Cattail Marsh is a peaceful and beautiful place to visit, perfect for nature lovers. Its a great spot for bird watching, with over 250 bird species to see. There are also plenty of other animals to observe, such as alligators, turtles and nutria rats. The marsh offers a boardwalk that extends into the marsh, providing a closer look at the wildlife. The area is clean and well-maintained, making it a great place to visit for a relaxing day out. Its a wonderful free activity to do especially with the Barnacle Gardens right next to it plus a pretty well maintained park. Overall, Cattail Marsh is a hidden gem in Beaumont, Texas, and definitely worth a visit.

Pretty cool setting. I used Merlin to identify 10 species of birds. Id have walked more trails if I had the time. Oh well, gives me a reason to return.

Great spot for birding and spotting gators or turtles. Jogging or an easy mountain bike ride are good on the gravel road around the water.

Ken Guidry gave us a wonderful, informative tour of the marsh. Very friendly and helpful. I will be back in the fall to see the raptors!

We had a wonderful time at Cattail Marsh. We went into the building and learned so much about all of the birds from Ken Guidry. He offered us a tour of the marsh which was a wonderful time. Ken knows so much about the Marsh and pointed out all of the birds. I highly recommend visiting Cattail Marsh!!!

Lots of wildlife here! Bring plenty of water and sunscreen as the trails are exposed. Id also recommend closed toe shoes due to the gravel on the trails and the chance for alligators and venomous snakes.

I love going to yoga here! It s so relaxing and rejuvenating. The Saturday morning classes hosted by the City of Beaumont are free to all! The best way to start off my weekend. Afterwards, you can take a walk with your dog around the park and probably see some alligators.

We really enjoyed going to this place as a family because you can get up-close-and-personal with the Gators if you want to. You can also stay quite a distance away from them if you just stay on the dirt roads. There are lots and lots of different routes you can take and you can ride your bike or walk

We visited at the wrong time of day to see the most wildlife. We did get to see a small gator and a few birds tho. We are going to try to go back closer to sunset when the birds really come in droves, at least thats what a birder we met on our way out told us.

Cattail Marsh is one of my favorite habitats in our area. There are always indigenous birds but during winter they have tons of migratory birds. However, its always a beautiful place to visit. Alligators are always around. But there is not much shade so if you are sensitive to sun, bring an umbrella or hat. Great area for exercising in natural setting!

Neat place that serves the local community and wildlife population simultaneously. It is also part of a much larger park that includes frisbee golf, botanical gardens, and a golf course

I love to take a birding stroll through this artificial marsh. -- It always has a something different than the last time. There is a lot of variety in the birds. And the alligators are always and exciting find. The boardwalk is a great addition with covered rotundas -- a welcome respite from the summer suns. But I think I get some of my best shots when I breakaway from the front entrance and head around on the marsh trails. This is a real treat for birders. I am going to breakdown and get a bicycle rack for my car so can seen more of this gigantic nature experience.

This is one of the greatest places of South East Texas. You can check for many species of birds and even you can do a trail and with some luck see an alligator... Very special place for nature and outdoor lovers..
