I went to play there Friday with a friend. When we went to pay the bartender asked my friend if he was a league player, he said no. The bartender said you get free table time if you are so I told her I was a league player. She said unless I was paying the bill, that didnt matter. So since I wasnt paying for my friends food and drinks we still had to pay for the table time as well. The bill was $250 dollars which $100 of that was table time. Doesnt make any since why I had to pay the entire bill to get the free table time for being a league member. Its not right, so be aware.

The food and drinks werent bad, but this place is so cramped and hot and stuffy that its just unpleasant being inside. No hand chalk either despite it being so warm that I was damp all over. The pool tables are nice but very close together not just to the other players but the design and layout just makes it uncomfortable

Tables that will challenge you but make you a better player. Between your curse words, you will slowly acknowledge its for the betterment of your game. Service staff is kind and fast. They are obviously happy with their jobs. French fries are delicious

I always enjoy going here to play some pool with my dad or his friends and of course occasionally bringing my friends or girlfriend along too Im glad this place is here and I hope it stays for quite some time. I also cant beat when they have the buy one get one deals especially when it comes to their turkey sandwiches or burgers. It is also one of the only places that has cognac and that is quite surprising most Texas bars dont.

Great pool hall, came in on Sunday, place was busy. If you are serious about darts however, this is not the place to go. They have 3 decent boards that are well lit, but they are flanked by two bathrooms in a cramped space. Friendly bartenders.

Best in Austin and Beyond! Great tables with plenty on space so you dont have to worry about neighbors bumping you. Great service and atmosphere. I have a friend who drives 40 minutes, passing other pool halls, to come down to Betsys!

Cute place where you can play at your leisure and grab a drink in peace. They have a pretty good happy hour deal during the day, and I really like that at night it s not rowdy whatsoever. Everyone is just having fun and keeping to themselves/their parties. I absolutely LOVE how they also have a game of darts in the back, I love darts. The tables, cues, and pool balls are always clean and polished every time we visit.

The employees are very rude. I gave them my card to pay, and then just stood there for a minute waiting for it back. The guy just said Well keep your card. When I asked Can I check how much time I have left? He just said Yep. And stared at me blankly. I think it would have been less rude if he just said No. The only reason I gave it 2 stars and not one is that the price is actually pretty reasonable.

Didnt even get a chance to play because of league night. Bummed that every week night is league as it makes it difficult to get in for a quick game with friends as most tables are reserved. Also wish those under 21 would be allowed till 9pm not 7.

The atmosphere is cool but there s not a straight cue in the place (which equates to lame ) It was my first time here so maybe I caught them at a bad time just before they plan to add some straight cues to their stock. Who knows? At any rate, my nickname for the place is either going to be Crooked Cue s or maybe Crooked Betsy s not sure yet. It s just frustrating to go into an actual billiard hall and can t find a cue worth using. Ultimately a let down. Edit: Oct 27, 23 I just spoke with a friend that visited there this month and he said that they replaced their cues. YAY! I believe I ll have to give the place a try again. Once I do, I ll do a new review. For the time being, I m going to change the 2 stars to 3

This is a nice clean place to play some pool with friends. They have more than 25 available tables and a full bar. I also tried the attached cafe, had the basic burger and loaded fries. Loaded fries were great, burger was good but over cooked. Overall a great spot for billiards, check it out.

This is my favorite Billiards Hall. I come here for pool + drinks on date nights with my husband and also during the day with my kiddos after school. They love getting to play and have snacks. Favorites for them are the veggie burgers, fries, veggies w/hummus, and edamame. As a vegan momma I very much appreciate the availability of veggie-friendly options that dont break the bank. Between decent prices + daily specials, this activity is easily affordable once a week or so, and has been great fun + quality time spent with my whole family.

