Literally an office full of professionals that don t want to do their job. They will prescribe, write and refill psych medications but will not provide specific documentations. All they want to do is referral for this, referral for that, they don t actually want to treat you for anything. Like why are you the in the healthcare field if you don t want to do like your job? They referred me to a liver specialist that treated me beyond poorly. Avoid this office at all costs

As a teenager, I was dealing with A LOT of very extreme, concerning, chronic and mysterious symptoms and at the time, Dr Etter was my PCP. I went to this clinic SO MANY times as a teen, desperate for medical help. He was always short with me, and over time, seemed to get frustrated by the fact that I kept coming back begging for answers and diagnostic testing, because I kept getting worse. I was dismissed over and over again, I was gaslit over and over again. Eventually, he told me he didn t have time for this and basically just prescribed a higher dose of antibiotics every time in went in looking for help. We asked if it could be autoimmune, asked to run testing, he was very lazy about it, reluctant, and refused some tests we requested. Whatever. He told me at one point to write down all my symptoms in a journal every time I was having them, so I did this for a YEAR. When the journal was full, I brought it in the show him LIKE HE ASKED ME TO DO A YEAR EARLIER!!!!! And he very impatiently said Can you please stop taking and narrow it down to one main symptom!?!? And REFUSED to look that the journal himself. The audacity. Never ever helped me find answers, just gaslit me and treated me like an inconvenience every single time I ever went into that office. I would rather figure out my own health issues than go back to this office. I eventually did figure out what was wrong with me all this time. When I was 7, I went through a very extreme carbon monoxide poisoning (Dr Etter NEVER though to ask me about or look into my childhood medical history, and he never thought to ask about really much of anything at all honestly) and an MRI I had done at 22 (I was seeing Dr Etter when I was 14-16 year old trying to get a diagnosis and being DISMISSED for THESE PROBLEMS) scans and testing revealed that I had neurological issues including brain atrophy and I was being poisoned by mold my entire life, including my teens, and had gone undiagnosed for so long that I developed a condition called Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome which is a multi-system, multi-symptom illness that I had more than 40 symptoms of by the time I got diagnosed. This made me think back to when Dr Etter so impatiently asked me to narrow it down to one symptom. If he s reading this he probably remembers me, because as a 16 year old I went off on him during my last visit and never returned, stating, excuse me, I m sorry, I may not be a doctor like you, maybe I m just a stupid teenager but I KNOW one thing for sure, is that there is NO autoimmune condition in the world that can be diagnosed with one symptom. I became disabled at the age of 21 with CIRS, POTS, Delayed Neurological Sequelae and an autoimmune disease that attacks the cells of my stomach lining. If my medical care had been adequate as a teenager, I wouldn t have ever been disabled by my condition in the first place. I became disabled 6 years after I started searching for answers. Don t waste your time at Burleson Old Town medical if you have anything unusual going on, especially if you are a young person or a female dealing with mysterious, chronic health issues. Save yourself some money and go see a legitimate functional medicine practitioner instead of this guy. He s an absolute joke of a DO. The front desk lady is a B too. I went there a year ago to pickup my medical records on paper. They charged me by the page, and half of every single page was BLANK!!!!! HAKF OF THE OAGE WAS BLANK AND I PAID FOR IT and the front desk lady was rude and borderline manipulative about the way she tried to convince me not to go switch doctors and I said ummmm I haven t come here since I was 16. Yall are not my doctors anymore. I left years ago because yall couldn t help me so I will not be coming back.

I have been seeing Dr Etter for years and all of his staff is wonderful. I am in health care myself therefore my expectations and standards of other medical providers and offices are high. Brandi is always polite and efficient, the lab staff is kind, had excellent skills, and is fast. Definitely recommend this office and staff for care.

My old doctor retired and he was very communicative and fast acting which I suppose I got used to and after he retired he recommended me to old town medical and I don t know why, they have been the slowest and most difficult doctors office I have ever dealt with, they do not keep up with the info you give them and you have to constantly remind them of any changes, I gave them my current insurance card and they still charged my old insurance and so did the pharmacy, I ve waited a week just for prescriptions to be sent and after telling 3 different people my meds needed to change they still sent my old prescription. I am on day 3 of waiting for my prescription just to be sent to the pharmacy. It s very frustrating especially after paying them 1k in the last year and being patient and polite. I Will definitely be changing doctors soon.

Since Paiges departure, this establishment has undergone noticeable changes. Despite informing them about rescheduling and calling in advance, I was still charged a fee for not showing up. Strangely, waiting for more than 30 minutes in the office to see a doctor seemed inconsequential to them. The level of professionalism exhibited by the front desk staff is severely lacking.

I just had my first visit, and honestly, Im not that happy. Firstly, when I made the appointment I wasnt told that it would be with the nurse practioner, as opposed to the doctor. My PCP is listed as Dr. Etter, but the doctor and NPs arent even in the same office. I was sent across the hall. Second, the NP seemed fairly dismissive of my concerns. I finally decided to talk to a doctor about my GI issues (suspected IBS) and he didnt really seem to listen. I explained that I have frequent diarrhea and very seldom have normal stools. Even when theyre normal, theyre still pretty soft. He said that wasnt that abnormal. I reiterated that 9 times out of 10, its basically water. I also explained I have bad abdominal cramping thats relived by having a BM. He just told me to avoid gluten. Which, if he suspects celiac, there are tests for that. As opposed to going out and buying special (often expensive) foods and seeing if that might help. The only thing he seemed to want to treat me for (medicate me for) was my depression. I told him that I wasnt currently on any medications, but he asked if I had been, so I explained what I had taken. I also mentioned having some recurring depression lately and that I might consider taking something if I felt I needed to, but would likely re-up with my therapist first. He insisted on giving me a screening, and mentioned few different medications. Which, I suppose is being thorough, but it felt more like he views me as simply an anxious woman who exaggerates symptoms, and not someone whos had GI issues as long as I can remember and who finally decided to talk to a doctor about it.

