Ive had what I thought was the best bbq where I live, but this place blows them out of the water. Everything Ive had here is nothing short of perfect. The burnt ends literally melt in your mouth. The tacos are simply amazing. Make sure to get there a little before they open though. Theres normally a line to get in! Cant wait to go back!

Ate this for the first time today . I had the corn the Mac and cheese and brisket sandwich . The meat is wonderfully seasoned a marinaded . The only two things I disliked and I find it would suit them well to change is the buns . They tasted so cheap and dry . I wanted to take my meat off because the bun made the meat taste cheap . I think a high quality bun would be suited for a high quality meat . This I would change or bring your own buns . I also liked the Mac n cheese but it s so overly cooked the noodles have no bite to them and is very soggy . The noodles need to be more al dente if you re baking them also . The flavor is good just over cooking noodles is a big no no . The noodles are to overly cooked creating a mushy taste . I think they have the right taste and flavors . I would just fix these too things and it would be a 5 star then . This comes from a cook . Cooking is my passion and I will say this so deff a place that can go places if they continue to fix these little things .

Literally everything we tasted was amazing. We had a brisket sandwich, brisket tacos, burnt ends, street corn and Mac and cheese. The salsa for the tacos was so fresh and delicious. The girl that helped us was super kind and helpful too! Awesome experience. Will definitely be going back.

Wow! I cannot believe it took me so long to try this BBQ. The brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and turkey were all fantastic. The sauce paired well with the smoke, adding a sweet heat flavor to all the meats. BBQ is expensive to produce, and consumer prices have kept climbing over the years in response. I dont mind spending money on quality, so, for my money, Sunbird is the best BBQ joint in town. Period. Vegetarian options: Its a BBQ restaurant. Meat is in everything but the desserts Parking: Not a ton of parking between Sunbird and the Pho restaurant beside it, but it is free parking. Wheelchair accessibility: It has a very cramped interior and limited seating. For those with limited/altered mobility, Id suggest take-out.

Was not great, went during lunch arrived around 11:15. Ordered Brisket, Sausage, and Ribs with a side of street corn and beans. The brisket was good but not to die for, the sausage was wayyyy over ground to the point where it was almost a smoked paste inside a wrapper. The ribs were dry as can be, though I did enjoy the seasoning on it. Definetly a joint you would need extra bbq sauce from but that s also $0.50 extra.

I am so happy I stumbled across this place. Id been craving brisket for a long time. One day for lunch i decided to Google bbq near me. This place was less than 2 miles from my job. I came, I ordered the brisket, corn, and beans...and OMG!! This was the real deal. Thick cuts too. I love that they ask you if you want a lean cut, fatty cut, or a mixture of the two. I am team fatty all day! This is real bbq folks. None of that thin sliced, oven mess that some of these other restaurants try to pass off as real. I will travel for this brisket. Ive tried some of the other varieties of the sausage too, all great too. I tried the pork belly taco....LORD!! So good and melts in your mouth. My only request would be to offer it on a corn tortilla as well, because thats more my jam. I wish I could eat here everyday of the week, but I cant. These bills and the growing child I have wont let me be great and just endorse my paycheck and hand it on over to them. I understand that it is a bit pricey, but the quality of the food that you get in return more than covers the cost. Im full right now, with leftovers. But I still would keep nibbling if I didnt have this amount of will power I have right now. This place is the best. You absolutely must try it! The parking is challened due to all the other customers who know whats up. Prepare to wait at least 10 minutes...maybe 2 or 3 more after ordering for your meal to be ready. But the vibes and the good smelling food are again, worth it. Yal better come get you a plate. COME EAT HERE!!

Great brisket. Read some bad reviews and was nervous. Big portions. Bun wasn t wet. No fat beyond the normal expectation. The bun is toasted. The sauce was good and spicy. The place was clean and many in line. Customers and staff acted respectable and kind. Good place and well recommended..

I really wanted to love this BBQ, but to me, it just didn t seem to have much flavor. I tried the ribs, brisket and sausage. Both the brisket and ribs were tender and looked amazing. The sausage was on the dry side and just not my type. The beans and street corn were a fantastic meal all by themselves! People at the other tables obviously enjoyed their meals and the restaurant was full of people taking to go orders and people eagerly waiting on their orders. The service is quick, attentive and friendly. The presentation is what a Texas BBQ plate dream is made of! It was probably just me being the odd man out that day. I will definitely try them again.

Fabulous sliced brisket sandwich, bbq sauce and spicy street corn. They were sold out of pork at 12:15pm on a Friday, so I would say you need to get there at 11 to try it. Seating is limited, but people clear out fast.

