We had an amazing dinner here celebrating my husband s birthday. The service was above and beyond, our waiter, despite being pretty young was VERY knowledgeable about the wine selection which is a huge plus for us and hard to find in Austin it seems. The portions were huge, way bigger than I was expecting and everything was very tasty including the dessert. Another waiter who dropped off our food even took an awesome photo of us. We will definitely be returning for special occasions in the future and this is now my new favorite steakhouse!

We drove in from Houston to celebrate my birthday weekend, and dinner at Jeffreys was definitely a highlight! Josh G hands down made this our best experience at Jeffreys. Weve come quite a few times since moving to TX 4 years ago, but his attentiveness, menu and wine knowledge, and overall amazing hospitality made this experience over the top. We loved the new take on the duck breast and the addition of the Niman Ranch dry-aged ribeyes. We are looking forward to booking a private event here in the near future!

Due to travel and family commitments, my husband and I had to celebrate my birthday a month late. Jeffreys put us up at their most private and comfortable table, and it really made all of the difference. Our server was quick to accommodate my husbands dairy allergy. The filet was the absolute best Ive ever had. Thank you for an amazing dinner. Ive already booked our next visit.

I heard this place had good food and wanted to give it a try, not knowing what to expect. The restaurant was dimly lit and has the right amount of lighting over each table to enjoy a sexy date night. The food was incredible. The wagyu ribeye was the best steak I ve ever eaten. Crispy on the outside with a soft bite, perfectly cooked and paired well with the bernaise, and mashed potatoes on the side. The burger, and bucatini were on the Monday discounted item portion of the menu. The burger was delicious, the fries, and bucatini just ok in my opinion. The duck had 6 thick medallion cuts that were perfectly cooked tender bites that was also so delicious. Our server Damien described each dish perfectly and was serving us at the perfect moments, balancing not wondering where he went and not being up in our grill. Shout out to him. Overall whatever you get here I m sure you will love, just make a reservation first.

I m a cheapskate. I use every coupon HEB has got. But I will be back here for a steak, escargot, popover and crème brûlée. Everything I had was underpriced for the taste. Delightful evening, free strawberry opera cake on the house & it was our favorite desert. Colorado lamb chops were a burst of flavor in every bite, even the fat was succulent. Perfectly seasoned. The wood fire grill was noticeable in the wagyu tenderloin and lambchops. Waiter: one was so zesty he looked like the Weeknd, elegantly and attentively informed upon the menu and poured water. Such a zesty fellow. The other was an istj who IDd me . Lol very great though P.S. this restaurant has tons of GILFS. Very Spooky bathroom with satanic hand towels.

Food is great, service was ok. We came for our anniversary and a couple of not so good things stood out. First, we only had a card that said Happy Anniversary, but the table next to us also had their names written on the card. That was a nice personal touch. Second, other than the generic card that is probably reused, nothing special was done. Not expecting free dessert or anything but maybe writing something on the plate or having a sparkler would have been a nice touch. It also seemed like we were sitting on anniversary row at the packed tables in the bar area, along with everyone else celebrating. For spending $400 between 2 people for a 20 year anniversary it was underwhelming. The food was definitely the star and our server didn t check on us enough. The person filling the water was on point! Not sure if we ll be coming back anytime soon.

