David Gottfried is an outstanding attorney. We have used his services for over 30 years. We have had all kinds of issues he has resolved successfully. Whether it was an employee who tried to take clients away from our firm after quitting, or a client who stopped paying for a horse, or a company who refused to pay what was owed, and most recently an investment company who mishandled the investment- David Gottfried has solved the problem. Beyond being the best attorney, he is an outstanding human being. Ask yourself how many attorneys you can say that about. I cannot say enough good things about David or his firm.

Used this firm last year that claimed to specialize in STR licensing. It felt more like an uncle that has his own Airbnb giving advice. Mixing up 101 fundamentals on the laws ie. Type 1 and 2 almost to the extent I wad educating him. I m glad my business partner wasn t on the call because that was poor due diligence and embarrassing. He rushed me off the call within 45 minutes. Then followup was weak.

Meghan walked us through our second parent adoption and referred us to a social worker that would help us too! Talking with her during the initial consultation was easy and very natural! She never made us feel rushed and always answered honestly! My wife and I loved Meghan and her team!! They made sure to make us feel heard and always available to us when we need them! They treated us with respect and made us feel very comfortable and confident in them! We will most definitely use her again in the future!! Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. We just completed our second second parent adoption. The first was this Suzanne Bryant (an absolute rockstar) but between our kids she retired from adoption proceedings and recommended Meghan. Despite having big shoes to fill, Meghan and her team were flawless. They made a potentially onerous task a breeze, completing our adoption less than two months after our babe was born. Additionally, Meghan kindly advised us on getting all of the necessary estate planning docs (not just wills) in order to protect our LGBT family no matter what happens in the political climate. I cannot recommend Meghan and her team enough!

What an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! We used Meghan for our adoption and the amount of service and support we received was one of a kind. We reached out to several lawyers and we knew the moment we had the phone consult with Meghan, this was the team we wanted to work with. They worked with us financially on all aspects, gave us a great referral for our social worker and were on top of the entire process. I always have a lot of questions and every time I did and emailed them, they were fast responding, great communicating and I knew exactly where we were and what the next step was throughout the entire process. Gottfried Alexander Law Firm, in my experience (over the potential legal issues I faced over the past several years) provided absolutely brilliant advice and counsel and helped work through the stresses involved in being sued by money-hungry unscrupulous individuals. They guided and explained thoughout the entire process and made key moves during the proceedings that avoided unnecessary legal fees and courtroom time. This saved considerable funds over the course of the lawsuit. The research performed was exceptional. They looked at every angle and insured we were positioned for advantage at every turn and there were many. In the end, we were able to limit our legal fees and the case was dropped due to Gottfrieds knowledge of the law and great experience in handling these suits. Its great to know there are lawyers of this caliber and ethical standard in Austin, Texas.

When my husband and I found ourselves hoodwinked in a home purchase, we did not know where to turn. We felt punched in the gut, angry, hopeless and a bit stupid. Our heads were spinning and we didn t know where to turn. David Gottfried was recommended to us, so we called and he agreed to take our case. We d never been in a situation like this before and were very stressed and had a million questions throughout the whole process. To us every moment, everyday was an eternity, but the lawsuit was actually concluded in our favor in a relatively short amount of time, especially considering the climate these days. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and responsive attorney I recommend David Gottfried. He helped me navigate a David vs. Goliath dispute -- alas I was David. Ben provided expert counsel and education. He listened and helped me understand different options I could pursue. Leveraging his experience he deftly worked with me to properly set my expectations. I enlisted Meghan Alexander of the Gottfired Firm as my divorce attorney based on recommendations from some women I knew. She answered my questions in the beginning, and I decided to go with an uncontested divorce, which seemed like the least painful option. These types of divorces are particularly hands-off from the attorney, which I understood, and I was prepared to have minimal contact with her. However, she seemed to miss some pretty important aspects of the process, and when I would check in with questions, her aim seemed to be to remind me that I was unimportant to her book of business. The onus was on me to ask about deadlines or processes, and when I did check in, she would tell me she was very busy -- too busy to handle my issues, apparently (unless it was an invoice!). Also, the advice she did give me seemed poorly considered and sloppy. For instance, she advised me that I didnt need to include my house in the divorce decree because my husband wasnt going to contest my ownership of it; however, he did sign paperwork for it when we bought it, and I learned on my own that I would have to get him to relinquish rights to it. I had to ask my title company what they would want to ensure he has no claim to the property. They told me a warranty deed would do the trick. I then had to pay Meghan an extra fee to create that warranty deed. She also didnt tell me that I needed to have my ex-husband sign the paperwork in-person (a wet signature) and have it notarized. I had to hire the notary myself and organize the meeting; she still hasnt told me what to do with the paperwork once its signed. Also, my divorce was finalized nearly a month ago and the clerk didnt tell her, which I understand, since everyone is so busy. However, I would not have found out I was officially divorced if I hadnt asked Meghan what was taking so long, prompting her to ping the clerk. I have to file benefits changes within 30 days of the life change event, which means I was very close to having my ex-husband on my benefits for the rest of the year until open enrollment. Overall, Meghan seems competent, but she just didnt find my case important enough to give it any thought or concern. I dont think I would recommend this firm unless youve gone through a divorce before and dont need any help or interaction with your attorney. I almost feel like I could have done some Googling and handled the divorce myself.

We recently used The Gottfried law firm for a real estate/builder issue. It was much longer and more frustrating process than we could have ever imagined but we could not have been happier to have David and Tara on our side. Front our very first meeting they were 100% honest and accountable at all times even when we didnt want to hear the news they were delivering at some points. They took the time to explain the reasoning behind their actions and requests. They always kept us pointed in the right direction even when our personal feelings started to take us a little off track. We worked with Tara Gillespie a lot and could not have been happier with her responsiveness and attention to detail. While we hope to never have to work with them again if it should happen they would be our first choice.
