that used to work at the deli said that it was actually made by the cheesecake factory and then went for sale at McAlisters deli. The district manager did tell me that he would send the pictures as well as what he found in his own store in other pieces of carrot cake. He was in all of that to the corporate office and get an explanation and would contact me within the next 2 days. It is now been two weeks and I have still not heard anything back!! So, I still have not heard of an explanation as to what this is. Therefore, I will not be going back and I will continue to let the public know about this incident and that there still has been no explanation. Please be careful what you eat and where you eat and inspect it carefully because this has now made me to where I do not ever want a piece of carrot cake from anywhere ever again.

I just cant understand what makes this franchise think its ok to charge like they are a restaurant and ask for tips, but really they are not. Me and my husband have been here several times, me more than him. Its been pleasing and tastey enough to return. However, the last 3 times weve visited, my husbands Reuban sandwich was not right. We tried to give it a chance but this recent time was terrible and the last time for him. There was miniscule to no sourcrout(for the 2nd time now.) First time wasnt very much meat. The dressing/cheese oozed out all over the sandwich, even reached the outside packaging The bread was wet, so soggy and just started to fall apart when picked up. Our whole meal was all squished in a small bag and tied tightly shut, so we did not to check our order before leaving as we usually do. After getting home and discovering this, i then expressed our issue and was offered a return for his sandwich.

My son wanted a carrot cake for his birthday at the last minute. My usual places were either closed today or didn t have what I wanted available. So, a Google search for the best carrot cake in town suggested McAlister s Deli. I asked if I could buy a whole cake, they said yes. FYI is cost me $62.79. The bakery charges $62 for a nine inch cake so the price was not an issue. The boy and I agreed, this was the best carrot cake we ve ever eaten. It was so moist and sweet. It s so rich that it s hard to eat a whole slice. Just the way a good carrot cake or cheesecake should be in my opinion. Very happy it turned out so delicious.

I ordered on DoorDash to get food delivered. They didnt label that there were 2 bags, so HALF of my order was left behind. When I called up there to get the remainder sent they said there was nothing they could do. I told them I would have a family member come get it. Food was very good . I ordered the McAlister Club with a side salad, but I was hugely disappointed they have removed the orange cranberry club from the menu. All in all it was a good meal and we will be back. **** Thank you to the Management for their response. I know menu changes are usually a corporate decision and I never hold that against any establishment . That particular item was my sons favorite before he passed in 2020, the memories we have while having a meal with my boy at McAlisters will always remain, however and that will always bring us back (along with the other delicious choice on the menu)

Almost every single time our order is wrong somehow. This time was no different, had to do delivery and was missing a whole side completely. If you place a to-go order at the Burleson location, just assume that it will not be correct ever. Something has to change at this location. Over the last few months, it just gets worse and worse with service and incomplete to-go orders. And it s clear from the other reviews, that others have noticed the same decline. I understand that mistakes happen and that it s mostly kids working there but when it s literally every single order, it s no longer a mistake, it s a management problem. The employees laughed about the error tonight. So, whoever is tasked with responding to these reviews, please don t bother with the sorry we failed you message you keep giving and no need to forward the complaint. I ve visited many McAlister s but this one was wonderful! Excellent service from start to finished. Came to the table and had our drinks refilled, quick food, fresh, hot sandwiches and the tea was perfection as always. Never had a horseradish roast beef sandwich and I absolutely loved it! This location is always clean, with a good atmosphere. The staff is friendly and ready to take your order. One minute its empty but the next there will be a line. We used to love ordering to-go from this location but the last few times something has been wrong with every order and today was the final straw. I try to check my orders before I leave but this one was tied up so tightly I couldnt open it. The right number of boxes and bowls was there and the receipt was correct so I left without checking.q I ordered a caesar salad, they didnt give us any dressing. The lettuce was absolutely disgusting. Some of it was literally just goo stuck to other pieces of lettuce. I threw away half of it because it was more than wilted, it was squishy and gross. The bread bowl that came with my husbands soup was completely stale. The potato I ordered was cold and there was no sour cream like there was supposed to be. Its such a shame as we order from here regularly but for what it costs, Id rather spend the money elsewhere.

