This place is the worst, I honestly don t know how they have 4 stars Music blaring so loud inside it actually hurt. Come here if you love bad service and tables that haven t been cleaned since 2012. Worst meal I had in over a week in Austin. The best part is they add an automatic 20% gratuity. Probably because they re self aware enough to know how bad their service is.

BEWARE THIS BAR. DONT use your card here to pay. I had to cancel my card because this bar made a fraudulent charge for something i didnt buy. I bought a single drink and closed out my card and got notified of the charge. Only to get another notification later on that I got charged again after the bars had closed.

A bartender (who admitted he was on coke) barged into the restroom and opened the stall while I was using it. I proceeded to tell him to back off and wait his turn. He then proceeded to yell THIS IS MY BAR, GET THE **** OUT and when I asked a bouncer at the front what his problem was, he stated oh yeah, he just did some coke, don t mind him.

Had a terrible experience trying to walk in on a Thursday around 2pm. The sign says it opened at 11am and we are visiting. The guy at the bar said we are not open yet that s why the door was shut with an attitude. We said ok, the sign says you open at 11am and the door is unlocked. He then continued to be rude until we got rude back and left. Family from Texas went back to see what happened he was rude to them as well, said it was a different guy, threatened to call the police, and only stopped talking/being rude when one of us asked if it was because some of us are black. He had NO response.

I dont normally like to leave bad reviews but I think its important to feel comfortable and safe where you go. I dont feel comfortable with a non-black DJ using the N-word so freely at a bar. People go out to have a good time, it is unnecessary and very disrespectful to enter a space that allows this to slide without any action taken. You can still have fun and pump an audience without using racial slurs. I hope this issue gets address among staff/management to ensure a more inclusive and comfortable experience for future customers.

I personally am against any one using racial slurs, there is NEVER a right time or place to use that type of language. They have a DJ at the end of the night who loves to throw around the N-word. I don t condone anyone using that language especially those who aren t black. The DJ claims he s from PR, however being from a place with black people doesn t give you the right to say it. This was brought up to upper management with no change in behavior or attitude. I had a bad bartender having no patience taking order drinks from a friend of mine. She yelled at him and said a few things. I saw how her personality just switches to sweet, rude, ect we thought it was bad service. Yeah we decided to tip zero. The reason for the one star is the extremely poor service in response to an obvious error on the part of the kitchen. Errors are going to happen but management is supposed to be ready to respond. We were a large group that placed our orders separately for food - several individual orders for of 3, 4, and 5 meals. While waiting, we bought more than several items of logo merchandise, ordered pints of beer, and several flights. We were spending a lot of money here. Each individual group order was received in a relatively short time. Except one of our groups. They waited. And waited. And waited. After 35 minutes past the last previous party receiving their food, we asked about the order. It is coming right out now was the response. This pattern occurred for three more intervals of 10 minutes each. One server started apologizing and to try to make up for the error offered to bring them complimentary glasses of water for the inconvenience. Really? Water? In a glass? Not So sorry for the RIDICULOUSLY long wait - this meal is on us or anything of the sort. When the order finally came it was still incomplete and the 3 chicken strip dinner only had 2 chicken strips. The other dinner finally arrived and to make up for the missing 1 chicken strip 2 strips and a few extra fries were brought. All that was given for a lost order that took well over an hour after all other parties received & ate their meals was verbal apologies, 1 extra chicken strip and a few fries. All I can say is customer service is not being practiced well here at all.

Female bartender was awesome, attentive, made great menu suggestions. Delicious vegetarian taco options. Manager was oblivious and inattentive and made watered down drinks, when we were even able to get his attention. We all would have stayed and spent a lot more money if he didnt suck at his job. Manager was hanging out and talking to his friends at the bar, ignoring customers who tried to flag him down repeatedly. Had to ask him repeatedly for things, like a 2nd round, to go boxes and the check, even though he kept walking right in front of us to keep turning the music louder and louder until no one could hear anything, yelling in each others ears, right next to each other. And this was early on a sunday. Bar was not busy at all at the time. Owner needs to replace the brotender manager who cares more about hanging out and flirting than doing his job, and continually neglects his paying customers.

The situation in downtown Austin is quite dire, and all things considered, I think youll have a good experience here. Is it the best food on 6th? So I went to this place four, yes four, nights in a row... It was two blocks from my hotel, and honestly I just wanted to not go far and be able to get a drink and decent food (its Austin after all). First, get the Orange Brisket taco and stop asking so many questions. Get the dang thing and be happy. Happy hour regularly had $3 frozen margaritas. What are you complaining about? Theyve got some chef back there making this menu with love and attention. And the chefs that carry out this menu do so with fantastic consistency. I mean, I brought my Austin friends here (Never heard of it...) And they were really impressed by the price, the service, and the quality. Get the tostadas (obviously), and if youre looking for some low-key vibes and good music, hang out here after dark. The crowd tends not to be too young (a good thing, let the early 20-somethings have the rest of 6th Street). It wasnt too crowded (weekday crowd was always chill). And the bar tenders there took care of me. Just overall a fantastic experience, from the food to the drinks to the service to the music. This is my new go-to spot if no one has a preference for what to do in Austin. Always had a good time, always got what I expected, and rarely walked out paying more than I planned. Place is a sleeper and I hope it sticks around and stays that way. TRY THE BRISKET TACOS GOSH DARNNIT.

What a great place! If youre looking for someplace a little out-of-the-way, little out of the ordinary, this is what you want... Right here on 6th Street. For dinner, I had the avocado salad, and the chupacabra... Barbacoa taco with all the works. Absolutely outstanding!

The drinks were really tasty at the Chupacabra. I had the hibiscus margarita. I really enjoyed it. The bartenders were super nice and friendly too! Definitely has a cool atmosphere in here!
