My love for Cenote has grown tremendously over the years. I really appreciate all the staff always greeting me with big smiles and compliments. I start my morning by ordering my coffee before I start my shift then when lunch time comes around I go in on the Chicken chopper salad! I always recommend friends, family and co-workers here. It s important to support local businesses especially on the East side of Austin so go grab you some Cenote.

A good first impression of Austin! Being around the corner from my Airbnb, I was looking for a good lunch and this hit the spot. The honeydew melon agua fresca alone was enough for me to go back. And I could tell how unprocessed the ingredients were in the mole enchilada. The vibes are quintessentially Austin and the staff was friendly.

My sandwich and salad tasted good, but it wasn t anything exceptional. I really liked that I had the option to combine my sandwich with a salad because I was able to taste both. I also got a cookie, but it wasn t that good, it broke extremely easily and was a bit brittle. The chai was okay, normal. The ambience was cute though, and I really enjoyed the seating options they had. They had both indoor and outdoor seating which was great, especially if you have dogs. The food was good and I recommend for a brisk lunch date! The service was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful when I needed assistance with the menu.

Service is terrible. You actually have to bus and clean your own table after eating! Never experienced that at ANY restaurant before???? And to top it off, the person ringing you tab up has the nerve to do one of those would you like to tip 15%, 20%, or 25%. After you have just bussed and cleaned your own table. To make matters worse, the food was way below average, more like well below average. My advice is to stay away from this place.

This is my honest review of Cenote. I have been wanting to come here for a while and was very excited. Upon arrival, there was outside parking which was good. The place is very nice inside and has a cute coffee shop vibe. Workers were very nice and helpful as well. I ordered a coffee drink with Sakura and it was quite small but pretty good. I also ordered a potato, egg, and cheese breakfast taco. The taco was pretty big and looked good. After trying some, I was not very satisfied the taco didn t have much flavor. It tasted more like a tortilla with an omelette and some home fries with salsa on top. The taco was not very good in all honesty. On top of this the free wifi they had was very hard to connect to and asked me to sign on my information just to access then proceed not to work for the time I was sitting down trying to get work done. I figured it was just my laptop but it still would not work. I went outside to see if I could get it to work and it finally connected. Kind of frustrating that I needed to step outside just to access WiFi while in a coffee shop. I would honestly need Cenote to provide me with something free for me to go back and I would consider editing my review. For now, I don t know if I was very satisfied with my experience.

We had Sunday brunch here and cant wait to come back. Where to start...the atmosphere, employees, or food? Cenote is in a beautifully restored property with ambiance galore. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and there was hardly a wait for seating at 10:30. The employees were attentive to our needs and were happy to make suggestions about menu items. The barista was finishing our drink orders as we completed our transaction at the register. Then the food started arriving to our table. The chips, salsa and guacamole were fresh and homemade. The bacon empanada hit every savory note and the guasacaca sauce was a fantastic compliment. Everything about the OMG breakfast was delicious...eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, French toast and a biscuit, definitely big enough to share!!! We subbed fries for the side with our carnitas tacos and once again another winning plate. The tacos were built with cilantro, onion and salsa on top of some of the best carnitas in Austin. The fries, skin on but cut and fried in a unique way then seasoned just right with what I am assuming is a special blend. Oh and let me tell you about their breakfast tacos, theyre stuffed, fresh made and delectable. The 50/50 tortilla complimented our 2 filling choices of homefried potatoes, egg and cheese and bacon, egg and cheese and the salsa was the perfect finishing touch to them. Overall there was not a single bad bite had amongst the 4 of us and all we could do on the ride home was discuss how blown away we were by a place weve driven by so many times for other dining options. Do yourself a favor and choose Cenote as your place to dine. Parking: If parking is not available by the restaurant there are signs pointing you to a church parking lot that you may use (except Sundays)

$34 for all of this. Food looks great on the way out but pretty flavorless across the board. Pretty loud during Sunday lunch time and you bus your own tables. Line out the door almost the entire time which had them busy without really having to work for it. Kinda shows in the way staff are pretty detached- yawning or having conversations with each other when people are trying to order. Huge homeless/druggie community posted up at the public library across the street and a few wandered in. One washed up in the bathroom and came out in panties and a bra. Based on the non reactions of the staff I m assuming this is a common occurrence. Horchata was great!

Greeted very friendly once to the register, and the cashier was super helpful with all my questions. They helped me decide on a horchata cold brew and the hummus plate. My cold brew was amazing, Im picky on my coffee. It was not bitter at all, and for my preference, the sweetness was perfect! The hummus tastes so fresh along with my pita being nicely warmed when delivered. With seating inside for cooler days and outside seating for the perfect weather when I was there, its just a perfect little spot.

Long line to place an order. Had to wait in another 10-minute line for the bathroom just to wash my hands, and then there were no paper towels. If the food were good this all could ve been forgiven, but it was mediocre across the board. I tried several of our party s dishes and: - pancakes were very dry - chilaquiles were buried under shredded iceberg lettuce - burger was bland - fried chicken sandwich was dry (way too much bread to meat)

Cute spot. I love a house that has been converted into a coffee shop. I ordered the migas with extra tortillas and dang there was a lot of food! So you def get your money s worth. I came here to work on schoolwork and inside the wifi is fine but I had trouble with connectivity if I wanted to sit outside. I would imagine this place gets pretty busy but they do have lots of tables. The coffee I ordered had such a cute little design. I love seeing extra touches like that. Parking: There is a free parking lot but it is down the road a tiny bit and has a 3-hour time limit which is something to keep in mind if you were planning to work here for an extended amount of time.

