We recently celebrated our son s 5th birthday at Dunham Farm, and it was a wonderful experience! The venue is beautiful, and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring everything went smoothly. What made the day truly special was the opportunity to interact with all the animals. I bought pheasants from Dunham farm. Better check your birds before you leave the place and before you pay. They sell birds with cross beaks, crooked necks, and cross feet. I know I bought mine and they put in a box and I was going to put them in a cage but they insisted I leave them in box. I did and called them when I got home. They said they were injured after they left their place. What a crooked farm! If you believe Todd below, you are welcome to come and see the birds I purchased from Dunham farms. Not only one bird had illness es but two of the five I purchased did. I don t care what he says of me with all his lies, he s just trying to save his business. We had an amazing time at the farm! Our girls were so excited to meet capybaras up close. The experience was very personalized to our interests and needs. We loved that the feeding and interacting experience is private. The animals are well taken care of and the experience was exactly what we were expecting. My youngest said, as we were leaving, this is the best zoo ever! The owner is very personable and funny and even had our teens smiling by the end of the tour. We will definitely be back when we visit Texas!

My family and I got a time slot very last minute due to Labor Day and we got lucky. I wasnt sure what to expect but we showed up for our time slot and the owner/tour guide Todd Dunham was there ready to go. He was very informative on everything. Any questions we had he answered with great knowledge. It was a very personal one-on-one interaction with the animals. If you have never been to a wildlife encounter I would recommend going to Dunham Farms. It was an experience my family and I will never forget!

My daughter Dixie is obsessed with capybaras & the visit to The Dunham Farm was a 10th birthday present. Favorite gift ever! My daughter & her 2 friends said it was the BEST day of their lives! One of the best experiences we ve had, my sisters dream came true after seeing the capybaras up close. The animal are so sweet and kind, kid friendly and even the babies were so social. We will be back again in fall to see them. The staff was very friendly and taught us so much. We have been to multiple zoos and even safari parks, to see capybaras and this has been the best by far. The Dunham Farm was an absolute unforgettable experience! There are several animals to see and have an exclusive encounters with. By appointment only. With a reservation, you can have an exclusive encounter with one or all the animals. There is a variety of packages on the website to choose from. The animals are super calm, gentle, and approachable. During our visit, we had the opportunity to meet the very popular capybaras. We attend the first tour at 8:30AM which provided a great temperature before the summer heat settled in. The owner was very welcoming and provided an excellent tour around the farm before routing us to our exhibit. We fed, played, and took several pictures with the capybaras. Such a remarkable experience! The gift shop offer a variety of souvenirs such as T-shirts, pins, stickers, plushies, croc charms, blankets, and bags. By purchasing those items, you are helping to take care of all the animals. The owner was very responsive and gave a lot of information ahead of time to come ready for your visit. We did the 30min tour, but will do the 90min tour next time, it will worth the experience! : Not too wheelchair friendly since there is a lot of big rocks around the farm, will be hard to maneuver around. VIP packages would be best to purchase since it will include a tour with the 4wheeler. Thank you for being very accommodating during our first visit to the Dunham First! We will see you soon!

My family and I have heard amazing reviews from word of mouth in our area so picked up a couple of silkies and the birds themself are adorable! The owner is very organized and very wonderful to speak with. The farm is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Wow!! What a fantastic property!!! I brought my friend here last week to see the animals and have an experience with the capybaras. Todd is incredibly charismatic and knowledgeable, he takes great care of his animals and his property. It doesnt look like it should be as big as it is from the road! I definitely recommend going during spring or autumn when the weather is nice and everything is pretty and green. Make sure to call ahead and get an appointment, he books up quick! Ill certainly be going again. Also he has an amazing orchard, and the setup for his poultry is adorable!

We were thoroughly impressed with the knowledge and care that The Dunham Farm has put into raising Silkie Chickens. We toured the coops, looked at many beautiful and calm chickens, and came home with the cutest little fluffy chicks. They gave us everything we needed to make sure the chicks are well cared for, a shopping list, pictures, descriptions, texts, phone calls, just everything. Theyve settled in nicely and were just so happy with them.

