I haven t been to Luby s in awhile. We stopped at Luby s for dinner after my work meeting. My recent visit was excellent. I dropped my tray of food accidentally when I got to the checkout counter. The cashier named Amy want above and beyond with her hospitality skills, and got someone to help clean up the tray and she got me new green beans. Also George one of the staff helped picked up the tray and the food. This is great customer service and support. I m definitely coming back.

Ordered chicken tenders with new potatoes Luann and vegetable soup. Arrived at the hospital with food for my mom they did not send any soup and substituted the chicken tenders for chicken legs and mashed potatoes instead of new potatoes. When I called the said they didn t have tenders or new potatoes. That would have been good to know at the time the order was placed.

So sad, I used to rely on Lubys for good wholesome cooking but this dinner was just sad. My chicken-fried steak was like a breaded shoe sole. The gravy was too salty to eat. The liver and onions was very tough with no gravy. The best thing in the meal were the 2 pieces of Mexican cornbread which were delicious and reminded me of the days when we ate there in the past as a family. They used to have a breaded cutlet that was so good. I will not be back. I will say that we had chocolate and lemon pie and both were good. But not enough to raise the one star rating that I gave the food. What a disappointment!

Same with the chicken fried chicken, as a traveler i love stopping at lubys Ive never never had such dried out food at lubys before. I am beyond disappointed & borderline grossed out... This Lubys does a great Job on their food, always being fresh However; they tend to only serve one potato side here, mash potatoes. I come from downtown Houston where I have lived since 2007 before moving to Baytown a few months ago. I have called almost every day and asked them what potato sides they are having, on that particular day. Unfortunately the the answer is almost the same except for 3 of the days out of the past 4 months. Mash Potatoes. IMO, it s unfortunate, bcz they often make some of the best potatoes related sides, like Bourbon Potatoes, German Fried Potatoes & one of my favs, New Potatoes. Just be prepared if dining here, if you are use up other area of Texas where there is plenty of variety served up in the way of there potato selections, this might be one of the locations you may want I to skip? Lubys is the place for vegetable soup. However with a ghetto staff that doesnt even know the name of salad dressings. Staff standing over a food line serving food holding their eyes with a wet paper towel one staff member came out of the restroom with gloves on a went right back into the kitchen where the food was being cooked. If you go there early (5pm-630pm) food quality ad service is amazing. Youre taking your chances anytime after that. As they run out of options the later in dinner service they get. The rolls are hard at the bottom later in the evening, the entrees becomes less and less plentiful, and the sides as well. Get there early and get the best food they have. Nice, fresh, and delicious. Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian/vegan options around for that type of eater. Dietary restrictions: If you have any, tell the service staff and they will be more than happy to help you with your needs Parking: No worries about parking Wheelchair accessibility: Many many spots by front door for handicap parking

This Lubys is always particularly good! The food is always fresh and tastes great. A lot of people dont realize that everything on the menu is cooked from scratch! Not many places can say that. Wheres the good food Lubys was known for? The quality of the food is terrible and not the same like it used to be. I visited it today and their isnt a variety of vegetables. The corn was very dark. We ordered our Thanksgiving meal from Lubys and it went perfectly. We arrived at their carry out order part of the restaurant. The staff greeted us and confirmed everything ordered was in the box. They have a brilliant box design for transporting this size of a meal. Thanks to the great customer service we had our order and were on our way in no time.

We were visiting a family member at the hospital, so we walked across the street to Lubys for lunch. Its been a while since Ive visited any of these, but I knew they would have a large selection to choose from. I had the turkey leg with gravy, and Sherry Ann had the salmon. I also had some fried chicken, and I know thats a lot of food, but I was pretty hungry. I got the beans and cabbage as my sides, along with a jalapeno corn bread muffin and a pistachio pudding. The chicken was by far the best thing. Im so glad I decided to go big and add this to my meal. The turkey leg was a bit cold, and Im sure they would have warmed it up for me, but I was too hungry to care. I ate everything I had ordered. Sherry said her salmon was dry and ate half of it, I ate the rest and it was a bit overcooked but thats only because when I cook this at home I cook it to medium, or medium well. If it was on a salad or with sauce, it would have been fine. I know that this kind of place is trying to make sure that all the food is cooked completely through, so its not a surprise to me. I thought all the food was great, the service was spot on, and I would go back to this location again. The choices all looked great from the line, I could have gone so many different ways with my food choices, and thats why I decided to leave a review. That fried chicken though, was great, and Im a fan of good fried chicken. Kid-friendliness: Lots of choices to choose from. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of handicap parking and accessibility.

The liver and onions is on of my favorite from lubys. I went today and ordered the largest you could get. They have the a very small portion. I asked for gravy. They gave me very little. The liver taste like they fried it in sugar. When I went to check out the cashier threw my receipt on the floor when I asked for it. I had to pick it up myself and I was already in severe pain. QUALITY: ingredients, cooking, quantity service, price (leftovers to carry home). I had fish topped with shivered almond breading, warm, not piping hot, but a nice steak thickness, along with cooked cabbage, pickled beets, peach cobbler. There was four of us eating there and one of us got the baked chicken, it was so cold it was crazy. The flavor was good but no heat on the meat whatsoever. We came here to get a hot meal and then they tell us after waiting for 7 minutes in line when we get to order the food the server gives us what we want then said the food is all cold the server table warmer is not working so we need to microwave the food to warm up the food which we had to wait for the food..then wait another 5 minutes to get Smh he also said the manager is calling someone to get the Warmers fixed. I was very disappointed. The other server apologized. But what get me why they continue to serve food and not telling customers as they walk in the door. The people working on the serving line were very friendly, and they quickly prepared my dish. They greeted me when I entered the line. The cashier was friendly. I felt very comfortable in ths clean, inviting restaurant. My only problem was the dining room server. The restaurant was sparsely populated (post lunch). She greeted everyone... but me. She refreshed their glasses and tended to their needs. She passed me several times - never stopped. Ive been in this restaurant before and had her as a server. Shes usually attentive to everyone. I dont know what I could have done to make her react to me this way. But, although I felt slighted... I still left a tip, and despite my experience with one person, I will return because the food is tasty and reasonably priced

For cafeteria food it was unexpectedly seasoned very well. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely be back.

My husband works there and while I was pregnant I used to come and sit at one of the tables in the bag minding my own business enjoying talking to some of the coworkers that he works with well apparently that was just not good enough for the district manager because she basically Banned Me from coming back all because of the fact that I wasnt buying any food while I was sitting down and waiting for my husband to get off work this is when I was still pregnant

Hands down the best Lubys around! The Manager Sammy knows what she is doing and you can tell she would be a great person to work for!! And the worker Chris Flowers always has the best personality! I always feel at home when Im at this Lubys!
