I love Pease Park. The Shoal Creek Greenbelt Trail, for me, has its pros and cons. A section on the west side has been in disrepair for a good while, but the paths are often shady and you get moments among jagged the limestone walls. Overall its a nice walk if you can stay off the East side of the trail hugging Lamar and exhaust fumes. When Im in the area it works just fine, and if I lived here in the area Id use the trail often, but if Im driving to a trail for a nice nature-filled hike, there are several Id prefer to visit if Im not also visiting Pease Park.

Wouldnt recommend leaving your vehicle here in the evening. Had to replace three windows that were smashed after sunset mid April 24. Well be parking near House Park or Kingsbury Commons if we come back to Pease Park at dusk.

We hike this trail a couple of times a week. Family and dog friendly it is hilly and mostly off road. Can be crowded on nice weekends. Not strenuous, but our 3 mile hikes are good exercise. Dog-friendliness: A significant stretch is off leash and there does not seem to be any problem.

Good Evening Everyone! Ive endured a lot, I am going through a lot. I continue to find Peace Of Mind, walking & taking pictures. I havent had the opportunity to really walk Shoal Greek but, from what I saw...its going to be....Amazing. Please Spread LOVE, not hate. Together We Are A Better Race: Of Human Beings. These are not of Shoal Creek....I have pain to sort through, hundreds of pics. A lot of walking. I will do better. Peace

We walked the northern part of the trail since the southern part was closed off. Its a good trail system but nothing out of the ordinary. Creek water was mostly stagnant and covered in algae. Didnt see any rest room or water spots. There are much better trails if youre driving from far.

Loved to walk from 38th Street all the way down to Ladybird lake. However it needs a lot of help. A part of it has to be closed because of a landslide, other parts needs to be worked on so one can pass easily and one part you have to walk in the street because there is no trail.

Lovely walking trails with fun places to walk over the creek. The trail is paved differently in different areas: some dirt, some concrete, some gravel, some asphalt. I wouldn t consider this wheelchair accessible because there are quite a few bumps and potholes in the asphalt. I love how there are trash cans throughout the trail and doggy waste stations. Some of the trails were closed due to damaged but we still had fun on our family walk! My kids used their razor scooters on most of the trail and had a good time.

Was one of Austins great bike rides until the section just north of 24th street was covered by a landslide. When combined with the Shoal Creek Blvd bike lanes starting at Anderson Lane it is a great ride ending at the Colorado River trails. Southbound is easier since its a gentle slope down to the river. Come on city repair the trail!

Shoal Creek Trail off N Lamar Blvd is underrated in my opinion. The entrance near 31st is my favorite hidden gem and I frequently go in walks starting there to quickly get away from city noise. The trail goes all the way to Town Lake, so its possible to take it straight downtown and spend an entire afternoon walking.

Trail section north of 24th St is detoured due to hillside subsidence. Rock stairs at creek edge provide a means to cross when low water flows. Continuing north to W 31st St has improved with clean up and park services management.

Gorgeous park with off leash area for dogs, trees for hammocks, the creek and creek beds to explore, a large paved trail as well as small footpaths leading to the creek and other beautiful little areas. Lots of picnic tables and a few benches. Mixed in with lots of mature trees is a conservation project of newly planted trees. Pease Park is closed for upgrade or revitalization but everything around it is open. Parking available on and off street. Yet another little slice of heaven in this crazy little city, which literally has endless parks, trails and creeks to explore. I Austin and really hope we can all share and preserve it. I drive 15+ min to get here now since I now live as far NW as the Austin city limits go, due to gentrification. I ve been priced out of my normal Austin neighborhoods several times over the years and pushed further and further (and further) out and away from who and what I know due to skyrocketing rent prices. However, when I m in the parks and on the trails, I still feel like there s hope. It s still Austin and still my home.

I has an ample parking space and has an attached dog park. You can also bring your kids to the trail and have a walk. Right now the trail is very hot and dry in summer but i feel the streams will be flowing once the rain showers fall over. Kick off your couch and hit a trail. #HappyTrailing