I placed an order through the app and when I got it home it was wrong. I ordered a sandwich and was given a potato so it wasnt even close. I called and let them know and said I couldnt make it back out. I was told by a female manager that she would put the receipt in the office and I could get a replacement at a later date. I showed up today to get that replacement and I was told that they dont put names in a book or keep receipts and that they mail something that is for the replacement. I waited nearly 40 minutes for my online order before I walked over and was told by an employee that my order was behind the wall in the kitchen where I couldnt even see it. Ive ordered through Google before and thats never happened, its always been dropped off at the online order area. Always a great stop for lunch. The sandwiches are great. Sometimes the size is a little off for the cost. Ive gone sometimes and the sandwich is small and others its huge. The tea is really good and so are the cookies. A great quick lunch spot in Burleson.

We placed an order for curbside at 915pm. A good 45 minutes before closing. They said to be there by 927. At 940 we are still waiting patiently in the car. Not a customer in sight, we can see an employee cleaning tables inside. We dont call and we say nothing to the lady who brought our food out. We get home. Less than 5 minutes away and my soup is not only ice (it was never warmed) cold but not even filled half way. Mind you its a cup not a bowl. I call, a manager named Ashley answers. Im explaining the issue and all she can say is right. Then she says I was about to give you a voucher for tomorrow but you keep talking. Weve been on the phone for 45 seconds. Ummm. I just paid 30 bucks for a sandwich and a chose 2: 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup. If you dont like your job, find a new one. Its that simple. Do better. We will not be visiting this location again.

Went on Halloween night. Service was amazing! Cameron was the sweetest ever, and we feel like she truly went above and beyond with her customer service. Our food came out fast, hot, and delicious! We will definitely be back!

Very disappointing this time, ovens broken so no potatoes available, got the wrong chicken sandwich, but it was OK. The loaded potatoe soup was runny and lacked in flavor. French dip was the shining star! Great size for the price

We are here now. Customer service was terrible all the way around. young girl who took our order didnt give a receipt we had to ask for one and we had to tell her 2 times about my husbands Chilli he still didnt get it when the food came. The whole order was wrong she acted like she didnt hear my husband I had to get her out of the kitchen to get his Chilli then didnt offer crackers or anything came in a to go cup slopped in she acted as if she was stoned or on something none of the other employees tried to help. Except she had to get someone to show her how to give receipt. Husband thinks they are all high just standing around visiting with each other. We have never had service at McAllister before sad

I ended up having okay experience during my visits. This McAlisters goes above and beyond I see. I happened to not get my order the first time in a timely manner (over 40 min wait), second time same thing but my order wasnt fulfilled completely with what was ordered. McAlisters gave me the opportunity to reach out so they could make the situation better. They apologized for my experiences since my first visits werent the best and they ended up making it right. I enjoy their food and they do a great job hopefully in the future Ill look forward to continuing to be a customer.

This is my second time coming to this specific location. I only come cause its close to work and better than most options I have around to choose from. The first time took almost a hour just to get my order Though despite having to wait a long time my order was right. As of today I figured Id give them another go The wait to receive a order took 40 minutes. I got a chicken grilled club with a side of potato salad along with a pickle on the side and a extra side of potato salad. I waited 40 minutes to Recieve a sandwich and potato salad only and paid even tipped for a curbside order for it to not be fulfilled..

