Everything was great. I like that each chicken item specifically mentions whether it is made with white or dark meat. I had chicken and broccoli and mom had pan fried noodles with the chicken, beef and shrimp combo. Both were a ton of food! Mine came with rice and it was easily 4 cups, in a separate, big bowl. The pan fried noodles weren t what we were expecting. They resembled long, pretzel sticks in taste and texture, but they were still tasty. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I wish we could ve gone more when my son worked there several years ago.

Used to love this place. However, its just gotten ridiculously expensive for Chinese food. I paid $9 for eight dumplings which is over a dollar per dumpling. Also ordered food to go and they didnt give me a fork. I pulled up to the park to eat some food and then realized I couldnt even eat it till I had to drive all the way home because I didnt have a fork in my to go order. Quality has gone down quite a bit. I also ordered sweet and sour sauce to go and they only filled up the cup halfway, really? Like come on. Dont order from here. I will not be going back.

I got my food delivered so I did not experience the atmosphere or service. That being said: Overall everything was Less than mediocre at best. Some of the food I ordered was sheer garbage. For example: I got the teriyaki chicken dish with fried rice. It looks like wet chicken in brown sludge. I did not want to eat it at all just from looking at it. I tried a piece of chicken and there was nothing teriyaki about it. It was not good at all. Over cooked chicken and that sauce was not teriyaki. It was terinasty. I put that the side. No thank you. I ordered the pu pu platter which looked like an absolute nightmare. Believe me, it tasted worse. Everything from the chicken wings to the eggs rolls to the fried crab Rangoon s was completely tasteless, over fried, over doughed. Just dough and more dough barely any filling. At times I was just eating fried flour. Just pieces of nothing fried. I have to admit, the most decent dish I ordered was the sesame chicken. That I was able to keep down without wanting to it was heavy on the fried and dough side. It was decent at best but even that was so sad. The fried rice was just as expected. Overcooked, completely tasteless, there is no love at all and you can taste it. Please understand I root for every restaurant when I order. I ordered from this one based on the reviews and stars. I was excited to order from you guys because I wanted a Chinese restaurant to order from weekly. I wanted to genuinely like the food but honestly I will never be ordering food from here again nor suggest others do. Even if you guys offered to let me eat for free for a duration of time, I would happily decline because I will not put this product in my body. Sorry for such a negative review it s not my intention but this is terrible.

I have been coming here for about 14 years and having moved from around Avery ranch I still travel back for some delicious Chinese food. I am extremely picky about my Chinese food and Hunan ranch has been consistently amazing. The service and staff are wonderful and prompt, my water never got below half of a glass. The food was very quick to come out and was fresh and hot when we received it. My personal favorites are the wonton soup and crab ragoons. The chicken fried rice and curry are my favorite entree dishes. I love this place and will always come back.

All the food was bland. The inside of the egg rolls were complete mush and tasted off. The wonton soup was dark and so I thought it would have a lot of flavor, but it tasted like water mixed with a tiny bit of chicken broth and some salt. The beef and broccoli was also bland but fixable with a couple dashes of soy sauce. The fried rice was decent.

We have been dining at Hunan Ranch several times over the past couple of years, and they are pretty good. However, on Sunday, 6/25/23, something tragic happened to me as I was eating here with my husband, mother, and brother! My husband and I ordered General Tsos chicken, requesting NO spice, to share. Our waitress appeared to be a new employee, who I had not seen before and spoke very little English. It tasted good, but after a few bites, my throat suddenly swelled up and felt like it was on fire! My brother saw the fear in my eyes and then asked if I was choking. I was scared because I could not breathe or speak at first. My husband told me to remain calm, while I was trying to keep from hyperventilating. I grabbed tea, kept drinking and finally was able to speak. My throat remained on fire for at least 10 minutes, and the burning sensation spread to my tongue and upper lip. The waitress was a bit busy and did not come to ask me what was wrong. She only came by to ask if we wanted more tea about 15 minutes later. I noticed that most of the staff were employees I had not seen before and were gathered in a group talking at the front center of the restaurant for several minutes. I would hate to think what would have happened to me if I was dining there by myself and was not approached by the staff for a long time after having such a violent reaction. My husband and brother said they ate something very hot which caused their mouths to burn for about 10 minutes, too. Maybe there were some hidden peppers that we did not see? Were they added to our meals by mistake? I have never had that happen to me in my 50+ years, and we had asked them not to add any spices to our meal. I refused to eat any more and now am afraid to eat here again, which is a shame since it is a nice restaurant near where we live. Eat here at your own risk!

