The food was great and there was nothing wrong with our service from our waitress or any staff we encountered. My biggest complaint is the scam that the bachelorette package is. First off, I had to complete a whole contract but tell me why they thought it was for a birthday party when we got there? It s called a bachelorette package? Also i filled in the brides name but they had mine instead. Second, on the contract it says food and beverage $84 for six people. Three people had to pay for sodas and we all had to pay menu price for food. So basically $84 dollars is to reserve a table (in a place thats almost empty at 10:30 am), to get bottomless popcorn and six rice krispie treats. Sure we got an offer for free cake once dessert came around but it wasnt good and i had to dispute it on the receipt. Third, we had to add mimosas for the people that wanted to drink, so thats $8 per person and not bottomless, so when the bride got a second glass it was $16 on her tab. Also, the new shots to replace the jello shots were disgusting. Ive never had Kahlúa mixed with fireball and not gonna start today. If you ask me, sure this is a good place to eat, but if you sign up for this package just understand the final bill will be way overpriced. Ive seen reviews of bach brunches here and thats why we went to Irenes, but our brunch just didn t look like that at all. Ive attached a pic of my receipt, we didn t complain in person because we liked our waitress and she had nothing to do with the price gouging we experienced here. (Btw its free to park in austin on Sundays but you should know to use the actual lot next door you have to pay). So, 14pp? Where? Actually a scam!

I came here yesterday evening (Thursday). I came for the food, but stayed for the lovely tarot reader, Deidre. To be honest, I definitely wouldn t recommend eating here. The food is mediocre at best, and the service is terrible. But Deidre, is incredibly gifted and very intuitive. She answered my questions as I was THINKING them, I hadn t even had the chance to speak before she began to read me like a book. She was not only very insightful but also very thorough, which really impressed me because she did the reading so quickly and efficiently . I would absolutely come back to see her again.

The atmosphere changes with the time of day, from bright brunch to classy afternoon coffee/snacks or dinner to lively bar. Well done options, with lots of veggies. Friends say its the best grilled cheese in Austin. The menu gets pricey, but its downtown. Kid-friendliness: Probably not a great fit at this price point.

I was already familiar with eating at Irenes for awhile but this time I brought my husband who is plant-based/vegan. He was a bit disappointed with the lack of options available. Its too bad because I really wanted us to enjoy it together. Vegetarian options: Could use a few more options and better labeling in the menus to make ordering simple.

The food was very good. Fried Chicken Sliders, Fries were a lot like five guys fries, popcorn and pickles - the popcorn was just popped with oil and salted like Alamo Drafthouse popcorn, pickles were your standard dill pickles. They also have Frozé as well as several other cocktails. Very nice open atmosphere, the inside is cooled well with AC. Service is friendly. Highly recommend.

Went here yesterday with a large group of friends to celebrate an important day and it was quickly ruined by the unwelcoming atmosphere. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and the bartenders, hostess/manager, and waitresses acted as if they did not see us and did not want to serve us. After waiting 20 minutes to be brought a menu a few of us went up to the bar to order food and drinks and we were told to go sit down in a very rude manner. My friends and I ultimately decided this was not an establishment we would like to give our money to and got up and left and were met with smirks and rude mumbled comments. I am not sure if this is how they treat all groups of people of color but I was very shocked and disappointed and will not be back, nor will I refer this place to anyone. We ended up going down the street to BarChi and the atmosphere, food, and service was 10/10, a full 360 from Irenes.

Made for a nice lunch venue for my coworkers and I. Prices seemed fair. Non-meat options are fairly limited which made it only a 3 star experience for me. I tried the roasted veggie taco and it was decent although bland. I brought my own seasoning which seemed to have saved the day. Most restaurants tend to season their meats elaborately and throw you bland unseasoned veggies and non-meat proteins. People who dont eat meat still deserve to taste our food. There was an extensive array of cocktails however I unable to partake as I had to go back to work. Vegetarian options: Roasted veggie tacos - meat and dairy free. Veggie burger on brioche- vegetarian at best.---------------- I dont think there was a vegan protein option. Maybe the veggie burger could be a vegetarian protein option but its unclear from the menu.