We loved this place until we didnt! The Burleson restaurant has gone downhill so dramatically that in the last 10 visits (8 months) our orders are wrong, in some way, 8 out of 10 times. Last night was no exception! We did curbside and we know that we ALWAYS have to check our order and of course my wife had to take one of our sandwiches inside to have it corrected. While sitting outside waiting for our food another man had to go inside and have his order corrected! When we returned home my daughter checked the sandwich they corrected and discovered that some DEGENERATE had taken 2 bites out of the meat! The picture Im posting is of my wifes sandwich from a few weeks ago. Were aware that service and serving sizes have decreased in the last 2 years and we accept that and do what we can to support this local restaurant and the jobs they provide. But its unbelievable that they cant even put enough meat on a $10 sandwich to cover half of the bread! The white part you see is turkey, the brown is bacon and those 2 things are only cover half of the bread. Yes, they refunded our money and we are done. We WILL NOT be returning.

Pretty dissapointed in my lunch. Thanks for the 1 sliver of onion and 1/2 tspn of horsey spread. The tomatoes are old and lettuce is soggy. The whole thing looked like everyone in the kitchen hates their job. The food also tasted old and salty. Not sure Ill order from here again. Every time I have used this location, whether it is Dine In, Carry Out OR Delivery, I get the same meal. I m not one to normally venture out and try new things, especially once I found something I like. The normal ordered sandwich comes with Honey Mustard, which I do not care for so I always ask for it to be removed when making the sandwich. The receipt ALWAYS shows No Honey Must , but every single time, there is honey mustard. I have gone back multiple times and try to get the sandwich correctly made, but it s been so consistent with the lack of details and the inability to read simple notes, that this place is off the radar for me now, which is a shame because this is the closest location to my home. Y all complain about pay, but can t seem to follow simple instructions or read notes regarding an order.

The food is great, along with the service and the atmosphere. I love this place! Their app is great letting you order and customize things the way youd prefer. What knocks it down a star is their debit card reader doesnt work with my bank card when making an in store purchase. I have to rely on ordering off the app where it does accept the card payment. Not fun having to play pick a card while other customers wait in line.

Update 7/2/22 This location is still terrible. My original review is from FOUR years ago and nothing has changed. Im not sure what the issue is but this location just cant get orders right. I always get the same thing (a half sandwich half potato) and order & pay for extra cheese, butter, sour cream with the potato. It never makes it into the bag. Half the time we have to call or go in to get them. Today we called (from togo), made sure to ask them to make sure they were in the bag, and they still didnt make it. I also ordered a half sweet tea half lemonade, added black cherry (and obviously paid for it) and it wasnt in the tea. When I asked the girl she said oh, yeah its in there it just got mixed. No, its not. I literally order the same thing every time and it clearly isnt in there and doesnt even taste like it. I genuinely hate this store and am so over it. I dont usually bag on food people because its not the most rewarding job and I get that things happen. But this store is nothing but issues. I just dont get it. Wee only went here once and it was such a bad first impression. The restaurant was completely dead, so we thought we wouldn t be long. We ended up waiting close to an hour (we ordered at the counter to-go). Someone finally came over and said oh sorry we gave your order to someone else, so we re making it fresh now . Ok...weird but it happens. We get home and our order isn t even right. They gave us someone else s sandwich (I think it was beef and sauerkraut, we wouldn t eat it), and the cheesecake we ordered and paid extra for fruit on cake plain and rubbery. I will say that he strawberry lemonade was good and the sandwich of mine that was correct tasted good as well. Over all though, it was a very bad first experience and we have yet to go back and probably never will. Unfortunate really.

I placed an order to go for pick up.. order was right but the potato soup was spoiled! I smelled it after taking a bite and about gagged! The uncrustable kids peanut butter and jelly was so old and dried out that my toddler wouldn t eat it. I buy those all the time so I know how soft and moist they can be.. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. I took a first date there to eat and talk. We talked for almost 4 hours. The staff kept checking on us and refilling our drinks. We felt welcome great whole time. Plus the tortilla soup is awesome.

Tip option needs to go. I am not tipping people for doing the job they are paid to do. If I see someone goes above and beyond then I will hand them a tip, which is rare now a days I am eating out less now b/c of cost of food plus now they want a tip for making your tea or handing you your food. Tipping is ridiculous now. Won t be back because of this but I guess it s a personal choice.
