I Visited this place for the first time and I wish I hadn t spent my money The food was horrible It s literally like eating boxed frozen food and the cashier was very rude This place should have a Panda Express at its location not a whatever restaurant that s going to give out terrible food It s absurd to even think this place actually gets packed hence the reason why I even gave this place a chance I will never come back and just stick with Panda Express

Okay if you dont have something nice to say dont say nothing at all. But thats not the idea of a review now even though Ive been to China you cant compare food here to there so lets just drop that off the map this is an American Chinese restaurant. But that being said this is probably the worst Chinese food Ive eaten ever. The chef is in love with salt the service was poor had to ask for serviceware had to ask for napkins had to ask to complete the meal. And do they love cabbage its just sad they dont know how to prepare it. It looks like this place has been here a long time and Im sure they have their loyal clientele as a matter of fact one of them sent me here saying how good it was. If you love Chinese food they might serve something good Im sure every place does but I ordered four items and no. The prices are standard about $12 a dish with a few more costing 16 technically speaking not unreasonable but the quality the service the experience amount to pass on this place drive on by

This was my first visit. It was a late ish dinner. There were a few other diners in the restaurant. I didnt see anyone Asian, eating or working, in the restaurant. I am trying to avoid wheat flour, so I rejected the complementary chips. My waiter was pretty attentive. I was happy that they have an extensive combo menu for one, and the prices are very reasonable. The hot and sour soup was okay, maybe not the freshest. The waiter recommended the Tripple Crown, which I had never heard of before. It was well portioned with assorted meats/shrimp/veggies but had way too much sauce, as you can see in the photo. The meats and veggies are swimming in it. The shrimp were especially tasty. The filling of the egg roll was okay, l left the casing to avoid the wheat flour. The fried rice was pretty awful, Id probably choose steamed if I return. Overall, the portions were generous, so there is value for the price. Im guessing the decor dates back to the 80s when they opened and is now dingy/depressing. I think, if they can afford it, a refresh is in order. There was enough staff on hand that if they worked together (instead of playing with their phones) they could have served by hand instead of using the rather unpleasant looking cart. Other reviews suggest Panda Express as an alternative, I highly prefer table service on reusable plates/cutlery over cafeteria style.

The only good thing about this place was the service of the cashier. Interior was old and dingy, had a funny smell. Four Seasons - bland, lacked any seasoning, vegetables overcooked to mush and the meat was coated in a pasty wrinkly flour or starch? Meat super tough. Beef Chow Fung - super greasy, weird beef, very bland, no seasoning. Kung po chicken - guess what? You got it! Weird coated chicken in a very sweet beige sauce with burnt spring onions. No salt and no spice at all! Pretty horrid. Peking duck - as dry as a flip flop on a beach! Duck jerky! Egg rolls & spring rolls - super greasy, soggy, tasteless. BBQ Ribs - tough & tasteless Steamed meat dumplings - thick and gummy, tasteless and dry. Steamed shrimp dumplings - dry, pasty, flavorless, gummy I have eaten a variety of Asian cuisine in my life. Ranging from authentic to westernised. This is by far the WORST oriental meal I have ever had. The person cooking the food has zero palette and needs a new profession! Their cooking skills are outright offensive. How dare you charge people for this. Even if the food was free (which it most certainly was not) we wouldnt eat it. We read the reviews, 4.2 stars it said. LIES! Huge waste of time and money. Actually so disgusted that we cannot even be bothered to call and complain. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! We made a very costly mistake, trust our feedback, go elsewhere.

The cashier has a crappy attitude and the young girls are just talking and making side conversations instead of insuring the orders go through they take long with your orders don t recommend this one. The only person breaking her back and serving is the older lady with black hair she was seen through the whole time going back and forth. Arrived and as I was walking in a server approached me told me to get a table and he would be our server. We sit he takes our drink order then leaves. 5 minutes later another server approaches us and says that the server behind us would take our order. So she gives us our drinks then walks away, while we wait already going on 10 minutes the server that brought our drinks flags the server and tells her to take our order and the server nods her head saying no. This all happened right in front of my table with my family and everyone in the area. Total humiliation and disregard and disrespect to customers who wanted nothing more than to sit down and enjoy a lunch meal with their families. Despite the humiliation my family chose to stay and eat but I refused and I walked out of the restaurant. I ll never come here ever again.

Ordered roast pork eggplant with garlic sauce. Plate is suppose to be spicy. The Chile was in it but twice as much and burnt. Tasted like leftovers mixed with a little bit of fresh ingredients. Roasted pork was good but WAY too much sauce... inedible. Rice was quite dry for fried rice and hot sour soup super thick.... same situation last time and wont be back to the Boca Chica location. This place used to be really great! The food was always good and fresh but lately it feels as if it has gone down hill. Foods cold, taste like its been sitting out for a while, fried noodles are small little crumbs instead of full noodles. They give you plastic cutlery instead of silverware, stale rice and noodles. Lotus Cafe/Peter Yao, are sad to say; rip off artists. Took my dad, who is currently bound to a walker due to health reasons. He wanted chinese food, so to lotus it is. Well we should up 10 minutes before 3, which is the end of lunch specials. When the bill arrived, i was charged regular prices, for the specials of the day that were ordered. When I asked the cashier about maybe an oversite, she went on to say, because we handt made the 3PM lunch deadline. I then responded, maam we were here way before 3PM deadline, which at that point she responded, well the food didnt get to you until after 3PM. At that point i went on to say, that is such a rip off. If youre going to do that, it should be written on your menu, in order not to mislead people. Well, needless to say, last time I go there. Thats a bunch of BULLSH....

Ok it is good. BUT, when your use to the main cook on the other location by expwy Ive eaten there since the origional owners and thier loyal cook mr. Manuel which took over his restaurant it was always EXCELLENT. By saying that well this location was good but the taste that I look for when I order the chicken almond plate still needs some work plus this dish here they add suchini which chicken almond does not have that its just other ingredients. Overall its alright the presintation of the dish was good.but the sauce was quite a bit overempowering the flavor of the dish itself. I couldnt really get the flavor of chicken nor the mushrooms. Fried rice was good and the egg roll was meh! I guess I will go again, give it another try since I already know this isnt the same cook from where I was accustomed to. Maybe this time Ill try a different plate but for sure the Chicken Almond taste didnt do it for me. The service was good even though they are way understaffed plz be patient with them sometimes its only 1 person and the whole restaurant. Staff is getting better in the service. I thought I d give it a try and ask for sushi but it was over cooked and was like mushy mashed potatoes. Overall the food was the worst I ve had in a while. I don t think I ll give it another go.