This place has decent cocktails and food, and usually isn t excessively crowded. My only gripe is that they seem to be egregiously understaffed, and as a result the bar staff are understandably overwhelmed even by the modest customer base. Management should look to hire additional staff. Also, occasionally this venue attracts bachelorette parties, which is never fun for anyone.

What Ill say from my dining experiences at Irenes - I havent had better service elsewhere. The staff is super welcoming, even if Im coming in by myself for a quick drink or sitting down with a few friends. It also gets pretty rowdy during brunch, and I like the atmosphere where everyone is having a good time. You also cant go wrong with their full espresso bar - their cold brew is STRONG if you just need to get through a long week Come to unwind, come back for the craft cocktails that are developed in house!

Please read before buying overpriced bachelorette package! We were there this weekend and received HORRIBLE service. Slow drinks that came after the food was done, no popcorn refills, terrible tasting Jell-O shots, and a moody waiter that was not a good vibe and was honestly rude! Four of us were up charged on things and our waiter never let us know and when we brought it to his attention he was annoyed at US!! I would never write this but after writing to the manager, Nicolai, and receiving little to no solution for the terrible service and overcharging I wanted to warn future parties to save your money and spend it anywhere else for a fun time!

I loved this place! I tried the grilled cheese, tomato soup, quesadilla, and a coffee, and it was all perfection. The grilled cheese and cup of tomato soup are both easily the best Ive ever had from any restaurant. It was so fresh tasting and had real flavor to it. For an appetizer I had the Irish nachos which were delicious with the sour cream and guacamole with every bite. I also got to try the quesadilla and this quesadilla was mouthwatering. The black beans were seasoned as if it was taco meat making it a good option for a vegetarian or anyone who loves taco seasoning, I will definitely be craving this quesadilla because I was not expecting it to be so good. The spring coffee menu came out today, so I tried the raspberry white chocolate hot latte and while I was scared for a fruity flavor in my coffee, it was surprisingly spectacular and I loved it. Additionally, the service from our waiter was amazing it created an even better environment inside of a beautiful interior. I am most certainly going to come here again and get the grilled cheese, tomato soup, and that quesadilla again!! This place is an Austin must try!

Irenes!! What can I say that hasnt been said already about your amazing restaurant. Great service, check. Great food, check. Yummy drinks, check. Everything was good! I actually walked by a couple of days before going in. The lady that was out front and smiling convinced me to come back two days later and check yall out. I had to work, but I was able to find a cool spot with free wifi inside. Your lunch special of $15 for an entree, side, and a drink cannot be beat. I got the al pastor tacos with a side salad and drip coffee. It is so hot outside, so the thought of hot anything made me want to scream! However, your waiters hooked me up with an iced coffee and cream. The coffee was amazing and strong, but not too strong to take away from the flavor that was so good. I ended up having two as another staff member hooked me up before leaving. I also got your froze, which was one of the smallest Ive ever seen, but so good! It had just a pop of sweetness that made me want another, but I stopped. I hung out for a couple of hours and there was never any rush for me to leave. The staff was nice and one of the managers even came over and said hello. My day was really made by coming here. Nothing but good vibes at Irenes!

About 16 of us went for my friend s bachelorette brunch. The food and drinks were 10/10. They gave us cute little Rosé Jell-O shots and marshmallow treats before we even sat down. The table set up was really cute. There were also a couple of great photo opportunities around the restaurant. But what really took that cake was our server Amanda. 10000000/10. Her positive and energetic attitude made the whole experience. We even said at our next dinner place This place is great but our server is no Amanda. If you re reading this, thank you!!

We had brunch here with our pup & had a great experience. They brought out ice water for our dog which was really sweet. The BLT was incredible - I feel like BLTs are usually just ok but this one was REALLY good. The migas were good too! Definitely recommend getting the corn tortillas and making it into breakfast tacos.