Ive been going there for about 6 months now. Dr. Austin and Staff are pleasant in the office.. Now I guess when they go to lunch/after hours, it rolls to an on-call. I have spoke to a man and a woman and they both were extremely rude and when I tried to get clarification as to why I cant leave my number for them to call me back when they are next available, the woman sighed and hung up, and the man tried to explain and When I said thanks he just hung up as well. Not the best customer service, I just hope I always reach them when they are in the office . The on-call support is garbage.

Tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Etter today. Apparently, he does not see patients EXCEPT on a concierge bases only. You must pay $1800 annually and her will see you and not bill insurance. He is listed as a PCP on BCBS website, but I was told that you will only get to see a Nurse Practitioner.

There are seriously not enough stars that I can give this office. The Office staff is incredible. I specifically deal with Krystina & Brenda very often and they always go beyond the call of duty. Dr. Paige Norris is my PCP and she is definitely the best doctor that I have ever had. She takes her time to listen to my concerns and always addresses each one without rushing me. I truly feel like she cares. I have also seen Dr. Austin a few times and he is a great doctor as well. I also see the allergist, Alicia, at this office, and she is amazing as well. I have ZERO complaints about this Office and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good and thorough doctors office and staff. Thank you all for the outstanding customer service that you guys provide!!

Ended up having a lot of medical issues and was just given the run around, they keep ordering tests and promising to have results but I dont even think a doctor is reviewing. No one is giving me any help with the symptoms and I am physically getting worse.

I began seeing Dr Etter when he closed the Cleburne office. I went with the concierge service several years ago. Dr Etter is the best doctor Ive had in ages, at least since I retired from the Navy in November 1995. If a specialist is needed, he sends me where I need to go. For me, there is no better. I highly recommend his practice.

If I could give zero I would have! Every time my prescriptions needs to have the Dr ok on them, they NEVER got the request it from the pharmacy! Today (Wednesday) was the last straw...I called because I drove into Burleson (1 1/2 hour round trip) to get my RX that was called in Monday and low and behold yet again they had not gotten an ok from the Dr!!! When I called I was told I need to call them myself to make sure they were go an ok! If Id have done that they would have said the pharmacy needs to fax a request! Why have office staff if they DONT DO THEIR JOB! And why would I continue to go there when Ive NEVER, in the 3+ years Ive been going there, layed eyes on an actual doctor. Im beyond done!

I went in 11-20-17 for an appointment. Beforehand, I called to ask if I should fast before my blood work, they told me probably not and that if I needed to, I could just make another appointment. I fasted anyway and arrived early. I went to my car to make sure I had my checkbook. I go back in after finding my checkbook. They told me that they do not accept checks. I had my chechbook because my debit card was being cancelled. I told them I could go home and get another debit card, they told me it would be past my appointment if I did so and they would have to reschedule me. I dont ask much from businesses, but I do ask you tell me in advance what payment medieums you take, and that you know weather I should fast or not. If it is unknown, I should be told yes, not no. Everyday ordinary people want as few trips to the doctor as possible. I fasted for them, drove to another town and this is what happened.

Joe and Austin have worked with our family for years. We have an Autistic child and theyve been wonderful helping us with his care. There is usually a long wait, but that is because they take their time and talk to each patient. My brother had to stop using them because of no medicare (which sucked) but we love them and will continue to use them as our PCP. I agree with the other review that says people giving him a 1 star rating for not taking medicare is preposterous. Take that out on your legislator - not the doctor.

I paid cash for my visit and blood work as the amount was substantially lower than to run it through insurance. They still billed my insurance. I called and talked to Sara on two occasions was told it would be straightened out. Called back again and was told by Sara that Kristi was now handling it. As far as I know it is still a double billing. I have not had a return call. I am now notifying my insurance of the matter.

I have been a patient of Dr. Joe Etter, DO for over 5 years now and I can say as a Paramedic and someone that has worked side by side many doctors for over 13 years, he is one of, if not the absolute best I have ever met. If you can not get in to see him, there is a reason. He is beloved by every patient of his I have ever talked to. It is because of the way he treats and talks to his patients. It is also the level of care and individual care his office gives. If your issues are with his Nurse Practitioners (what some are calling PAs), get used to it, that is efficient use of resources and you can tell they work under him because they deliver the SAME excellent service he always has. Love them folks!!! I have seen negative reviews on here from the medicare issue to what he wears. PREPOSTEROUS! If you have an issue with him as far as medicare you need to look at your legislature and whom you are voting for. If you have an issue with dress???? HIlarious. Joe Etter, DO and his team of Nurse Practitioners (or PAs if he has them) are the best primary care physician team I have ever had and any one coming in second place isnt even in the same solar system. He really just is that good of a Doctor.

You are right Dr. Etter is saccharine sweet, but he is an excellent physician and especially for internal medicine. Also FYI - wearing cowboy boots has nothing to do with being professional or a good doctor other than it appeals to most folks that live in this area and would not expect anything any different from him. You are entitled to your opinion, but I would have to say that if you are grading doctors on what type of clothes they were beware...some of the most intelligent professionals on this planet would never dress in a suit or tie or labcoat.
