My husband and I went to J Prime Steakhouse this past Sunday 9/29/24 to celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary. We sat on the bar side since 1/2 price bottles are on Sunday in the bar area only. We are locals and have eaten at Jeffreys, Deans steakhouse, J carvers, Flemings, 3 forks, Eddie Vs and Red Ash (have tried all their steaks). The most memorable steak was in Florence, Italy. J-Primes 60 days aged tomahawk cooked medium rare was excellent. We have already started celebrating since Saturday and Sunday (Dim sum) so we were not hungry. Therefore, we ordered the blue cheese wedge salad to share, foie gras (as an add on for $20 which was ridiculous when you see the tiny 2 slivers that made us laugh so bad). However, Ethan was on point with service when he saw the portion and offered to get us more but we declined. Thank you Ethan Our server Chrys was super sweet and service was excellent; she was so sweet that we ate the boozy banana foster without complaining . The 1st time she cooked the banana foster it burnt and she had the integrity to not serve it. We asked for the sommelier; Manual came out and gave us his honest opinion without trying to up sell us which we appreciated. I really appreciate great service; even more so since I was a server at Mushashino and Kenichi when I was going to college as a single mom. I respect people in the service industry that actually provide good service. Glad we canceled going to Jeffreys to try something new (jeffreys also has 1/2 price bottles on Sundays and it is not just limited to the bar area). That being said, JPrime might want to rethink what is on the big screen TV besides sports for ambience. I dont think patrons going to a high end steakhouse ; who want to dine in the bar area wants to experience a sports bar atmosphere. Thank you to the host for the red rose to congratulate us; that was a nice touch.

When you are a vegan, you can certainly feel like the odd man out at a steak house but not at J-Prime. This is the restaurant my sister-in law chose for her 40th birthday and when I reviewed the menu I dreaded telling the waitress I was vegan but she was instantly welcoming and and accommodating, with the chef whipping up a special vegan amuse-bouche so I wasnt left out. Next, I dined on the yummy beet salad leaving off the cheese and ate my favorite type of meat, the succulent portobello mushrooms sautéed without the creme sauce and a baked potato so cooked to perfection it melted in my mouth. The server offered me olive oil and sea salt to top it with and this made it extra heavenly and it was large enough to share with my family. Of course I enjoyed the sorbet which is already dairy free. My sister in law chose this restaurant due to the amazing desserts and I will say, my family raved about their the cake! The service was out of this world with several people tending to us and checking in on us and even refiling our water long after we paid the bill. I just appreciate that I was so welcomed and my dietary proclivities treated with respect and nothing out of the ordinary at J-Prime so I could just enjoy a night out with my family without feeling like the odd man out! Ive have visited some great steak places in the US and abroad but J-Prime wowd me. The medium rare Filet Mignon was THE most flavorful and tender steak Ive had in my life. I could talk about how good the sides, the cocktail, the service and the desert was but I am still overwhelmed with how good the steak was.

This was the 1st restaurant we went to. We are from Alaska, and coming to Austin, TX was amazing. The J-Prime restaurant is a great place to eat steaks. The employees are very welcoming and helpful. The manager came and greeted us, and we let him know that we live in Alaska. The manager and his staff were friendly and welcoming. The courses were explained to us, and this was the 1st time we ate like we were superstars, lol. This was how we felt when eating at J-Prime, and it wasnt because we were from Alaska. It was because this is how the manager and his staff treat the guests. Well done and very great tasting food. I definitely will recommend to family and friends and strangers.

no one at our table enjoyed their mains. I had high hopes because our waitress was fantastic, the drinks were great and so were the appetizers and salad. But then as the night went on, the dinner service got worse. our group was tutored on which utensils to use and which side of the table we should eat from. Which I appreciated until the food runners started just throwing our plates on the table, acting unprofessional and serving from the left side. Felt weird and condescending to correct me as to where to grab my plate from when they are going to do the complete opposite. We were told a pallet cleanser of lemon sorbet was coming before our dinner, it didnt. i pointed it out and they said they would bring it and never did... i ordered the sea bass and it was the worst plate of fish ive ever been served. it was rubbery and had no flavor. I was so disappointed because I was so excited to have it because I love sea bass! i asked to send it back and the waitress informed me that the recently changed the recipe and a lot of customers felt the way i did. She said she would fix it right away and bring me something else. i was over the experience at that point and didnt want my table waiting for me to finish my food, but she insisted i order something. I got the scallops i stead which were so good! BUT, the plate wasnt comped.. not even the $10 price point difference, which I found tacky and inconsiderate after being told that they were struggling with the sea bass + all of the other mistakes.

