About the Company

rating: 4.7

The Art League of Baytown was organized in 1954 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1963. In 2008 the Art League obtained a permanent home - the Art Center of Baytown, located in the historic F. W. Woolworth Building, on Texas Avenue. The Art Center is a gallery for members to display/sell their artwork, as well as holding classes and workshops; hosting local, national, and international art exhibitions and competitions; and offers a summer youth art camp; a Holiday Gift Gallery; and much more. The Art League of Baytown's mission is to promote the fine arts of painting, sculpting, photography, ceramics, and other fine art crafts and to create fellowship among practicing artists. As well as, making art accessible to all of our community.

This is a really cool art installation! Anyone that lives near or passing through should stop by and check it out! Ive been wanting to stop here for awhile and passed it up directly twice but we never stopped and took the time. I found out we were going to be in Baytown for a few days so I put it on my list of things to do. I wasnt disappointed. We enjoyed looking at each of the artwork murals and then just the space itself. It was fun space to take photos too. I think it would make a great place to visit with kids. I wish I had had my grandbaby with me so he could run around under the umbrellas. I didnt stop at it but there is an icecream shop nearby if you do decide to bring kids. I feel like the area could benefit with more Garbage cans in sidewalk areas I noticed people putting trash in random places without a can to easily get to without walking across the street. This area of Baytown feels liked it could be (potentially) become similar to Galveston or Grapevine in Dallas. It has a real community feel about it. I hope that happens because its great when local shops and artists come together in one communal space. Id love it if they had more shops and restaurants. The Fountain was cool to see while we were there . The art league of Baytown is there sadly it was closed when we went but it looks like a cool place too. All in all Id recommend the place to anyone who likes art.

I was in Baytown to model at Lee College Life Drawing class, looking for a place to eat, when I spied the back door of AL Baytown. I went in and was just as welcomed as a neighbor who might stop by. They have ongoing classes and some are with great teachers, professionals, that I have worked with. They said a good place to eat was Roosters, up a block over the track. They said right. Art League of Baytown is in and a vital part of the arts in Baytown.

I love the art from local artists. There are special exhibits throughout the year so you can visit often and it doesnt get stale. They do so much for the community like the childrens art, scholarships, and adult special needs class. I first learned about the Art League from the Friday open painting. You can work on your art, have coffee and visit with other artists.
