Really love their enchiladas, rice and hot sauce but the time frame for getting food is ridiculous .I ve let it slide the past three times, as every place has a bad day, but it is EVERY time. Takes an hour to get your food, and it doesn t matter if it is crowded or not. Do better

This place serves really good burgers. However, I wont go here anymore because every single time we went, the server was rude, and/or the service was awful. The atmosphere was not great either. I wouldnt waste my time on a good burger. They are a dime a dozen. I would not recommend this place for the service alone.

La Joya, has the best breakfast tacos around this area! I cannot praise thier tacos enough!!! For 17 years I have been coming here, the same amazing family runs it! It s top notch food and service. I crave these tacos and their chips and salsa! Their lunch and dinner menu: chef s kiss. If you haven t been here it s a must! I walked in today for my breakfast taco order and there is a lady rolling and mashing the fresh tortillas mix!!! That s when you know you are in the right place! Did I mention the female owner?? She s amazing. Love this place!

I have tried many items on the menu here and have never been disappointed. A couple of standouts are the migas and chilaquiles con bistek. The fajita chicken has a good flavor as well. Also, they do have a really good burger, ha. I have a couple of standouts in downtown Wylie, and this is one of them.

Flavorless food, I feel like they are adapting to the Tex Mex customer, we ordered seafood broth and the taste was like water with minimal flavor, the rice was tasteless, low quality cheese in everything, I guess they adapt to the palate of the locals but they should write above that it is Tex Méx because it is not authentic Mexican. Very late but the waitresses were very friendly. I guess because it was Sunday they added more water to their broth. To my taste I see that they reduce the Mexican flavor because they have a lot of local and Mexican American customers. Delicious drinks

So I ve been here about 4 times. First time was great and then the quality of food just kept getting worse. Each time was worse than the last time. On 11/30/22, I ordered and paid $41.11 for 2 dz tamales (12 chicken/12 beef) for a Christmas gathering on 12/17 (a full 2 week advance notice and payment). PU time was scheduled for 10:30 am. My husband went with the receipt to pick them up at 10:30 am on 12/17... the girl looked at him as if she didnt have a clue what he was talking about! He waited for 15 minutes and was brought FROZEN tamales! I could have bought those at Costco or the grocery store for a lot less than $40.00!! AND when I opened them, I only had 22!! So I paid over $40 for frozen tamales and was shorted 2!! I called on 12/18 at 3:00 pm and was told the managers name is Jorge and he would be in at 5:00 pm. I wasnt able to call back on 12/18, but did call on 12/19 at 3:00 pm to speak with Jorge, and was told he wasnt in. I asked when he would be in and was told theyre in and out so I have no idea. I asked if he was one of the the owners since she referred to they and she said you asked for a manager. hes not the owner. I then asked since hes the manager, there should be a schedule posted of his work times, and she told me she doesnt know. I asked to speak with another manager (remember she said they earlier), and she told me there isnt one and she doesnt have time to deal with me right now AND HUNG UP ON ME! I called back and asked for her name and she told me I didnt need to know and HUNG UP AGAIN! I called back two more times and she didnt even answer... she just picked up the phone and immediately hung up!! ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!! I try to support small businesses, but this one doesnt deserve my business with rude employees like that girl!! I will be making a trip to La Joya to speak to the manager IN PERSON and get my money back and that will be the LAST TIME I ever set foot in that place. PS Google forces me to put at least one star to post my review otherwise they would get ZERO!!

I would sincerely like to thank La Joya for the hospitality and a tasty dinner. We went out, for what we expected to be just a dinner for my daughter Libertys 17th birthday. La Joya and our waitress Megan. Went above and beyond since we where the last family dining that evening. We where able to enjoy a cake, sing happy birthday. Delivery listed, but only door dash or similar. Not their fault but a $15 order comes out to $33 after fees. Delivery, door dash profit, driver fees, tip, miles, time of order, the color of your eyes, if you exist. By the time it s done.. it always pick up, pay a much higher amount, etc. certainly not traditional delivery. Dined in. The food was great and a good amount for the money. They have a very good selection, great service, good prices. Who could ask for more? Dietary restrictions: I had to ask the waitress to find out if my chosen dish had garlic in it, which I cant eat., but she knew which dishes contained it, so it worked out fine. Wheelchair accessibility: My mother-in-law was in a wheelchair and, even though the rows arent especially wide, we had no problem getting in and out.

Oh. Em. Gee. Been here for 5 months and this is the first place that I have found true Tex-Mex in or around Dallas! I am so thankful to have found La Joya! I got the Mexican Plate and subbed the hard taco for a puffy taco. Everything was fresh, they were true refried beans with manteca and the tamale and enchilada tasted like I was eating in the church hall with food made by the guadalupanas! It is the worst restaurant I have eaten at in the United States, the tables arrived were dirty, the waitress, it should be noted, was very friendly but to have my order ready I had to wait more than 50 minutes, in addition to other people who arrived after me They were already eating and we were not yet, I asked for a medium glass of hibiscus water, and they brought me a small one, a glass of horchata water had an ant or cockroach, I dont know what it was, I had to ask them to change it, when it arrived part of my meal, the bun of a hamburger was all burnt, I had to tell them to change it, plus they didnt put cheese on it, and I also had to ask for the hamburger that still hadnt arrived after 1 hour; They do prepare it well for me, I ordered a barbecue and it had no flavor, a complete disaster to be honest, I am not picky about food as I told the waitress but the truth is this restaurant is a disaster, I understand that maybe it doesnt have the Sufficient staff in the kitchen but they should be considerate and warn the diners of the precariousness and thus decide whether to consume in their establishment or not, it is a pity that they cannot give it 0 stars, but the only star goes for the waitress.

Great food and great prices when compared to other Mexican restaurants. We will travel there from Rockwall to eat at this hole in the wall no frills place. Worth every trip.

This is by far one of the BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANTS i have had here in the DFW area. I ordered to go through door dash and I was shocked on how delicious it was, and great price point, will get it again plus tell everyone I know to try it.5 stars more like 20 stars!!!

We had the pleasure of visiting this place for the 1st time, upon arriving the staff acknowledged us and said seat wherever you wish. Server was quick to greet and ask us what we wanted to drink. I asked out server what she recommended and she said our most popular plate is is the Carne Asada plate, and thats what I ordered. Food was so delicious, my daughter loved the meat she said its so soft and juicy, my wife enjoyed chips and salsa also. For the cost of food I couldnt complain way better than chips and salsa down 78. We will definitely be regulars here!!!

Called our order in; they said it would be ready in 20 minutes. It was ready but when I got home with it ( I live maybe 5 min. away) my food was not hot, slightly warm. I asked that the pico de gallo be put in a separate container because I can not eat Spicey food. They said they would, but they didn t. It was with the lettuce, sour cream and guacamole; all was too hot for me so it was thrown out. Plus the young lady waiting on me was rude. Will not go back.

Ive been sleeping on this place. My first time in wont be my last. Great service, great food. Bacon, veggie omelet, beans, potatoes, tortillas, chips and salsa, and tasty coffee. The prices are good. Cant wait to try supper some time next week.
