First time trying this place yesterday. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous, love the murals and the small dining feel. The food was amazing- we went at 1pm but I got the Dulce de Leche toast anyways. This is definitely my new favorite, great flavor! I also tried the Cafe de Coco which was amazing, comforting and had such a cute presentation! My fiance got the Tostadas de Tinga. The presentation was beautiful and he said it was great and very filling. Overall I highly recommend, food, service, and atmosphere were great!

What a hidden gem! This place will for sure be a local favorite for a long time to come if they keep the same quality. They give you chips and salsa to start with that include a salsa verde, a more typical red salsa and ALSO a little cup of beans and cheese. The chips were the really thick kind. They were good, and didnt do that thing some chips do where they stab you in the gums. You know? You know what Im talking about, I know you do. The food was all really good and really pretty also! I tried the Enmoladas - Holy Mole! I will absolutely be going back to try more menu items! They also have a full bar and make some specialty cocktails. I had one of their seasonal cocktails - it was refreshing, delicious and really pretty! I was there on a Sunday around 2 (they close at 3 on Sundays) and about half of the restaurant was full. I think thats a good sign!! Its a totally weirdo time to go eat lunch.

Food was great and up to snuff, although I had to get additional oregano for my pozole, but they were quick to get it. We asked to put the Olympics on the television and the only hesitation was finding the remote and figuring out what channel. My wife had the pasta poblano, and wow it had heat and was full of flavor. Her margarita was fresh good flavored and strong. My son had the flautas, they were different and did not disappoint. He also had the horchata, it was slightly heavy on the rice but well balanced in flavor. We would have tried the desert had we been staying the night, but had a 3 hour drive ahead of us. Maybe another trip! We will be visiting again!

They also have so many gluten free options that Ive been able to try a good portion of the menu. Ive had no issues with cross contamination when I eat here. They also have a couple of gluten free desserts which is pretty uncommon in my opinion. This is my go to date night place! 1st of all, its so loud in here you cannot even carry on a conversation. Secondly the over priced food isnt very good and has way to much nonsense on the unreadable menu that has no business being anywhere near actual Mexican food. Only thing worth eating are the chips, which were very good. I will not be coming back.

We tried Fridas Kitchen&Bar today and oh my goodness, what a unique spot! The food presentation is beautiful and it all tasted delicious! This definitely isn t the usual tex-mex (not hating, I love Tex-mex), it s authentic and unique to the area. They have a fabulous drink menu, pictured is the Fresca margarita, which I loved. It was crowded at lunch time but there was plenty of seating and our server (Jennifer) was attentive and just really good at her job. Can t wait to go back! Oh and I m not sure if there s a kid s menu but our seven year old LOVED the churro waffles off the brunch menu.

I went to Fridas last night after hearing a lot about it from my co-workers. Its a small place with limited seating, so we decided to sit at the bar to free up the tables. Surprisingly, it was quite loud for a Wednesday night once the DJ started playing. The service at the bar was nice but a bit slow. We ordered carne asada tacos, birria tacos, carrot cake, and a mixed drink. The carne asada was good, and the accompanying salsa was super spicy. The birria was good too, but the tortilla was a bit soggy they should work on frying it better to create a crust. The mixed drink was a bit bitter, but adding a couple of limes helped. The carrot cake was not very good it was dense and heavy. I wouldnt recommend it. I think adding pictures to the menu would make it more appealing, as we didnt notice some items like bone marrow until they were served to other customers. Despite these issues, I would come back to try other items and would recommend this place!

Update 13 APR: Had brunch outside with the puppy. Service was excellent. Chicken and waffles were good, Chilaquites were very good and filling. Their house coffees are a treat. See pics. I will update this in a month after we go back (we WILL go back). Fridas is a family owned restaurant that has been opened less than 2 weeks at the time I wrote this. Food 6 out of 5 (yeah, and not too salty) Service - room to improve. Heart - 5/5. Anna, the manager, ended up waiting on us and she owned the problems and went above and beyond to be our host during the long visit.

