Where in Deep Ellum can you find the most friendly customer service, great tasting food and some top notch live music? Nowhere other than St. Petes Dancing Marlin! Kudos to the manager and staff for an all around great establishment. This is THE place for Dallasites to go when in the area.

Let s just start by saying how wonderful the staff is Pete keep doing what you re doing man. The food was also a 1000000/10. Hell I can t wait to go back and try everything on the menu. Now what really got me is the good choice of music youcan t go wrong with a Little Rock and country mix. Atmosphere is very warm and cozy.. if I could give it a color it would be orange yellow reddish hue.. felt like I was at home around a fire with friends lol. Also love the decor .. I took my 3 year old son and he had blast naming all the fishes on the wall. Kid-friendliness: It wasn t packed .. but we did go at 5:00pm on a Tuesday. Not sure about night life. But it was spacious enough for stroller , music wasn t too loud and the decor was tasteful.

I took my daughter to St. Petes on Saturday 7/13 for our first mom and grown daughter only lunch. We both had the pasta it was delicious. The customer service was excellent. I wish I could remember our servers name. She was wonderful. If you want great food, great service and very nice atmosphere. Let me please recommend St. Petes Dancing Blue Marlin. I had the Penne with Alfredo sauce and chicken. My daughter had Penne with meat balls. I forgot what kind of sauce. But let me tell you it was so good. She kept saying how delicious it was. I know mine was delicious. I truly wished I was at home eating it. I really wanted to get down, hahaha I forgot to mention the salad was so good as well. It so hard to find great customer service and great food. But look no further. St. Petes is the place. She is already wanting to go back.... Thank you for such a special memory and great food. She is still talking about the rolls...I guess I will have to order some to go, hahaha -Debbie Lewis-Washington

Came in on Saturday night, minutes before kitchen closing time. Food was served very promptly, tasted good at the time.... until later that night. My roomate woke up around 4 am puking his head off and was laid up all day on Sunday because of it. Seems like by Monday he was well enough to go to work and was able to eat again. Then I got sick that night myself, same thing with throwing up and extreme diarrhea. It is Thursday and I am still experiencing the diarrhea, no vomiting, only that first night. I am sharing this to see if anyone else experienced this as well because I feel some unsafe practices are being done back there in the kitchen. Of course Im not implying by any means that it is done on purpose, but it is no coincidence that my roomate and I both got extremely sick from eating here on Saturday night, and we didnt share so much as an appetizer. The only thing that we both had that was the same was the glass of tap water that they serve, as most establishments do. I hope this comment makes its way to management and they re-emphasize to all staff handling food the importance of washing their hands after using the restroom

Just happened to find this place as we got off the hop-on, hop-off bus a couple of blocks away. Without a doubt, the yellowfin tuna fish tacos were the best Ive ever had. Perfectly cooked and a very large portion. My wife took hers back to the hotel for dinner. Great beer selection . Not crowded on at Saturday afternoon. Wish we had more to explore Deep Ellum as the mural art and eclectic businesses look like a lot of fun.

Loved St. Pete s Dancing Marlin. 1st time dining here. We were attending Deep Ellum Art Co. to see Mike Doughty perform. So my husband said he found a great place for us to have dinner before the show. I went on the website to check out the menu & reviews, everything sounded & looked wonderful! Such an array of food, lots of choices. Well from the moment we walked in, and Travis, the bartender smiling greeting us, told us to sit wherever we wanted. I loved the entire vibe and decor of St.Pete s. We sat down & in minutes our server was greeting us, Alexis, can t say enough about her. She was so friendly, engaging, told us we could still get Happy Hour drinks and apps. She suggested wonderful choices. We started with a 1/2 order of the nachos that were wonderful! I was looking at all of the many selections on the menu, & Alexis mentioned to check out the pastas, they are really great. I immediately went to the pasta choices, pick your pasta, sauce & protein to add. Loved that option. I had Angel hair pasta in A La Vicki (Pete s version of Alfredo sauce) with shrimp. The shrimp were plentiful and big, the sauce was a light Alfredo, not heavy, with wonderful flavor, & large portions, took home leftovers. She told us about the wonderful desserts, especially the sheet cake, that Pete makes himself. We were so full, so had to pass. Alexis was so accommodating, we enjoyed chatting with her, very personable. In our way back from The Art Co. we decided to go back to St.Pete s for a night cap and some of Pete s sheet cake topped with ice cream. It did not disappoint! Delicious! Alexis, the other server, both of these ladies were working so hard with a smile and tag teaming to help each other. We talked to Travis on our way out, who was super friendly & assured him we would be back. I can t say enough about St. Pete s. Food, service, atmosphere, all were excellent. I highly recommend St.Pete s! We will be back! 5 stars!

We went down to Dallas on a spur of the moment trip & stopped into St. Pete s to eat on a Sunday evening. The entire area was super busy, and we were worried about being able to sit and eat somewhere. Thankfully, we were able to be seated and eat super quickly! The wait staff was super sweet & quick with our orders. The drinks were cold, the fish was hot :) I ordered the fish & chips and it was delicious. My husband ordered the tuna crostini & the kiddo got the grilled cheese kids meal. Everything was delicious and came out perfectly. We loved it and will definitely come back. Dietary restrictions: Everything is customizable to what you ask for. Parking: Parking is super tough on the weekends. We ended up having to park almost 4 blocks away because the area was so so busy. Definitely plan for a walk if you don t have a handicap placard. Kid-friendliness: They had a kids menu & were super accommodating.