We visited the farm while on vacation and had a great time with the animals. The Cappys are unique. The Emus and Wallabies were awesome and we enjoyed learning from Todd as he fielded our questions. We booked the VIP experience and there were 2 things I was a little disappointed with (1) lack of bathroom facilities on site for customer use (2) VIP time allocated for the experience, along with extra charges for over 4 participants, when no additional guides or vehicles are provided. First, in my opinon, a bathroom should be available on site for use. It was the 10th of the 12th important notes to remeber in a series of reminders. The other mom had noted to go and we all did, but I had to use it again andn had to leave the group / property at one point to drive up the road and lose 10m+ of my 90 min experience. When i asked to use a rest room, I felt I was shamed a bit by Todd for even asking. He looked at the other mom that booked saying, did you hear her question as if i was dumb for asking. I felt embarrassed and it set the tour off not to the best start for me. As someone who has an autoimmune disease that impacts digestion, it would be highly helpful to have an onsite option or at least a portable toilet / out house. Secondly, the VIP The website advertises in multiple places in bold that you get to experience ALL enclosures , which was a little unrealistic for 90 min to experience 20 enclosires and transport. We did not get to see experience ALL animals encounter and had to quickly drive by some to get to others we liked the most- perhaps 2h is more appropriate. Basic math (90min / 20 enclosures = 4.5 min per animal, not including transport. Our tour was also very rushed as we were left with the wallaby and tourties for a very long time which dampened time for other experiences. Id recommend the farm increase to 2h to give participants a less rushed experience. I also felt a little over charged....Our group had 6 people (3 adults and 3 kids), which increased the price $100 per person over 4ppl ) going from $400 for 90m to $600 for 90min - yet there was no extra guide or transport vehicle provided. As a result there was 7 of us with Todd in a vehicle designed for 6 - its a safety concern to me as an engineer. My daughter willingly sat in the back storage area of the vehicle (which is unsafe) and my friend put her daughter on her lap so we could best fit. If you go with a group of 6 adults, you may consider asking for a 2nd vehicle so all can safely transport in the secured area inside the vehicle netted area. Overall, we did like the limited time we did get for our experience, we loved the animals.

We went and bought some more fruit trees from Dunham Farm. They have great quality trees and plants. Everything we have purchased is made for North Texas. We came for the capybaras especially but also fell in love with the wallabys, tortoises, pig and the bunnies. I cannot recommend Dunham Farms highly enough. HIGHLY RECOMMEND I had a lone Silkie, guineas and ducks that needed some friends to join the flock and The Dunham Farm made it happen. Despite the fact that the list online isnt exactly up to date and they didnt have what I was planning on buying, I was pleasantly content when I left. They have plenty to choose from, things youre not gonna find at home depot or lowes (and some things you will). Prices are fair enough, to be sure. But the condition of their plants? Fantastic, everything is healthy and lush, and virtually no sign of pest damage. And yet, the best part, in my opinion, their plants hardened to this psychotic Texas climate. That counts for more than some may ever understand. This place is definitely worth checking out, though you might double check that they have what you want before you make the drive out. (Its a busy place, so not updating every online list is easily forgivable in my eyes)

FRAUD - STAY AWAY!!! This is a fraudulent business. The owner pays for fake reviews, something I didn t realize until he actually stole our money. After sending an inquiry about purchasing silkies, I received some absolutely bizarre communication concerning pricing. I thought it was off, but some people just are weird so I chalked it up to nothing. My husband called the next day, mistakingly scheduling a tour rather than scheduling a chicken pick up because the guy on the other end simply wouldn t accept that we just pick up chickens. My husband prepaid for the tour during the call, but within the same day called back to let the owner know he was mistaken- I was never told you had to have a tour in order to purchase chickens. This man literally REFUSED to give our money back from the tour we NEVER went on- claiming he HAD MISSED OPPORTUNITY COSTS. From a FIVE MINUTE phone call and less than 24 hours. He sent absolutely bizarre messages stating that giving our money back wasn t that simple . To be very clear- we did not take a tour and did not receive any chickens. Actually stole our money! I have NEVER seen this kind of behavior from a professional business- please BEWARE.

We just had a much loved family member pass. I was in desperate search of a purple rose bush to give to my MIL in remembrance of my FIL. I found the Dunham farm while searching online. I left both a message and a text letting them know my situation and what I was looking for. The owner did not hesitate to message me back and make accommodations. We spoke yesterday and he made an appointment (for today) for me to come look at the rose bushes he had. We ended up getting 2, one for my MIL and one for my SO to plant in his fathers memory. My fiancé and I highly recommend booking the VIP package! It was such an amazing experience to interact with so many of the animals. The wallabies and capybaras were our absolute favorite to pet and feed. The wallabies warmed up to us pretty quickly and let us pet them while they sniffed us a bunch and ate the food we gave them. The capybaras were super outgoing and the babies are PRECIOUS. There are so many beautiful animals to see at the farm and you will definitely be laughing at their goofy personalities and melting at their cuteness. Mr. Dunham was the coolest host and even gave us a joy ride in the ATV before we left! The whole tour was definitely an unforgettable experience. We purchased two silkie chicks from Dunham Farm this weekend. Not only are facilities top notch and the farms grounds beautiful, the chickens are obviously very healthy and happy. We got to meet a bunch of the adult silkies he has and they are spectacular. A third generation silky breeder with 50 years of experience himself, Todd was absolutely phenomenal to work with and incredibly knowledgeable. First he talked me through all the options by phone so I could make an informed choice before purchasing. After we picked up the chicks, he texted me detailed instructions WITH photos on exactly what supplies & food to get, how to set up the brooder correctly and asked me to send a photo of the set up to him so he could provide feedback on what to tweak to insure the chicks optimal environment and ongoing health. He also followed up with additional information on care and maintenance of teen and adult silkies which was very helpful and he even texted the following day to check on how they were doing after the first night in their new home. Beyond impressed with the high touch interaction. It really helped me feel more confident about giving the babies the right care. if you are looking for a top notch breeder, called Todd at Dunham Farms. You won t be disappointed. I m a fan for life. Loved, loved, loved. My husband got us a tour for my anniversary because I love capybaras and I got to do the encounter with. Got to feed them and pet them and it was awesome. I was also looking to get silkie chickens, and they had a variety of colors so this is the place to go! Aside from that, they have fruit trees and shrubs for sale which was a nice addition. I cannot express how much I love this place! The owner, Todd, is such a nice man and he helped us pick out the perfect silkies for our backyard chicken coop. They are just gorgeous and the farm is beautiful, we can t wait to come back for a family event! So its been a few days since my family and I stopped by to pick up 9 Silkie chicks. I have to say this place is amazing my kids had a great time and my son actually had fun and he is your typical teenager. We are hopping to make an appointment to do the VIP package soon, but I also want yo go by and pick up some of their plants as well. The Dunham Farm has an excellent selection of trees and plants available that are tried and true for this area of Texas. Called and was able to make a quick appointment to stop by and look at his selection, and left with a wealth of knowledge and a ton of trees and plants! We got 21 silkies from the Dunham Farm a few years ago. After some fantastic guidance from Todd, the owner, I made sure I had the right type of pens for my chickens and food and care. My kids love them and it has been a fun project for our family raising these from chicks. EDIT: We went back out to experience the new VIP Tour of the wildlife park and it was incredible! Our kids loved petting and feeding all the Tortoises and Wallaby. My favorite were the capybaras as they were very friendly and were eager to interact with us. Todd is an expert and a great host. Thanks again!

