Whenever I travel, I always try to bring home at least one piece of local art. Sadly, it didnt happen on my overnight stay in Austin. The Art Garage features locL artist and I was excited about visiting this gallery. Too bad the art was mostly surrealistic and not to my liking, but it made for a fun visit.

Dont blink, youll miss it. Loved the cool and varied art. Theres quite a bit of talent represented there. Just wasnt our style or what we were looking for at the moment. Almost all of the art is 2 dimensional wall art on the smaller side, but cool just the same.

Though they were unable to give me the direct info I needed. I just wanted to Taylor answered the phone was very nice and accommodating. Im struggling to figure out what to do with paintings I found in an estate of some friends. I have no idea what or where to go. Pinch me. I must be dreaming. I wish I could do the marketing for these people because Ive lived in Austin for 7 years and it took family from out of town saying they wanted to go to a local art place in Austin for our party to find it. Im SO stoked its on my radar now, the people we brought there ended up buying a few incredible pieces and got to meet the artist of one. It was a great trip, and Id recommend anyone go. If youre local, theyre always changing theyre artwork from local artists. If youre a visitor, this is a must see. Finally, something that makes me feel like Austin isnt losing all of its authenticity.

A little difficult to find a place to park, but eventually we found one. A little hard to find as well, but just keep an eye out for the sign on Lamar and turn in when you see it. Its back on the left, park where you can. Great prices for local artists. Glad we went and will check back again.

I was really impressed with all of the artwork here. I purchased a few prints as well. The person behind the counter was really friendly and the artwork was not insanely expensive. They also ship so of youre from out of town you dont need to worry about traveling with the art. If youre an admirer of the arts and want to see some cool local stuff I recommend this place!

Excellent spot for picking up art from local artists. If they dont have a particular size of a certain piece youre looking for just ask the employees. They can reach out to the artist to see if its attainable. A lot of artist that seek work at the blue genie Christmas market can be found here. So if you were eyeing something at blue genie but didnt pull the trigger on a purchase (my wife and I every year...). I would definitely stop by here to see if they have it. Go and support your local artists!
