I was so excited to try this place and was so let down. I saw the sign outside said special 4 today was sandwich & soup. I ordered that took an hour for the special. I had to change it Togo because I spent my whole lunch break waiting I had to go back to work. Then it took even longer so I asked for a refund so I could just leave and was told it was being boxed up. I get the food , get to my car to find no soup! I go back in and they say I have to pay extra is not included in the special. After showing the sign they didnt care and had no care to fix the situation. Ill never go back nor will I recommend this place. Ill take my $17 for a lunch special sandwich somewhere else lol

Was very excited to try Pizza Night for the first time only to be let down. It took 45 minutes to get our 2 appetizers and over an hour to get our 2 pizzas. Couldn t believe the kitchen would send pizza out looking like that! The whole crust was completely burnt and cracking. All around about 2 inches of black burnt crust before cheese and toppings began. Upon entering the restaurant pizza looked good. Definitely not what we got! After seeing what we were served in comparison to the pizza downstairs we know we missed out on some good tasting pizza. Shame the kitchen & server didn t give us the chance to experience the Huvar Pizza at it s best.

The Breakfast Sammie was very Good. Eggs were perfectly cooked. The Avocado Toast was Very Disappointing. I expected sliced avocados on toast but it was a smear of not so fresh guacamole. My poached eggs were more like a boiled, hash browns looked like a frozen waffle patty that had been fried. Coffee was ok. Service was mediocre. Staff seemed more interested in having fun with each other and very loud. I don t mind paying for good fresh food but this was mediocre.

Stopped here for a very good lunch! We were in good hands with our waiter, Steven. My friend and I both enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak special. I also tried their Spicy Pumpkin Soup, and while it was pretty good, I wish they labeled it as Curried Pumpkin instead, as it had a very strong curry taste to it. Overall, great food and well definitely be back the next time I find myself in Victoria!

Food was good and there is a good variety of foods to choose from on the menu. A solid 3.75 if I could give it that. The wait for the food is standard of a small kitchen so if youre expecting fast service, look elsewhere. Our wait time at around 12pm was almost an hour. After moving back to Victoria I was looking forward to eating at Huvar s again! The staff seemed overwhelmed. I had to ask for a server to come to my table. The food took forever to come. When it did, the kettle chips that were supposed to come with my sandwich were obviously Lay s potato chips. The cheese in my ham and Swiss sandwich was processed American cheese. They also did not have bread pudding which was still on the menu and what I was most looking forward to eating. The waitress said the chef simply didn t have time to make it. Super disappointed Huvar s! Not sure what s happened here but definitely not the restaurant I remember!

We ve tried to eat here several times and have yet to do so because they are closed even though it s during the hours that they have posted that they re open. Today we arrived 30 minutes before closing time and were turned away because the kitchen was already shut down. Hard to believe. If the closing time is 2:00, don t close your doors and kitchen at 1:30. Bad business and not customer friendly.

Was looking forward to going here for several days. I did my homework and noted down their restricted timings. Noted that their kitchen closes at 2pm and they close for lunch at 3pm. I had already reviewed their menu online, so I even knew what I wanted to order.I barely got out of work. I got there at 1:50pm......10 minutes before the kitchen closes and I was turned away. Gave this place another shot. Pretty good grub this time. Started off with the Key Lime Guac and chis and woooweee it was delicious!!! I had the club sandwich with sweet potato puffs. Everything was fresh. Although they could have been eaten by themselves, I dipped the puffs in ranch to give it that little extra and it did! We did have to wait a little bit for someone to initially come to our table. That was to be expected though due to it being super busy this day. Our waitress was very nice and thorough. Ive tried a ton of their pizzas to go but I finally got to dine in for the full experience and I have to say I was not disappointed. Stuart was attentive and was wonderful in helping select appetizers. My guest and I got their house salad with extra dressing and chicken and sangria as a drink. It was all absolutely amazing! The sangria was delicious and tasted amazing. The red sangria was my favorite between the two options available. We had mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and the cheese was melt in your mouth. Best mozzarella sticks I have ever had. The environment was wonderful as well. The manager at the time came to check on us and so did one of the cooks passing by. I have to give the full Huvars experience a solid 10/10 and cant wait to visit again to try their breakfast!

If I could post a zero I would but not an option. The process for what they serve you to start off are absolutely ridiculous! The prices are way different online than what you are charged for. *UPDATE July 18, 2019: Pizza Nights are now Friday-Saturday 6pm-9pm. Since the end of 2018 I have attempted to patron pizza nights 4 times and on different days and each time I was turned away because they closed early each time for different reasons with the last time being the Chef went home ill. Im not sure how or why the Sous Chef or Chef de Partie couldnt handle pizza night, but either way they closed. Thankfully, Jonathan is a really great guy and manager and made my 5th visit possible since they were finally open when I arrived. He made sure that dinner was enjoyable and as always, stellar service.* *UPDATE October 26, 2018: Pizza nights are a great addition to Huvars! Every Thursday - Saturday 6pm-9pm are pizza and pasta nights. Wood fired pizzas and house made sauce; they have some of your expected pies with a weekend special pizza as well.* Great food! I would give Huvars 5 stars if they would bring back dinner service (They came back with Pizza Nights). It sounds petty, but their dinner service was the best fine dining to be had in Victoria! The quail was amazing! Daily specials are creative, delicious, and priced well/competitively. Get there early to avoid the crowds seating both upstairs and downstairs available. Excellent choice for lunch meetings if you go upstairs. Catering is available for your parties and events. One of the best and more upscale and with the times restaurants in Victoria. Local favorite is Chicken Fried Steak every Thursday and Fish Tacos on Fridays!

I ordered online and had a salad delivered. And once I started eating I picked up my fork and huge long black hair was hanging from my fork. I have short blonde hair so it was not mine. When I called to tell them, I was treated rudely and told I would get a refund. Disgusted.

I love Huvars! The food is so freaking good and the waiters are very attentive. Only thing, I think they are a bit too pricey but other than that perfect spot for lunch!
