Came here prior to dinner for a quick cocktail. It s supposed to be reservation only, but they were able to fit us in, because it wasn t too busy. They highly suggest the signature cocktails there s about 12 to choose from the cocktails are super unique. The bartender was very knowledgeable And helpful with the drink choices they have a couple complementary bar foods they serve with the drinks. Quiet and quaint little hidden bar and the heart of the city hidden inside the proper austin hotel. From 6-10am Goldie s turns into a coffee bar! The coffee was absolutely delicious!

Firstly, I love all things Kelly Wearstler, so I was excited to at the very least see this bar. Wearstler crushed the design for this bar. Its sexy, chic, warm, embracing and gender neutral with an edge. We came here after dinner, and were mesmerized by the decor initially. Only to then be excited by the delicious cocktails served here. The music was perfectly suited to the space and vibe. I will definitely return to enjoy high tea another day. Fantastic experience!

I went here with a friend for the tea service on Easter Sunday, which is booked for a two hour stint. Let s first talk about the atmosphere. It s a cute little place that has plush seating against the outer perimeter by the windows and comfy type of chairs that are upholstered quite nicely in plaid, however the plush seating, as well as the rotating chairs are sunken in too far and your hands don t reach the table. It would be better if there was a firmer cushion. Besides that the tables are too small to hold the teapot which shouldn t be on the table. There should be tea service on carts on either side of the room and there s plenty of space to do that if they would reupholster or re-Organize the sofa against the wall as it s too wide then there would be room for carts on either side where you could put the tea pots. Aside from that everything was pretty good, except for the cucumber sandwiches, which were almost tasteless and tasted more of butter than cucumber And not enough dill. On top of each cucumber sandwich of which they were two it was sliced carrots. I think that was yellow and the other one had purple carrot I think if you re going with two people, then everyone should have an even amount of and similar food and therefore either add two more finger sandwiches so that each person gets two purple and two yellow carrot toppings, or cut them in half. The teeny puff pastry filled with salmon, was delicious yet too salty. I believe it was lix and not Nova that was served. A small bread with a dollop of delicious egg salad topped with salmon. Roll was very nice and the desserts were delightful especially the Lindor made with apricot and the Madalin, which seem to have walnut filling. The teas were delicious. I had a Pantone blue tea which, when adding lime to it, turned it from blue to purple.

My sister surprised me with an afternoon tea at Goldie s! From the moment the door was pushed open for me .. I was just mesmerized by the elegance of this Bar. It felt cozy, intimate, and exclusive. Our waiter Fedor (I hope I got his name correctly) was exceptional. He had this very gentle soft spoken and heartwarming attitude throughout the entire experience! He just fit the vibe perfectly at Goldie s and we were so happy with his service. 10/10! I also wanted to thank him for accommodating my sisters raspberry allergy by giving her another jam to try on her scone. He didn t have to do that and it made her feel special.

My girlfriends and I do an afternoon tea almost every holiday season. This year we picked Goldie s and boy, it was not a disappointment. The service was impeccable. The waiter was extremely attentive. The food was wonderful- we had to get seconds of the cucumber sandwich and scones. Omg those scones and butter and crème fraiche and homemade jam were amazing. The downsides of the meal were cost of champagne and ambience. We paid $18 a glass for champagne and it was delicious but that s steep. And we had a great private corner of the room but the seats were hard to get out of- it s a deep couch almost and while beautiful, you sink in and it s hard to move. And my friend was seated on a stool with no backrest - she didn t complain but it s probably not comfortable to sit there for over 2 hours. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the experience.

Our visit to Goldie s at the Proper Hotel was an enchanting experience that left us utterly captivated. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed by an atmosphere that effortlessly combined elegance and comfort, making us feel right at home. What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional service provided by Hernan, Kevin, and Fedon. Their formidable attention to detail and genuine care transformed a simple evening into an unforgettable one. Their warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel like cherished friends, while their mastery of mixology resulted in cocktails that were nothing short of extraordinary. Hernan, Kevin, and Fedon didn t just serve us; they created an atmosphere of genuine hospitality that was both heartwarming and inspiring. Their passion for their craft and their commitment to making guests feel special is a rare gem in the world of dining experiences. The cocktails crafted by them were a true revelation. Their artistry and skill came through in each concoction, leaving us in awe of their ability to blend flavors in ways that felt both familiar and innovative. It was clear that their creations were more than drinks; they were expressions of their passion for mixology.

Drinks were strong, but pricey. AC was blasting (great for a summer night). They offer complimentary delicious bar snacks with your cocktail. A solid string nightcap. Bartender was consistent in recapping what to expect in the cocktail you ordered which helped understand the ingredient profile better. The name of the bar made me think it would be nautical/pirate themed dive bar but it was actually a really upscale hotel bar tucked away subtly near the lobby.

A really lovely spot on Sundays for tea and snacks. The bar is absolutely beautiful. That said, just for tea and snacks it s $65 per person and before you ask, no this doesn t include alcohol. I don t usually cringe at prices in austin as I tend to know what I m getting myself into, but I cringed a lot when I had to venmo my friends $65 for a few cups tea and tiny bites. Also, there s no music of any kind and it feels like you kind of have to whisper which kills the fun a bit.

Nicky made us the most amazing cocktails we ve ever had. Yes , this place is exclusive to hotel guests and residents, but that is a good thing. It s an added perk of staying or living at the hotel. The outside bar is just as amazing and open to the public. If you get the opportunity to stay or live at the Proper, make a reservation, you will LOVE it.

Phenomenal program - I was served not one, but two of the best, most balanced drinks I ve had in ages. The decor is stunning and the service is excellent, though I think we got lucky and accidentally crashed the residents/guests only bar as we ve heard from several local friends they couldn t get in?