I enjoyed my experience at J Prime! My group was a party of 10, and we enjoyed everything we ate, including: two tomahawk steaks, prime steak tacos, lobster tail, lobster mac n cheese, octopus ceviche, fried rice, truffle fries, a crab cake, Caesar salad, birthday cake, New York cheesecake, and creme brulee. Everything was delicious! Ethan and Alysse served our table and were attentive and hospitable. I was impressed that the resturaunt serves each patron a lemon-mint sorbet to cleanse the mouth in between appetizers and the main course. I recommend this establishment and would go again.

Alys was our server and was beyond attentive and kind to our party. She truly went above and beyond, especially considering it was closer to closing time. The manager, Ethan, also came around to check on us a couple of times and ensured we were very well taken care of. The food was wonderful and they had a very diverse cocktail menu as well. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for any special event or evening! 10/10

The best steak I have had in a long time. The experience was 5 star from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. We were seated quickly and the host was super friendly. The atmosphere inside was very fun and chic. Everyone seemed super friendly. Our server Alys was amazing. She was so friendly, gave great recommendations and was attentive but not over the top. The food was delicious. Steaks were great, cheesecake was great, espresso martini was great. I give our experience a 10/10.

This restaurant is lovely and super clean. The Rockefeller oysters were the best I ve ever had so good that I placed two orders of them. They were the perfect balance of cheesy, creamy, garlicky goodness and there was not a weird grittiness that you sometimes get with oysters. The plating on the first order was very cute as the oysters were placed on pebbles. The ribeye was cooked to perfection (Rare plus, how I like it) and had the perfect crust. I enjoyed the drinks as they gave me a nice little buzz to get my night started. The service was great and the energy in the room was overall amazing. I d say this is one of the best fine dining restaurants I ve been to and they re definitely worth trying.

Wow !! Oh what a night! We had our rehearsal dinner at JPrime Steakhouse in Austin for 30 guests. Everything was spectacular.! The booking of the evening was so easy and Miguel made it very simple to plan. The service was OUTSTANDING! We had a time limit so the staff was quick to get our meals out and serve all the food and drink with ease. The staff were so nice and very helpful. The maitred was fantastic! He met all of our requests and was always asking if everything was ok. The food was INCREDIBLE! So delicious and the drinks were exactly what we asked for. I cant think of a better place to host a function.!! We had a wide variety of entrees to choose from and the side dishes were so delicious. It was perfect for our rehearsal dinner and cant thank the staff , chef, manager, maitred ,enough for all they did to make it a wonderful night for our family and friends. THANK YOU!

Went here for our anniversary, and the service was outstanding. We were treated like royalty from the minute we arrived. The only complaint is we ordered the porterhouse, which was slightly overcooked, and they served it already cut off the bone. We didnt get any of the tender filet part of the steak like they removed that part or something. The steak was so tough that we didnt eat it all. So disappointing. Would definitely go back, but maybe ask them not to cut my steak next time and have it cooked as ordered.