My first time visiting Irene s was a huge disappointment. The service was quite terrible and rude. The waiter spent more time investigating my ID to ensure it wasn t fake, which is understandable but the service that followed was terrible. The waiter dropped off our drinks and never came back after 1 hour to ask if we wanted or needed anything else or wanted to order food. He helped multiple other tables beside us and when we tried to get his attention and asked another waiter for him to come, simply looks at us and ignored us. We finally had to get up and ask to speak to a manager inside and magically the waiter appeared and asked what we were doing! Truly a terrible first experience and this place is only good if you re looking for a cute instagramable place.

This was my first time visiting Austin, TX and Irene s was first on our list. I really liked the vibes here. It s a great spot for an afternoon lunch. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun. The service was good and we were able to find a spot to sit once we arrived. I ordered the chicken sliders with potato salad. I didn t enjoy my food however I still think it s worth visiting.

Fun vibe with lots of uni students. Food was good, not great. Coffee was meh. Service was friendly. Ive given it two stars because its so incredibly wasteful and bad for our planet to serve in-house diners with disposable utensils, it also makes the food eating experience feel really low rent.

What an amazing experience! The food came out in a fast and timely fashion! Drinks as well and they were perfectly made! The one thing that made the whole experience though was the manager! She was sooo attentive and really involved with making sure we had a great time! I believe her name was Elena or maybe Alena? Not sure on spelling but she was amazing and me and my group friend loved her hospitality! Being in the hospitality industry myself I know what to look for in terms of running a floor shift and over all operations and she for sure killed it! Irene s staff today was great!

Drinks: Frose, Long Cool Woman & Smoke on the Water Eats: Fried Chicken Sliders, Kimchi Bacon Sliders, Spicy Cabbage Slaw & Dirty Shells n Cheese The aesthetic is very modern with vintage flair. Pretty photo wall with pink neon, and pink outdoor lights replaced the traditional white Edison bulbs, creating a sexy, effervescent atmosphere. The wrap-around patio illuminated by the rose-tinted-glass bulbs added a fun flavor of fem that makes Irene s a special place for both date night or a night in celebration of a special date. Service is absolutely stellar. Food is delicious. If you re lucky enough to catch the Kimchi Sliders, don t skip them. The cocktail program offers an exceptional option for every preference. Love this concept. Highly recommend. Will go again

I was blown away by the incompetent staff and lack of quality service at Irene s. The waiter input the incorrect order and seemed clueless when the wrong food was delivered. After politely informing them of the mistake, the initial waiter decided to hang our table off to someone else, without ever communicating this to us. The waiter disappeared, leaving my group practically abandoned, until a new waiter eventually showed up. We then we re incorrectly charged for multiple meals because of the mistake made by staff. Upon asking about what is going on and inquiring our waiter even is we were left at loss. They were clueless and quite frankly it seemed no one there really cared. Do yourself a favor and never come here unless you re looking to be dissatisfied.

I m shocked this place has so many good reviews. Maybe we just came on a bad day? First, the completely wrong plate came out. Then, one of the orders didn t even come out at all. We also had no utensils. Then, our waiter left and we had a new one that we didn t get informed about and nobody came by to check on us for some time. AND after all that, they put a charge on the bill for the wrong plate that came out as well as the correct plate (additional charge for food we didn t order or eat). Only person that apologized for anything was the man who brought our food out. They did comp the food that never originally came out. Thankfully too because it was birria tacos and they were not only terrible but both of us felt immediately sick after eating. In general, the rest of the food was plain and disappointing. We also got a bottle for mimosa and they brought out the bottle of alcohol and a thing of orange juice was was probably less than 4oz to be used for the whole bottle of champagne. The thing is, we were very patient about everything. I m really not sure why the service and experience was one of the worst I ve experienced. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Staying in the neighborhood, we walked to a nearby favorite and found them closed due to it being New Years Day. Walked around looking for an open restaurant and found Irenes. Food, service and coffee were excellent. Very friendly staff. I had chillaquiles, my wife ate their biscuit breakfast with eggs and sausage. We both added their apple kolaches, and were delighted with everything! Thanks for a good breakfast and a pleasant time!
