Look, none of us ever wants to deal with the legal system. If youre looking at this review, youre obviously considering a criminal defense attorney. We all screw up - and if you ever ask yourself do I need an attorney? the answer is always I needed one yesterday. In my own experience, Mr. Lim was fantastic for my case. I will say neither of us ever considered going to a jury trial. Im sure hes beyond qualified, but for me, that would have been a losing proposition. We discussed the ups and downs of the offers on the table for my case, settled on one, and ran with it. And it worked. I will say, dont ever hire an attorney that promises specific outcomes. Hire one that can tell you what their previous experience is with similar cases, expect them to prepare you for the worst, hope for the best, and you should be prepared to be met somewhere between that. In my case, given my cases exact circumstances, I feel as if Mr. Lim did a damned good job. He knows his way around the courthouse, at least in Williamson (and I assume Hays and Travis as well). I was a very high maintenance client that couldnt do anything right while out on bond, yet he still did a fantastic job in my case. Its not a Disney ending, but Im not a Disney character either. Obviously I hope I never need his services again, but if I do, hell be my first call (sorry). Mr. Lim obviously takes every clients situation very personally, and works hard to get a good outcome. Pretty reasonable pricing as well. Highly recommend.

We found Eric after researching attorneys in the area that were successful in having charges dropped for people who were wrongfully accused and arrested. Eric was very easy to keep in contact with. When I called him, I spoke to him. Not a messaging service that never really gets anything done. He was knowledgeable and attentive. In November of 2020, the unthinkable happened. I was arrested for a DWI. Never in my life had I had any issues with the law. I was always a straight-laced, straight-A student. I spent the weekend in jail and was terrified. When I was finally released in the early hours of a Sunday morning, I was scared, disoriented, tired, and beaten down. The first thing I knew to do was secure an attorney, but how was I to afford one? I never needed an attorney before, and I had barely just started a new job that allowed me any extra income. I searched for affordable attorney on Google, and Thumbtack came back with Mr. Lim. I immediately sent a request to connect with him. I remember feeling so hungry and cold and just wanting a meal and a shower. That same day, after a long nap, I received a phone call. Mr. Lim was so kind, warm, and funny. I was immediately put at ease with my situation. I explained what happened and he seemed confident and sure that he could get me taken care of. I remember being so distraught and disoriented, but still laughing at a story he told me. But the most important part for me was that he allowed me to enter into a payment plan with him. It really pained me to have an extra monthly expense, but the fact he was flexible and understanding made me realize I had made a good choice. My case dragged on for almost two years due to the pandemic. It was a painful, excruciating, and scary time for me. Mr. Lim was communicative and patient with my questions and concerns. We went months without contact, simply because there was nothing to report. It was unnerving, but I knew I was in good hands. We periodically communicated with instructions for actions for me to take. I dropped everything when I heard from Mr. Lim, so I recommend that you work as hard as he does in your case! When things started accelerating forward, Mr. Lim was professional, direct and knowledgeable. I definitely felt silly with some of my questions and concerns, but he always responded promptly and thoroughly. While my case is not indicative of what may happen with you, I do want to share that my DWI charge was dropped down to speeding. Mr. Lim works hard and gets the job done. He will advocate for and support you as long as you are doing what he asks and also taking your case personally, honestly, and seriously. You will need to do work on your end if you expect him to work hard for you. It is definitely a two-way road. I cannot express enough my appreciation and gratitude for Mr. Lim. I understand he s not part of one of the big organizations and you might have to search a bit to find him but trust me; he s your guy. Affordable, understanding, kind, and experienced. Beyond amazing! I was just calling around for consultations and Eric was quick to respond to me, even though Im certain he was busy at the time. I have no idea how any of these processes work, Ive never been in trouble before. Eric is so kind and honest. When he called me, he was so pleased to tell me that my case had been dismissed. Mr.Lim is my first hired represenative and he set the bar pretty damn high I was dealing with two seperate cases one with travis county and williamson county two seperate cases same charges, he was very patient as well when it came to me getting everything i needed to get my cases dissmissed whether it be payments/Classes/UAs he is very flexible which was very helpful and handeled everything professionaly, This is the type of guy you want representing you at all times 10/10

I had a great experience with Mr. Lim representing me. I was charged with felony possession and two misdemeanors and all were dismissed. He always had my best interests first and convinced me to follow through with a plan that I was originally hesitant about. Originally, we had planned to go through with a pre-trial diversion program that would get the charges dismissed if I followed through with community service and an intensive outpatient chemical dependency program, and a theft education class. It ended up that I would not qualify for the program, yet Mr. Lim was still able to work out essentially the same deal with the prosecutor. Mr. Lim was always very approachable and very responsive to any questions that I had. He was very good about keeping me informed about updates and reminding me about court dates. I highly recommend Mr. Lim.

With my prior Attorney, I took a bad deal, went on probation and was looking at serious time. Mr. Lim used his knowledge to get things straightened out and later expunged. He always responded to my calls and emails very quickly. I cant say that about the other attorney. I owe my freedom and future to this extremely competent Attorney. He provided Real World expectations, options and made me very comfortable. I would hire him again but that isnt going to happen as I wont be in trouble. I cannot tell you reading this how elated I am that I called Eric Lim. Here s what happened, I had a legal issue go to court and I had a choice, either turn myself in to the authorities or hire an attorney, I called Eric and a few others, he was the first one to get back to me and reviewed my case before we even spoke. He took the case and within 18 hours, he sent me a note that said he got my case dismissed! Yes, 18 hours!!!!! Can not recommend this guy enough, if you need an attorney in Austin, call Eric immediately! Best choice I could have ever made!

Awesome attorney. A friend who has benn in and out of a large number of legal affairs highly recommended him. Eric went ahead and took on two cases for me. The first was able to be dismissed and we are still working through the second. For being completely ignorant and worried as a young mother going through a divorce.. he has brought a lot of peace and easiness with the stress of all this legal material. He is punctional with responding, truly knows his facts and breaks things down to a simple level that I can easily understand and follow.