Well there are three categories we can rate with. All deserved 6 stars if it was an option. Seriously well done J-Prime. You guys knocked it out of the park. Service was over the top, food was perfect and the atmosphere was exactly what you want. The guests that were with me kept commenting how amazing the service was. From a group that does a lot of fine dining getting them to comment on that means youre doing it right. Keep it up J-Prime, youre doing great! Oh also, dont sleep on the dessert! It was so good! We came in for a date night over the weekend and the food and service did not disappoint. We didn t have any reservations and were seated in the bar area but it was actually very comfortable and still intimate. I liked the high chair seating and watching the dj do their thing. Came here from out of town for my birthday and a show. Had a fabulous time from the moment I got of of my Uber to when I walked back outside. Showed up around five so it wasnt too crowded which was nice. A ballon and card were waiting for me at my table. I was on crutches so the staff was very accommodating and helpful. I have heard mixed reviews on this restaurant. My wife and I had a wonderful experience. This place proved that old saying you get what you pay for. The espresso old fashioned was great. This is the best steakhouse in Austin, hands down (possibly in Texas). The customer service was AMAZING! Chris, Astrin, Manny every single person we interacted with made us feel so special and cared for. We were all hugging on the way out haha! THE STEAKS WERE PERFECT! No you don t need salt; it s seasoned perfectlyyyy, juicy, and cooked to perfection! We honestly ate so much we made ourselves miserable at one point. It was too good!!! They also bring out amuse bouche and a palette cleanser before the meal. So yummy. The ambiance was elegant & classy without being uptight. Super clean. Modern. Today, Mothers Day, was our first time to eat at this restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful--we took home some because we were stuffed--and the atmosphere was decidedly upscale. Our server, Manny, made us feel like we were the only ones in the place. Every single employee we came into contact with, including Hunter in the restroom, was warm and exceptionally welcoming. If I had a large party or just a couple, I would recommend the establishment wholeheartedly. The general manager, Miguel Farias, came by asking how our meal was and was very sincere in his questions. It seemed like talking to an old friend you hadnt seen for a long time. My wife and I were visiting Austin for the first time. We selected J Prime due to its proximity to our hotel and its fine reviews. Being from New York, we are no strangers to excellent steakhouses. Palm, Ruths, Bobby Vans, Rothmanns (Long Island) are among the wonderful establishments we have frequently enjoyed. It hurts my New York pride to say that in every aspect - food, service, and atmosphere - J Prime absolutely operates at a different, higher level. Our server for the evening, Samarya H., introduced herself as a trainee under the watchful eye of her supervising server Erika (I believe). Erika touched base with us throughout the dinner assure that the service was flawless, and we were happy to affirm that Samarya was proving herself more than ready to deliver 5-star service with poise and perfect professionalism. But the unique aspect of the service we enjoyed was the multitude of little things provided by a range of staff that surprised us with unexpected small delights. Small cheese-bread balls fresh from the oven placed quietly next to our salads as we enjoyed them. Delicious! Small scoops of lime sorbet given before our main dishes to cleanse our palates. I love everything about this place! The ambiance, the food, the service, the cocktails... everything is exceptional and the prices are reasonable. I recommend parking with the valet. It was $15 but worth it as parking is very difficult to find. This place has become my favorite happy hour in town! The mezcal Smoke Show cocktail is excellent, and the food on the happy hour is enough to be a meal. I recommend this place for a romantic night or special event. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is sophisticated and sexy.

I will start by saying that 5 stars to rate this place are very short, I have been to many restaurants mainly in Las Vegas and NY, and I can say that this place is one where the service and food have been totally superior. We went for the wedding anniversary with my fiancée, from the moment we arrived the attention and the staff were very friendly, when we sat down at the table the minute they brought a flower and a happy anniversary letter (thank you very much because I forgot to lose it), at no cost extra. Our waitress was Alice, very friendly and nice, but we had the good fortune of meeting Francisco who is the manager and he explained each dish and wine we ordered, gave us suggestions and even made sure that the cut I ordered was available without being in the letter they were very kind in asking us how we wanted our dinner (we chose courses) Alice and Francisco thank you very much for making the night perfect and everything going well If you are looking for a place to share a special day, without a doubt this is the restaurant I recommend.

