This is easily one of the best bars Ive ever been to. The drinks are absolutely phenomenal, and I dont mean theyre good for mocktails, I mean theyre that good period. I feel desperate to try every drink on the menu, but if you could only ever try one drink from them ever, let it be the Kobayashi Maru. Hands down the best drink ever, I didnt want it to end and I kept smelling the glass when I was done just to try and get a little more. Plus our bartenders Val and Chris were just wonderful human beings. All in all, made me feel like I was back home at Burning Man. Cant wait to go back.

What an extraordinary experience. I came with a group of women from MN and absolutely enjoyed talking with Chris and his staff, loved the atmosphere and was VERY impressed with the drinks. I didnt realize NA cocktails could have such complex layers of flavors. Im not a foodie or beverage connoisseur but I really could taste the interesting combination of flavors. Amazing!! The place felt so welcoming and kInda hip. Chris, we need this in MSP! Just not me, I sure dont have your energy or friendliness.

We stopped by this place our first night in Austin. Glad we did! This place is absolutely amazing. Some of the best drinks I ve ever had, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. The Kobiyashi Maru was one of the absolute best drinks with so many unique flavors! The sidebar was also amazing. Chris is a genius innovator. Rivals some of the best bars I ve been to in Mexico City and Chicago, giving unique flavors with each drink. Badly wish we had this in Chicago. The space inside is beautiful too and perfect for events. We are so thankful and glad we made it here!

Sans Bar is a great bar to visit. Whether youre sober, observing Dry January, or just looking for a new place to try, sans bar should be on your list. Its located steps away from the capitol but the quaint and moody interior quickly makes you forget that fact. The actual bar is small and filled up rather quickly leaving standing room only so if you want to grab a seat, head in early. The menu offers a good variety of drinks ranging from sweet drinks to those more acidic. They have a $25 all you can drink special that we took advantage of. The Kobayashi Maru was by far my favorite. Parking: Street parking near bar

This was such a great experience! I came down from Dallas to better understand what a dry bar really is. I fell in love with their vibe! The staff was friendly. The owner remembered their regulars and addressed them warmly, by name. The craft mocktails and zero proof liquors were reminiscent of the taste of the real thing. I m so honored to have experienced this place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Everyone left like they could freely be themselves, WITHOUT being drunk.

I ve been to Sans several times now and had the pleasure of meeting the creator of Austin s first alcohol free bar. As someone who has experienced multiple forms of alcohol dependency, I couldn t be more thankful to Chris and his team for creating a space that is not only welcoming but safe. I wasnt sure what to expect, but I had a great experience! When you walk in there are menus on the bar with everything they offer. The two non-alcoholic mixed drinks I tried were both delicious, though they also have non-alcoholic beer and wine. Its great to have a bar experience without the negatives of going to a bar (i.e. there werent people spilling drinks or letting drinking be an excuse to act inappropriately, etc.). Everyone I interacted with was really nice. My friend and I had planned to meet up to check in out, and I was glad she had checked Sans Bars Instagram ahead of time so we knew that there would be speakers. The speaker series was great, and is apparently a monthly event. It was perfect because each speaker shared for 15 mins and then there was a break between each speaker with live music so we could talk. The owner Chris also encouraged people to meet each other, and it was nice to have that opening to be able to talk to speakers and other patrons, though if you wanted to just talk to a person you came with or not mingle, that was totally fine too. It feels like a bar where everyone could know your name if you wanted, though people pick up on and respect if you dont want to talk (i.e. its a paradise for extroverts and introverts alike). I look forward to going again soon!

As someone who recently has had to go alcohol-free due to health reasons, I ve been spending hours googling the best NA alcohol and trying to figure out how to replace what s in my kitchen. I stumbled upon Sans Bar during one of those google searches and was amazed that an alcohol-free bar even exists! The owner was the bartender the night I went and not only made great drinks, but was so knowledgeable about the world of NA wine, beer, and spirits. He gave great recommendations based on my needs and wants and let me taste test things I was interested in. The prices are cheap (and frankly I would pay more!) and the vibes are chill. *Note: the building also serves as a recovery center so you will see messages about sobriety throughout.*

Hidden gem in Austin! Went here as a non-sober person with a sober friend that was visiting in town for the weekend and had an amazing experience! It is a very welcoming environment with a personal/family/cozy feel. The drinks were really good and I loved the live music and stand up comedy!

My daughter found this gem and brought me while I was visiting from Southern California. I ve been disappointed for years that there isn t a wide option of mixed drinks that don t have alcohol, let alone places to hang out and enjoy people s company that doesn t focus on it. If you appreciate music, friends, art, conversation, laughter and love WHILE having incredible and tasty mixed drinks (and don t need alcohol to accomplish) then I highly recommend Sans Bar!! I got to meet the founder owner Chris who shared his suggestions from the bar and I was so impressed! Delicious, refreshing and made some new friends I hope to stay in touch with. All in all, a great experience and can t wait to see Sans Bar in California!

They had karaoke night the and it was fun. It is sober bar to which I thought was a very interesting concept. I think this is much needed in many communities. The best drink was (I forgot what it was called) strawberry mint drink. Other good drinks are the Longhorn and the Sansgarita. I had a good time vibing and doing karaoke with strangers.

The drinks are delicious, free of alcohol or negligible alcohol. They have a nice large patio, small inside but cozy. There is no large sign, so a little hard to find (its on the corner of chicon and 12th) Unless you know what youre looking for. The staff and patrons were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend trying it, though they are only open on Friday nights for now.

Ok. I thought this over and added one more star and decided to give a thorough review. I visited Sans Bar back in early November. My first impression of this sober bar was not a good one at all. There was a single mingle scheduled this night, which was not mentioned on their website, and was quite awkward considering I was there, with my date. I felt as if the owner was going for a classy wine bar theme, but without class or wine. The lighting was dingy, there was no music, and no entertainment. The majority of patrons were very young and not in any type of recovery; just minors looking for a bar experience. My date and I were only here for about half an hour, so this review is still based on a very short impression. The only reason I added a star to my review, is it is indeed a safe, alcohol and drug free environment for our youth to enjoy.

This place is amazing! We had so much fun. They had karaoke with cash prizes the night we went but I dont think they do karaoke every Friday. This sober bar is only open on Fridays for now so make sure you keep that in mind. Theres a suggested donation of $15 for a nights worth of mocktails and fun. Ill be back!

I had the pleasure of attending an event that was being held at Sans Bar and I m super glad that I showed up. I ll be transparent and say that I didn t fully know what to expect surrounding the concept of what a sober bar actually entailed, however after arriving, I quickly came to the conclusion that this is an ingenious approach and an amazing alternative to the ever growing bar scene. If you want a controlled, eclectic, and fun environment where you can socialize and feel relaxed, this is the place! Sure no alcoholic beverages are served, that s the whole point, but they do serve other types of NA drinks and offer good bar snacks. The service here is fast and the staff is super friendly. So don t let this place fool you! It s totally worth checking out and has no pressures that you often encounter at full service bars.