So. F-ing. Good. I know a lot of people dont read 5-star reviews, but this is one of the few places to actually deserve it. Water No aftertaste, clear, clean, cold. Good. Appetizers: Ham & Gruyere Croquettes Warm balls of fried potatoes and cheese with a nice crunch. Complemented by a dill garnish and a little dab of spicy sauce. Amazing. Truffle Deviled Eggs Not a big fan of deviled eggs but the truffle is heavenly and the eggs are decent. Entree: 8 oz Filet Mignon (cheapest one) I got the garlic confit and rosemary butter as the topping sauce (there are more options including but not limited to: chimichurri, steak sauce, and bearnaise). I chose medium-rare for cooking temp. Lemme tell you: that steak IS. TO. DIE. FOR. Its the first time Ive ever actually had meat MELT IN MY MOUTH and the garlic/rosemary butter melted into it with its warmth. Dont get this steak if you dont want everything else be GARBAGE in comparison! Sides: Oak Roasted Broccolini Amazing oaky flavor with some nice spice from the chili flakes. Crisp and crunchy and paired perfectly with the garlic cloves. Vegans and vegetarians rejoice; the steakhouse has great veg. Yukon Gold Pommes Puree Creamy, smooth, flavorful. Buttery soft. Mashed potatoes minus the chunks. Love it, get it. Dessert: Chocolate Souffle One warning; the waiters will tell you it takes 10-20 minutes to prepare. Thats time WELL WAITED. Steaming hot when it comes out. Steaming hot when its in my mouth. Pillowy, soft, and served with cherry ice cream. Baked Alaska Little ball of banana/salted caramel ice cream coated in sponge cake coated in meringue. They pour flaming rum on it. Banana isnt my favorite flavor but man its still delicious. Check: They bring out little candies with the check. The night I went, it was a Pina colada chocolate and orange-prickly pear jellies. Nice little touch to bring with the only bad news that comes with this restaurant. Bad News (cons): Expensive. For 3 people (2 of us sharing) it was 300$ including some alcohol and another entree not listed here. Meals could get in the thousands if you get the more expensive cuts of meat (100-200)(the one I got was 65 dollars) and/or any caviar (200-700). So save this place for special occasions. What are you doing still reading this review? Go make reservations! Vegetarian options: No options clearly demarcated so use your brain. This is a steakhouse, not a greenhouse after all. There is some amazing oak-roasted broccolini though. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free stuff available. Non-nut, non-shellfish options exist. Parking: Free valet in front of the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: If your kid likes steak and potatoes you could probably make it work. It isnt too froofy (aka creative) so a more adventurous kid could definitely eat here. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a curb to get out of the right hand side of a car for the valet, but there is a ramp on the corner.

We came to Jeffrey s to celebrate my son s graduation. Initially when I tried getting a reservation about a month in advance, they were fully booked for the day but added us to a waiting list and a couple of weeks later, they called to offer us the reservation which we gladly accepted The service was impecable and attentive without being intrusive - shoutout to Harold and the rest of the wait staff for helping make our night special The food was simply amazing, we are still thinking about a couple of the dishes we had a few days later. The Caesar salad is superb as is the fish en papillote The baked Alaska was a huge hit but the chocolate soufflé was the low point of the night. It was not bad by any means, simply unremarkable Parking is the biggest downfall although they do offer valet parking and I believe there s a limited parking lot near by This is a try gem of a restaurant perfect for celebrating those special milestones in life

Fantastic wine list but very limited offerings if you re the only one drinking wine and you don t want to drink a whole bottle yourself. Wife s filet was adequate. I recently dined at Jeffries and had a great experience. The food was nothing short of amazing. From the appetizers to the main course, every bite was a flavorful journey. The atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. However, while the service started off strong, I was slightly disappointed when they didnt inform us about the extended wait times for our dishes. After about 30 to 40 minutes between courses, it would have been appreciated to receive a heads-up, allowing us to plan accordingly. In conclusion, Jeffries offers an exceptional culinary experience with its delicious food and inviting ambiance. With a bit more attention to communication regarding wait times, it would undoubtedly be a five-star dining destination.