Vegetarian options: The server asked about any diet restrictions and when I said I was a vegetarian, they were sure to bring me vegetarian versions of any non vegetarian complementary dishes. Arguably the BEST restaurant in Austin!! Jackie was a phenomenal server. The support staff was also very meticulous. From hostess staff to managerial staff (Manuel), everyone made us feel welcome and taken care of. The food is so tasty! We had the charcuterie board, wedge salad, New York strip, lobster tail, and the carrot cake. The Irish coffee is the best I have ever had! I highly, highly recommend this restaurant for your next dinner or special event. This is a WELL oiled machine. We never even noticed tables being bussed. But, the restaurant was Spotlessly clean! I booked a night here for my boyfriends birthday, and from the moment that we stepped in the doors, it was literally the best dining experience I have ever had. The vibe was modern, clean, upscale, but also comfortable with a great selection of upbeat, up to date songs playing. The hosts immediately welcomed my boyfriend with a happy birthday, and took a giant, lit, perfectly round balloon with them to our table. Our table was a gorgeous booth where we could sit comfortably together side by side and had some privacy. I have to literally start a new paragraph simply to gush about our two servers, Hunter and Cameron. They were both so welcoming, so warm, so kind, so knowledgeable, and even though this entire experience was already 5 stars alone they elevated it to 10 stars easily. They were so attentive but I felt like we had privacy to enjoy our meal, they knew the menu back and front and gave AMAZING recommendations, and literally went above and beyond every chance they got. I recently was sick and though Ive been given a clean bill of health, I had a residual cough that I tried very hard to control but could not. Hunter brought me two cups of perfectly warm water with lemon to make me feel better. Without exaggeration the best service Ive ever had. We ordered east coast oysters, which were fresh, delicious, beautiful, and a perfect start to our meal. We then ordered the Wagyu sampler, which was cooked to perfection and which my boyfriend said was the best steak hes ever had. The creamy potatoes and asparagus were perfect and flavorful, but not too heavy - the perfect accompaniment to our steak. When our meal was over, they brought out a complimentary celebration cake, which was HUGE, beautiful, delicious, and so fun with sparklers. Everything they did made this night incredibly special. I want to note that we were kind of obnoxious because we were trying to also book flights at the same time for this weekend, and we ended up staying a very long time to finalize plans. Not a single time did I feel rushed or like we were an imposition. I had such an amazing night at J-prime. We called and made a reservation. We came in and were handed a rose and seated us quickly and it was a busy night. At our table they had set up a beautiful light and candle ( See pics below) . The food was amazing. The soup, the lamb, and I never thought I would like broccoli so much, theirs tasted amazing very favorable, the mashed potatoes was just as hood. Over all the food presentation and service 10/10. Miguel kept checking in on us constantly and even surprised us with a dessert. You know I had to come see what the hype is about and let me tell you its exactly what has been mentioned. Such a great luxury upscale experience from start to finish. Service from the GM as soon as we walked in the door to our server and his assistants were fantastic and gave us plenty of time in between to enjoy. Love the ambiance and the food was 10/10! We started with the Charcuterie board and we really got full of just that but then we wanted to experience more and tried Lobster Mac, Filet Mignon, and prime rib sliders all were delicious. My husband chose J Prime as a surprise for my birthday dinner, as he knows my intense love for a great steak. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was incredible and our server talked passionately about how much she loved working here. The lobster bisque was the best Id ever had. We shared a Tomahawk dinner for two with Brussels and Truffle fries, and it was delightful. I own a bakery and I usually wont order dessert at restaurants because most are just awful. I did hesitantly order the Celebration cake since it was my birthday, really not expecting much, and to my surprise it was delicious! Also beautiful with the rainbow cream cheese filling, confetti cake, and colorful sprinkles. And the best part? I got a lighted balloon! Lol! This was an unusual night which sometimes separates good service from great service but I was impressed. Okay, first let s acknowledge that of course the food will be top-notch (I mean, it s a fancy steakhouse right by the Austin Convention Center! So of course my dish was exceptional). I had the tartare trio, which is really creative but also easy to screw up? three raw proteins? but I LOVED it and will be back soon to have it again) and my wine was as good as expected. Where J Prime shined was the service. I came in late on a Friday evening, less than 30 min before closing, and figured I would sit at the bar and be shunned! Stefan (sp? Stephon) and Hunter were EXCEPTIONAL. They were attentive, kind, patient with me asking questions about the tartare (it s raw; I have questions!) and just had that thing where they can anticipate what a guest needs before they ask for it. A group of 5 of us were out to celebrate my friend s birthday. We scoured every steakhouse menu and were impressed with J. Prime s and thought we d give it a try. The atmosphere was very different from other steakhouses, I was impressed. Inside is very modern (couldn t tell it used to be an Uncle Julio s!), brighter than your traditional steakhouse and an overall fun, upbeat feel. They had a female DJ in the bar area spinning the music was a bit too loud so I gave it 4/5 for atmosphere. Otherwise the food was amazing and service was really next level. They started out with a little Italian Caviar amuse-bouche, followed by little gluten free cheese rolls that were delicious. We shared the crab cake, lobster bites, I got the wedge, filet mignon butterflied and we shared a bunch of sides: truffle Mac and cheese, crab fried rice, creamy potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The service is really what sets J. Prime apart (the guest WiFi password literally has best service in it. In my opinion, service across restaurants in Austin has been declining so this was very refreshing! For my friends birthday, everyone gets these clear balloons with a light up strand to keep. We thought it was fun and something classy/tasteful. They also brought out a giant piece of cake to share with sparklers in it. We will definitely be back!

I was thinking between 5 and 4 stars but picked 4 at the end because it wasn t too impressed with a 5 yet. Good: the restaurant is very cozy, nicely decorated and organized. You can really see the difference compared to other fine dining restaurants. Also the staff is very nice. Need improvement: the music from the bar area was too loud, the whole time we were there it s all DJ style. The tables are too close to each other, which also makes it look too busy with the servers walking back and forth. The food was just at ok level for the price of $70-$90 of a 12-16oz steak. The steak was overall good, but not a wow. It was at the border of too salty. I also ordered crab fried rice and they put too much soy sauce in it. Will I come back? Maybe.