My husband and I cannot speak of the food here but we ordered and iced vanilla latte and iced chai tea latte. We were super impressed with the drinks! Their chai is house made and it was so flavourful! The interior of the cafe is super cute but we went at a busier time so we sat on the patio. We brought out Kindles and read. It was very cozy here. There are fan son the patio and it is covered. Very peaceful :) The line was long when we arrived but it moves quick. Super cute spot that should be a pit stop if youre into having a nice coffee or tea! The food looked really yummy so next visit well have to try it out :)

Stopped in with a coffee craving and we were delighted to find that I was there during happy hour. We tried the sliders and breakfast tacos with potatoes. The sliders were flavorful but it might be better to just get the full burger. We were saddened to find that the breakfast taco are a pass. The egg was dry and the potatoes would have been more delicious cut in. Come for the atmosphere and coffee but skip the breakfast tacos.

I got breakfast there while visiting Austin, nice chill atmosphere and very friendly staff. Their black bean empanada was the best food I had during five days in Austin... and I had a LOT of great food in Austin. And it is a beast of an empanada so a great value. Its a full meal. Perfectly cooked crust and delishish filling. I really wanted to go back and try out more of the menu but it was my first visit to Austin so I had to explore. If I lived nearby, I would totally be a regular. That empanada is something I could eat on an almost daily basis. If I make it back to Austin I will definitely hit up Cenote again.

The food was really really good and with a good balance as its served with a side salad, parking is a challenge as we had to go around a few times and we also had to cleanup after ourselves which I dont mind but why ask for a tip if Im doing my own work with the exception of them bringing the food to the table but had to get our own coffee also.

The horchata cold brew was *delightful* I m still thinking about it. The food was so fresh and delicious and came out fast. Pokey (spelling?) was very helpful and kind toward us. We also witnessed him engaging with a woman who came in and appeared to be under the influence of something. I was prepared for her to be scolded or shooed out, but Pokey handled the situation with kindness and patience. She was not disruptive or destructive, and Pokey made sure the situation was not escalated. He let her speak, he responded to her like a human being, and she went on her way. Perfect experience as a customer, and seeing such a compassionate interaction was a cherry on top.

On the atmosphere/service: Like some other reviewers, I too found it odd that they ask you to buss your own tables, get your own drinks, and order at the counter, while asking for a tip when you pay. Luckily it wasnt super expensive. The seating is pretty limited inside, but the outside seating had amazing heaters. On to the food: My husband got the scramble, I got the chorizo breakfast burrito, and our friend got a breakfast sandwich, and all three were AMAZING. And even though the burrito was super greasy, it tasted sooo good (although I couldnt eat the whole thing because it is HUGE). The salsa was good too! The scramble was loaded with veggies and tasted so fresh; the sandwich was on a nice ciabatta bread. Would definitely go to this place regularly if we lived here.

Easy and affordable breakfast options. I had the huevos rancheros and a dirty chai and both were really good. I always appreciate when a cafe makes its chai in house and not use a syrup. Overall great vibes here

This was a great find. Good location near downtown. There was ample seating both indoor and outdoor. The service was really fast and the employees were friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of drinks with room for customization. The lox and bagel was great, along with the yogurt parfait. The cenote scrambler was good with the eggs and added lox. The avocado toast was good and not just any plain avocado toast. Also with added lox on it was good. We would definitely go there again.

Im a huge fan of Cenote. The food is awesome and really reasonably priced compared to many brunch spots (especially tacos!). Service is always great. The outside patio is super super great when it s nice out. The inside is a little grungier and not my favorite, but nothing wrong with it per se just depends on your vibe. Only complaint is that the WiFi is not good outside.

Stopped by with the intention of having a bite and a drink but immediately changed our minds after seeing how filthy the whole place was. Their prices aren t cheap and like most places you get asked for a tip for them just taking your order, then you think they might just at least pick up your plates from the table but no they have signs all over the place for you to BUSS YOUR OWN TABLE. It s such a shame that a place with such a good location and concept can be so dirty. The restrooms were really disgusting, I wish I had not gone in there. We did enjoyed a golden milk latte and a Chai but quickly decided it was have to be on the go.

What a great restaurant & coffee space located in the thick of beautiful greenery. I love the location and the staff was super friendly! I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was pretty hefty considering I am 63 and am a pretty large human. Filled with turkey sausage (although you can get turkey sausage, bacon or avocado), potatoes, egg & cheese, this burrito was absolutely perfect! My girlfriend had the avocado toast with egg & bacon. This was served with a side of pesto aoili, which Ive never had before, and I dont know why because this aoili was absolutely perfect with the avocado and sprouts! We ordered Mexican mocha, which provided some spice in our lattes and a robust mocha flavor behind it! We had to wait a little bit longer for our food & I believe it was due to a kitchen mix-up, which tends to happen a lot in the food industry....so I get it. One of the employees was even kind enough to give us a pastry for our patience & frustration, which was admirable & appreciated. All in all, great food & atmosphere with kind customer service. Ill take kind service any day of the week, so thank you all :)
