Staff Force in Brownsville has a long two part application. The second part required me to come in person with my social security card and asked that I put my bank deposit information into their computer. After all of this, the receptionist told me that at the moment they only had one job post. She said things were very slow. Several times their website has errors not allowing me to log in, saying my password is wrong. Though my passwords are correct, I ve had to change them over several times only to have the same problem arise. Never have I received an apology for the difficulties. Work in Texas told me they think it is odd and not safe that they require my personal bank information before getting me a job.

The Harlingen office is staffed by a girl who is always very friendly and smiling. I arrived stressed looking for work and she made me laugh and I left the office with work. Thanks Darlene.

Im an American citizen and have the right to fill out an application. Saying a social security card is required internally even though my Passport satisfies the I-9 and I can provide my social security number is ludicrous... and illegal. Ive gone ahead and reported them to the DOJ for unfair documentation practices under the Immigration and Nationality Acts (INA) anti-discrimination provision, 8 U.S.C. § 1324b. Ive also made a report with the BBB for what its worth and this review. Aside from all this they had nice candy inside, so I guess thats what the one star is for. [Edit] Per the office gal and manager on site it was for my security that my Passport could only be used for photo identification purposes. It wasnt until I spoke with someone in HR that it became for payroll purposes. I could work legally, they just couldnt pay me. Now I write software and cant imagine anyone, building anything, that would require an *image*, over keystrokes, for THIS... and even more so without a way to override any autogenerated input. You need a number not an image. Requiring a card without any cause (e.g. the one given did not pass checks) is insane... and even then its the one piece of identification that can be easily forged, i.e. its nothing more than a deterrent. Once someones proven who they are and their eligibility, payrolls job isnt to ask questions, its to get whatever was provided submitted. Edit #2- since Im here this is actually legal but completely outrageous.
