This place has almost become a second home for many of the regulars. Great atmosphere, and even better bartenders! Also a plus that the drinks are cheap, and even cheaper during their happy hour that usually lasts to 6! Most week days even have deals on the meals + paired with the food trucks. The place is also huge-with basically three bar fronts (one outside), two game rooms, a community area, a massive outside, two stages, and even a dog park. This all topped with the manager Kayla always finding ways to get the community together and having a blast! (Photos were taken in the afternoon during a lul, as I didnt want anyone in the pics)

First of all I had a bad experience with a bartender thats a young buck that thinks he knows how to be a professional bartender... As Im patiently waiting in line to get a drink a guy comes up behind me is waiting for a drink too which is fine.. my problem is this young buck bartender that works there decide to Come behind me next in line.. I dont get aggravated that easy but as a bartender and it wasnt really busy usually bartenders asked who was next in line instead of assuming but this bartender did not and also the customer instead of saying oh shes next just decided to jump the gun which aggravated me and I was like yo I was next... So the guy acknowledges after I said that yes she was next with a guilty look and tone in his voice no he was wrong for jumping and yet the bartender still want to be rude to me about it I was like oh no youre not getting my service especially after the customer said I was right and I was next and Ive been waiting here almost 10 minutes for a drink patiently... At this point when the customer knowledge that I was next the bartender instead of being rude and blaming me should have been like oh okay man what would you like to drink and be done with it but no he want to continue to have an attitude with me which definitely makes me never want to come back to that particular bar again this person does not believe in customer service even though he was wrong and even the other customer that should have stood up and said I was next aknowledge he has a bartender was wrong for his actions...

not only is this place out of the way but we were met with subpar service unlike any place I ve been to in town. It was our first time checking it out since a friend invited us out for the Zach Bryan (pt II) listening party. To make a long story short, we were the only POC party in the place and I personally felt like our business wasn t appreciated. Needless to say, we will never go back to The Water Tank again.

Oi! The women bartenders here are so very very jealous, lonely, and pathetic. I pretend to be happy to see them when in actuality their fakeness makes my skin crawl. From the girl who looks like shes using mth with the mammoth tts that are too big for her body. My neighborhood bar! Its older and has a darker broken in kind of feeling. I dont dress up to go there, and feel comfortable just stopping in whatever Im wearing. Im usually going to run into people I know there, especially on game days. Their drinks are fine and inexpensive, but the atmosphere is very relaxed and homey. Ive heard their food is really good but never eaten there. Friendly staff and patrons. Lots of parking too.

Been here multiple times and have had great experiences every time. I chose to bring my registered service dog with me today (in full red vest and leash), and the bartender immediately became rude and confrontational when I walked in. The bartender seemed to suggest I couldnt be inside with him and that I must go outside. When I politely told her that he is a service animal, she got angry, said I misunderstood her, and somehow managed to blame me for a negative event with an unrelated service dog earlier in the week. My wife and I wont be back, and the bartender should seek a less client focused occupation.

The Water Tank has the most character of any bar in the part of Austin that overlaps Williamson County. I dont know the history of the building but is clear that its been there a while. Its dark and cold inside, even when its 104° and brutal outside--thats exactly how a dive should be! Karaoke most nights, and live bands on the outdoor stage now and then. Love it!

I absolutely love this venue! While you can sit inside, you HAVE to go outside to the back of the bar. The picnic tables fit groups, and the bar gives great service. They have a menu with great choices. So there is no need to eat before coming here. I will note that the appetizers are huge! While appetizers are intended for groups, these filled our group up. That is definitely not a complaint! Something else I really like is that they have 3 different cider offerings here. That was really nice to discover! A great plus is that sometimes you will be entertained with live music at the stage in the back. The Water Tank is a terrific bar!

Hi. I have been going off and on to this bar for over 35 years. Today we went for lunch and had terrible service. The bartender, Kaitlin, as she called herself not sure if that s her real name was on her phone 99% of the time, acted as if us asking for an order was an intrusion, and clearly showed that customers were a pain to her. Upon leaving, she screams across the courtyard for us to clear our table for her. She then tells the customers at the bar that I left no tip at which one of the customers called me names (the B word screaming and yelling) as we left. I did not respond. This could have been a horrible scene. I will be sure to let my neighbors who are regulars after all these years about this terrible experience. I don t think this gal should be working here. It s not a good fit for her either.I wish her less anger in her young life. I m sorry to never go there again. I ve had friends that play there as well and will be sure to let them know about this unprofessional, crazy like female bartender on a week end day at lunch time.

Veterans with service dogs be ware. If your dog is not a vision impaired aid they will ask you to leave the establishment and take them outside. Me and my service dog was asked to leave because he was an emotional support dog for a veteran and was asked to go outside because he was not approved by the owner. My dog is a certified support dog and for this establishment not to accept that is not American. I wish I can give the establishment a zero star but one star is all they get. There are plenty of other places where disabled veterans can drink and not be hassled with their service dog.

Came by tonight for the open mic and was turned away for not being in a band. I even asked to jam after being turned away for being a singer-songwriter since the event is called Open Jam Night and he said not unless youre in a band. The guy Ernie then topped it off with, you can go to the many singer-songwriter open mics in Austin, but by that point I already missed the sign-up for the ones I know about. It was just a complete waste of my time that could have been avoided if their mic night was called Open BAND mic night instead of the much looser Open Jam Night . I even called ahead of time and the lady in the phone said to come on over. It wasnt until I spent time getting ready and driving there that they turned me away. TL;DR: Dont go to their Open Jam Nights unless youre in a band (ideally a dad rock band) or they will turn you away.

I still go to this place of business to sing karaoke and visit with friends. Wednesday night is steak night (good price for the meal), tacos and chicken wings. Live music on weekends and a large backyard and many different beers on tap. Vegetarian options: Some burrito and tacos can be ordered as vegetarian. Parking: Parking can be tough on some nights.
