It is pretty but they do not keep up with the garden. A lot of it is dying from lack of water. Also there are no peacocks anymore :(

I normally have a good time here always but today I didn t have a good experience. I was sitting on the bench after viewing the pond and I noticed a city of Austin worker coming where I was at and he was standing there for about 10 minutes or so. Then he out of nowhere turned the sprinkler on that sprayed me right in my face. He knew that I was sitting there prior to turning on the sprinklers. He tried to play it off as a mistake. I don t believe it was a mistake. Being that there wasn t many people there. It s a shame as a black woman there s not any safe place for you to visit without being harassed or embarrassed. After that happened I realized that it wasn t safe for me to be there. As soon as I left. I noticed he began walking back to his truck city of Austin vehicle . But as long as I was sitting on the bench he was there the entire time. I have pictures and his license plates. I m following through with a complaint. As a city of Austin worker you need to be careful of your job servicing the public. Some type of action must be taken against this employee.

Theyve got some very nice walking trails. I wish theyd had a physical map for it though. We enjoyed walking around, taking pictures of peacocks. We saw many types of trees including a Mexican Plum tree. Love the little ponds with the fishes.

Our visit to Austin was so hot this time, but we hit this beautiful estate as early as we could. It was very relaxing and peaceful. Beautiful lily ponds along with lots of pond friends, snakes, frogs, little fish, etc. The squirrels and peacocks were quite amusing, and some lovely walks we would like to attempt in cooler weather. Great place. A lot we didnt get to see, so we must go again.

A wildlife oasis in the center of Austin s ever expanding suburbs. These last remaining pockets of forest continue to be essential for wildlife and native species as human activity increases in the city. This park is relatively small but has many trails to find quiet spots. The Mayfield House is open to public but also hosts weddings and ceremonies. There are many wild flowers in bloom and the temperatures here are often a few degrees less than the surrounding city. Onsite day use parking and portable toilets. Be peaceful, respect the local wildlife and please for heavens sake do not litter.