Best Birthday Surprise!! My husband treated me and I instantly fell in love! EVERYTHING brought out to us was great. The birthday cake was one of the best cakes Ive ever had. From the moment we walked in until it was time for us to go service was outstanding! I was so full, I forgot my bag but when I went back Miguel was already waiting for me at the front desk. Excellent service and all around experience !! They made us feel like VIP from the moment we walked in. Someone was always asking us how we were doing or if we needed anything. Even the GM chris served us himself and brought us hot towels to clean out hands at the end of dinner. Our waiter Eddie was excellent !! The lobster bisque is A MUST!! Amazing experience for our date night , we will be back again!

All I can say is WOW! Me and my colleagues received the highest quality service. It almost felt like they treated us like celebrities. We had steaks, which were Halal and the crème brûlée as well as the birthday cake for dessert. Everything was perfect. The service was impeccable. The manager came to our table and made sure we were set up and had everything we needed, the servers were extremely nice and treated us with the upmost respect. I honestly can say confidently that this experience was like no other. The managers name is Francisco and I hope I have the pleasure of coming back here again.

Wow what an amazing experience. Ryan was our waitress, she was so kind, many other employees / management checked in on us. The food was amazing, best filet I ve had in my life. They gave us a complimentary crème brûlée for dessert, and took note on which anniversary we were celebrating. They had some lemon sorbet before the main course to cleanse your palate. And then they finished the evening off with lavender hot towels. Can t express enough how amazing the customer service / welcoming atmosphere was. 11/10 recommend!

Had an amazing experience at this delightful restaurant. Sat in the bar area and the service was excellent and on point. We had several different cuts of stake s and each one came out perfect and delicious. The smoked bourbon was a treat as well as the wine selection. We were a x2 walk in on a Friday night at prime time. First time here, many friends suggested we visit. First impression was great service (I made a res in San Antonio and we were in Austin), they corrected my error and sat us down immediately. Then we waited about 20 min for apps and another 10 min for wine. Escargot was good but different (melted cheese on top), wedge salad was the best appetizer and finally a lobster bisque that was a little gamey (strong lobster flavor, maybe refrigerated?) so my second impression was not good. Finally wine arrived and slowly we started to relax a little more. Then after another 45 min our steak arrived. American Wagyu, 22 oz, medium rare rib eye. Now, that was perfectly awesome. I almost forgot about the angry few minutes that I observed our waiter catering to the 4 top that arrived after we did while we waited for our wine. At any rate, my score is 6/10 for J Prime. Steak was 10/10. Was almost like a glitzy TGIF. III Forks, Perry s or Bobs are all better in that order.

Dined here with our group during F1 weekend this year. I have nothing but outstanding praise for this restaurant primarily because of their staff. Not only is the food outstanding and the ambiance wonderful but the servers are some of the kindest people in Austin. Our primary server Ashley was extremely professional, kind and accommodating to food allergies, etc. I find it rare in 2023 to have this level of service and couldn t appreciate her hospitality more. Additionally Brandi, Arlene and Otis were amazing employees who enhanced our experience all around. I want to thank you all for such an amazing experience. We ll definitely be back!!

So the real deal is this. J Prime is awesome!! Best service, best atmosphere, very best food....top of the line all the way. Our server was attentive, the maître d was on point, the manager was exceptional, and the dessert chef professional and had excellent skills. I got the Ribeye and it was beyond good. I felt like I was important when I ate that steak. 2 times in the past 14 months I have had excellent steak, and both were at J Prime in Austin, Tx. Will continue to return every time I am in town.

I had the pleasure of dining with my sons, and one of their friends, last evening in Austin, Texas. There s nothing that I can say bad about the restaurant. Everything was excellent. Music was good, but a little loud. Service was nonstop and perfect. So many people tending to various parts of the meal at our table. Steaks were excellent. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly. We had the seafood tower as an appetizer, which was excellent. Would definitely visit this restaurant every time I visit Austin.

From start to finish, the experience with flawless. Special shout out to Miguel, the GM, and our server Linc, who went above and beyond. Truly one of the best dining experiences I ve ever had, and I go out a lot, in a lot of cities. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and the wedge salad is top notch. But mostly I have to commend the service. It is so difficult to find quality service at this level these days. Well done.
