Its a dive bar! No beers on tap, but dope prices and they take care of service industry people really well. Mixed drinks are solid, they have a pool table and a small outside area. Bartenders are never rude.

My girlfriend & I are from Austin & were in the mood to try something new. We settled on this place. The atmosphere screams trashy divebar, particularly the fact that there is a dumpster in the outdoor sitting area. The prices, on the other hand, made me feel like I was on Rainey Street. The bartenders werent engaging & seemed as if they didnt want to be there. The shots we ordered were less than 1 oz pours. My advice as an austinite - this place sucks. There are literal dozens of bars within 10 minutes of here thatre actually quality

Walked in with few friends after a long day at the work. From the beginning the bartender had a still against us. One the girl that was with us forget her ID at the car. By the time she came back with the ID the bartender she was already yelling and screaming asking to leave for now reason. I hate to say this but this really felt like a racist person, I dont even speak Spanish and she was telling me to go back to Mexico. Do yourself a favor and find a different place to enjoy with your friends.

This woman treated us like dogs when we went to retrieve our IDs from our cars. When we returned with the IDs, one of my friends put on a shirt because she was cold, and this crazy lady practically spat at us. Im not only going to file a report here but also with the police.

Very pleased with this neighborhood style bar. Customers are friendly. We were told to try the PBJ. Its a Night Owl tradition I was told. Its like drinking a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I will drop by again soon.

Very dark and usually quiet, was quite hoping with activity during our most recent drop in. Bartenders are friendly, and the patrons all seemed to be having a good time. We didnt know anybody there, and it seems sometimes like weve arrived in the middle of someone elses party, since everyone else seemed to know each other. But they treated us as if we were part of the party, so maybe we just ought to go there more often.

Found this place while grabbing some pizza from the store next door. Little hole in the wall type bar where everyone knew each other. Staff are incredibly nice. Patrons were open to new faces and struck up conversation with us. Everybody was very welcoming. Highly recommend checking this place out, especially if you order a pizza next door.

Great neighborhood bar with a pool table. The drinks are cheap for Austin and the bartender and patrons were all very friendly to a stranger like myself who popped in on a Sunday afternoon. The pizza truck out front was great, and the NightOwl allows you to eat it inside while you knock back a cold drink--full service bar, too. Best of all dogs are allowed inside on a hot summer day which pretty much makes this place a new favorite when Im out with my Aussies and need a cool respite from Austins continuous 100s summers. The bartender was super nice--that too left a lasting impression of what everyone likes over someone whos tired, cranky, or self-absorbed--really cheery spot.

We had the best unexpected experience at this bar. We did not intend to visit but had ordered pizza at Pedrosos trailer next door & had to wait 20 minutes for or order. Needless to say we were met with the most kind & personable bar tender. The drinks were very reasonably priced & she was on top of our service. The regular clientele were classy & friendly folks and we plan to return regularly on sundays to keep in touch. We were made to feel like we were at home. Such a great experience

Aestheically really nice inside. But their sound system is speakers from a TV and their playlist was heavy metal for the most part. The smoking patio wasnt covered and the view was the side of a shopping plaza. The bartender was nice and the drink selection was on point. Tried a great pilsner that was new to me, and my girl had a mezcal that was really good.

This is such a cute spot! The bar staff is quick and friendly and it appears to get quite a few regular patrons, but all very respectful. I had the allandale cocktail but instead of gin asked for tequila and the bartender swapped the lemon juice for lime and it was spectacular. The outdoor patio is chill and cozy.

Night Owl is a very great place for a drink and some good conversation. My friends and I were looking for something to do on a Saturday night that wasn t too crazy. Night Owl absolutely completed to task of being a down to Earth neighborhood bar. We got the Allandale with a substitute vodka instead gin and it was DELICIOUS! They also have a magnificent selection of local draft beers for beer drinkers.

Disappointing bar in my neighborhood. Zero atmosphere, and they had someone playing who no one was paying attention to, even though he was worth listening to. The glass and concrete made for an awful acoustic environment. Will visit again in the future to see if anything has changed.

I was on vacation in Austin and was looking for a nice little neighborhood bar, after aimlessly driving around I just happened to pass this place on the other side of the road. The place caught my attention, so I made a u-turn. I was immediately greeted by the bartender (very nice lady) and instantly felt at home by joining into a conversation with the couple other people that were there. If youre in town and want a down paced homey place to go to this is it!

Great little bar. Although they dont have draft beer, they have a surprisingly large selection of craft beer, as well as domestics and imports. The night I was there, they had live great live music - not too loud, sound quality was great. Some of the bartenders were a little slow, but they did take time to personally talk with everyone and relate, which made up for it. I really loved it, will go back again soon.

Saturday night my fiancé and I walk in and in total about 13 people. Seems like our type of place. It s clean, cocktail menu, not too loud, and bartender just chatting with a guy at the bar. Bartender makes eye contact with me as we walk up to the bar and turns back to her conversation. A few minutes pass I hand my fiancé my wallet and tell her I need to use the restroom to get me something off the cocktail list. I like to try new things and she usually takes a taste test. I wait in line and then use the restroom. When I come back I asked if the bartender help her yet. She then tells me the bartender asked how she was doing. Which she responded with I m good and looks up because she was going to ask a question about a drink on the menu; to see the bartender already talking with that guy again. Seems like you have to be a regular to get a drink there. Also it was our first and only stop on the way to the hotel. Just finished eating and wanted a night cap.
