Great little hole in the wall spot. Went on a taco Tuesday and spent $14 after taxes on 8 tacos with chips and salsa. Will definitely head there again to try other menu options as their tacos were great (considering Texas doesn t have many authentic Mexican places around here) and cheap!

Had my mouth set for birria tacos and they did not disappoint. Mostly crispy and quite a bit of cheese. I like that they are served without rice & beans. I wouldnt have room for them, especially at lunch. The consume was good and hot and the tea was cold. The waitress was pleasant. I docked off a bit because the music was loud, even after I mentioned it. I couldnt hear the video in my Shokz and if someone was at the table, we would have had to yell. The chips were good, but my preference is the thin kind. Nothing wrong with them, but not my choice. The salsa was the hot kind (from the fire, not spicy).

Didn t eat a full meal, sat at the bar and only ordered some beans, tacos and queso. The beans and queso were lukewarm at best and had to send them back. Barbacoa and al pastor tacos were decent. Iced tea was dreadful and tasted sour. I d give it one star except the bartenders were great

We ordered the quesabirria tacos and grilled chicken nachos and they were delicious! Dont drink the tea. It had a bad flavor cause of the faucet water. The music is very loud for my taste. Should be lowered so people can have a decent conversation and not feel your sitting in a night club.

Today 2/16/2024 I visited Here coming from Katy, Texas and the Food and the Service is a Perfect 100!! I hope there can hopefully be a Location in Katy, Texas one Day!! Our Waitress was absolutely Sweet, Kind, very Patient and gave us the best Restaurant Experience Ever!! I don t remember Her Name, But we ordered Fried Tilapia, Shrimp Cocktails, and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and the Food was EPIC!! The salsas were AMAZING. The Chips and Dip was AMAZING!! The Atmosphere, the EVERYTHING, was AWESOME!! THANKS TO THE OWNER, MANAGEMENT TEAM, & AMAZING STAFF and Not forgot the CHEF!! lol!!

My family and I vacationed for a few days in Bryan Texas. I recommend the food at Don Chente restaurant, it is delicious, everything is delicious, and the Aguas are fresh too and the service is super fast and the waitresses are very friendly. The whole place is very clean too.

This place is really Mexican for real, no tex mex stuff. I got 2 asada tacos and 2 pastor tacos for like 2.75$ each and 2.45$ each. So far this place had the best street tacos in a restaurant Ive had in college station. Highly recommend coming and the food is decently priced. Although music was a little loud.

Big portions of terrible cheap taste, overpriced, do not recommend. I went there looking to eat a good sopa de mariscos and for $17 Dlls what I got was 3 shrimp , imitation crab and a bunch of carrots and potatoes. The food was terrible, insipid, and honestly a slap in the face to the entire Latino community. The tortillas were flavorless, you could go 5 seconds down the road to HEB and get better any day of the week. The meat in the tacos was abundant, and completely flavorless. We tried asada and al pastor and both left us wishing we hadnt come. The beans and rice were so boring that even the disgusting yellow cheese/tomato/lettuce combo on the side tasted better. The only redeeming part about our experience were the waitresses, because they were very sweet and attentive. But on top of all this, but the food was out eerily fast, which leads me to the conclusion that they just have these plates ready and are being shoved into the microwave and no effort is placed in their part to make any semblance of good food. Please dont eat here until they change something.

Well, to start, the service was terrible, we arrived with some co-workers and we each ordered their food and everything was fine, but when the dishes began to arrive, all of them arrived except mine and I asked for my dish and they told me that it would arrive in 2 minutes, I waited and I waited until about 20 minutes had passed and my companions had already finished eating and my dish never arrived and I told the waitress to cancel the order, thats when she said its out. And well, I said okay and started eating that broth that looked good. Youre not going to believe a flavorless broth is good for me to follow. I just want to add that if they had given it to the dog, Im sure he wouldnt eat it. With this I want to add that I will never return to that mediocre place because of its terrible service and food.

Sigh I really like giving people the benefit of the doubt, especially when people on social media speak very highly of this place, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I had walked in set on the vibe because it was a lot of people in there, so I took it as a fun lively ambiance since they opened and have a lot of people checking them out at the same time as myself. Went in, was waiting for someone to ask if I was picking up, dining in, something, it took the guy that was absent from the front 10 mins to realize after seeing me and people by the door, they re new customers, anyways, food wasn t up to par, spent 40 bucks on two plates (why didn t I just cancel & leave?) & I will always remember that if I m trying something new, to have a open mind regardless of what others say.

First time at Don Chente. I had the carne asada tacos w/ rice & refried beans. The meat was perfect flavor and texture. The rice, delicious and flavorful. The beans are also very good. They provide red and green salsa at the table. Both are flavorful. The green is especially spicy. I recommend it.

Prices sky high. So high, I decided to just order for my kids and wife since my wife didnt want to just get up and walk out after looking at the menu. We love Birria tacos so I ordered 2 plates which do not come with beans, rice, nothing. Just 3 super soggy tacos each. 12 bux per order. My kids ate them, my wife only ate 1 because she wanted me to have one. I couldve lived without this high dollar place and the birria wasnt great, it was mehhh at best. This place is expensive, so get your wallet ready. Thats all I can say about this place.