Ive always had good experiences here until recently. Took an Uber on a Friday night and place was empty. They hired a bouncer to check ids. We were three middle aged dads all clearly over 40. My buddies license was expired and they wouldnt let him in. I get that IDs need to be checked but a 45 year old with a beer gut and an ID that clearly has his picture on it (just expired) is basically a no brainier, but this guy, nor the bartender, could use their brain. The only explanation for this moronic behavior is that TABC had recently busted the place. Thats not my problem. Thats Betsys problem. And judging by the total lack of customers on a Friday night I guess they eliminated a lot of business when they started checking IDs. Either way bad business practices make for bad business. Hopefully they can turn it around. I might try again in a few weeks and will update my review if they turn their brains back on.

I wish I could give 4.5/5 stars! Very clean, very friendly place with LOTS of tables! My husband and I came here after waiting over an hour at another nearby Billiards bar only to find out the waitlist hadnt moved at all, so we decided to leave that place and try out Betsys. We arrived around 11:30 thinking wed have until 2am to drink and play. When we arrived there were lots of open tables, the staff was super friendly and we were able to get a drink and a table right away. When they gave the last call just a few minutes later (just before 12am), we were a little shocked. Then the bartender explained that they just close the bar at midnight, but we can keep playing until 2am. I realize that they probably stop serving alcohol at midnight due to licensing or zoning. Now that we know that they stop serving alcohol at midnight we can be better prepared for our next visit. We will definitely be back! This place was SO much cleaner than the other place we had just come from, and the staff was way friendlier. We also appreciated that the music was loud enough to enjoy without it blasting our eardrums out. As a woman, I personally felt safe and comfortable using their super clean restroom, compared to the previous billiard bars super disgusting one. I really wish I could give 4.5 stars, because the alcohol serving time really isnt that big of a deal, it just wouldve been nice to know before hand.

I went to get a burger and fries on Sunday. I found out they have 2 for 1 Burger meals. Great deal! They even have a military discount for all the heros who served our country! The mushroom swiss burger was the best Ive had in Austin. Not 4 or 5 mushrooms on this burger, there was so many they were falling off the burger and you could taste them in every bite. Ill definitely be having more burgers from Betsys Billiards!

I would rate higher if it was not a show, to pay with cash. I get it that being in South Austin the billiard balls get stolen and zapping a debit card is for authorization/deposit. But paying cash should be so complicated - I had call and wait a week for my card to get back funds when I paid in cash. Please fix this - btw Bloody Mary s are good.

A large and spacious pool hall with a ton of clean tables. The pockets are tight and the sticks are well-kept. Chalk abounds. The food here is pretty good as well, especially the burger. The salad and fried mushrooms are quite good as well. They have a ton of daily and happy hour specials that are pretty hard to beat. On Thursdays they have $3 kamikazes and during happy hour (lasts until 7:00pm) the Lone Star is $2.50. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, good players. If you re a billiards player or someone looking to have fun with friends, come by.

The owners are rude, and customer service is nonexistent. My friends who played in the tournament wanted me to help them practice, but I was removed from the practice table by the owner because I wasnt in the tournament, so I watched my friend practice by himself. Im guessing because he wanted me to pay, he would have made a lot more money from me buying my friends drinks but ill take my business elsewhere. I will not be back. There is a reason league players are the only ones that play here. Its just not a pleasant place. UPDATE- You can tell what kind of person owns this so-called business. Instead of coming over to talk to me about my review and perhaps smooth things over, the owner complained to my friends, who are now upset with me because they frequently come to the establishment and are afraid of retaliation. Wanted to check this place out so me and my buddy went by and it was really awesome the service was really good they were very friendly the restrooms were very clean it was very roomy. The environment inside very nice and clean and very spacious and I like that the pool tables are very nice too. I did order some loaded fries and chicken strips they were both pretty good considering its bar food. Definitely cool to go earlier in the day because its cheaper to play from like 12 to 7:00 as opposed to 7 to close. They have happy hour and specials on days which were really cool I will definitely be coming back to play some more pool.

