Very unprofessional business. We had the cowboy burlesque scheduled for months in advance just for it to be canceled WITH NO NOTIFICATION. They claimed they sent an email, but it was never found, even in junk mail. They could have easily called us or realized that an entire part of TWELVE didn t happen to show up to the rescheduled time that they decided to do the night before the original time. It was MY BACHELORETTE PARTY that they ruined my most anticipated event of. I was so sad I almost cried, but coyote ugly made up for it. Edit since I can t reply: this reply shows your unprofessionalism itself to come after my friend like that. An apology alone, like you started out with, would have been good and appreciated. A phone call to provide thorough and better communication would have been even better and all of this could have been prevented, but it s over now and all we can do is choose to do better next time.

Love this place, I drive from an hour away every Sunday! Unfortunately I misplaced my id and got a paper one from the dmv. They were even willing to accept an expired ID but unfortunately they took mine at the DVM. Every place on red river accepted the paper, except creek. Matt at the door turned us away and shut us down when we tried to explain the situation. I look forward to seeing these comedians and supporting local businesses every week, but this last interaction left a bad taste in my mouth (only reason I m leaving 4 stars). The bartender sitting next to us with his dog even recognized us and said hi! I m upset that we had to go spend our time elsewhere!

I have been to about 4 comedy establishments in Austin and I would tell people to pick any one because they are all good. But I can no longer say that because I came to this place. I enjoyed a few comics but read the bad reviews they are the truth about this place. Some people who got on stage had no comedic skill or energy at all. Basically they have no more funny left in them. And the others who did have the skills must have their friends doing these good reviews. Because this many good reviews is insane and questionable after actually experiencing this place. Either the bad ones gotta go or the good ones need to move to another establishment because the bad apples will spoil the bunch. Maybe I m spoiled by quality shows all over Austin. Or maybe there is no way around the facts and it is what it is. Mehhhh maybe 1 and a half stars because at least 2 comics did great. Don t just let anyone perform. Unless it s open mic because this is the result. If you don t got the skills to talk to the crowd don t do it. Also if the crowd is harnessing and influencing laughter and joy respectfully by participating when asked questions. Take it as it is and don t act like you are being paid by laughs. Act like your getting paid to do this and like you enjoy what you do even if your not.

Liked the venue. Dont go to comedy clubs much. A different place smells heavily of cigarette smoke but this one has more of a weed smell. I think thats easier to take than the cigarette smell. Restrooms were clean. Saw a variety of comedians the night we went where they each had 5-10 mins. Glad I tried it. Would go back for specific comedians with a little more life experience and content to joke about. The people we saw seemed mostly to be in the learning phase still and it seemed all of them wanted to talk about the weed they smoked. Not offensive to me but got old.

It was my first time there and I didn t know what to expect for the venue or the show. The venue is really fun with great energy and the show, Good Session, made me laugh out loud a lot on a Sunday night. Good Session combined funny topics from the audience, a great host, a really funny and engaging panel of comedians and spontaneous and hysterical audience participation. I highly recommend the show and you must bring friends!

I ll preface this review with the fact that the club itself was clean and the staff were great. I cannot say the same for the comics, however. We had really high hopes for this spot based on reviews, and left disappointed (and early). Maybe we got a particular batch of offensive comedians, but most of them were men making jokes at the expense of women, sex workers, people of color, gay folks, and children. I ve been to several comedy shows and am not naive that jokes are usually made at the expense of others, but this was too much.

The chairs were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in. The bigger problem though is that you can pay for VIP seating and still end up with an obstructed view (which luckily I got a non vip seat with non obstructed view but after seeing that I wouldn t even try to pay extra for vip or even come back to this venue frankly). They also make you stand and wait outside 15 minutes after the show is supposed to start. Very disorganized venue.

Ive been to this place and had a good time. But I have recently become frustrated with them. I had RSVP to an event during SxSW, I believe it was the Irish or Scottish house thing. We went and waited in quite a long line and I had three friends with me. After asking my friends to wait in the line, they did not honor our RSVPs. The door person simply said, were not taking those anymore and they were accepting only official SxSW badges. The place did not seem to be packed and there did not seem to be a good reason for that response. Had they come out to the line while folks were waiting and said hey, were no longer taking RSVPs, we would not have wasted 20 minutes of our evening when we could have been doing something a lot more fun. Really frustrating, especially coming from a relatively new, recently rebranded, venue that should be kinder to Austin locals. I do understand this is during SxSW and its a complicated time, but some notification would have been nice.

Purchased tickets for The Most Expensive Joke show. The talent was atrocious alongside the host of the show. Prior to the show, we were reminded of no heckling. By the end of the show, my family and I were called out four times by the comics and the host as their attempts at punch lines of jokes. Every comic and the host were bombing so badly that instead of focusing more effort on creating better material, they took the easy way out by focusing their incompetencies on the crowd for their jokes. Im all for having fun, thats why one attends a comedy show, but the lack of talent and even poorer execution of last minute attempts to poke fun at the crowd is the reason to definitely pass on this comedy club. The show was being filmed and we were asked multiple times to sit in the first two rows of seating because they couldnt sell enough tickets for the show to have the venue appear to have a full audience. What a waste of money and even more so, our time.