We walked in late and without our service dog. But if we had our service dog, it would have had a vest on. When we were greeted, I sensed an attitude immediately in both the hostess and the bartender, who also came to meet us. It was a good attitude - a charming vibe. It was subtle, but it was real. Then, I can t believe what happened. There were no available seats at the bar! We were so disappointed. But then, the hostess called over to Josephine House and secured us seats there and then the conflict occurred. The bartender had concurrently searched for an open table in the bar area and secured us one! We were quite stressed by their attempts to make us happy. But finally we decided to stay, feeling so welcome! And then, the drama of the night, after having read a fresh negative review on this app . Olivia was there to wait on us! We wondered if we were about to drop a 2-star on this place. But instead, we had an amazing, warm and inviting experience last night led by Olivia and team! Her tone, her facial expressions, and her attitude (it was subtle but still very obvious to me) were so unwelcoming and unpleasant I would never go back there again unless she leaves. I dont think it was bc we had a service dog without a service dog vest (they tried to move us to the Josephines - dont bring your dog unless you put a service dog vest on it). Her tone was so disrespecful even over the phone. (Go ahead and try to call them now - if they sound polite i bet its not olivia) I knew immediately when I arrived there that it was her who answered the phone. Porterhouse - slightly better than mediocre, crispy brussels sprouts (didnt take a photo) was very good, lobster bisque - mediocre

Staff at host stand was the only reason I docked a star. They were unaccommodating and slightly rude. Our server Joe made our experience a truly once in a lifetime meal. We celebrated our marriage dinner here tonight, and from the moment we sat down we were treated like royalty. The (trying to remember the exact name of it...) English Black Tea cocktail was extraordinary. A champagne congratulations toast, incredible appetizers, and we opted for the ultra rare $200 steak because their was only one left. Every dollar was well spent, and we arent rich by any means -- this was intended to be a memorable evening. A gifted dessert cemented everything for me, and I cant wait to return and spoil my mom here next. It felt incredible to give a well earned hefty tip to Joe, who truly went out of his way to ensure our happiness. I look forward to returning and trying all new things.

Magical, superior, and executed beautifully, this restaurant could not improve if it wanted to. Every single thing was amazing. Popover bread, escargot on puff pastry, crab donuts, and the absolute standout of the appetizers... black truffle deviled eggs. The deviled eggs are the actual best I have ever had and they feature a slice of actual truffle, this is no exaggeration, unless you hate truffles or eggs (but maybe even if you do), do not miss these . Expertly prepared steak, the sole was wonderful as well. The steak fries are not what youd expect and not my favorite but were a fun presentation and a unique take on a classic. Great cocktails, excellent service. This is a must visit in Austin if you can manage to get a reservation.

Like most things in Austin, this place is overhyped and underwhelming. I have never seen a restaurant claiming to be fine dining serve popcorn. Are you trying to imitate TFL, or are you trying to be the neighborhood sports bar? How about serving a course of bread and butter instead of popcorn? I was also seated directly under an AC vent. I froze ro death in the 2.5 hrs I spent there. I requested my server 4 times to adjust the AC; but nothing happened. At the end, he offered a blanket. We just came out of a deep freeze in Austin and the AC was blowing like it s July. Things that were good: soufflé Things that were just OK: steak, deviled eggs Things that were horrible: lobster bisque with way overcooked chewy lobsters and extremely salty broth. Almost inedible. Don t try to be a fine dining establishment. You re not. No dish had the wow factor.

Jeffreys in ATX delivers an exceptional fine dining experience, perfect for hosting parents or any special occasion. The truffle deviled eggs set the stage with a sophisticated twist, and the seared scallops showcased a masterful balance of flavors. The bone-in ribeye, dry-aged for an impressive 32 days, was a carnivores dream, perfectly complemented by seared mushrooms. Throughout our evening, Jeffreys attentive staff provided impeccable service and spot-on recommendations, elevating our dining experience. In summary, Jeffreys Restaurant is a culinary gem in ATX, offering exquisite dishes, a refined ambiance, and top-notch service. Whether for a special occasion or a memorable meal, Jeffreys consistently delivers an outstanding dining experience. We eagerly anticipate returning to savor more of the exceptional offerings at this esteemed establishment. As a weight-loss and aesthetic surgeon in the area, I appreciate the healthy food options that align with my profession & lifestyle.