We had sat down at the patio (only ones on the patio or inside the restaurant) looking at the menu when the angry gentleman working said we couldnt sit here without ordering. Long story short the food here is overpriced and not very good, too many better options In deep ellum. This would be my last choice. And the wifi has way too many problems going on with it. Overall my least favorite spot in all of deep ellum! Kid-friendliness: Not friendly

I only purchased a salad, which tasted pretty good. There is no diversity and I noticed that the bartender not only checked on the folks that looked like him regularly, but he acknowledged and greeted them when they walked thru the door. I, on the other hand, walked in, went to the restroom, found a seat at the bar and was finally able to flag him down after sitting for a while. When he finally addressed me, he was very nice, he just didnt seem to have much interest in serving me. I wouldnt recommend unless youre fine feeling as if youre tolerated as opposed to welcomed.

An anchor of Deep Ellum for decades, St. Pete s offers great value and a full kitchen that takes bar food up a notch. Service is always fast and friendly. The best protein by far is the sushi-grade tuna steak, making a sandwich or salad with house Greek vinaigrette simply divine. But you can t go wrong with a burger, pasta, or pizza, and fried appetizers or sides. A great place to watch a game or enjoy drinks. The interior is dark wood with most every surface covered with fishing memorabilia and beer signs. The patio is bright and sunny with a great view of pedestrian life on Commerce.

I tried the cornmeal crusted catfish which was pretty good, tater tots with it were good. Decent wings on the apps menu. The steak fingers not so good - just a weird dish but my partner was curious to try them. The skinny margarita (aka doesn t have all the simple syrup or sweet and sour mix) was actually quite good, enjoyed that. Not necessarily a place I would be craving to come back for the food but I heard their catering food is great but I would come back for the atmosphere or if you re with people who are picky eaters and prefer something simple.

Called to see if they had room and they had the tables set up for our party of seven when I didn t even ask, it was just ready upon arrival. Even though they were understaffed, we were greeted right away and got our drinks just as quick. Salads came out in just a few minutes, and entrees not long after that. Portions were HUGE, biggest of our whole Dallas trip, as we are from NC. I would recommend to anyone!! They have a variety of food and a wonderful ambiance. I ordered the tuna steak, rare. One of the best tuna steaks I have had, cooked perfectly and came w a large side ceaser salad with housemade dressing and a portion of pasta that was larger than the entree I had at a different place last night. Our table also ordered the fish and chips, steak fingers and wings, all equally as good!!!!

Excellent location, great venue, a lot of props everywhere, food tastes great and friendly staff... the only BUT is that i ordered Chicken Fried Steak and they brought me Chicken Fried Tuna Steak instead.... it could had been a perfect visit, however i spent it wondering whether i should ask the waiter to fix the error or not... my wife advised me not to do it (she quoted someone else saying you should never have an argument with someone who is preparing or serving your meal)... the Tuna Steak tasted good, but that was NOT what i ordered... did i mention that the staff is friendly? Ultimately i didnt have the heart to ask the waiter to fix the error... however if he had fullfiled my order right, we would had had dessert, but we didnt because we were not on the proper mod after this mistake. I guess we will visit this place again, however next time ill ask the waiter to repeat to me my order, just to be sure he got it right.

Its hard to beat St. Petes food quality in Deep Ellum! Hands down a critical hit for service, selection and on top of that a local favorite. Its great seeing an owner of a business working on a regular basis taking pride in their restaurant. If you are looking for drinks they have stouts to seltzers draft to bottle. Great vibe, inside and outside patio. Family owned which is something you see less and less nowadays. All the fish on the wall caught by Pete which is pretty wild!

What a fun place. My wife and I were in Dallas and decided to go out to Deep Ellum. We came across the Dancing Marlin. The atmosphere is cozy and the decorations are very eclectic. Apparently they are known for their seafood. I had the Chicken Fried Tuna and my my wife had the Tuna Tacos. At first I was a little leary about fried tuna steak. Wow! It was great. I was concerned that it would be over cooked and dried out. Thus was not the case. The steak was crispy on the outside and moist and pink in the middle. Great! The fish Tacos were also very tasty. The fish in the Tacos were also very moist and cooked perfectly. This is a fun place to visit.

With all the great reviews, my partner was expecting something with a sort of classier ambience and almost turned around when we first came in. Glad we didnt. Its a nice sort of hybrid of dive bar and neighborhood bistro, with old wood floors, a long bar, and low lights (and a patio by the street with picnic tables). Relatively quiet compared to the flashier places around there, which suited us fine.. I had the chicken-fried tuna coz Id never heard of such a thing. Excellent. And my partner had the fish and chips which had a rich kind of malty beer batter. Wed read that Petes baklava was excellent and were disappointed that it wasnt available until we tasted Petes chocolate cake. So good! Our server, Rachel, was top notch and made sure everything was right. She was also genuinely friendly. Great place. Well be back.

I absolutely LOVE Pete s! Their drinks are really good and they have such a wide variety of food. The appetizers/shareables are great if you re coming for a Happy Hour, and their dinner selections are great if you re looking for a full meal. I would highly recommend the Tuna Crustinis appetizer. The burgers are so delicious. I typically get any of the pasta dishes. The pasta is a HUGE portion and definitely worth the value since they have a ton of different sauces. Also - try the Blue Martin Tini which has bleu cheese stuffed olives. Amazing!! All of the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Plus, there s free parking in the back which is rare in the area. The covered patio is very spacious and perfect for people who are more wary of covid to spread out. Literally no complaints except for some items are a little bit pricey in my opinion, but for Deep Ellum, it s honestly pretty cheap since everything is so expensive there.
