Honestly not a bad restaurant. Had the street taco combo. Authentic tacos and a surprisingly good beans. Not a fan of the potato - seems like it was microwaved - if they substituted if for rice it would be 5 star across the board.

I dont leave reviews, this place was worth the exception. Seriously great tamales and friendly staff. Came here repeatedly while waiting for power to be restored in our home in Houston after hurricane Beryl. My only complaint is they werent open the Monday we left.

Stopped by to get some traditional pork tamales. Honestly, usually tamales are tamales to me. But both the sauces and the tamales themselves were notably good. The employees were really nice too. Highly recommend them for all around great tamales!

Tamales are actually good, maybe they are more hospitable if you sit down to eat but I got a couple of tamales to go to try them and they act like its a inconvenience to ring you up. Green salsa is good tho

So the reasone for the 3 stars is the portion size of the rice was small rice is fairly cheap and usually served in abundance and the reason Im complaining is because the rice was perfect! I would have loved more of it although at same time I feel the 18 dollars I paid for four beef tamales with rice and beans with a drink was fair for todays economy they can still afford to go heavy on the rice

I paid$14 for a small portion of food and I m not happy about it. I could have gone to Taco Bell down the street, Casal Ole or a Mexican buffet in port Arthur and paid the same amount of money and gotten full. Their beans and rice is good. Their Asada tacos ate bland and they don t have avocado sauce which every Mexican food place has. I won t go here again and thru are down the street from my house. That s just too much money for food that died t taste great. It s just okay. I can see why the two times I went in there there was no one there.

My husband and I stopped by for breakfast burritos, and they were so good! The tamales here are fantastic and Ive ordered them for parties before but we had never eaten breakfast here. They have plate dinners, lunches, and a really great breakfast. Please give them some love because I think people forget theyre located here. It would be a shame to lose this family business!

I had been craving tamales all day and got these last minute. Great service and even better food! The cheese jalapeño were my favorite although the chicken were a close second! Their green salsa is spot on! Will definitely be back, thank you!

The lady who took care of me, definitely was very sweet and very kind but the food no. Not worth it. For it being Barbacoa, dry like the grass out here and on top of that Disappointing to be even considered Mexican food. Just no. The tamales were alright but too damn small. A piece of cheese and 1 jalapeño rolled like a taquito. Screw that. Wasn t worth my $15.

Walked in and was instantly greeted by a smiling face. The food was really good and the portions were more than enough. The green and red sauces were delicious and added a little extra kick to my tamales. Also, from what I could see, the restaurant was very clean. Overall a great experience!

Real delicious authentic Mexican food! The tamales are sooo good! The taco meal is fantastic! 4 mini tacos on corn tortillas , baked potato and love the beans! The spicy sauce is just perfect !!! You have to try this place for a quick lunch! Yum!

Tamales were about double the size when they opened 3 years ago.... Still fantastic, friendly and fast service. Great food but Im disappointed in the small tamales. I have been wanting to try Mariselas since it opened. It is very clean and the service is outstanding. It might sound funny but to me the quality of the beans and rice speaks to the quality of the restaurant and here both are excellent. As far as the tamales, Ill keep it simple. They are the best I have ever had.

Service was good, did not have to wait long. Was almost $20 for a dozen tamales so definitely not the cheapest place to eat. The price wouldnt have bothered me because a good tamale is worth it, but these arent them. The pork and beef tamales I got were bland, definitely expected some spice at least.

I am SO happy I finally tried the food here. For $20 we got an amazing meal that included a dozen and a half tamales, rice and beans, 2 drinks, chips and 2 types of salsa. I actually dreamed of eating the leftovers for breakfast! Not to mention how friendly the man in the front was. I cant wait to go back.

Ive been here several times and the tamales are delicious. Had an unfortunate experience last week when I brought a guest and raves to him about the tamales ahead of time. Arrived at 12:45 pm and was told that the meat tamales wouldnt be ready for another hour? I know I saw a sign for help wanted so I assume they were just short handed and got a late start that day, but it was an unfortunate day for my friend.

We were vacationing in Lake Charles and did a day trip to Beaumont. I asked several people at the Harley Davidson Dealership where they would go for the best tamales and Mariselas was mentioned more than a few times. The location was easy to find. Staff friendly and helpful. We purchased 2 dozen pork and they were AMAZING!! I wish they had a location in Huntsville, Alabama. We will definitely be back next time were in town.

Went by a little over a month ago. Clean place staff was very friendly and helpful. They also asked my opinion about what could be done to improve the food, I told them what I thought. Overall they are good depending on what you like. That day I bought beef and chicken, wanted pork but it was out. Beef very good will buy again. FYI I was allowed to sample other options and Ill admit they werent bad....so go check it out, planning on the pork today.

This place is small but the flavors are large! Great tamales! The major downside is that the size of their tamales for the price is not good, they pretty small as can be seen in image. The restaurant is casual and great for small family or friends. The restaurant is small so seating is very limited, takeout is probably best here for more than a couple people per table.

This is a brand new tamale business. Tamales being one of my favorite foods, I had to try them out. The place is super clean and smelled amazing when I walked in. The masa is probably some of the best I have ever eaten. It is well-seasoned and creamy. I purchased both Cream Cheese w/Jalapeño and Chicken tamales. The Cream Cheese tamales were really good and not too hot. I am not a fan of the Chicken. They werent bad, but had an undertone of seafood and tasted nothing like chicken. No seafood is served here so I think it is just a seasoning issue for me. PSA....their sauces are HOT! They also sell out of tamales very quickly because they are all made fresh. The young lady who waited on me was friendly and engaging. I will be back another day to try one of the many other options. They also serve breakfast.