I finally got around to trying this place out after 3 decades in Austin and I could kick myself for not trying it sooner. It was a birthday dinner (mine) and they did not disappoint in the least. I had the persimmon fennel salad, NY strip, mushrooms and broccolini - all phenomenal. Service was supreme and rather pleasant to look at. Atmosphere was just right- good soundtrack at a good volume, and the lighting was perfect and not a falling hazard like at so many other local steakhouses. (My only criticism was that the soap dispenser was broken in restroom #1.) If you have guests from out of town you want to impress, definitely consider Jeffreys.

Showed up without a reservation due to a schedule change, and was seated immediately. The hostess couldn t have been nicer and more professional. The wine and tequila list is very extensive and has great choices. The waitress was awesome and the sommelier stopped by twice to chat. Love the atmosphere and my steak was perfect. Minor criticisms: my steak was perfect because I asked for it to be made without butter- they drench their steaks in butter unless you ask them for it dairy free- let the delicious meat speak for itself. Their bread Is loaded with butter. Brussel Sprouts came out drenched in some syrupy concoction- once again, crispy brussel sprouts don t need heavy toppings. All in all, great spot!

Very well-maintained restaurant and very popular. We chose the earliest seating and still the place was packed. I ordered the beef tartare and the carpaccio and I would estimate both amounted to about 30 calories. My main course was the halibut, which had a nice sauce, but by the end of the meal I was panicking that I hadnt eaten enough to have strength to leave the place. Interestingly the waiter asked if we wanted a side (which I should have accepted). Luckily a nice young lady offered the souffle which powered me through. If you want a substantial meal, get one of the steaks and a side. I thank them for introducing me to haute cuisine, but next time maybe County Line. lol.

Unfortunately, we were not happy with the steaks and a little unhappy with the level of service. This is a very high end restaurant and for the prices they charge. We don t mind paying top dollar but the two steaks were not worth what they are charging. Think about that before you book your reservation. Parking: We Uber end in so no issues. Looked to be valet parking.

Jeffrey s is a solid high end steak house. I would recommend it if someone asked what s a great steakhouse in Austin. But, is it the best?? Top 5 for sure So the good. If you come for happy hour their burger is the best. I don t say that lightly because it s hard to designate the best burger in town because everyone has their favorites. But for me every time I get it here I m in heaven. Soft flavorful bun, tender beef patty perfectly cooked and seasoned topped with bacon and all the trimmings. Steak fries stacked nearly with a crispy outer crunch and a soft middle. It is a symphony with everything put together in perfection. Even my friends who rolled their eyes at me at first said it s a damn fine burger. Do yourself a favor and try it at least once. Let s talk steak, we got the tomahawk because why not. It was well seasoned cooked to perfection (medium rare). And their sauces are great. I vouch for the chimichurri or house sauce. Now this is where it gets dicey. I don t think it s better than say a steak at capital grille or any other place. I say it s solid but not mind blowing. Drinks. The waiter recommended great cocktails and a bottle of wine. Overall their wine selection is diverse and their cocktails made well. The only trouble we had was we ordered sequential dirty martinis and the secondary one was barely dirtied. They quickly rectified it and got us another. Just saying your drinks may vary on who is making the drinks. Service was spectacular. He was knowledgeable and very attentive and was friendly. No complaints and all praises. Overall coming away we ended up spending $250 a person including appetizer, wine, cocktails, steak, sides, BURGER!, and dessert.