My wifes chicken n snow peas, the chicken didnt seem cooked enough and the water chestnuts were spoiled, you could taste and smell they were spoiled. When I let the waiter know , he took the food and asked if she wanted anything else. My wife ordered 2 egg rolls. I thought they would take off the bad meal, but only took off half and charged for the egg rolls. Not very good customer service.

I am used to spicy Sichuan Chinese food, but Hunan Ranch served a mild, Americanized version of food. I ordered the mapo tofu and it came with tofu floating in a brown soup, with carrots and peas. Perhaps it is from a region in China Ive never been to. My wife, who is Chinese, ordered Hunan Beef and also commented it did not taste like Chinese food. I think many Americans will like Hunan Ranch, and the restaurant had many customers, but for me I prefer more authentic tasting Chinese food. Also, check your bill before paying. I didnt and we were charged for tea we didnt have, and the dinner prices were 40% higher than the menu price. We called to complain, and were told that was the lunch price. My opinion is dont show me lunch prices if youre going to charge me dinner prices.

Workers were almost running trying to get everyone s orders, drinks, seated etc. The food was slow to come out but we didn t mind because obviously this was a different situation due to it being a day when most places are closed. The Happy Family plate was really good and the fried rice was tender and flavored well. My husband ordered the Kung Pao chicken it has a lot of peanuts on it next time we will ask for no nuts. Rangoons are a little more on the sweeter side and the egg rolls were really good. I don t recommend the sweet tea it was just like sugar water there was hardly any actual tea in it. The employees were really friendly and definitely hard workers.

Was in the area and craving Chinese food and found this one nearby. Decided to give it a try since our favorite spot had closed their seating area during Covid and really wanted to sit down and enjoy our meal. The service was very good, friendly hostess and waiter. We ordered the steamed dumpling appetizer with the assumption that the main dishes may take a little longer. The main dishes actually ended up coming out first which was strange but a nice surprise, dumplings came out shortly after. Overall food was good, service was great, place looked ok but if your looking for a quick meal it s a good spot to stop by. The only thing is the menu is a little limited which can be a good thing or a bad thing but I m definitely used to seeing a few more classics on the menu that were not being made at this place.

First time trying this place. Went with several friends. We tried a lot of different entrees. The sesame chicken was awesome! I dont know what it is about the chicken and broccoli but it was amazing! Also had the moo goo gai pan, for all the fresh veggies. This place did not disappoint. Nice atmosphere, fresh food, and our waitress was super friendly. I will definitely be back...

Chicken-Shrimp Tango is delicious! Mushroom and meat and shrimp in a delicious, slightly spicy brown sauce. Very reasonably priced for dinner. I now substitute beef for the chicken since the chicken in all Chinese food (no matter the restaurant) tastes a bit off to me. This is a 5 dish that is best with the steamed rice. So you can enjoy the flavors. 4 for the rest. Overall, 4.5 . I get the plum wine because I like sweet wine. It is sweet yall, so if you only like slightly sweet wine, stay away. This is the real deep South southern sweet tea of sweet wines! Were not talking Moscato sweet. The hot and sour soup is good and you get a lot at dinner, even for a small size. The kids love the steamed dumplings, crab rangoons, and the fried rice.

Chances are if you eat at this place, you will become addicted. Not only for its food but also the service. You can tell they know how to take care of the customer. While there for the first time, I was amazed to see customers coming in and talking to the staff as if they were long time friends. Ive tried many things on the menu and havent run into anything I didnt just love!

I love this place! Large portions, reasonably priced! The Hunan Ranch Wings are crispy and delicious a must have appetizer (with sweet and sour sauce), serves two people. My favorite is the Pan Fried Noodle, this item is located on the back of the menu. Crispy pan fried noodles are fried to perfection with generous portions of plump steamed shrimp, sautéed beef and white chicken with assorted vegetables, snap peas, carrots, squash, and baby corn all tossed in a wonderful brown sauce. One bowl can serve two people. So go ahead and splurge, order an appetizer, pan fried noodles and any other main course. You and your family can take a serving from each course and add it to your plate as if you are having dinner at home. With this much food, rest assured that you can take the left overs home to enjoy for lunch the next day. If you have not been here, I highly recommend Hunan Ranch in Avery Ranch, Cedar Park, TX. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere will not disappoint.