Local here. First time visit. This place is hipster-inspired, authentic-Latin cuisine and I m not upset by it. This is a much needed staple for our community. Upscale, but in no way inaccessible to someone looking for a good meal. Great variety on the menu to satisfy any carving, including cocktails. And the Spiked Horchata was just great! Fun environment, including the Frida inspired art and ambiance. When we visited, the place was packed and a tad loud; the dining space is a big open room so the acoustics travel, it seems. If you want a more intimate setting, maybe visit during off peak hours. They do have outside seating, but the Texas heat will make it difficult to enjoy, I can imagine. Service was okay; I had the sense the waiter may have been new so no judgement in that area. This place is worth a visit. Give it a try, I know we will. (They have a brunch menu we will for sure come back to try)

Great experience and delicious food! We went on Mother s Day without a reservation, the wait was long as expected but not as long as other places. Half of us waited at the bar and enjoyed the Mimosa Kit with warm chips and salsa & beans (ALL so good!). The staff was so kind and accommodating. We were seated and it did take a while to put in our order but we enjoyed the mariachi band & ambiance. Food was delicious birria tacos, menudo (lots of meat, no hominy), French toast with some kind of chocolate, chilaquiles were the best (we got extra eggs & birria on top!), carrot cake for dessert! Super affordable! We will definitely be back, when in town!

What a fantastic place and even better food. I rarely give out 5 star ratings after 1 visit but this place deserves it. This isnt your typical hole in the wall Tex Mex joint (which I love btw). The interior is beautifully decorated with images of artist Frida Kahlo and the menu has many items you dont typically find in local Mexican restaurants. They serve breakfast/brunch items from opening until 3 pm in addition to the normal menu. There are several vegetarian and healthier items served here as well as pork and beef items. Looking at the menu on their website youll see photos of many of the items, which are all beautiful. I thought there was no way the actual food would come out looking like these photos, but it does. Seriously, the presentation of the dishes is something you normally find in fancy resorts or uber-expensive restaurants. We were served house made tortilla chips with a tomatillo salsa, red salsa and a freaking phenomenal black bean dip. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicana, which are chicken enchiladas in a guaijillo sauce with chorizo fried potatoes, Spanish rice and more of those delicious refried black beans. Amazing dish made with quality ingredients and almost too pretty to eat. My wife had the Tostadas de tinga, the shredded chicken is sautéed in a spicy chipotle sauce served on house made tortilla shells. She loved her dish as well and she didnt find it too spicy. The jalapeno green sauce that came on the side was too much heat for her but was great on my enchiladas. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and checked on us often and the manager came out as well to check on us, bonus points for that. I cant really say enough good things about an impressive first visit. Still need convincing? You get all this for maybe a dollar or two more a dish than you get at your typical hole in the wall.

I stopped in to grab something to take home for lunch. It is my favorite new place to eat! I had the Tacos Campesinos described as: Three tacos filled with a braised mix of squash, onion, tomato, corn and avocado. The best tasting tacos I think I may have ever had. I wanted something very lite and it was so tasty. $14 and We split the tacos. While waiting i perused the rest of the menu. I can not wait to try somethings I saw on it. So glad you all opened up. Ill be back soon and bring some people with me!!! Vegetarian options: I had the tacos campesinos . Next time I will try the ones with the sweet potatoes. there were other things for vegetarians and Vegans as well. Might have to have them hold the cheese but my tacos didnt have cheese on them anyway so I just ordered them the way they came. They really are very good.

Atmosphere: Upon entering, the decor is very welcoming and various amounts of prints featuring Frida, quote, but what draws your attention is the mural alongside the wall. The music fits the ambiance of the establishment and at the appropriate level so you can converse with others. Service: We were greeted by many staff upon entering and upon being seated, the waitress told us she would bring us waters and asked if we needed any assistance with the menu. The amount of recommendations and even going the extra mile to obtain some information regarding the entrees was phenomenal. Quality: I ordered the Tostadas de Tinga, it had a great flavor and the sauce that accompanied the entree gave it that extra flare of spice, but made it more flavorful. The portion was a good size and was filling. Looking over the menu, it looks like I will be coming back again, especially for brunch. Filis Fave: Whenever I see an establishment with Limonada (Agua Fresca) on the menu, I always get it and this one didnt disappoint. Such a refreshing taste to accompany the meal. Parking: Shares parking lot with other businesses in the plaza.

Frida s is the absolute perfect place for date night, brunch with friends or large group party! The staff is fun and genuine. The chef and owner has perfectly crafted their menu for a beautiful dining experience. I literally feel like I m in the trendiest club when I m here. Such a fun time!!!!!
