In this park you can do different types of activities such as walking, running training for various sports since it has a good open field area, riding a bicycle, enjoying the childrens play area and enjoying a picnic with the family on one of its different benches . Needs swings! I dont know what it is with parks in Brownsville and not having swings. But great area for the kids and a nice loop around the park which draws lots of walkers and joggers.

A family park. You can walk/run. Does have exercise equipment. Tables. Restrooms. It does have a resaca, but it needs to be cleaned up. Smell of urine. Maybe more landscaping. Something to go with the resaca.

I arrived early morning around 7:45 and the morning dew was still present. Several people were exercising as well. They added exercise machines around the track/walkway which is a nice feature. I would only suggest adding an explanation sticker to said machines and maybe fixing one which I saw was missing parts so that patrons are able to read and see how to perform an exercise. Otherwise it seemed rather clean.

Originally called Chachalaca Park, this park has a beautiful resaca which has been preserved for shore birds and Neo-tropical migrants. This 11 acre park is Easily accessible from Central Ave. or Clubhouse Rd. /Via Boca Chica Blvd or from Port Isabel Highway. The park also has a 1/4 mi. Jogging track and several shade trees within. It also boasts a playground, a natural habitat berm area for watching birds, a and Picnic tables. The city had planned this Green Zone for many future generations to enjoy and appreciate nature .

Small but great park to take walks or bikes in. The sidewalk goes in a circle so it is very easy to track laps and your distance. The circumference of the park is .35 miles for every loop that you do.

Its a nice little place to take the kids and have them place safely. Has a rock climbing small wall, a swing, a merry go round, and some giant toy musical instruments so that the kids can play around with. Overall great but like many places, you start to see vandalism which make things less attractive.