Great new pool hall on the south side. Lots of pool tables, they have League almost every night, and lots of parking. The menu is bar food but it has something for everyone. HH is from 11:30-7pm with discounted food and drinks. Full bar, great draft selection, can/ bottle beer, and great service. League teams do take up most of the tables after 7pm but you can still find a table or 2 if youre just coming in to shoot some pool. This is probably the nicer pool hall Ive been to in awhile. Definitely check them out!

Betsy s Billiards is absolutely amazing. Owners Betsy and Lane and two of the nicest people ever. The facility is clean, spacious and has a homie vibe. Other than the pool tables, they also have gaming machines that are super fun and can win you $$! The service is suburb and the food menu is AMAZING. You can actually order healthy options instead of only having bar food options. The staff is friendly, attentive and quick ! Im reluctant to let people know how awesome this place is since that will destroy its current status of Hidden Gem. Buuuuut, well, the staff is friendly and attentive, drinks are plentiful and affordable, the tables are aplenty and each table is named after a city in Texas. What an awesome pool hall. Not only are the tables new and very nice, the food is terrific as well. At Betsys you can play a great game of pool without worrying about the quality of the equipment. One of the nicest pool halls I have ever set foot in my life. The food is great and the tables are Diamond 8fts. The staff is very attentive and the owners could not be nicer. They are pool players so they get it.

Super nice pool hall in South Austin. Lots of 8ft diamonds. Lots of space. Great staff and owners. Its where I take people for my pool lessons on Airbnb. Just Google lessons with a pool hustler.

Balls are never clean. Owners are so cheap they dont have a ball cleaning machine like a normal pool hall, and make the staff try to clean them by hand. Probably never vacuum them. They must be toxic to tournament directors because they dont run weekly tournaments anymore after being open less than a year. Seems they try to force people to use jukebox so many times its quiet and boring. Sad because the place has so much potential.

Was there a couple of weeks ago, the bartender completely ignored us , he wasnt serving other customers he just never acknowledged us that we were there I finally got his attn. and when I asked him why it took him so long to come to us he got mad and refused to serve us. Will not be going back.

A little dark...lots of good pool tables to play.. but when looking for a bridge.. they were all by the bathroom in a trash can...hmmmm N food was so so..ordered 2 basic burgers. . Not enough burger for 12 dollars each... just saying...n it was free pool Monday... that was good. Otherwise. So so place...

Great tables! Everything is still very fresh and new. Staff was also very nice. Unfortunately the liquor license is only until midnight, but they do stay open until 2. Hopefully this will change soon but we all know that TABC is full of d-bags.

The very nice tables do not make up for the short comings. I really wanted to like this place but will not be going back if I can help it. Some of it is due to going on a league night, but most is not. It is echoey loud due to the lack of decor (some noise cancelling panels in the ceiling would do wonders). There are also unfinished areas. I know this place just opened and all but, really? It was crowded and cramped on the few public tables they had. There was also a lack of seating and tables for personal affects. I counted 1 - 2 x 3 table with 2 chairs for every 2 public tables. There were stools not being used in the league areas (just saying). Also, where the league players were sitting made certain shots impossible and the players could not be bothered to move (yeah, real welcoming). This really made it impossible to relax and enjoy ourselves. The table lights NEED COVERS!!!!!! I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH! Not a great experience to be blinded by EVERY table light in the place if you are not looking down. Everything is served in a can, bottle, or disposable plastic cup. Really rounds out that hole in the wall feel. Even the entrance could use some love, it felt like walking into an inner city boys and girls club. We were told it was $15/hour but there was a sign behind the person that stated it was $14/hour from 7 to 11. We got there around 8. Small thing but maybe learn your own pricing or update your signs? It took an hour before any wait staff came around. By that time we had enough and were playing 1 last rack before leaving. Really hope they can pull this place around. If they do I would be willing to give them another shot and revise my review. Until then, there are plenty of other places where I dont feel like I am compromising so much just to play on some 8 Diamond tables.