We are so excited to have visited the Dunham Farm. We came home with beautiful weeping willow trees, strawberry and black berry bushes. The best part was coming home with Silkie chicks. Not only did we get pure silkie chickens but they care very well for them and made sure we had all the info we needed to create a good home for them. Anyone can sell animals but the Dunham Farm showed my family and I they truly care about their animals even after they have left the farm. I m so excited to see our silkie chicks grow and feel at ease knowing if we have any questions they are more than happy to help. They also had many fruit trees so we will definitely be returning. 10 out of 10.

I recently took my friend and our four children (ages 4-9 yo) to Dunham Farm to purchase some silkie chicks. Originally the plan was for my friend to pick out some chicks for her bday, but after speaking with Todd on the phone prior to our visit, we decided to take the kids to do a tour of the wildlife park also! Todd is EXTREMELY knowledgeable of all of his animals, making it a fun little trip for the kids! My friend loves her chicks, and we also purchased some pine trees sold at the farm! Would definitely recommend.

My family visited The Dunham Farm again to check out The Dunham Wildlife Park. We did the VIP Tour and the kids had a blast! We loved getting to experience being up close to various exotic animals and hand feeding them. I personally loved feeding the various kinds of large tortoises. The capybara are a lot bigger than you might think but they are very friendly and also fun to feed. There are also wallabies if you ever wanted to be up close to what is essentially a miniature kangaroo.

These little beauties are so adorable.Todd s 20+ years of experience on Silkies and Poultry in general is outstanding. He knows chickens and is very careful to ask what your end goal will be concerning the chicks to be sure you get the right amount(pets vs egg layers or both). We just loved Todd s upfront no nonsense honestly that helped us make our final decision. I highly recommend Todd and Dunham Farms! When looking to purchase Silkies, I found Dunham Farms website and sent a message for more information. Todd responded quickly via phone call and shared alot of great information regarding the Silkie breed. His knowledge and mannerism are what originally drew us to purchasing from Dunham Farms, but after arriving and seeing the quality of chickens we were getting we knew he was the right choice. You definitely pay for what you get with them....Excellent! We went for 15 birds, left with 22!! He gave us all the information before we even left the farm to make sure our chickens would get the best care and checked in that evening to make sure we didnt have any questions/concerns. Bought a dwarf bunny from Todd and we couldnt be happier. Were first time bunny owners but Todd is extremely knowledgeable and he patiently educates you on how to care for your new family member. Truly a 5-star experience. So much more value with a personalized, up-close and personal VIP tour to see a variety of exotic animals. We originally intended to just buy silkies, but the kids wanted to try an animal experience. Based on previous animal encounters at other places, the Dunham farm is more bang for your buck. Its not rushed. Its educational and informative. Its engaging for the parents AND kiddos. The farm is well-kempt, and the animals look happy and healthy. We hope to find time to book an overnight camping experience so I can take the boys fishing in the well-stocked pond and actually catch something. Thanks for the Dunham Farm for the VIP experience. We wont settle for the typical zoo trip since we have had the personalized, professional trek around your acreage.

Our daughter has been wanting a pet bunny for so long and we finally decided to get her one. I heard about Dunham Farms from a friend and decided to reach out. Todd was very informative from the very beginning of the process. He told us what to expect, timeframe, cost, etc. When we picked up the bunny, our daughter was so excited. Guess they cannot read. I understand they are owners, however they are a business and should put their ads in the business/dealer section of craigs list. It is downright annoying and I was to look for chickens or rabbits, I sure as heck would go elsewhere. They inundate CL with their ads, there is no need to do that at all.