My wife and I enjoyed our Anniversary Dinner at Jeffreys. The Valet was a nice touch when we pulled up, the food was thoroughly enjoyable. The ambience was nice, the service sharp & informative and generally the staff were very pleasant. My only complaint was during Checkin, the Hostess (tall, auburn hair) appeared to have a negative attitude. We arrived, gave our name to barley a response or eye contact. I tried to make some conversation about whether it was busy or not due to the labor day weekend to which she responded to my wife and I (barely looking up) that maybe wed be more comfortable waiting in the hall way... this struck us both as condescending, dismissive and rude and seemed very much like she was just trying to get us away from her rather than something to help us...quite passive aggressive and generally came across very snobby! The lady that showed us to our seat tried to make light of the situation and was kind but that that initial interaction with the hostess gave us a bad initial impression. Luckily other than this the whole evening was very nice indeed. I think management should have a word with the Hostess though.

Amazing food, service, and ambiance. Food was delicious. They started us off with freshly baked popovers which were fluffy and buttery. The deviled eggs were creamy. The broccolini was nicely roasted with garlic. We shared the 26oz dry aged ribeye which was the best ribeye Ive ever had. We closed with the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Service was top notch. Plates were cleared within moments of finishing without feeling like staff was lingering. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food and drink recommendations were great. Drinks were very good. I was very partial to the Jeffreys Sour. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the Beekeeper. Parking: Parked on a nearby residential street. There werent many spots available, could have easily had to drive around a bit to find a spot but we got lucky. We noticed the establishment had valet service as we left.

Idk why some reviews are so harsh on the place, i had a great time here. I do think the prices are a bit outrageous but after coming from high end restaurants in New York, it didn t seem AS bad. The hamachi crudo was very good, the palm seemed a bit out of place with the plating and on the palate though. I got the duck as my entree and highly recommended. I dont eat pork so the chef took special care to make sure i had just as delicious of a meal without the bacon lentils. The fries needed more salt, as did the popovers, but the ricotta spread kinda saved it. My boyfriend got the ribeye with garlic rosemary and chimmichuri and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, melted in your mouth, lots of flavor. They gave us a complimentary birthday ice cream cake as dessert, i think the ice cream was made with creme fraiche, it was pretty good. They also gave some complimentary candies and mini tarts to end everything off, decent but not necessary. Overall it was good and I would go back. I will say I think the service could ve been a bit better, my water went a bit without being filled, it took a while to get us bread, our waiter just seemed unenthused to serve us but it could be how they are and not personal.

Tons of truffle flavor but still well-balanced with everything else. The Caesar salad was on point. It had an interesting, crunchy texture to it. The shortrib was superb. No knife was necessary and it was delicious. The brussel sprouts were very nice, with some lemony/sweet backend flavors. The bar is also great here. When it comes to reviews I generally adhere to the concept of if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything at all. Im not trying to hurt anyones business. But I also feel like folks should know what they are getting into when they go to spend a lot of money on a meal. I want to start off by saying Im not mad at this place, we didnt have a bad time, no one was mean or rude to us. But man I have to be honest - describing the food as mediocre is being nice. If youve ever been to a high end steak house, theres no way youre walking out of here feeling satisfied. From the appetizers to the sides, everything is just so shockingly basic and unspecial. If it was half the price maybe they could get away with it without complaints. But at their price points I think its reasonable to expect exceptional food and our meal wasnt just not exceptional it was bland, boring, and below average. But then there was the steak. This is why Im writing this review. We ordered a $150 dollar WAGYU ribeye. Im not a professional steak afficiando, but Ive been to dozens if not over a hundred high end steak houses all over the United States and this steak was just terrible. We ate 2 pieces out of about 8-10 pieces and couldnt eat anymore. Wagyu is supposed to be tender, melt in your mouth beautiful, and this was tough, chewy and just bad. I had read other reviews with similar experiences and chalked it up to people being pretentious about their steak, but the joke ended up being on me because they were 100% right. Its not that the steak was just not to my liking, it was down right terrible - to a shocking degree. Just bad. Bottom line, this is a decent looking place and the staff was nice and I could see a person enjoying a meal here if youre not picky and havent been to a real steak house before. But personally I would light $400 on fire and eat a microwaved gas station tuna salad sandwich for dinner before I ate a meal at Jeffreys again.
