Ordered a burger to go. I asked for jalapeños on the burger and was charged for it, but they forgot to add them. People behind the counter were talking about getting their lunch from some other place because they were tired of their own food. But the burger was still delicious.

First time at Margie s today. Got the double meat and double cheese burgers with fries and onion rings. First impression was good, friendly service and clean, albeit very smoky. Water was topped up promptly, and the owners (I think!) were attentive while not being overbearing - we did not feel pestered at all, which is great! We asked for the burgers rare, something new for them, and they were about as rare as possible for a small patty - great job. I found the exterior of the burger lacked texture, it was all a bit mushy, this may be because it s so hard to get the center a medium/medium rare on small burgers. Adding an onion ring to the patty partly corrected the texture, but would work better if it they weren t breaded. Bun was great - didn t break apart, grilled and buttery. Mustard good, onions great, found the pickles too thick and it made a strange pickle to meat ratio in most bites. I think the burgers could be a little more seasoned, but the cheese was really good. There is no point getting anything less than the double, this is a 2oz per patty burger. We were disappointed with the sides. The onion rings are now breaded, not as good as the battered ones shown in most pictures and came a bit burnt - the interior had gone mushy too, and the fries were pretty bland and a bit burnt. We left most of them, which is sad as the fries alone are almost $4 which seems excessive for pretty bad frozen fries. Overall, if the sides are changed and improved, we would return and try the more modern burgers to see how those are too.

This restaurant is a true experience, and we love Friday night karaoke. Its a small venue so you could wait a while for a table on a busy day. Unfortunately, I cant eat the food due to Celiac, but all of my friends Ive gone with rave about their greasy burgers! Dietary restrictions: This restaurant is not celiac safe. Small kitchen with shared griddles and fryer. They do have gluten-free seltzers to enjoy!

Stopped by for the 3rd time today Never disappoints My family and I stopped by last 1st Friday for a last minute dinner It did not disappoint The karaoke with the older crowd was icing on the cake. We listened to the music and reminisced my maw maw and talked about how much she would love this place if she were still here. After our meal , we jumped into a conversation with the owner and another couple about how being a small business owner is hard with the rising prices. I love supporting a good small business When I stopped by tonight, the owner wasn t cooking and not going to lie, I was worried it wouldn t be the same but I was wrong , the kid COOKED IT PERFECTLY and the girl at the register was very sweet. The very first time I stopped by I was worried because I saw reviews that said it s salty let me tell you . People don t know FLAVOR !!!!! Pretty cool little place. Im not a big fan of greasy burgers, hence the 3 stars. I had the half pound burger and fries. Flavor was ok, but the buns were just dripping with grease. If you like Top of the Hill burgers, its sort of like theirs just not quite as good. The fries were ok.

This place defined how I look at family-owned burger joints for the rest of my days going forward. Great staff, great history, great great great burgers and sides. Historical cash register (I know, totally rando right? It s just so cool). As a bit of a chef myself that cooktop is a thing of envy as well. Margie s is a great place, very low key and a little divey but all the BEST places are. Hell, it s come full circle and is trendy now! We moved into town 4 years ago and Margie s is by far my favorite place to go! Every time my little family and I come in we are greeted and treated like family. We have become regulars and our three little boys love going to eat there. It s a great place to take your family, have lunch/dinner with friends or watch a game on their big screen! This place is amazing!! We have been trying a lot of burger places in the area since we moved here .this one is at the top of the list!! The only bad thing to say about this place is the chairs are just awful .if you have back issues you might want to do a call in and pick up. As much as we enjoyed our food .we will not be able to go back in to dine ..I barely could sit in the chair long enough to eat .had to get up and walk around outside while we waited for our order to cook. The food is amazing!! Hope they will get some better chairs so us people with back issues can have chairs with some support !! EDIT TO THIS REVIEW They did get some chairs with cushion bottoms .so that are trying! It was not the bottom of the chairs that are the real prob with us people with back issues ..but the lack of support in those very old chairs. I do so appreciate them working on the prob .but back folks will still want to do a carry out! We will go back for dine in .but only because they do have two bar stools that have some back support .so we pray each time that nobody is on them!!

The other one is in College Station but thats a whole different review so fresh, tasty, and juicy. Margies Bar and Grill was originally established by my grandmother. Before she died she sold out to a couple who then later sold out to their son. He still owns it today. Ive never been there before but I can tell you 49 years was worth the wait. The couple who owns it are friendly as can be and it feels like a family atmosphere anyone would enjoy. I had the suicide Burger and oh my goodness I ate half of it and took the rest of home. It should be an aggieland tradition to eat at least once while youre here going to school. I know Margie, my grandmother is looking down smiling and so proud!!

As a last resort we ended up going here after walking around first Friday, the only place with staying open past 10, with food and we fell in love with those burgers!! Probably the only time Ill say this but definitely try the suicide!! Burger that is!!

Wow what a burger! Never had egg on my burger before this place, the suicide had an amazing pallet of flavor. The service was amazing, serving sizes were on point, and the atmosphere was extremely welcoming and down to earth. All around, my new favorite burger place in College Station!

It s been a long time since I ve been surprised by the portion size of a meal, in a good way, and I was surprised today. I got the suicide burger and not only was it delicious with old school griddle crust and flavor, but I couldn t finish it. It was massive and delicious for a price you can t beat.

Margies is a no-frills grill with a basic menu and delicious iced tea. Theres nothing fancy or terribly unique about anything here, but if simple, small town grill is your thing, Margies will make you happy.