Wanted to give a 3.5, Ive gone there twice first time I had the Ribs and House sausage. The 2nd time I had a slice beef Sandwich and Ill Break down each food. Ribs - 3.5 - To me ribs either need to have good season or a good smoke to them. Whatever bit of season and smoke these ribs had were masked by the amount of black pepper that was on it. I like ribs with black pepper but there has to be some other flavors underneath it. I also believe they could have been cooked a bit longer. Had a bit too much bite and looked a bit undercooked. Sausage - 2 - It simply was not to my taste. Others might like it but it kinda reminded me Chorizo... maybe. Bit too much chili powder. Slice Beef/Brisket - 3 - It was tender, no smoke ring (but that doesnt count for anything) It was too salty and I like salt. The combination of Salt and pepper and whatever else was on it made it actually taste like a Hamburger. But I wasnt there for a burger. The pickles were old and they could have done better with onions. if you have time maybe get some sweet onions from the farmers market. Service - 5 - people were friendly, food didnt take long. I really like the atmosphere. BBQ Sauce - sweet runny sauce not bad / not great Im most likely going to remove this review. It popped up and realized I made some errors and edited so it made it seem like a new review. I Have been back again when you all were located near the crust & crumb and I still feel the same. But I will remove most this till I have a chance to go to your new location.

I just ordered 3 rib plates from there, they handed me the the bag with 3 containers in it and when I got home and opened them they ONLY had 3 ribs inside each of them and a small cup of beans inside. I paid $12 each for 3 ribs & a small beans. THAT S $36 for 9 ribs!!!! Will Not Be Going Back For This Reason!!! I was a long time supporter and customer of this business 12/2/2023

Got to try Sunbird at their new location today and was extremely pleased. We had pork, brisket and turkey tacos, beans, street corn and house sausage. Its exactly what BBQ should be when you think of it. Staff was friendly as usual and the atmosphere was nice. Strangers talking to one another coming together over one thing, BBQ! Highly recommend, but show up early!

Some of the best BBQ around. I ve never had anything I didn t like. The brisket and ribs are always smoked to perfection. If you re a fan of tacos, they ll throw any of their meats on a fresh tortilla for you and top it with some cotija cheese and green salsa. My favorite are the pork belly tacos. Some menu items, created by the legendary Sunbird Munchies , only make a special appearance and I highly recommend you try them when given the chance. A few of these items include the macaroni and cheese, street corn, (I recommend topping either of these with chopped brisket), honey butter cornbread, banana pudding, and smoked chicken and dumplings. Texas monthly even fell in love with the Mac and cheese. The people who run this joint are always super friendly and pour their heart and soul into their craft, which is reflected in this top notch Barbecue. Make sure you get here early. They can only cook so much each day, and when it s gone, it s gone. If you re looking for some good BBQ in Longview or East Texas, this should be your first choice.

Stopped in to try the brisket and was really impressed. The lean slice was juicy and very tender and the fatty slice was almost falling apart. The seasoning was very good as well. I dont normally like to many BBQ sauces. Most places in East Texas tend to have super sweet sauces but Sunbirds BBQ sauce had a good blend of sweet and tangy with a little heat and was very good. If your looking for top notch BBQ in North East Texas I highly recommend this place!

Stopping by after 1pm on Saturday, I was kicking myself for being so late, as I was in the mood for some of Sunbird s delicious brisket. Sure enough, he had just wiped the board of all their selections except for the pork belly tacos, that I had never tried before. Oh, well, I ordered two. Oh, my goodness, they were awesome! Perfectly roasted, slightly smoky pork belly with a little onion, cilantro, and pineapple. Just right!

Ordered brisket and ribs for Christmas dinner, and was blown away!!!! My daughter was in from out of the country so she has not had any bbq in over a year, the taste of those sticky ribs and the tender brisket will stay with her until the next time she comes to Texas!!!!! As a connoisseur of bbq eating at 30 of the Continental States. Texas, BBA reputation has always underwhelmed me. Sunbird is by far the best bbq I had in the state of Texas. The Brisket is well seasoned, moist and you can taste the woods they use too smoke there Brisket. Still the Brisket is the star attraction of the taste. I hate Corn but their corn on meat (might got the name wrong) was amazing. Im not a Texan so Texan Beans are alien to me. However it was good. From the moment I approached the food truck I was greeted by warm smiles and big hello. So I was comfortable to ask questions. In return they were more than happy to answers my questions. Great place to eat and amazing BBQ. There is an area for truckers to pump gas and maybe do a 30min. If not you can pull in the front of the gas station and Sunbird is to the right/east.

Located in a food truck just north of Longview, you d think this would be humble BBQ but it is anything but. Bryan Bingham and his crew are doing incredible work, anchoring their traditional brisket/ribs/pork/sandwiches with newer items like tacos and creative specials and sides. This place will be in the next Texas Monthly Top 50, so get there before the lines become too long

As always they did not disappoint. My husband ordered the brisket and sausage sandwich and although it was very good he wished he has known it was chopped and mixed together. He thought it would be sausage sliced on top of the sandwich. We got there at 11 and there were already about 5 people in line but it moved fast and the food came out in no time at all. Only recommendation would be to deliver food out the the back of trailer or at a second window.

Im posting on my wifes account; we made our 1st visit to Sunbird BBQ today-in anticipation ever since they left the place on Mobberly and heard they were opening their own place.. DISAPPOINTING, no other way to say it--i guess everyone is entitled to a bad day. Sliced beef for me, chipped beef for my wife. There was as much fat chunks as their was beef; we picked thru the fat and honestly the flavor just wasnt there. Again--disappointing.