5 stars because I had a blast watching Jessica Kirson et al!! Standing ovation actually and I havent been to a comedy show that had one of those in a long time. Husbands margarita was ok he reports. Strong, actually, he said. I have some things I would improve though. I paid $10 for two plastic cups of ice with sticky bottoms, with a little bit of coca cola splashed on top. I would understand the $5 for a coke if the coke came with free refills, but getting a second coke and seeing $10 for two cokes on my receipt was a robbery it felt like. The bathroom was very dive bar. It was funny to see a toilet paper holder improperly installed with three screws on the outside of it. I guess it just goes with the 6th Street aesthetic. I didnt like that the whole place was basically on 6th St either. I didnt realize that when buying the tickets and we thought about not going maybe 5 times throughout the day! Had to do a lot of research to see if wed be ok with this getting out at 11:00 pm. The consensus was, and I agree with it, do not walk around alone if youre a woman. As a couple, I felt fine. I also saw women out in groups. Update: putting this at the end that I came down with a virus of some kind (negative covid test but ) after seeing a comedy show here. I was prepared for this but if youre immune compromised, just be aware of the lack of air circulation!! I have since recovered just fine.

This is the favorite haunt and late-night spot for local Austin comedians. Everyone finds a home at The Creek, and the world-class acts that this club attracts on the weekends are not to be missed. Rogan, Louis CK, Jessica Kirson, Nate Bargatze, Steph Tolev, Neal Brennan, Whitney Cummings, and many more have headlined here and walked its stage. Excellent local shows run every weeknight and on Sunday, comedian and civilian alike level the playing field at Austins best heckling show, Banana Phone. Kris and Kari the managers are the gold standard, as are the bartenders Zach, Staci, Morgan and Javier. Whether you catch a show or just stop in for a drink, The Creek and the Cave is a must-visit venue for any Austin comedy fan or tourist who wants to explore the Austin comedy scene. The Creek and the Cave moved from New York and opened its doors in Austin on 1 April 2021 and has been a gem in the scene ever since.

I have come to this place twice to see Nacho Redondo (school of nothing) and it has been excellent. The place is super comfortable and the outdoor area lends itself to having a much more enjoyable time. One detail that I think is great is the fact that they have speakers in the bathroom (so you never miss a single joke) the best comedy venue in SPANISH ATX

Excellent venue, attentive staff, and plenty of laughs! Not a lot of parking close to the door, so if its raining, Id recommend a ride share.

Came on Monday night and price was $15 when it advertised as $10. I was there earlier in the day and would have bought a $10 advance ticket if they had advertised anywhere that the door price would increase. Not cool at all. Place totally empty.., no wonder why

Saw Adrienne Iapalucci. She and her openers killed, and the room is great. Very attractive and comfortable lighting of the room and stage. The appearance of the room suits the Austin vibe, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This place is massively disappointing as a SX venue. Their staff just kept lining people up, pointing them into a line that was already FAR over the capacity of the entire venue. And then just let them stand around for more than an hour - with zero chance of getting in.

I got to see Joe Rogan do some live comedy at The Creek and the Cave. They used Yondr bags to secure our phones so there was no recording or pictures taken during the performance. You do get to hang onto your phone with the Yondr bag, so you have control of your device still. Drinks were average priced, and service was great. I would return to The Creek and the Cave, given the opportunity, and would recommend it to others as a venue for comedy shows.

Great stage and youll always see good comics on shows. The venue is terrible at telling you who the comics were after the show, which is not great for the comics who performed, especially the local ones trying to build a following. They also could stand to carry a better beer selection at the prices. The second and last comic on last Saturday the 28th at the 9 pm show were both outstanding, just have no idea who they were...

Venue was a bit low key but probably what youd expect at a location like this. My main issue is that the house guy/seater approached my wife in the middle of the final 10mins of jokes of the evening and told her she needed to control her outburst/laughter. I mean we were having lots of laughs for an hour and a half but something made this guy want to flex? I dont get it. Because of this, we wont come back here but Austin has plenty of other venues to support our up and coming comedy scene. To the grumpy guy who thought our laughter was out of control, relax man. Were the ones buying drinks, tickets, and attending your shows.

So fun! We saw Dulce Sloan and Lace Larrabee here and it was a great show. We came to the earlier show and street parking was easy. Its a cute, chill small venue with friendly staff and servers. We had the fries, which were super tasty (got a second serving bc they were so good). We definitely appreciate a small quality venue with great talent at reasonable prices (vs. spending 100s to see comedians at larger Austin venues). Planning to come back soon!
